What Is Bankroll Management in DFS?

Bankroll management is how you size your DFS spending relative to the money you have set aside to play, called your bankroll, so normal losing streaks do not wipe you out.
Why It Matters
Even strong players lose most tournament entries, so risking a small slice per slate keeps you in the game long enough for skill to show. A common rule of thumb keeps a single slate to around 10 percent of your bankroll or less, with a smaller share when playing mostly GPPs. Only play with money you can afford to lose.
Example
Say you set aside $500 for DFS this season. Following a common 10 percent rule of thumb, you would put no more than $50 into one slate, perhaps $35 in cash games and $15 in tournaments. A bad week then costs you a manageable piece instead of half your bankroll, and you still have enough left to keep playing when your reads start hitting.
Write down your per-slate limit before the season starts. Spending rules are much easier to keep when you set them before a losing streak, not during one.
