The Short Version

ToeTagginTambo and Nades review Week 7 DraftKings results, focusing on balanced builds and ways to play against popular roster constructions. Tony Pollard ($5,300) offered an alternative to the chalk running backs after Tyjae Spears was ruled out. Tee Higgins ($6,600) fit the same salary range as popular receivers without requiring a quarterback stack. The review emphasizes finding those alternatives before lock rather than treating every winning lineup as an obvious hindsight adjustment.

Buccaneers DST ($2,200) paired with Bucky Irving to attack popular Carolina stacks, while Cleveland stacks played against Tennessee’s defensive ownership. Other examples include Bo Nix with Jaylen Waddle and Trey McBride, plus flipping Bijan Robinson and George Kittle to Christian McCaffrey and Kyle Pitts. The broader lesson is to manage exposure deliberately, study how successful players build entire portfolios, and separate sound decisions from the touchdowns and late-game swings nobody controls.

Plays Mentioned

PlayCallThe TakeAt
CHALK His ownership climbed higher than expected because he was easy to fit, with late swaps also discussed as a possible contributor. 4:05
Adjusting for Gibbs ownership led to more exposure here and created a chance to climb the standings late. 4:21
VALUE At $5,300, his optimal rate rose to roughly 10% after Tyjae Spears was ruled out, making him an alternative when reducing exposure to popular running backs. 5:53
Joe Burrow + Tee Higgins + Zay Flowers IN PLAY The perfect lineup's quarterback stack and bring-back made sense in the fourth-highest-total game despite much lower projected ownership. 9:11
The perfect-lineup receiver offered a pivot above Tampa Bay's cheap receivers when Bucky Irving already covered that offense. 10:21
Buccaneers DST LEVERAGE Pairing the defense with Bucky Irving attacked popular Bryce Young, Tetairoa McMillan and Jalen Coker builds without adding Tampa Bay's chalk receivers. 11:01
He illustrated an overlooked ceiling at tight end while the field favored cheaper options or Brock Bowers when spending up. 11:37
LEVERAGE Using him in the flex instead of a similarly priced popular tight end attacked the chalk Titans defense with a receiver who had repeatedly produced. 11:37
Titans DST CHALK Tennessee was identified as the chalk cheap defense, creating an opportunity for opposing Cleveland pass catchers. 11:37
ONE-OFF He was offered as a one-off who could speed up the Detroit game when replacing the perfect lineup's two least-owned pieces. 13:35
Deshaun Watson + Harold Fannin Jr. + KC Concepcion Jr. LEVERAGE The Cleveland double stack attacked popular Tennessee defense lineups and worked alongside Tampa Bay pieces opposing the other popular cheap quarterback stack. 16:54
CHALK The $3,000 receiver drew roughly 28% ownership as salary relief for builds spending at running back and in the middle-to-upper receiver range. 19:21
CHALK He was among the cheaper tight ends whose ownership climbed as the field sought salary relief for expensive skill-position players. 19:21
CHALK His $3,500 salary made him part of the field's preferred tight-end value group. 19:49
CHALK At $3,100, he was another cheap tight end used to support spending elsewhere. 19:49
C.J. Stroud + Nico Collins LEVERAGE The review endorsed using Houston's passing stack as another way to handle Woody Marks chalk while retaining field-level exposure to the running back. 44:16
Bo Nix + Jaylen Waddle + Trey McBride IN PLAY The reviewed two-one stack provided enough differentiation to keep popular running backs and a second tight end elsewhere in the lineup. 1:01:56
Deshaun Watson + KC Concepcion Jr. + Tony Pollard + Wan'Dale Robinson BRING-BACK Pollard and Robinson supplied two opposing pieces to push the Cleveland stack in the reviewed lineup. 1:03:03
C.J. Stroud + Nico Collins + Malik Nabers + Isaiah Likely IN PLAY The previously discussed construction moved off Woody Marks and used two opposing pass catchers without needing to resolve uncertainty around their quarterback usage. 1:03:27
Christian McCaffrey + Kyle Pitts This same-game pairing flipped the more popular Bijan Robinson and George Kittle construction, with Pitts also differentiating from popular cheap tight ends. 1:05:04
LEVERAGE At $6,600, he fit the same builds as popular receivers while offering a path to a big score without needing Joe Burrow alongside him. 1:06:16

DFS Terms Used on This Show

SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. It determines which events your player selections can come from and which performances count toward your score. Before building, open the contest details and check the included events, scoring period and lock rules. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Read the full definition of Slate▶ Said at 0:04 GPP (Guaranteed Prize Pool)A GPP is a tournament whose prize pool is guaranteed to pay out in full even if the contest does not fill. Payouts are steep: a small group at the top wins most of the money. Before you enter a tournament lineup, ask how it finishes first, not just how it cashes. If you cannot name that scenario, rebuild it.Read the full definition of GPP▶ Said at 0:55 Showdown (Captain and MVP)NFL Showdown lets you select players from one football game, including eligible quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, tight ends, kickers and team defenses. Your Captain or MVP receives the contest's scoring multiplier.Compare complete lineups with different players in the multiplier slot. Leaving salary unused can reduce duplication, but do not sacrifice meaningful scoring potential just to make your lineup unusual.Read the full definition of Showdown▶ Said at 1:01 Late SwapIn NFL contests with late swap, you can change unlocked afternoon or evening players after earlier games begin. Only games included in that contest's player pool are available. Before the first games lock, identify affordable backup combinations for your later players. Check that each combination fits the open positions, then confirm your saved changes in every affected entry.Read the full definition of Late Swap▶ Said at 4:05 Optimal LineupAn optimal lineup is a legal roster that maximizes fantasy points under the salary cap and roster rules. After games, it uses actual scores; before games, a projected optimal uses estimated scores and any lineup restrictions you set. When reviewing an optimal, replace its most surprising scorer with a realistic pregame alternative. Check whether the remaining construction still offered a credible path to winning your contest.Read the full definition of Optimal Lineup▶ Said at 5:53 OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Read the full definition of Ownership▶ Said at 5:53 Bring-BackIn the NFL, a bring-back is usually a wide receiver, tight end or running back from the team facing your quarterback stack.Pick the bring-back who gains the most when his team falls behind. In football that's usually the opponent's top pass catcher, not a running back who loses carries in a comeback.Read the full definition of Bring-Back▶ Said at 9:11 PivotA pivot in DFS is an alternative player or lineup combination you choose instead of another option. Tournament pivots usually seek comparable scoring upside at lower ownership, meaning fewer competing lineups use them. Before swapping, check what the replacement changes around it: your remaining salary, teammates, opposing players and available later-starting options.Read the full definition of Pivot▶ Said at 10:21 ChalkChalk is the most popular, highly owned play on a slate. The term comes from sports betting, where the favorite is called the chalk.Don't label chalk good or bad. Ask whether each popular play deserves its ownership, then decide which chalk you'll eat and which you'll fade.Read the full definition of Chalk▶ Said at 11:01 Flex and UTILA standard NFL FLEX accepts a running back, wide receiver or tight end. In DraftKings NFL Showdown, FLEX instead means a regular-scoring slot alongside Captain, with broader eligibility that includes quarterbacks. Before lock, identify affordable replacements for your latest starter. An open FLEX or UTIL slot helps only if suitable unlocked players remain within your budget.Read the full definition of Flex and UTIL▶ Said at 11:37 LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Read the full definition of Leverage▶ Said at 11:37 One-OffIn NFL DFS, a one-off is a player you select outside your stacks, commonly a running back or a receiver without his quarterback. An opposing receiver intentionally paired with your stack instead serves as a bring-back.Before adding a one-off, compare him with an affordable teammate of your existing stack. Decide whether his individual upside is worth passing up that extra scoring connection.Read the full definition of One-Off▶ Said at 13:35 OptimizerAn optimizer is software that builds DFS lineups within a site's salary cap and roster rules. It uses projected fantasy points, your settings and, in some tools, simulations to select combinations for a chosen goal.Build a small test batch first. Check which players and combinations repeat, and investigate why before increasing the lineup count or changing settings.Read the full definition of Optimizer▶ Said at 14:24 Game ScriptGame script is how a game's score and time remaining influence its pace, play choices and player opportunities. In football, teams protecting a lead often run more, while teams chasing a deficit often pass more. Before locking a lineup, ask who keeps playing if your expected script reverses. Check passing-down roles and backup rotations instead of assuming a team's leading rusher handles every situation.Read the full definition of Game Script▶ Said at 15:47 Balanced BuildA balanced build spreads salary fairly evenly across a lineup, using mostly mid-priced players instead of a few stars and several minimum-salary players.Go balanced when the slate lacks trustworthy cheap plays. Forcing stars and scrubs without real value just fills your lineup with players who have no role.Read the full definition of Balanced Build▶ Said at 17:51 Spending UpSpending up means choosing a higher-priced player over a cheaper alternative, using more of your lineup's salary budget at that spot. You may also hear it called paying up.Build a version with your preferred expensive player and another without. Before choosing, check whether either version relies on a cheap player whose expected role still depends on unresolved injury news.Read the full definition of Spending Up▶ Said at 19:49 Single-EntryA single-entry contest allows each user exactly one lineup. It can be a cash game or a tournament. In single-entry, one or two contrarian decisions are usually enough. Pair a strong, popular core with a lower-owned piece instead of fading everything the field likes.Read the full definition of Single-Entry▶ Said at 20:37 ProjectionsDFS projections estimate a player's fantasy points for an upcoming slate using expected opportunities, performance and the contest's scoring rules. They describe an expected result, not a guaranteed score.Check the projection's update time and assumed role before using it. If news is already included, adjusting again for that same news can double-count its effect.Read the full definition of Projections▶ Said at 20:37 Bankroll ManagementBankroll management is how you size your DFS spending relative to the money you have set aside to play, called your bankroll, so normal losing streaks do not wipe you out.Write down your per-slate limit before the season starts. Spending rules are much easier to keep when you set them before a losing streak, not during one.Read the full definition of Bankroll Management▶ Said at 29:16 Three-MaxA three-max contest lets each user enter up to three lineups. It is a small step up from single-entry.Give each of your three lineups a clear role. Make sure they differ in at least one major decision, like the main stack or the most expensive player.Read the full definition of Three-Max▶ Said at 29:16 Roster ConstructionRoster construction is how you organize a DFS lineup within its salary cap and roster rules. It includes where you spend or save, which positions you prioritize, and how your players fit together.Build two versions around your biggest spending decision, then compare every player who changes. Revisit the comparison when injury news changes the available value.Read the full definition of Roster Construction▶ Said at 29:33 Player PoolA player pool is the set of players you consider using in your DFS lineups for a slate, the games or events included in a contest. The term can also mean everyone available to select in that contest.Keep a replacement beside each uncertain player, noting the salary and position you need. Recheck those alternatives when news changes so your shortlist still produces usable lineups.Read the full definition of Player Pool▶ Said at 29:33 Slate SizeSlate size is the number of games or matchups included in a DFS contest's schedule. In sports built around one event, it can instead describe the number of eligible competitors; it does not mean the number of contest entries. Before building, count the credible alternatives at each position. A slate with plenty of games can still leave you with very few appealing choices at one position.Read the full definition of Slate Size▶ Said at 30:24 FadeTo fade a player is to leave him out of your lineups on purpose, usually because you expect him to be popular or you think he is a poor play.Fade with a reason, not a feeling. If you can't say why a popular player will disappoint, you're probably just giving away points.Read the full definition of Fade▶ Said at 32:37 Defense/Special Teams (DST)Defense/Special Teams (DST) is a roster selection representing one NFL team's combined defense and special teams, rather than an individual player. It earns fantasy points through sacks, takeaways, defensive and return touchdowns, and other plays, with adjustments for points allowed.Compare what a DST upgrade costs elsewhere in your lineup. If paying more forces you off an important offensive role, check whether a cheaper defense offers a credible path through sacks and turnovers.Read the full definition of Defense/Special Teams▶ Said at 36:50 Lineup LockLineup lock is the deadline after which you cannot change your selected players. Without late swap, your entire lineup locks together; with late swap, which allows edits after the contest begins, players lock at their games' listed deadlines. After saving an edit, reopen your entered lineups and confirm the change reached every intended entry. Check the site's displayed lock times and time zone instead of relying on the television schedule.Read the full definition of Lineup Lock▶ Said at 37:14 UnderweightYou are underweight in DFS when a player, team stack or lineup combination appears in a smaller percentage of your entries than in the contest field's entries.Compare the same contest, format and roster slot. Use projected ownership before lock, then check actual ownership afterward to see whether your intended underweight stance held.Read the full definition of Underweight▶ Said at 41:10 The FieldThe field is everyone else entered in a contest, the group of lineups you are competing against. Before you build, picture the typical lineup in your contest. Then decide on purpose where you'll match it and where you'll step away from it.Read the full definition of The Field▶ Said at 45:08 Twenty-MaxA twenty-max contest lets each user enter up to 20 lineups. It sits between small-field formats like three-max and the largest 150-entry tournaments.Plan all 20 lineups before building any of them. Decide your stacks and exposure limits first, so the set works as a portfolio rather than 20 separate guesses.Read the full definition of Twenty-Max▶ Said at 48:04 Mini-StackIn NFL DFS, a mini-stack usually pairs two players from the same game without either team's quarterback. Often a secondary group beside your main quarterback stack, it can pair a running back with an opposing receiver. Before locking a pair, describe how both players reach big scores together. Then ask whether that outcome would make an omitted quarterback or teammate difficult to beat.Read the full definition of Mini-Stack▶ Said at 1:05:04

All systems go. Clear for liftoff. What's up, everyone? Tyler Tamerlene here, a.k.a. ToeTagginTambo, back for another edition of the Takedown Breakdown here on the Ship It Nation YouTube station. Got my guy Nades with me as usual, and we'll be breaking down the week seven main SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. It determines which events your player selections can come from and which performances count toward your score. Before building, open the contest details and check the included events, scoring period and lock rules. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Read the full definition of Slate over on DraftKings. We'll be using DFSOS.com. Bring that up here in a second. But it was a fun slate yesterday, Nades.

0:55

Didn't quite get to the top, but I appreciate everybody that reached out, had a lot of support. Down the stretch, cheering for that Milly Maker.

1:01

Got fourth in the ticket as uh we'll call it a consolation prize we'll tell you I think it's guaranteed $8,000 but uh can win up to $500,000 if you can get in that it's one fifty plays down to I believe fifty and then fifty down to twenty to go live to the king of the desert in Phoenix but uh what's going on my friend how you doing still got a Showdown (Captain and MVP)NFL Showdown lets you select players from one football game, including eligible quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, tight ends, kickers and team defenses. Your Captain or MVP receives the contest's scoring multiplier.Compare complete lineups with different players in the multiplier slot. Leaving salary unused can reduce duplication, but do not sacrifice meaningful scoring potential just to make your lineup unusual.Read the full definition of Showdown it's late tonight and more brewers action for you too yeah more brewers brewers out to two oh lead all this bullshit on people saying brewers are cheating this and that it's just crazy right like Small market teams, right?

1:33

They haven't been there since eighty two and everyone runs to cheating allegations and this and that. But yeah, like yesterday, unfortunately for you, the same same kind of run out happened with me. Not not to the extent of you, but that's all you can ask for. Right. Put yourself in a position. Hopefully it rolls your way three weeks in a row. It feels like I've been right there and I have.

1:54

Cashed in profits but not gotten all the way there and hopefully uh one of these pops and hopefully for your sake right it's this week at the big mega milli the fifteen hundred I believe is this week, week eight. So that should be good. Hopefully your cards go your way and you get some more tickets or some tickets, et cetera, there. I'll be trying to do the same this week with the different sports going on. But fun slate in general.

2:19

It was, I think, the first chalk bus SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. It determines which events your player selections can come from and which performances count toward your score. Before building, open the contest details and check the included events, scoring period and lock rules. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Read the full definition of Slate we've seen in quite some time, right? Like we're all the really mega chalk outside of a couple of running backs, but that's typically the case, right? Running back chalk is usually the best position to eat some chalk there. But, yeah, I think that's why you had a pretty successful week. I had a pretty successful week because we kind of tap into what the field isn't doing. Right. Like it feels very cookie cutter.

2:42

And we've played DFS long enough. Right. Obviously, you got you got more tenure than I do. But I've been in the streets since way back, basically, after I graduated high school. Right. And so it's been interesting. When it feels super easy and it feels like it can't miss, like you gotta be understanding, okay, if it doesn't miss, how do you go away from that? How do you play into that and still get pieces, things like that, right?

3:06

Just some stuff that, especially with all the shows and content and AI and things like that, right?

3:11

Like you see these popular kind of, situation just get steamed more and more um and it's hard for people to really kind of put the box aside and think outside the box okay this box is going into into a bigger box of a hundred and $70,000 entrants right like how do you get yourself outside of that inner circle that everyone feels like they have every different combination solved on that and and think differently without being crazy so I think there's some stuff we can pull away from this week for sure and um yeah was that was a good week and if you haven't had a good week we gotta Nice Showdown (Captain and MVP)NFL Showdown lets you select players from one football game, including eligible quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, tight ends, kickers and team defenses. Your Captain or MVP receives the contest's scoring multiplier.Compare complete lineups with different players in the multiplier slot. Leaving salary unused can reduce duplication, but do not sacrifice meaningful scoring potential just to make your lineup unusual.Read the full definition of Showdown game tonight.

3:44

We've got World Series tonight, so it should be fun. Yeah. I think there's a ton of stuff to pull away from that. I will say one thing that's, you know, just a little off is it's been, it's been back to back big chalk bust weeks. Cause last week, if you remember, it was like Puka, Bijan, all those guys this week, um, some stuff there, but I'll say a couple of takeaways. One, um, you know, was the, the Gibbs stuff. Gibbs got way higher than people expected.

4:05

If you remember on leverage lane on Saturday, I was having the back and forth with Blickle about that. I just said at the end of the day, it's just too easy to click this guy. I you know, like people Late SwapIn NFL contests with late swap, you can change unlocked afternoon or evening players after earlier games begin. Only games included in that contest's player pool are available. Before the first games lock, identify affordable backup combinations for your later players. Check that each combination fits the open positions, then confirm your saved changes in every affected entry.Read the full definition of Late Swap or whatever thought that, you know, he would be lower owned. However they got there. It doesn't matter.

4:21

Cause at the end of the day, he got up there and that's actually part of the reason, uh, some of the slight adjustment that I was able to make where obviously I ended up getting more Aminra St. Brown and that ended up being the chance that I had down the stretch. So that one just kind of worked out naturally into that lineup. Um, So there was that.

4:38

And then I think the other thing was, you know, a lot of talk about the Tony Pollard stuff. I know our man Ham is right here. And yeah, shout out to the guy, Coach. Coach Sav, nineteen ninety. I saw a big $5,000 shipper for him. Awesome to see there. Congrats to you. Shout out to Sully. Always working to get better. We got Philly Phantom. We got our man Gary saying KOTD. Excited for that.

4:56

And then we'll get to some of the other stuff here in a minute. But the Tony Pollard stuff was interesting too, just because you still couldn't get to him, even if you loved him. Like it wasn't like you could get too much of him. But obviously if you came down on any of those higher owned running backs, that was the next guy that would have fit in. It was Woods Marks. It was Braylon Allen. It was CMC.

5:17

Then you had Gibbs, who, like I said, I thought would be a lot higher. You had Bijan. But after that, I think realistically, if you look down the board, like I'm looking, there's ten games. Nobody else on really on these other guys. Nobody ended up getting to, you know, Jacobs. Kyron definitely had some love, but yeah, it was basically that. And once Spears was ruled out and we have it on Ship It Nation, I'll just pull it up here.

5:38

I'll bring up Mastermind in a second because I had a bunch of people reach out. You know, the night after you do a Milly run, you always have like five, ten people sign up right away or want to sign up because like, oh, I want to follow you and do it like that is now. It's like it's been there forever, but people want to chase after they see your close call or big hit.

5:53

But Pollard, Did boost after the Spears news because no one knows who Kalo Mullings is. And we had him up to a ten percent Optimal LineupAn optimal lineup is a legal roster that maximizes fantasy points under the salary cap and roster rules. After games, it uses actual scores; before games, a projected optimal uses estimated scores and any lineup restrictions you set. When reviewing an optimal, replace its most surprising scorer with a realistic pregame alternative. Check whether the remaining construction still offered a credible path to winning your contest.Read the full definition of Optimal Lineup at $5,300. He was only three hundred bucks more on FanDuel. Not really owned as much over there. He did get a bunch of steam late on FanDuel, though. People always know on FanDuel. I said they always love to get to to old Tony Pollard. So he got huge OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Read the full definition of Ownership in the high stakes stuff.

6:18

Over there he started popping in the sims quite a bit late as well so for the last runs that people got once the Spears news it wasn't like he got a big boost by the way because of the spear stuff it's just something when there's not another guy there and I don't know the matchup was okay like people always say oh it's not a good matchup it's not a good matchup way more worried about the secondary of the Browns than teams running on them so I think that's something to think about as well but I'm bringing up Quick Nades Mastermind.

6:42

If you guys haven't checked it out, you can go to dfsmastermind.com. It's where I talk about my own proven process. People like Nades, others from around the industry have done. There's over sixty videos in the vault. You can check it out and see what's in the vault. It's right here. This is just a two minute video showing you exactly what you get on the inside. But if nothing else, this is one where you can just invest in yourself.

7:02

You can spend forty seven dollars and you can learn in less than a nine to five shift what I've spent the last ten plus years working on and talked to over a thousand DFS players to put together these mind map modules. So the models here are all changing soon. I've talked to the Mastermind members about this, but if you want to get in on the lifetime before it's too late, it's two payments of two forty nine. That's it. You're done forever.

7:23

You'll get all the future stuff as well. Four ninety seven just to get it over with. Or you can just pay forty seven bucks, get the modules and figure it out later. But let's move on. Let's go to. DFSOS.com. This is our partnership over there. You guys can use code SHIPIT at DFSOS if you want to use the same data that we're using and see how the best DFS players actually play. This has a study section. It has a review.

7:45

It's meant to go with the other sites that you already use. It's not a competitor. It's a complimentary piece. It's got the FanDuel data that you could never get before. That's over there. You can look up any DFS player and see what their winnings look like over time, you know, fifteen million bucks plus for the tracked winnings. I will say there's a lot of, you know, sites that just pop up with AI and things like that that are completely wrong.

8:08

They're missing people's million dollar scores. They're missing so much of the action along the way and trying to prove it out there as what's real. People know what's real. Go look up who's playing. Go find out on a site like this where you can actually see and go about it. But when you get into your dashboard, And I'm just going to expedite this. But when you get into your dashboard, it's fully trackable and traceable.

8:27

But I'm going to the Optimal LineupAn optimal lineup is a legal roster that maximizes fantasy points under the salary cap and roster rules. After games, it uses actual scores; before games, a projected optimal uses estimated scores and any lineup restrictions you set. When reviewing an optimal, replace its most surprising scorer with a realistic pregame alternative. Check whether the remaining construction still offered a credible path to winning your contest.Read the full definition of Optimal Lineup nades where we usually start. We just like to look at it. We say success leaves clues. We'll get into the Mills Sweat stuff and more in a minute. But this is already tracking to Sunday, the twenty fifth main SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. It determines which events your player selections can come from and which performances count toward your score. Before building, open the contest details and check the included events, scoring period and lock rules. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Read the full definition of Slate. Wild, perfect lineup nades. But I'll let you sort of walk it through here. Burrow, Bucky, Pollard, T. Higgins, Omar Cooper Jr. Goes off again. Zay Flowers, Trey McBride, Concepcion.

8:50

And then you've got the Buccaneers defense who Came through yesterday at $2,200 bucks. I'll talk more on that, too. I mean, there was a lot of stuff on X of these people popping up and posting stuff out there. Like if you landed on the Burks tee, you've got a crystal ball or stuff like that. It's just not even close to true. It's all slate dynamics. It's all the things we talk about at Ship It Nation and DFS Mastermind. But go ahead, Nades.

9:11

I'll let you run through this perfect lineup here. It was by the way, it was two twenty five is what actually won the twenty dollar milli. So forty point delta here. Yeah, so I think this is one of the better perfect lineups we've seen from like not just a random standpoint. I mean, you got the Burrow to Higgins with the Flowers Bring-BackIn the NFL, a bring-back is usually a wide receiver, tight end or running back from the team facing your quarterback stack.Pick the bring-back who gains the most when his team falls behind. In football that's usually the opponent's top pass catcher, not a running back who loses carries in a comeback.Read the full definition of Bring-Back in a game that was the fourth highest total on the slate.

9:36

And that was it would have been the second highest total had Lamar Jackson not gotten ruled out, right? And you look at the projected OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Read the full definition of Ownership in that game and it was like eighth on the board of ten games. Right. In terms of projected ownership. So that's one of the big deltas. I called this out last time I was on here. I've done a lot of study and research and it's held up a couple of times now. Right.

9:56

Where there's a big delta in the Vegas total and the ownership of what the field wants to account for that game. Right. And This was a prime example. So I thought I had a lot of Higgins and that it was pretty hard to get to Burrow just because of obviously the Jordan Love stuff, the cheaper quarterbacks. But that doesn't mean that it wasn't a sharp play, right? Obviously that game total, right?

10:21

All that news that was still reasonably priced players like T Higgins, $6,000 as a PivotA pivot in DFS is an alternative player or lineup combination you choose instead of another option. Tournament pivots usually seek comparable scoring upside at lower ownership, meaning fewer competing lineups use them. Before swapping, check what the replacement changes around it: your remaining salary, teammates, opposing players and available later-starting options.Read the full definition of Pivot off of all those Packers receivers, all of those kind of popular plays within that range. Mark Cooper did it again, not being results oriented, but in a lineup, how you could have landed on a guy like him. Number one, it's a pivot off of a little bit more expensive than all the Burks guys.

10:42

And you have the Burks guys covered through Bucky Irving in a lineup like this. And you also aren't going to the Braylon Allen piece, which everybody would have went to. Typically, when you're thinking about this ahead of the slate, not being results oriented because it's just up on the screen here and it's what. Was perfect. It's how do you land there differently? Well, I'm already got Bucky.

11:01

I'm not playing any of those Panthers ChalkChalk is the most popular, highly owned play on a slate. The term comes from sports betting, where the favorite is called the chalk.Don't label chalk good or bad. Ask whether each popular play deserves its ownership, then decide which chalk you'll eat and which you'll fade.Read the full definition of Chalk guys, the Tats, the Coker of the world, the Bryce Young of the world. I can throw in Bucky's defense. If Bucky's doing his thing, the Burks defense is shutting down Carolina, which I don't have in my lineup. Well, why would I go in and play the chalk value wide receivers from the buck side? I'm not playing Braylon Allen because I'm going to a cheaper guy in a guy like Tony Pollard.

11:26

So I think you could land it on a similar lineup like this. And it wouldn't have been as crazy. The Trey McBride play. Right. I'll start with that. Everyone was going to.

11:37

Craft LaPorta all those cheaper tight ends right if they were spending they were going to Brock Bowers um people just couldn't get up to him he can do it on any slate and then the kc conception right who's the chalk defense of the slate the Titans right so you're not playing the chalk defense down at $2,300 at the twitens or twenty four whatever they were you're playing the bucks well how do you LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Read the full definition of Leverage that you don't also use a Tucker Kraft or something like that at a similar price point Flex and UTILA standard NFL FLEX accepts a running back, wide receiver or tight end. 12:11

So I think this is really actually one of the better, perfect lineups we've seen to digest. And you can actually pull a lot of slate dynamic thoughts away from it, I think. Yeah, we're going to have a bunch, but I do think the coolest part of this one is actually that it's Burrow, Higgins, with Zay Flowers. So it's a two one. It's Bucky with his defense. I had that in my twenty dollar million maker line up. So that's makes sense. It's Pollard across from Concepcion.

12:37

So you got that. And the two that you would remove that's boosting the score, like Jerry says here, it's crazy how wide of a margin is. The two that people would say, yeah, but you'd never get to Omar Cooper and you'd never get to McBride. You're right. Probably not. Two point three, one point four. Like those are the ones. Let's pull them.

12:54

For fifty five points and plug in almost anything else it's going to come very close to ten points plug in whatever chalk you want that makes more sense to you and it's going to actually come in and probably still win the Mills because we got it we had forty points to start with right to twenty five ish to two sixty five ish and so you pull them You're fifty five.

13:14

So it's like you need to come up with whatever your two V two is and get your ten points. So I don't know what it would be. Let's just say it's Kittle and wherever else you land, it's going to be a more expensive receiver and be able to. Let's say it's, you know, an interesting part about this to know Green Bay, Detroit. Right. Going to talk about that in depth in a second. But. I got it. It's Kittle and Jamo, I think.

13:35

Fifty seven and $5,800. Right. Like so you could throw in Kittle and Jamo is just a One-OffIn NFL DFS, a one-off is a player you select outside your stacks, commonly a running back or a receiver without his quarterback. An opposing receiver intentionally paired with your stack instead serves as a bring-back.Before adding a one-off, compare him with an affordable teammate of your existing stack. Decide whether his individual upside is worth passing up that extra scoring connection.Read the full definition of One-Off piece that can speed up that game. Right. Yeah. Or if you can have that, you can have you can have a one. You could have a craft for fourteen points on his own and anything you land on. I don't care. Right. That's that's kind of the point. He'd be $4,700. So.

13:57

$6,800 left for your wide receiver spot, which I don't know who was in that range in the afternoon only. But in terms of $6,800 on just in general, that would have been T Higgins, Malik Nabers, Garrett Wilson. Well, T Higgins is in there, but I'm saying you set it up beforehand. So to your point, it's probably Nabers. Yeah. Nabers. So you could add Nabers and what's ever, you know, and get a bunch more points. So just that it's not about that.

14:24

It's more concept. Like everyone's it's easier to look back. Look, when you see my lineup in the twenty dollar million maker, the two B two sit staring right at you. But it's not how it works. Right. You're building with an OptimizerAn optimizer is software that builds DFS lineups within a site's salary cap and roster rules. It uses projected fantasy points, your settings and, in some tools, simulations to select combinations for a chosen goal.Build a small test batch first. Check which players and combinations repeat, and investigate why before increasing the lineup count or changing settings.Read the full definition of Optimizer, most cases, things like that. So we talked about this before. But the other thing I'll take away. So no Green Bay, Detroit.

14:39

Leads me to one the game busted for sure like overall versus what it could have been and then two um just how it can be spread out like both those teams have you know we had Jacobs back in the fold you've got uh sabion Williams on top of Golden on top of Watson on top of craft on top of other options that could happen there and then you've got the other side of Detroit all the options they had tesla in the mix again they've got gibbs they've got almond rod they got jamo They got LaPorta.

15:07

I don't know if they just didn't want to give LaPorta after the media comments. Both him and Kyron Williams both looked like they got a little bit of taste of their own medicine on that little hush-hush, get off the mics and start playing football and just do your job. You already get paid and you're going to continue to get paid. And if you keep playing good, you'll keep getting paid. So just keep doing that. That's probably the best case for them.

15:25

I'm no expert in that field, but it looked like some of that happened out there yesterday, which was interesting. But just to note it, The line-up kind of made sense. The other thing I want to talk about is about the slate dynamics, like Sean Sully says here, and multiple, we've talked about this, but the Ds. When people always say there's like, close your eyes and just pick Ds. That's fine.

15:47

But the good idea is, you know, you can either go the Pat Mayo route, which he likes to pick a pool of Ds that he thinks are actually going to get takeaways and chances. And regardless of OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Or the other route to go, like I like to do is to look at what's optimal.

16:09

And a lot of times what's optimal and works is the chance that they can hurt some of the other stuff on the SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. So if you guys are on DFS OS here, you can just go to slate review and And then we're looking at yesterday. Again, a little bit of data missing today, working on some pretty cool stuff over there, Josh is.

16:32

So I'm excited to see what he comes out with and when he can announce that. But the twenty dollar twenty millimeter Miller maker is where I came in fourth. Right. And yeah. If only the $50,000 salary spend was the $50,000 cash. But, you know, the ending of this game was so tilting with Kyron Williams getting to play with the last three minutes while they're up fourteen. I'll talk more about the sweat in a minute.

16:54

But just to note it, you've got Deshaun, Fannin and Concepcion versus a very popular Tennessee D. And then you've got. Bucky and the Burks D going against the popular other stack in Bryce Young, Tet, and Coker, which is another stack like the Deshaun stack. So you see how you're like flip-flopping and double flip-flopping, like it's double LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Read the full definition of Leverage. And then you're still getting Two running backs in really good spots with Braylon Allen and CMC.

17:29

And you're still getting a piece of the afternoon game with Amon Raw and a good receiver that is just a fine mid-range guy. The other thing, though, before I get to the Mills Sweat Nades, I want to go back and just mention two with that Optimal LineupAn optimal lineup is a legal roster that maximizes fantasy points under the salary cap and roster rules. After games, it uses actual scores; before games, a projected optimal uses estimated scores and any lineup restrictions you set. When reviewing an optimal, replace its most surprising scorer with a realistic pregame alternative. Check whether the remaining construction still offered a credible path to winning your contest.Read the full definition of Optimal Lineup. Let's see if I got it here. Perfect lineup. Go back to it. Very balanced, again, too.

17:51

If you noticed yesterday, a lot of people were building the Hurst lineups and the Hurst to get Gibbs and all that stuff ended up happening. And so you see now where it's like a really Balanced BuildA balanced build spreads salary fairly evenly across a lineup, using mostly mid-priced players instead of a few stars and several minimum-salary players.Go balanced when the slate lacks trustworthy cheap plays. Forcing stars and scrubs without real value just fills your lineup with players who have no role.Read the full definition of Balanced Build there. It's actually no different if you go to the it's very balanced outside. I mean, $4,400 Concepcion, $4,200 tight end right in the same range as the popular tight ends that everybody was on.

18:17

Bucky, Christian McCaffrey, Allen, no Bijan, no Gibbs, no expensive stuff there, no cheap wide receivers. And again, in my pool and other lineups, it happened. I'm just noting what came through yesterday. What like again, this game busted, but a Jared Goff almond raw with JMO still ended up getting there. And then you had afternoon pieces with, you know, gentee and Parkinson and all this stuff, but still a pretty balanced lineup for the most part.

18:44

So when you're, when you are looking at how a SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. It determines which events your player selections can come from and which performances count toward your score. Before building, open the contest details and check the included events, scoring period and lock rules. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Read the full definition of Slate's being played and people are using Hearst and all these other things to jam expensive running backs, you can build some lineups like this without going towards the results. You know what I mean?

18:56

Yeah no absolutely and like the t Higgins right he's sandwiched between Golden and Christian Watson to the high stone they were the two high stone receivers on the slate in large field stuff ted hearst right you're not using him as a cheap guy to unlock the a lot of amara teams probably had ted hearst right because they were probably on the golf stacks right where golf was more expensive than the other cheaper quarterbacks things like that right the Who else was in that $6,000 range?

19:21

Well, Malik Nabers at $6,800 Jalen Coker at $6,100, right? So that $6,000 to $7,000 wide receiver range had so much chalk built into it that. It made people punt value somewhere, whether it was at the tight end or it was at that wide receiver three position, right? Why you saw Ted Hurst coming at twenty eight percent OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Read the full definition of Ownership or something at $3,000. Right. And these other tight ends get steamed way up the board. Right. Tucker Kraft, Higbee, right.

19:49

Higbee at $3,500 K dot. $3,100. Right. So people were trying to find value to afford to at least to Spending UpSpending up means choosing a higher-priced player over a cheaper alternative, using more of your lineup's salary budget at that spot. You may also hear it called paying up.Build a version with your preferred expensive player and another without. Before choosing, check whether either version relies on a cheap player whose expected role still depends on unresolved injury news.Read the full definition of Spending Up wider running backs and usually one spend up wide receiver. Right. At least in that mid to upper $6,000 range. Right. So just understanding that that's not about picks and plays. It's the result is what it is. It's. You know what the field wants to do and what they feel comfortable doing going into a slate like that, right?

20:18

And you can ask the question, well, how do you know that? Well, number one, we have very good projected ownership and we've done backtesting week in and week out and have literally showed it off and you can do it yourself right on DFS OS if you wanna do your own backtesting, but ownership is continuing to get better. So that's piece number one.

20:37

Piece number two is you can use any OptimizerAn optimizer is software that builds DFS lineups within a site's salary cap and roster rules. It uses projected fantasy points, your settings and, in some tools, simulations to select combinations for a chosen goal.Build a small test batch first. Check which players and combinations repeat, and investigate why before increasing the lineup count or changing settings.Read the full definition of Optimizer and build out as many teams as you allow and kind of look through them and see, okay, projection wise, which ProjectionsDFS projections estimate a player's fantasy points for an upcoming slate using expected opportunities, performance and the contest's scoring rules. What do they have in common? And you can kind of extrapolate that.

20:58

Oh, and now how do I play against that without being off the wall, without being crazy, without trying to find the the one percent owned Cooper that scores thirty points like that doesn't matter. That shit doesn't matter. It wasn't shown up on the winners. So that's kind of the evergreen stuff that you can look out. Yeah. Omar Cooper made an appearance in sixth, but got to say too, first off, congrats to DFS underscore ads or ADS been around for quite a while.

21:25

Crushes it, you know, awesome win there for a million bucks. We will go through that lineup in a second. Shout out to my boy, one, eight hundred Eddie OG stochastic guy. I've met Eddie and his wife at a bunch of different live finals. The guy is the man. So congrats to him on a nice run. I mean, he got me, he clipped me late with the Kyron.

21:42

So he'll get a little bit of extra coin or cheese for him, but yeah, Scorpio was up there all day and then had it taken away at the end. I just need a little bit of an almond raw boost at the end to get the $100,000. And I kind of thought that's what it was. I will say this. We have no control over what happens. And we talk about this all the time on here. So.

22:01

I'll do my little Monday motivation for you on this stuff. First off, I really appreciate everybody that reached out. I always have the sign, nobody cares, work harder, but it is awesome when you're getting texts from people and all this stuff after the fact saying, hey, you know, great run. It'll be, you know, keep knocking on that door, all that stuff. That means a lot. So I do appreciate it. But I will say like, um, you know, down the stretch, the momentum, you do feel the change.

22:24

I don't care. Like no matter who you are out there, anytime you've had a close call or a run. And I can tell you exactly everything was going my way. Like I literally felt like this is crazy. This is going to be something special. Like everything's going my way. And I got both games on the TVs and, um, the game I got turned on is I need Amon Ross. So I got the Detroit for sound for sound. We're talking about, it's a bit about the Mills sweat here.

22:47

And, um, The other game is on and I see Kyron or sorry, I see Corum, the best case scenario, bust this TD off and it's going to be thirty four, thirty five to six. And I'm going nuts. I'm saying, oh my God, that's the exact perfect run out because we got a close game over here and just need Amundra points. And this just happened, which hurts Kyron. It's going to be the fourth quarter. They'll be up thirty four to six, thirty five to six, whatever.

23:14

And there'll be no like they're going to have. Why would they play their starters much longer at all? Puka is coming back off injury. He's down below me. They've got Kyron. Why use him? They could just use Corum. He just busted off a TD for him. He's looking good. And that TD gets a flag. And gets called back. And all of a sudden it's gentee time and twenty eight to eighteen and the game's tight and they're playing their starters. So I was like, oh, that's just brutal.

23:37

So you did feel the turn, the offside, the not using Amon Ra, all that stuff. But I will say a couple of things, Nades, just on this stuff. I appreciate Bryce here saying, you know, CMC getting hurt for a little didn't help either. The black TD, Kalen Black could have been CMC. All that stuff is true, but we always got to remember it's true for everybody. Belman and I talked about this last week. Colby Parkinson, well, Davis Allen got two, almost three touchdowns.

24:02

This, you know, DFS underscore ADS could have blew the whole field away by a million if those two touchdowns came through Colby Parkinson. Like there's always the woulda couldas, but at the end of the day, I was going to show it with mine. You know, Braylon Allen, Could have been $5,300 Pollard who would have been a Bring-BackIn the NFL, a bring-back is usually a wide receiver, tight end or running back from the team facing your quarterback stack.Pick the bring-back who gains the most when his team falls behind. In football that's usually the opponent's top pass catcher, not a running back who loses carries in a comeback.Read the full definition of Bring-Back to the stack. And I could have just singled stacked with Concepcion and hope that Deshaun runs like he did and change Fannin up to Kraft.

24:29

And I would have had a perfect two V two with a hundred bucks left over of Allen Fannin for Kraft with the same points and Pollard with more. And it would have been a Kraft secondary with Aminra. And it would have been a Pollard with a Deshaun Concepcion Pollard. And I win the Mills. But if some butts and butterfly effect and all that other stuff. I will say this. My topic for today, Nades, was perspective. One of the coolest things ever.

24:54

Way worse things are happening to people right now than me finishing fourth for $25,000 and getting a king of the desert seat. I'll be all right. And we'll continue on tonight and go back and play. But the coolest thing is my kids are getting a little bit old enough now to sort of sweat it. With me a little bit. They have no clue what the sweat is.

25:09

What I mean by sweat it with me is like sit down there and watch the games. And my son who's six and is getting into all the sports and football and soccer and basketball and baseball and all these things, watch the world cup with them, all that stuff. This was really cool. Doesn't really pay attention to the game, but we were cheering for Amun-Ra, right?

25:26

We needed fourteen, so he kept saying, fourteen, fourteen, and then anytime he'd get a catch, my son is doing, Amun-Ra does his hands like this, and then boom, for the first down, right? So he's doing that. And then this morning after a tough beat, it always sucks, right? We've got to come out. We're going to talk about this stuff. It is what it is, but you know, it's part of the game. It's why we do it. We still love it. It's a lot of fun.

25:49

But when my son's going to school and my wife's driving him in the morning, he's looking out the window and he's going like this to me. And giving me the Amun-Ra first down salute. So anyway, it's a long story short. It just shows that there's a lot more to it than just DFS. Would I like to win a million dollars? Yes. Have no control over the outcomes. All we can do is continue to put ourselves in the position to do that.

26:12

But fourth place this time, maybe we win it this week in week eight for the main event. Maybe it's a sign of things to come, but we keep on the grind, Nades. That's what it's all about. Yeah, no, that's awesome. I was at a Packers party myself and had Britt and my best friend and his wife and their friends and stuff. We were all cheering for it, right?

26:28

Because I said I pulled it up on my phone because people out there still don't know how to pull up live contest standings on DraftKings, which is wild in twenty twenty six. But I pulled it up on my phone after I saw the discard, checked it out myself, looked through kind of some of the lineups. And so I was like, wow, it's really going that way. So like obviously we're watching the Packers game.

26:49

And then I saw Dan Campbell do that stupid bullshit ass fourth and one from his own twenty. And I was like, if he just punts it away there, Packers go three and out. Now they're now the Lions have to drive the whole field. Right. Everything. So there's just so much. I was like, this is just terrible. And then I saw I was on the sweat down and I saw the frickin Trey Tucker. Inevitable garbage time bomb touchdown week after week happened.

27:14

I was like, oh, fuck, that sucks because I know you're sweating, Kyron, and then that. But Um, yeah, just overall great. Uh, they, they obviously don't have any clue either. Like my buddy plays casually at times and asked me for advice and stuff. Cause he knows, obviously I work for ship it here. So like he kind of had an idea, but everyone else had no clue. They were just like, where's Amina Amin Ra every time he got a cash, like they were cheering and stuff.

27:36

So it was, it was pretty cool. We were sweating for you too. And that's what, uh, obviously a nice community about here. It is right. It's just having those memories and stuff. And the biggest takeaway is right. You've got to put yourself in position to have these chances. And that's the biggest thing. And if you aren't getting in position, well, that's where you probably have to take a look at your process and your your setup and really do some more digging.

27:59

If you've been in position and you just feel like the chips have slid off the back end of the table, right? And it's to no fault of your own because the leg collapsed, right? And you can't control that. Well, that's what happens. And your process is usually pretty dialed in and just keep putting yourself there. And one of these days, eventually it's going to fall your way, right? There's a million case studies out there that show this is true.

28:21

So for anyone out there who hasn't or feels like they're there and they just haven't and they're getting down mentally just just keep keep going right because you're putting yourself in a position if not that's where you need to start asking yourself questions start reviewing like we do week in and week out um and not just review your your losses but review your winners and do exactly what we're doing here and why did this win well the field played this way and this kind of went that way do that kind of stuff so um that's just a little motivation for for everyone out there Yeah, just back to it, because a lot of people hit me up in DMs and things last night.

28:56

But if you are just getting the modules, I'll show you what comes with it at dfsmastermind.com. But if you join Method, and again, you could do it, start for two forty nine and it's just two payments. It's lifetime membership. Go from there. But the modules really do help you. If you don't have a full process, get back to the basics. Right. It's all from my perspective. It's you can take it in less than a nine to five shift.

29:16

I would say it's about seven and a half hours. You can speed it up. If you want, but it's got Bankroll ManagementBankroll management is how you size your DFS spending relative to the money you have set aside to play, called your bankroll, so normal losing streaks do not wipe you out.Write down your per-slate limit before the season starts. Like again, it's just layers and levels to it that I don't think people go into enough and most certainly not than any that play at a high level go into. 31:18

Going back to the winning lineup from yesterday, Nades, DFS underscore ADS has, or adds, I don't know what it is actually, but just to note it, it ended up being, let's see if I can pull it up here. I think it's up to date now. So let me share this. And it is. Okay. So they had one hundred and fifty lineups cash. Fifty of them use ninety three unique players will sort by exposure first. Very heavy. This is another thing, too.

31:48

You'll see my stuff as well. You got away with a lot yesterday. Look at this. You know, Bijan bust. Twenty six percent overweight. Kittle, fifteen, whatever. Not bad, I guess. Twenty eight. But Ted Hurst had a zero, by the way. Thirty percent. We all did. I said that, too. Like, it's not going to fully affect you and maybe it doesn't affect you at all. Still can have a chance to to break free from it. Had a huge stand on Pollard, though.

32:11

That obviously was important. Right. If you look here, thirty nine and a half points, twenty six percent. Delta was big on McCaffrey, slightly over, I should say, McCaffrey, big on Otton. No, and I'm guessing if you go down and see, like, yeah, there's Woods Marks, Nico Collins, Colby Parkinson was a huge stance. C.J. Stroud goes with the Nico Collins stuff. Where was – I'm curious about, like, Baker. If we just sort it by this.

32:37

Not a lot of Baker by the looks of it. Maybe none. He had no Baker, but he was – Huge amount of Roberts, though. Yeah. So the biggest thing I see just overarching on the portfolio manipulation part is Gibbs. He didn't full FadeTo fade a player is to leave him out of your lineups on purpose, usually because you expect him to be popular or you think he is a poor play.Fade with a reason, not a feeling. If you can't say why a popular player will disappoint, you're probably just giving away points.Read the full definition of Fade him. He kind of he probably projected him kind of similar to you. He went with twenty percent. That seems like a hard cap, I would assume, on Gibbs because he probably projected thirty five to forty percent OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Read the full definition of Ownership.

33:06

So he wanted about half the field with him doing that while he wanted to be over overweight on Kyron, which is another thing. Guy up in that price point. The big one, though, is Pollard, right? He matched the field with Braylon and Woods Marks. In doing so, who was the other cheap running back down there with no Tajay Spears getting ruled out and this and that? The ChalkChalk is the most popular, highly owned play on a slate. The term comes from sports betting, where the favorite is called the chalk.Don't label chalk good or bad. Ask whether each popular play deserves its ownership, then decide which chalk you'll eat and which you'll fade.Read the full definition of Chalk Tennessee D.

33:31

So if you go to his defense, let's see how much Tennessee Titans he had. Field. Field. Field. Yeah. So I say that to say he matched the field of the cheap running backs and went in, picked one guy in that same range to give similar roster type construction that everyone wanted because it made a lot work. And really went in on it.

33:57

He didn't just sprinkle in this guy because of what if he actually took us serviceable stand and said, okay, if I have Pollard, I want enough Pollard to get the similar type Roster ConstructionRoster construction is how you organize a DFS lineup within its salary cap and roster rules. It includes where you spend or save, which positions you prioritize, and how your players fit together.Build two versions around your biggest spending decision, then compare every player who changes. Revisit the comparison when injury news changes the available value.Read the full definition of Roster Construction that I like based on what I'm seeing and going in. And how do you do that? Because it was very hard to do so. Well, I'm going to, Fields level, Woods Marks, he probably assumed right around thirty percent.

34:20

So he was in between twenty five and thirty percent in his portfolio and field level with with Braylon Allen. Right. So that's like portfolio manipulation to one on one right there, which I think is really sharp. The other thing, too, is.

34:33

Matching right the the field in Jordan Love he probably projected Jordan Love to be right around twenty percent well shocker it came in higher probably because some of the LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Read the full definition of Leverage stuff in the morning window um did did good so more people probably swapped on to Jordan Love which is an uh important thing to know as well um in in doing so where did he go overweight he went to overweight on the other quarterback in that range that was in a good spot in cj Stroud it didn't work out but he had double the field on a guy like CJ Stroud.

35:06

Kyler Murray, another cheap quarterback, triple the field, right? So that's how you kind of look at portfolio manipulation. And that's why this site is so powerful, especially now with the ability to search names, sort by position. He's doing a ton of work over there to make this better.

35:23

And I mean this is literally like you go in you're going into the super bowl you hand the other team your playbook and say on first down these are the plays we're going to run on second down these are the plays we're going to run nobody would do that in the right mind but you have a tool available for the potential to win millions of dollars and people don't want to spend thirty dollars a month using code ship it to get access to this it's literally a poker playbook it's a d it's a DFS playbook results study without having to have consent from all these players you can literally do it yourself it takes a little work um so I can't speak highly enough

36:04

About this site I use it every day I'm in here constantly and um I've had my best start to an NFL main SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. It determines which events your player selections can come from and which performances count toward your score. Before building, open the contest details and check the included events, scoring period and lock rules. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Read the full definition of Slate season Since I started DFS, since I really put a bunch of time into learning and understanding this and looking on the evergreen stuff you can pull out, not just, oh, you needed this guy because he scored thirty points. Well, no shit. That's that's the result. The process leads to results.

36:28

Yeah, I think another interesting thing, too, is just like when you see let's go to OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Read the full definition of Ownership for a second. Obviously, Woods Marks in a great spot yesterday, et cetera, et cetera. So you look and see that, you know, he's twenty three percent owned is what he came in at. And then you go do the same thing. And, you know, the Texans were getting ownership and people were playing them together and all that. We talk about the slice and dice. All the time.

36:50

So you had a defense in the Titans, which people always love running back with Defense/Special Teams (DST)Defense/Special Teams (DST) is a roster selection representing one NFL team's combined defense and special teams, rather than an individual player. It earns fantasy points through sacks, takeaways, defensive and return touchdowns, and other plays, with adjustments for points allowed.Compare what a DST upgrade costs elsewhere in your lineup. If paying more forces you off an important offensive role, check whether a cheaper defense offers a credible path through sacks and turnovers.Read the full definition of Defense/Special Teams, but they don't always go DST with running back. It's the exact same thing. Once the lineup spilled, I'm talking about the concept and how you think about it though. Right? A lot of people say Woods Marks and I like the Texans D. A lot of people were saying, I like the Titans D and didn't flip. You like the D with Woods Marks because obviously they're going up against J.J.

37:14

McCarthy, possibly James if he comes in or something, but then you also have the pairing that you like. But if the Titans D are putting themselves in the position And then you get the news right Lineup LockLineup lock is the deadline after which you cannot change your selected players. Without late swap, your entire lineup locks together; with late swap, which allows edits after the contest begins, players lock at their games' listed deadlines. After saving an edit, reopen your entered lineups and confirm the change reached every intended entry. Check the site's displayed lock times and time zone instead of relying on the television schedule.Read the full definition of Lineup Lock that Spears is out. Not that it was a big boost from that perspective. I'm just saying the concept of being able to put two and two together. It's just funny how things register different for people. It doesn't even mean you're always going to play them together.

37:37

It's just the concept of if you're saying the running back's good, And that's going to put them up so that then the D is in place to tee off. It can be flipped. If the D is going to put them in place to tee off, then it can be the tee. Look, how did Tony Pollard get what he got in the first quarter? The D turned it over.

37:53

He did his job and then the D turned it over and he did his job again. And then there was other opportunities throughout. It's yes, you need some luck and things like that. But the concept of like Tony Pollard never has good games and it's all just luck. Yeah, like in yesterday's version, he got a good game and had some luck go his way.

38:09

But the theory behind the builds and behind the thought process of like, if everyone's already on the D, aren't you saying that D is good? And they're going to put themselves in the position where, yes, a running back could take it from there and get the job done. So kind of interesting just the way people think about things and see it. So like that call out quite a bit.

38:28

But my big takeaway was like, you did still get away with overall, if we switch to all, This is the Person that won the million dollars. Congrats again. But you look at like CMC. Okay. Result. Good enough. Result. You know what I mean? Twenty twenty two points. Kate Otton. Forty percent Kate Otton. How's that zero? Thirty percent Ted Hurst. How's that zero? Oh, they must have sucked then. They played all these guys. Yeah. Pollard. Cool. Came through, but Kittle only got fifteen.

38:55

Bijan bust with seventeen. Woody Marks didn't even crack ten. Nico, twenty-six percent for a two. Twenty-five percent on Parkinson for nine. Are you crazy? Only sixteen. Like, look at how many busts. But it doesn't matter because it's a portfolio, right? You got a full lineup. You got a full set here. It's all built in the accordance of giving yourselves the opportunity to have one lineup. A one lineup is going to win. A hundred and forty nine are not going to win.

39:21

It only takes one to come through. And if you look and scroll down. There's your two twenty five. Look at the Delta next best lineup. One eighty three. Belman and I were on last week when everyone was giving you probably watched it. They think you were in the chat. Oh, why would they ever play Penix when you could play Winston? Yeah, they did. They played the lineup. You begged for them to play and told them they're an idiot for not playing.

39:42

They played that. It won them two hundred dollars. The other version that you're talking shit about won them a million dollars. So how's that? How's them apples? You know what I mean? And then you look at this one, it's like, oh, his portfolio sucked. Must be nice to sneak one through. It's the name of the game. Like you said, portfolio manipulation. I talk about this all the time, but you can play your portfolio to have it so that you've got, it's your portfolio.

40:04

It's just like someone who buys stocks. You can put it all on a blue chip. You can risk it all, gamble it all because you're young and you want to put it on AI stocks or things like that that you think are going to pop and go off. You can do that. Or you can mix it. You can say, I got eighty percent of this, ten percent of this or fifteen percent of this. And the last five, I'm going to gamble with a little bit.

40:23

You can do whatever you want. It's your portfolio. So the way you manipulate it and move stuff around and make it work in your favor and take your stances and all of those things are important. And to Nades' point, that's what happens. A lot of people just come into this and look and go, okay, must be nice. Got lucky. He's got, you know, all these guys on here that didn't do well, but he somehow had all the Pollard. Somehow had. Like, you know what I mean?

40:47

Somehow he didn't just- You want to know how he had it? Right here's a prime example, Tambo. Like, filter to his team exposure to Green Bay. Every because because the counter argument to what we're saying that people could say right is the devil's advocate is, oh, this guy just played everyone. He did it. Look at his Green Bay. He's under every single player on Green Bay. Fifteen percent Golden, ten percent craft.

41:10

He matched the field with love because his value at quarterback was too hard to stomach a fade. But all the other guys, like he's UnderweightYou are underweight in DFS when a player, team stack or lineup combination appears in a smaller percentage of your entries than in the contest field's entries.Compare the same contest, format and roster slot. Use projected ownership before lock, then check actual ownership afterward to see whether your intended underweight stance held.Read the full definition of Underweight on, filter to Detroit. He's underweight on everyone on Detroit besides three guys, which he was just trying to match the field with. And it was probably just – but where was he overweight? Click on the Rams. He was overweight on everyone on the Rams. He matched the field with Higbee.

41:34

But when he was matching the field with Higbee, he went – An extreme stance on a four percent on Kobe Parkinson because he was in on the Rams offense as a whole to have success. Right. Kyron Puka, Parkinson, Stafford. Wild. Right. It's not rocket science. He didn't play everyone. That's just the poor man's cop out of. I don't want to really put time into improving and digesting.

41:59

What one yeah the lineup that got a million bucks is the lineup that won but looking at how he set himself up to have that because if you don't go underweight to Dallas or to Green Bay and Detroit well your portfolio is going to be very heavily skewed towards that game because ProjectionsDFS projections estimate a player's fantasy points for an upcoming slate using expected opportunities, performance and the contest's scoring rules. More times they're going to err on the side of way overweight to get over leveraged because the projections in the point per dollar wise on that game specifically looks too good. He spit in. I don't want to be overweight.

42:47

I want to be underweight on the most popular game on the SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. Right. The Matt Stafford of the world, the higher price, the top end quarterbacks, when he knows the field, if they're going up there is going to Jared Goff. He's not going to Jared Goff. He's going to the two guys that can beat Jared Goff. And then he's also not playing the guy.

43:09

And all the weapons that everybody else does want to at that low $6,000 range in Jordan Love, right? So that's where you can learn and really dig through and look through this at not just his, but pick out your favorite pro, your McLovin's of the world, the Unicals of the world, whoever you deem as this is the best player in my mind for how I play. You can do it. And the site continues to get better. There wasn't availability to filter this.

43:35

You had to really kind of dig through it. Now you can search names. You can filter. You can look at his flex usage. You can look at every single one of his one hundred and fifty lineups and look how it put the puzzle together. So this is the kind of level of review that you should be including in your process. Instead of making excuses, oh, I didn't win. Again, Tambo told me this. Nades told me that. Hoop told me that. None of the shit worked.

43:56

Well, what did you do for yourself, right, to do this? We can't enter your lineups for you. We can just help put you in a position to take the pieces and put the puzzle together yourself in a way that makes sense to you. Yeah, well said. I think that's what we're saying too, is like when you're looking into this stuff, you want to use it to your advantage. And maybe some don't know how to do it.

44:16

That's what we're trying to educate you on and explain to you of how we're using it. But like, it's also, you know, what did he do with the ChalkChalk is the most popular, highly owned play on a slate. Ask whether each popular play deserves its ownership, then decide which chalk you'll eat and which you'll fade.Read the full definition of Chalk? Well, he played Woods Marks around the field, right? He probably thought he was coming in around twenty five percent. He took the number he got twenty six point seven. But then how did he handle that beyond that? Well, he said also, let me get some C.J.

44:34

Stroud and Nico Collins a way to leverage that. That chalk. You know what I mean? You can see that and look at it. You talked about his Rams coverage. It's like, here's a spot that it's like kind of mediocre ownership. Not many people are going to it. I'm going to take some heavy stands here. I'm going to get double the field on Puka.

44:50

I'm going to get a bunch of Parkinson and then I'm going to get Stafford in here at almost ten percent of my lineups as well. When he's coming in at two or three percent, he ended up coming in at So just how somebody handles the chalk, how they don't use it. If you look, like you said, on the Green Bay point you mentioned, you can sort it by ownership here and see right away.

45:08

He didn't go away from it completely, but he took a much higher or much more of an underweight stance against The FieldThe field is everyone else entered in a contest, the group of lineups you are competing against. Before you build, picture the typical lineup in your contest. Then decide on purpose where you'll match it and where you'll step away from it.Read the full definition of The Field there. And don't take this for gospel. This is the part I hate about all these sites just whipping something up and coming together. I've talked to a bunch. I get approached so often. I like how Josh does it at DFSOS. Look, there's been $5,000 three hundred sixty five total tracked contests. This is the breakdown right now.

45:36

And it tells you at the bottom, this is a multi-year DraftKings contest data. It's not trying to put this guy on blast for his P&L or but how much did he profit? It's showcasing that I think he knows what he's doing. You don't just show up and win five point six million dollars. And that's not the real number. He's been playing longer for sure. And he's got other sites and all that.

45:56

So it's not to say like he might even sit there and say, hey, or they I don't know who he is, but I'm said like they might sit there and say, I've actually won way more than that. And you probably have. They definitely have won more than this. But no one's trying to say it or shit on them and say, look, here's your P&L over the last five years or something like that. That's what I'm seeing from these sites. And they don't even have accurate data.

46:14

So to me, that shoots your credibility and your reputation right out of the gate. You're useless. You're using shitty data. You don't have it scraped. You don't have all the stuff beyond. I like how Josh says, hey, it's connected. It's up to date, but only from here and only for what we've got. It's really just to showcase like, does someone have the capability?

46:32

I've had this debate for years with people about like, oh, but don't learn from anybody who wins all the time, but isn't profitable. Again, make your own decision. I get it. I understand where you're coming. I'm not trying to like take a side. I'm just noting it, that it comes up often. If someone can like, someone could win MillieMakers all the time, but have shit Bankroll ManagementBankroll management is how you size your DFS spending relative to the money you have set aside to play, called your bankroll, so normal losing streaks do not wipe you out.Write down your per-slate limit before the season starts. 46:53

Don't take their bankroll management advice, but if they're teaching about how to win tournaments, they probably know how to win tournaments. So you can't control what everybody else does. Not everybody knits it up or only plays the big ones when they win tickets or has a very set structure to how they do things. It's just, you know, typically those people don't stay in the game for as long as some of us have.

47:12

But I will note that it's like all I'm looking at here is to say I already knew this about them, but it's not a surprise that they won the Million Maker yesterday. If you don't think there's something you can take away from that... Look up somebody else. Like Nate said, you can go to play. Go to click the leaderboard. And this is a prime example. Like, obviously, everyone knows that's playing serious DFS knows you as a freak.

47:32

I think he's the best player in the world. All sports. You click it. So if you hit the X there, Tam, well, just so people can kind of see this when you're on player profile, scroll up to the top or go to player profiles on the left hand side. And then hit the leaderboard, and right there, click Yuta's name, and you can see this. Like, it's not just one sport. Like, everything is there.

47:53

Like, this is a player that you should probably want to take a look at and see how he manipulates a portfolio, obviously, and extrapolate out into your stakes, your contest that you play. Because guess what?

48:04

If he's beating the best players in the world, the whales, the sharks of the world, there's a good chance that you can pull some strategy out from his portfolio manipulation, looking through all of the stuff that's available on here to see and extrapolate it out into your stakes, whether it's the one dollar Twenty-MaxA twenty-max contest lets each user enter up to 20 lineups. Right. I don't play the high stakes. But do you think I skip all this analysis and looking through all these guys and see how it can apply to my portfolio and my products and my teams and sports and things that I'm playing? Absolutely. Like this is everything is there. You can look through everything. And I mean, it's not just by chance you win probably at this point over a hundred million dollars. Oh, it's definitely over.

48:48

I've been playing for ten years beyond what this will ever host. He's been playing since $2,000 ten or something. So it's like this only shows twenty twenty. So it's it's it's really more again. That's why I said I don't like when people are sitting there saying like, oh, that's not like it's just showcasing that, like you said, and people know you to cast. It's totally different. Obviously, it's good.

You can see he was way under on Golden, under on McCaffrey, way over on Gibbs. So even if he was coming in at twenty to twenty five, he didn't care. He was already playing a bunch of Gibbs and He was under on Love. He was under on Kittle. He was way under on Marks. He was over on Bijan. So he attacked it as double for the most part.

50:12

These are going to be in a lot of the lineups, you know, at sixty and sixty six percent playing double Spending UpSpending up means choosing a higher-priced player over a cheaper alternative, using more of your lineup's salary budget at that spot. You may also hear it called paying up.Build a version with your preferred expensive player and another without. Before choosing, check whether either version relies on a cheap player whose expected role still depends on unresolved injury news.Read the full definition of Spending Up running back there. And then who else did he have big? If you go down and look, Kyron, another pay up, forty percent. Still in on Ted Hurst to the field. Still about right on Amin Ra with the field. About, you know, with Jamin with Coker and that. And then you see.

50:32

But yeah, it's just interesting to see how different people handle it and how they play. One thing I will say that you can do as well is find somebody who you think matches your game. If you're a twenty max player and you constantly see the same names at the top of the twenty max that aren't the McLovin's or Uticao's of the world of the names you know the most, but somebody that you respect and you're like, damn, I know that they play my stakes.

50:57

I see them all the time. They're always kind of having good runs at it, though. That's where you can use this to your advantage and look it up and see what they do. And it's not saying to copy them one for one. I had this conversation with somebody yesterday in the DFS Mastermind Discord, Nades, just about going back to the basics. And... I don't want anyone to copy anyone's strategy.

51:17

It's not necessarily about that of like one for one, like what they do, I have to do because you won't always know. And it's also what data do they input? How are they manipulating the data once they've inputted, et cetera, et cetera. But getting information and using that to your advantage of ways you can apply it to your own process is definitely a possibility. Like if somebody says, hey, I use the stone at Ship It Nation.

51:39

And then I take Optimal LineupAn optimal lineup is a legal roster that maximizes fantasy points under the salary cap and roster rules. After games, it uses actual scores; before games, a projected optimal uses estimated scores and any lineup restrictions you set. When reviewing an optimal, replace its most surprising scorer with a realistic pregame alternative. Check whether the remaining construction still offered a credible path to winning your contest.Read the full definition of Optimal Lineup rates and the good spots. And then I put it into SaberSim. And then I, you know, I turn off guys in SaberSim and I make my pool based off of the stone. I'm talking about myself here. And then I say, okay, I look at with twelve quarterbacks in there. What ones actually pop out as like the better lineups? Because it's not just about a quarterback or a stack.

51:59

It's what does it do for the rest of the lineups? We're playing a game of lineups. You got to have it all correct. Okay. Then I see that three or four of those quarterback stacks do shit. I don't want to my lineups and I don't need, I don't have high exposure to those ones anyway, or certain guys in them. So to me, I can then break it down to a smaller Player PoolA player pool is the set of players you consider using in your DFS lineups for a slate, the games or events included in a contest. The term can also mean everyone available to select in that contest.Keep a replacement beside each uncertain player, noting the salary and position you need. Recheck those alternatives when news changes so your shortlist still produces usable lineups.Read the full definition of Player Pool. And then I get to the number of whatever I get to.

52:20

It's not a magic number of lineups. It's down to whatever I'm comfortable with and how I'm assessing the SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. It determines which events your player selections can come from and which performances count toward your score. Before building, open the contest details and check the included events, scoring period and lock rules. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Read the full definition of Slate. If it's a week, like last, like yesterday, your decision is probably bigger on Jordan Love. You have a quarterback where it wasn't spread out as much as we usually have it. It was heavier on that game and for good reason going in. But if it's a normal week, it's typically spread out anyway. So you'll see like Hoop always talks about it.

52:44

You'll have eight to ten percent on a quarterback, but then they're, they're wide receivers or tight ends or, or other pass catchers or different things. Running backs maybe will be at higher ownerships. And then you're making different stances there. You saw with the winner of the million maker yesterday for the Fields on Woods Marks, but then also was over on Collins and on Stroud. So it was like using that as a decision-making spot for the slate.

53:10

So lots of different things you can do here. I do want to look at the one fifty million maker. Do you have anything else on that that you wanted to add? No, overall, I think, I mean, we're partnered with the site, but we're not tasked with selling for them. I mean... Yeah, by the way, you don't have to be on half price, but it's an affiliate agreement. So it's like, if you use it, you use it, you don't, you don't.

53:31

I'm just showing you where you can get it and it's all organized. Somebody asked about AI yesterday in the Discord as well. And it's like, a lot of AI is built into stuff, but it's assisting, it's building, it's organizing, it's putting it all together. People that are just going into...

53:45

Um ai with blind or without this information or knowledge or anything saying hey I like these guys build me a good lineup probably not working out for you yeah and speaking on ai like uh I I mean I call myself kind of an ai master class because I've spent thousands of hours it feels like at this point getting it and checks notes you can use ai to help on this site as well and really help analyze that kind of stuff instead of going through it right so from an automated autumn is autumn getting like more less

54:17

Less manual right labor to kind of research it you can have it do it for you right so that's like good use cases of AI not hey here's here's what this show this show and that show said build me a lineup well now you just built the same same lineup as everyone else and all the other hundred thousand people that watch those sites and heard this and that right so It's like, it's just prompting in general, but you know, you, people use AI image generation and they all get the same shitty thing.

54:42

That's like from, uh, you know, like the, you see it in your Facebook groups, your neighborhood, like the mom's bake sale and all this, it's all the same shit with like the crazy graffiti looking writing and all that. But it's like when someone does AI image generation, some are doing Like, Hey, give me a picture. There's a funny joke. And it shows like the, get me an image of this. And it's the shittiest prompt of all time.

55:01

And it draws like a stick figure of a guy walking a dog. And it's like me and my dog, you know, in the mountains, give me a picture of that. And it's like, that's what it gets. But if you, the, the people that are prompting it to the max are like, Give me a cinematic version of myself in realistic version of this. Use an eighteen by fifty five millimeter lens. Put the setting here. Focus on this. Focus in on it. Like it's a prop like this.

55:26

And then they get like the most beautiful image ever of like Buddy with his dog up on a mountain looking off into the, you know, tons of detail and all these different factors and the blurs where it's supposed to be. And it's like, yeah, it can do kind of whatever, but you, it's how, how you're prompting it. And that reminds me of DFS where it's like I said, people are like, Oh, I saw, you know, a logo up top.

55:49

So I better go sign up for that site. And even our own, I'll use ours. Like, you know, I better go sign up for Ship It Nation. The logos are all over the top. It's probably a good reason. Like there's a reason they're up there. But I can tell you the people with the logos up top are putting in the work. They didn't just magically press a button and land at the top. Of that. We talked earlier about our guy, uh, coach Sab.

56:09

Yeah. He's been here every year with us on the show. I've been doing the show for years. He's been here. So, uh, you know, at Ship It Nation. So he's, he's in it right now saying I'm an AI nerd. You can successfully create any type of platform to help you with your process, but there is no easy button. I'm not paying him to say this. He just chimed in at the exact same time, but it's just noting it.

56:25

It's like things like that where people just want to press the easy button always. That's not what this is. And that's why this show gets the least views of any show that we do. It's not really about that. It's for us to work on it for ourselves. And if others want to do it, awesome. If they don't, they're missing out. That's on them, right? It's like you deposit again and go play the next SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. It determines which events your player selections can come from and which performances count toward your score. Before building, open the contest details and check the included events, scoring period and lock rules. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Read the full definition of Slate and hope to win again and probably going to get those results.

56:48

It's hard enough, by the way, Nate, it's not to keep going on this tangent, but it's hard enough to win as it is when you are putting in all the work. So the people that are literally just showing up on Sunday or the Sunday show and saying, give me the picks and plays and hope to get it right and then wondering why they're failing. Well, that's because the people that are busting their ass are still failing at times.

57:06

So I just have more faith in them if I'm betting on anybody that they're going to come through over time because they're putting in the work than the ones that aren't. No, exactly. Yeah, for the hundred hundred fifty dollar Milly Maker. Obviously, the scores are going to be a little bit different, but not much. There's just more separation of deltas across the players. Obviously, when you have much less right entrance, you're at $16,000 instead of one hundred and whatever.

57:32

Thirty, forty, $50,000, whatever the twenty dollar Milly Maker is. I don't even play that contest. So. I don't know, but yeah. We said it was two twenty five. This is two. Yeah. Yeah. Very similar. Yeah. So like I mean, and it's very obviously right. What if if I would have just played this year, I would have won one hundred grand. Yeah. But it also would have costed way more money to max out on this and stuff like that, too.

57:57

So like that's another thing of process and reviewing. Don't be results oriented in a way that, oh, if I just played this there.

58:05

I would have won this but yeah like your process doesn't allow for you to play that there to get that potential result that you would have had right so like that's another thing to realize as well but a lot of the same stuff you're going to see here uh but it's still like going back like even here right like the highest one of the highest stakes tournaments right a hundred and fifty dollar entrance hundred hundred what fifty max in this contest yeah hundred fifty max so These are obviously going to be the majority of these guys are all going to be that are maxing it out.

58:36

Right. The pros that have Bankroll ManagementBankroll management is how you size your DFS spending relative to the money you have set aside to play, called your bankroll, so normal losing streaks do not wipe you out.Write down your per-slate limit before the season starts. Spending rules are much easier to keep when you set them before a losing streak, not during one.Read the full definition of Bankroll Management and built up bankrolls year in and year out. So you're going to see a lot of the same same stuff. But it's interesting to kind of look at a contest like this and then a contest like the twenty dollar Milly Maker where there's, quote unquote, a lot more casuals, a lot a lot more of just two entries here, three from this Person, five from that Person. Right. And look at how they kind of approach a contest like this.

58:58

But you're going to see a lot of the similar stuff.

59:00

Um in terms of the deltas of OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Read the full definition of Ownership right they kind of picked their spots right um on this one so I see from swidby here Drake London right took a big stance on Drake London be willing to bet if he went over to running back he took an UnderweightYou are underweight in DFS when a player, team stack or lineup combination appears in a smaller percentage of your entries than in the contest field's entries.Compare the same contest, format and roster slot. Use projected ownership before lock, then check actual ownership afterward to see whether your intended underweight stance held.Read the full definition of Underweight or field level or underweight on bijan and exactly that's exactly the case right so like just going through this further I think it is super interesting super beneficial you can take a look at their flex usage right like it's a very common theme Flex and UTILA standard NFL FLEX accepts a running back, wide receiver or tight end. In DraftKings NFL Showdown, FLEX instead means a regular-scoring slot alongside Captain, with broader eligibility that includes quarterbacks. Before lock, identify affordable replacements for your latest starter. An open FLEX or UTIL slot helps only if suitable unlocked players remain within your budget.Read the full definition of Flex and UTIL usage across obviously all the winners because that's more of a product of the result but going in right like They ate the tight end value.

59:39

Right. In terms of the flex, because that's where the value was. They used the running back because there was a ton of value at running back. Right. So pretty much all these portfolios are going to see a big shift in a big swing towards tight end heavy flex. Number one, running back heavy flex. Number two. And then wide receiver is just kind of the product of spreading across one hundred and fifty lineups. So that's one of the big things that you can pull there.

1:00:04

But I think you're going to see very similar results here. So I'll throw it back to you in terms of what you see here. But it's very similar to what we just reviewed in the twenty dollar. Yeah, of course, it's going to be similar. I think I like looking at sort of what the people I know and respect do. Grex is the man, always crushing across multiple sports. Got to meet him and his girl at a few different live finals, just crushing it.

1:00:26

Usually it's the golf streets I'm seeing him in, just continuing on the success in football, a hundred thousand. Obviously the winner, congrats to Swid B. Got it done, go through that in a second. Ski basher, super underrated because amazing player that just a lot of people don't follow or track. I like looking at like Grex, Ski Basher, RS Bathla, multi-time Milly Maker winner. Fantasin. My boy Fantasin, Guillaume. These guys I'm going to look at. But even then, it's tough.

1:00:54

Guillaume plays way more volume and higher stakes stuff. Obviously, I still care how he applies to this particular tournament and have the most respect. He's my GOAT. I was talking about Yuta. Him and Yuta are up there. Peter Gibbons up there. These guys are all the best to me. But I honestly think the way... I would play and track is more like Grex or Ski Bash or those guys that, again, it's not because they finished higher here overall.

1:01:19

I'd much rather have the bankroll of Fantasin or Uticao or those guys and be able to be up at that level. But it's not my focus and what I'm playing at right now. I'm playing to play the best I can play and win as much as I can possibly win with my bankroll, with the tournaments I play and with my discipline. Like we talk about all the time when I don't have tickets, I'm not going up. There's weeks I don't play the mega.

1:01:38

People are like, oh, aren't you a pro? Don't you play the Met? Like I would like to, but I'm not going to go throw five grand at it if I didn't win my way in because that's how I've always done it. And that's what's worked for me. And I feel comfortable doing that. I wake up fine on Monday and it's fine. It's good. But awesome to see some of these lineups. I think like this is interesting here with Ski Basher.

1:01:56

And this is just what came through for them. But like, and it's for third, it's not even the winner, but like Bo Nix, Jalen Waddle, Trey McBride. And then you see how they filled it out though. Like I like this more too. Like, so it's just a unique stack. That makes sense. A two one, right? You got Bo next with Waddle, run it back with McBride, still too tight end. Like you could get too easily on this SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Read the full definition of Slate. It made a ton of sense.

1:02:19

You're okay. You're going to be on McCaffrey and Allen. Good shock. And that actually came, you know, pretty much came through. Twenty-two for McCaffrey. I know people wanted more, but it was fine. He got injured and all that stuff. But I'm noting it's like you're already different enough with Knicks, Waddle, and McBride. But they don't just stop there. You know, you got Pitts. And people say, why Pitts? Well, if you're not playing Bijan, and most are, that makes sense.

1:02:41

Well, if you're not playing Coker like everybody was or anything with Bryce Young or all that, that's fine. Wherever you land. Oh, but they didn't get a piece of, you know, they're not high on the Green Bay Detroit game. That's fine. Pick up a balanced piece. Very Balanced BuildA balanced build spreads salary fairly evenly across a lineup, using mostly mid-priced players instead of a few stars and several minimum-salary players.Go balanced when the slate lacks trustworthy cheap plays. Forcing stars and scrubs without real value just fills your lineup with players who have no role.Read the full definition of Balanced Build again too, by the way, right? Like you have a $7,000 and a $7,000. But it's a $5,000 $6,000 five, eight point eight $4,000 five, $6,000. Like these guys are all in that range.

1:03:03

T Higgins as a piece there. So I really like this bill just to showcase how you don't have to go completely off the board. Like you still have stuff that can get there. And then in the Deshaun lineups, you know, they, they fit with Pollard, but it's like Deshaun Pollard, Concepcion with Wandale. And so we talked about this, um, Blickle and I, a bunch of times about the, we just talked about this past week.

1:03:27

I talked about it with Stroud, Nico Collins, Nabers, and Likely it's like, I don't know about McCarthy and Winston and what's going to happen there. And like Winston coming in to run tush pushes and all this stuff. But if I just go with the Nico him, I get, I move off of Woods Marks. But then I also get two guys from the other side that can just rack up the points. Well, if you've got Deshaun and Concepcion, what's going to push them?

1:03:49

Pollard and Wandale. What else do you got here? Well, I'm not on CMC, so I'll play the popular Kittle instead. I'm going to get a piece of the game that the guy that can just break it wide open. And by the way, There's Grex's story for whatever his sweat was last night. Are you kidding me? Like five points away with the highest Gibbs. How good does that feel? And then only to watch this guy just get stuffed all these times. So everybody has a story the next day.

1:04:15

Of when their close call was just, you know, it's right there. So shout out the Grex, but you know, Buccaneers with Bucky, the Bucky squared. We talked about it yesterday. If you're not on Carolina, the T Higgins One-OffIn NFL DFS, a one-off is a player you select outside your stacks, commonly a running back or a receiver without his quarterback. An opposing receiver intentionally paired with your stack instead serves as a bring-back.Before adding a one-off, compare him with an affordable teammate of your existing stack. Decide whether his individual upside is worth passing up that extra scoring connection.Read the full definition of One-Off was a common theme across these winners, the big day he had, but there's a reason we had him in there. It's like, he still is attached to Burrow. He builds a balance build. He doesn't, you can't get to Ja'Marr Chase.

1:04:35

Well, then you kind of want to hope it's through Higgins then. If it's a big Chase day, you're already in trouble anyway if you don't have that type of setup. And then the rest of it just made sense. So I like that lineup. The winner, Swid B, was Deshaun with Concepcion, Fannin, and Pollard. It had CMC and George Kittle. It then allowed him to get Buccaneers D, Puka Nacua, and T. Higgins. Anything you want to add on that, Nades, or anything there?

1:05:02

I think it's all good stuff.

1:05:04

The one thing real quick on ski bashers I think what was the popular right Mini-StackIn NFL DFS, a mini-stack usually pairs two players from the same game without either team's quarterback. Often a secondary group beside your main quarterback stack, it can pair a running back with an opposing receiver. Before locking a pair, describe how both players reach big scores together. Then ask whether that outcome would make an omitted quarterback or teammate difficult to beat.Read the full definition of Mini-Stack bijan and if they were playing bijan they were playing Kittle right so flipping it to cmc which obviously seemed people were playing cmc but flipping it with instead of bijan Kittle McCaffrey pitts in the same game right and pitts also leverages off all those other cheap mid-range tight ends that everybody wanted to play right most people having jamo as a One-OffIn NFL DFS, a one-off is a player you select outside your stacks, commonly a running back or a receiver without his quarterback. An opposing receiver intentionally paired with your stack instead serves as a bring-back.Before adding a one-off, compare him with an affordable teammate of your existing stack. Decide whether his individual upside is worth passing up that extra scoring connection.Read the full definition of One-Off here Instead of Pitts, would have tried to find a way to get to Kraft, right?

1:05:35

And did the JMO Kraft, which, hey, obviously would have still worked out, right? And probably would have got him, what, another point or so, whatever. But that's one thing I wanted to call out, too. And the T. Higgins play, right, is like – Who else is in that range? Well, Malik Nabers projected to be very high on Christian Watson and Matthews Golden. He's sandwiched between those, right? The same, same stuff we talked about earlier. If people weren't playing Braylon Allen, right.

1:06:01

People wanted to kind of find a way maybe to get to the Garrett Wilson in that range. Right. So like it, that it's just that mid $6,000 range where everyone else wanted to play Golden coker, Christian Watson tap for a little bit more or Malik Nabers in that same exact range. Right.

1:06:16

So like just playing a guy that can get there, that, that, doesn't need his quarterback right whereas chase doing and this is part of the review process and doing and really kind of looking at it yourself right like I've done a ton of extensive research I know you have as well of when chase gets there it's almost ninety nine percent of the time attached to Burrow well that's because usually his price is prohibitive well whose price is in the same range that everybody was already playing plays from that would work in other lineups T. Higgins, right?

1:06:48

So like that's little things like that. It's not about, oh, T. Higgins scored twenty nine point eight. Obviously, you need him in that range. Well, yeah, people were already landing on this range and other plays that they thought in their head or ProjectionsDFS projections estimate a player's fantasy points for an upcoming slate using expected opportunities, performance and the contest's scoring rules. They describe an expected result, not a guaranteed score.Check the projection's update time and assumed role before using it. And that's talking about reverse engineering a process and what everyone feels like they can't get away from. And not playing a crazy, crazy play.

1:07:13

It's the fourth highest game total on the SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Read the full definition of Slate, right? T Higgins in the same range, everyone, he fits rosters. I'm not stretching my roster to go get him. He's just, I'm playing him where I could have played all of these other guys. I could have played the Matthews Golden at forty percent OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Read the full definition of Ownership as a secondary stack, Jamison Williams, right?

1:07:31

But if T Higgins beats Golden, well, now I let all of those lineups that are usually probably attached to Jordan Love or Jared Goff. And I'm probably already capped on that way anyways. Right. So why would I go in and do that and add more chalk in that? So like that, that's some of the stuff that I like to like to look at it. And it's very, very, very clear in the flips like that.

1:07:51

Like you talked about one, one thing if Josh is watching and I'll maybe I'll hit him up after, but I would love to see salary. Right here because then we can do some more comparisons. And then I'd also, whether you put like Den next to Bo Nix and put the salary there or even add it and just extend the box a little bit so we can get salary underneath it above this or something. I'd like to see it. Do you remember how much T Higgins was?

1:08:14

Was he $6,600? Yeah, T. Higgins was. And Nabers was. Wilson was. No, but wasn't Coker a . Yeah, Coker was . Golden was . So this is interesting, too. Like, I loved your call-out on the flip. This is Bijan and... And Kittle a lot more often than it's McCaffrey and Pitts. Even though McCaffrey is high-owned like Bijan, et cetera, you know how to slice and dice that is to play this. The other version is just super popular.

1:08:43

So he just flipped the same game, the same flip. And it's funny because people loved McCaffrey, and Pitts had a good game the week before, but now nobody wanted him. It's like it could be a thing. But one more interesting thing that I just saw is not only was it the – the setup of what did he have here? He had McCaffrey Allen and double tight end.

1:09:03

So he didn't have Bucky with this, but what is interesting is the popular defense of Tennessee Titans or the Jets with Braylon Allen or whatever it might be. And then bring this guy down to the popular coker. You can just say, I'm going to go to the guy nobody's really on in that range, go with the more Balanced BuildA balanced build spreads salary fairly evenly across a lineup, using mostly mid-priced players instead of a few stars and several minimum-salary players.Go balanced when the slate lacks trustworthy cheap plays. Forcing stars and scrubs without real value just fills your lineup with players who have no role.Read the full definition of Balanced Build with Tee Higgins, and yeah, it drops me down to the Tampa Bay defense, but I'm not on a popular coker.

1:09:30

So it's like a double whammy there as well. When you find the flips, it's fun. And it's not meant to be. People say, oh, he did it in an OptimizerAn optimizer is software that builds DFS lineups within a site's salary cap and roster rules. It uses projected fantasy points, your settings and, in some tools, simulations to select combinations for a chosen goal.Build a small test batch first. Check which players and combinations repeat, and investigate why before increasing the lineup count or changing settings.Read the full definition of Optimizer. I get it. But it's like, what you're not understanding is that most people are building ten or less lineups by hand. A lot of people don't use an optimizer at all. I can promise that because over at Ship It Nation, we actually started, we added the Stone 2.0.

1:09:53

And if you look here and go to NFL, we'll just go classic, the Stone 2.0. This is like people's favorite feature. We added the lineup hand builder where you can, again, it's not up, actually it still is, where you can go through and say, okay, let me sort by optimal or let me sort by salary or let me sort by OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. And you can start to say, okay, if I go Bo Nix, let me look at this.

1:10:14

All right, I'll sort it by the team. Broncos, I want Jalen Waddell. He's popping in blue here. Good ProjectionsDFS projections estimate a player's fantasy points for an upcoming slate using expected opportunities, performance and the contest's scoring rules. They describe an expected result, not a guaranteed score.Check the projection's update time and assumed role before using it. If news is already included, adjusting again for that same news can double-count its effect.Read the full definition of Projections. He's optimal. He's actually optimal LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. All right, let me go to tight end. Let's go back to sort it by price. All right, Trey McBride. Not nearly as optimal as some of these other guys, but let me have a look here and just see what I can do. Oh, I can see this one. Kittle is . And Bijan Robinson is twenty eight. And McCaffrey is thirty two for sure.

1:10:42

But he's cheaper than Bijan. And then let me go down here and go to Pitts, who's coming in at three point nine. I think he came in at three point six. We are very accurate. Still good. Still fine. Just a way to flip it that you can look at that and see. So little things that you can do, Nades. I mean, it just goes a long way. I don't think enough people spend time on trying to figure these things out.

1:11:01

But, you know, when people are hand building, finding these theories and then applying them to your hand builds is definitely... A good idea. Hey, man, shout out to Josh. This is Josh, by the way, owner of DFSOS.com, the founder. He says, salary view is a good idea. We'll get it in there. Great show, fellas. We appreciate you, man. Obviously doing a great job. If you guys want to check out what Josh is working on, he's busting his ass over at DFSOS.com.

1:11:26

You guys have seen it on the show today. Review, study, grade. You can do so much more. By the way, I barely scratched the surface. You can sign up for the free newsletter and find out daily. He sends it out every freaking day of who won. The day before. What were the SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. It determines which events your player selections can come from and which performances count toward your score. Before building, open the contest details and check the included events, scoring period and lock rules. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Read the full definition of Slate takeaways? It's free to read. Put your email in there, but go to dfsos.com.

1:11:44

If you want to get half off the founder pricing, it works out to twenty nine a month with code ship it and you get it for a dollar a day, basically less than a dollar a day. And you've got it locked in for twenty nine a month. So check that out. Check out Ship It Nation dot com. If you guys haven't already, we've got the site updates over there now.

1:12:02

If you're unsure and you've wanted to get involved, you can scroll down and actually take the sixty second quiz and go through and just tell it, hey, I only play NFL. I focus on a handful of entries. Right. I typically build one to five lineups right now. I build it by hand and I like it that way. Well, you could say that or you could build it by hand in this case. Build it by hand.

1:12:23

I'm just looking to try it out month to month. Great. The NFL only plan is the best for you. And then it comes with Stone 2.0 point oh and all this stuff. You can change the plan or you can go see plan details. It will take you right down to the NFL plan and you can go here and see what it covers. So Nate, anything else you want to add before we get out of here, man?

1:12:41

I just want to give a huge shout out to Josh. The site is way quicker, way faster, way, way easier to really digest. Like I say, I used AI to really analyze a bunch of this for me and kind of make that in that because I put a lot of trust in the site and know Josh is working his tail off.

1:12:59

I know tambo and I you've been talking you and I have been talking behind the scenes about this site and using this so I just want to give a huge shout out he's put a lot of time and energy um it's not easy right to have apis connected to all these sites and download this and DraftKings also right deletes contest entries after a couple days so you have to be on top of it like right away um so huge shout out to that it's just way more functional um super quick, it's instant.

1:13:25

But there was some lagging issues and stuff, which is any new site always has. So huge up to him and the team for really improving the functionality and the interface on it to make it really a lot less seamless or a lot more I guess, yeah, a lot less problems, right? Where normally people would have seen that and probably not have signed up because they said it takes a lot. So huge shout out to that.

1:13:52

And it's obviously going to continue to improve as we go. Yeah. Added a bunch more free stuff to over to Ship It Nation. Just to note for while people are here, like Gary says, hitting Chipotle and then back for the show at two. We do have the show at two PM. Eastern is the Monday night football Showdown (Captain and MVP)NFL Showdown lets you select players from one football game, including eligible quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, tight ends, kickers and team defenses. Your Captain or MVP receives the contest's scoring multiplier.Compare complete lineups with different players in the multiplier slot. Leaving salary unused can reduce duplication, but do not sacrifice meaningful scoring potential just to make your lineup unusual.Read the full definition of Showdown show, but the latest shows and articles are both free.

1:14:10

I'm going to show these quickly just because anybody watching this obviously wants to, you know, if you're still here, you're definitely interested in stuff like this. This is completely free. You can go to Ship It Nation.com. Just bookmark this page if you want. But the coolest thing is you can search for, So let's say you're like, Hey, I've never watched the takedown breakdown before, but I want to see takes with T A E K. That was a good one, but it's Monday.

1:14:30

Let me get away with it. So you could say, okay, I want to go back and check out the other takedown breakdowns because there is evergreen value in these shows. So you go to last week's show. You can find out all the topics from last week. We're talking about unconventional stacks and double runbacks. We just talked about the double Bring-BackIn the NFL, a bring-back is usually a wide receiver, tight end or running back from the team facing your quarterback stack.Pick the bring-back who gains the most when his team falls behind. In football that's usually the opponent's top pass catcher, not a running back who loses carries in a comeback.Read the full definition of Bring-Back in that lineup that we were just on there, right? You saw it there. You can see us reviewing those lineups.

1:14:51

You can talk about handling bad beats and staying disciplined, all the closing thoughts. You can go back in, see it by name, who we talked about, everybody that we talked about throughout the show. You can see all the terms that we use, right? You can see what that is. You can then go to the glossary. It's all in there. The glossary page has it built in. You can scroll down and have the actual transcript and then you can search it. Like, did they talk about LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Read the full definition of Leverage?

1:15:14

They did two different times during the show. And then you could see it. And all you're like, oh, I wish I could hear them talk about that. Nineteen fifty four. Boom. It brings you right to nineteen fifty four again. This is what I'm talking about when people are like, I'll just whip together the next thing. How about you make it useful for people and actually put something together, a resource that they can use for themselves? This is the way to do it.

1:15:34

And then more resources under articles. We're starting to get them out there. Even this is near and dear to Nades's heart. We even got an NHL. Section. Now that you can check out some of these articles over there, how to pick a goalie back to backs and rest, how the schedule affects the goalies and the lines and all that lineup building OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Read the full definition of Ownership and leverage again, fully free on shipitnation.com. You can bookmark this page. You can search, go to all sports.

1:15:57

Again, I'm just using a common word that we use on these shows, but you can search by leverage All these articles feature it somewhere in there when you search it out. So check it out. If you guys want to do it, go to shipitnation.com. You can find this. I wasn't under it, sorry, by the latest. You can see it here. These two have ownership and leverage in them, both written by me. So you guys can check this out. The glossary is there.

1:16:20

If you're a member, the free courses are all inclusive on the site, right? You can go check it out here. We've got the new update on this as well I'm seeing. So you can see what we cover. Go right directly to the course and then get in. But we've currently got courses for NFL, PGA, MLB, NBA, and MMA. So check it out, shibandasia.com if you guys want to get in. That's going to do it for this week, guys. Four dates for myself, Toe Tag, and Tambo.

1:16:44

Got to bring up one more content. Best site in the business. Not a paid ad. Appreciate you. Appreciate you as well. And shout out to Darden. Thank you for you and everybody else that congratulated me on the fun week. Good sweat. Let's get back at it tonight for Nades, for myself, Toe Tag, and Tambo. Good luck in your contest. Let's ship it.
