From the archive. This breakdown is for the Wednesday, October 21 NBA slate. Salaries, weather and picks were for that day.
Rio Turner and Zach Trivett break down eleven games with underpriced midrange options supporting balanced builds or stars and scrubs. Dennis Schroder ($3,700) and Giannis Antetokounmpo ($10,000) are the starting point for single-entry lineups. Ty Jerome is an elite play even if ownership climbs sharply. Anthony Davis warrants overweight exposure with Trae Young creating easier looks, while Franz Wagner benefits from a larger ball-handling role.
Rui Hachimura ($5,400) gets the strongest closing endorsement, with increased usage and projected ownership around five percent. Isaiah Jackson, Kelly Oubre Jr. and Obi Toppin supply cheaper options. Ivica Zubac is an overweight target against New Orleans, and Naz Reid offers upside beyond his minutes projection. Charlotte's prices are attractive, but avoid overloading the lowest-total game. Preserve late flexibility for Deni Avdija news before committing to Portland's guards.
| Play | Call | The Take | At |
|---|---|---|---|
| VALUE | At $6,300, his preseason role and matchup with Trae Young make him the preferred Milwaukee guard, with a maximum of one Bucks guard suggested. | 6:09 | |
| FADE | No interest in playing him, with concerns about his rebounding and defensive decline. | 6:09 | |
| VALUE | At $7,800, his assist production and expanded offensive supporting cast make him a strong starting option. | 6:31 | |
| OVERWEIGHT | Want more than his already substantial projected ownership because a healthy Davis with a pass-first point guard has considerable upside against Myles Turner. | 7:13 | |
| FADE | Not playing him tonight because better center options exist and Anthony Davis takes away offensive opportunities and rebounds. | 7:36 | |
| LEVERAGE | At $5,500, his production across categories and strong preseason make him appealing when few people are expected to click his name. | 8:28 | |
| His efficient preseason scoring keeps him in consideration, but Ryan Rollins is preferred and a maximum of one Milwaukee guard is suggested. | 10:07 | ||
| VALUE | At $6,900, he is the best Orlando option because the offense is giving him more ball handling and playmaking responsibilities. | 12:11 | |
| Atlanta Hawks | UNDERWEIGHT | Plan to be lighter on Atlanta because its pricing is appropriate and better positional values exist, although lower actual ownership could bring exposure closer to the field. | 13:41 |
| Split assessment: his cheap salary and defensive stats are appealing, but reduced offensive involvement and projected ownership limit enthusiasm. | 15:36 |
Systems go. Clear for lift off. What is going on, everybody? Happy Wednesday. We are back talking some hoops with my man Rio. Eleven games on tap. You go from three yesterday to eleven today. Huge difference. FanDuel and DraftKings both decided to include all the games tonight. So you got seven p.m. Eastern all the way to ten thirty Eastern.

In DFS, it also affects opportunities for teammates and opponents. Before an uncertain player's game locks, identify an alternative you can afford at each affected position. Yeah, slate looks fun. We've got to definitely take advantage of these slates when we have them because I feel like the longer the season goes on, the more they're going to make the slate shorter, like with those one-hour windows or maybe two hours if we're lucky. So I would...
I'm definitely gonna be firing away tonight on this one because I think that there's a little bit of injury news at the end denny abdia that's basically it not I think if we had more slates like this would probably be bigger injury news late that you'd have to wait on I don't necessarily know if that is going to be tonight um but denny is a pretty big name so I definitely want to monitor that news uh you gotta shut out our guy roll tide last night got second place in the the twenty dollar um
For a $50,000 so shout out to him I don't know what his username is in our Discord but he had a really really good team over there Yeah, I was going to – if you beat me to it, I was going to shout out him as well. So shout out Roll Tide, second place, fifty Gs. Always great to see you. What's up, Sean, Jordan, I am Rice, Nate B, JP, Jason Turner, Parabai, wins a lot.
Could be Travis, Scooter, JP, Warren, Ken Linen, Scooter again. Great to see everybody. Hope you're having a great day. We got no time to waste. Loving games in the NBA is going to require a lot of work. Any broad slate overview, anything you want to mention?
Do you think these – Guys are too underpriced just relative to – do you think most players are underpriced on DraftKings and allows you to build pretty balanced slash lineups you feel really good about, or do you think pricing is pretty efficient? Because yesterday it was clearly underpriced for the majority of players.
Yeah I would say there's some spots that are appropriately priced that we'll get to but for the most part it does seem like a lot of the spots are underpriced a lot of uh changes in roles that we'll talk through as we go game by game but yeah it's kind of the same thing as last night I still see a SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Read the full definition of Slate where I want to kind of jam in mid-tier and like plays that I feel confident in but there are a handful of guys going through some of these teams that have some pretty solid values sub-$5,000 and even some of the $3,000 range so I think that there are there's a case to be made for Stars and ScrubsStars and scrubs is a DFS lineup structure where you spend heavily on several expensive players and fill other roster spots with low-salary players. The cheap players free up salary for the stars; they are not necessarily bad players.Compare the points you gain by upgrading to a star with the points you sacrifice at the cheap spot. Check whether both players still fit your lineup's scoring scenario.Read the full definition of Stars and Scrubs you got Yannis and Luca tonight
No yokich but two really two guys with a ton of upside uh but point guard position looks really strong small forward has some pretty good options and then Center has a couple guys and like that dead zone range that I really like I like it. Good initial breakdown, as you can see, just sorting by salary. Luka, Giannis, and then only one other player, Cooper Flagg, is the next highest price at $9,200.
So that will lead to Giannis being pretty popular, probably the most popular spend on this slate. We're going game by game, though. We're going to kick it off with the first game. How fitting. My Milwaukee Bucks taking on. The Washington Wizards, pretty solid total in this game, sitting at two thirty eight and a half, four and a half point favorites are the Wizards. Just going to sort by a point per dollar, obviously, on the buck side.
Whole new team without a I mean, you might as well just call it the heat, the heat squad. I mean, Hawkeyes, Kahlil Ware, Kasperis down here and. Who did I miss? I said, oh, Tyler Hero, of course. Coming over to the Bucs without Giannis. It'll be a new-look Bucs team. They waived KPJ, which says they're definitely confident in the backcourt of Rollins, of Hero. They might like Kaspers a little more than I initially thought. Got Berries as well. They drafted from Arizona.
But, yeah, new-look Bucs team taking on the Wizards, who I think is the more appealing option probably in terms of DFS on the SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. It determines which events your player selections can come from and which performances count toward your score. Before building, open the contest details and check the included events, scoring period and lock rules. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Read the full definition of Slate. AD at . Trey Young at seven, eight hundred two guys that seem a little underpriced on this slate, but I'll let you take it away. First game. Yeah, this game is definitely appealing to kick things off. Third highest over under on the slate. You have sweeping changes made across the rosters for both teams here.
Be the first time we see Trey Young and Anthony Davis in the regular season. Definitely prefer the wizard side of this game a little bit more. I think that they could have a. Really potent offense this year. We have, you know, we know how good AD can be when he's healthy. That's just a matter of him staying healthy.
Trae Young is a guy that has supplied some pretty good offenses in the past, and he has probably more offensive firepower that he's ever had in his career, I would say.
There are some question marks around like the youth of these guys but we know devansa is really good won't be playing tonight so that definitely hurts but keyshawn george is a guy that they're expecting to step up in a big way here alex sorrow was great last year so like guys like cool bali trey johnson uh bub carrington so I'm liking what I'm seeing from Washington for sure um As for DFS goes on the Milwaukee side, really only two guys in consideration for me, and that's going to be the guards, Tyler Hero and Ryan Rollins.
And if I'm choosing one, I would definitely lead with Ryan Rollins here. He's had a pretty solid role in the preseason. Hero was good too. He definitely was leading the team in usage, but he's going to have a much tougher matchup. I think it's going to be one of Keyshawn George or Kula Bali on Tyler Hero tonight. And they might be they might have to put Ryan Rollins or Trey Young and Ryan Rollins. It's definitely a matchup we've loved to attack in the past.
So I'm definitely excited about getting to some Ryan Rollins here at six point $3,000. I think it's a really good price tag in comparison. We saw from him last year. That's it, though. Like, I want to wait and see how good or bad this team is going to be. Never really have interest in Miles Turner. Kuzma, he's probably the worst player in the league now. I mean, it's just an absolute joke. And Hawkeyes, I think he'll have a pretty solid role.
But probably very similar to what we saw from him in Miami. And then Ware, too expensive. He's going to be split in time with Miles Turner. The Washington side, like I said, much more appealing. Trey Young at seven point $8,000, I think, is a really good starting point on the slate.
He had really good assist numbers in the preseason, which we have expected from him but there's a really high likelihood that he leads the NBA and assists the season he averaged uh eleven point two per thirty six in the preseason so those numbers definitely held true uh definitely think that he looks good here but I think I like anthony davis a little bit more at seven point $6,000 a healthy ad with a pass first point guard definitely something I'll be interested in got plenty of spacing on the court as well with sar keishon george cool
Volley able to just give him open looks around the rim and I mouse Turner is not the same defender that he was in the past I never really thought he was that great of a defender but a guy that could get some some good shot blocks at time. He's a terrible rebounder. So I think there's a lot of upside for a guy like Anthony Davis tonight. Definitely want to be overweight. His projected OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. And then Below him, probably not the spot for Alex Saar. I just think there's some better center options and going to be playing second field to AD, probably losing some rebounding stuff as well. His numbers in the preseason weren't that great. Definitely like him as a talent, but not going to go there tonight. And then I see Sabre had a pretty high ownership ProjectionsDFS projections estimate a player's fantasy points for an upcoming slate using expected opportunities, performance and the contest's scoring rules. They describe an expected result, not a guaranteed score.Check the projection's update time and assumed role before using it. If news is already included, adjusting again for that same news can double-count its effect.Read the full definition of Projections on Bilal Koulibaly. Ten percent right now. Actually, I'm taking our average, so maybe I – yeah, eleven percent they got.
Yeah, so that's kind of high, a little bit higher than I would expect for him. If I'm going cheap, I want to go to Keyshawn George. There's a lot of good things about him in the preseason, a guy that can kind of deliver in all categories. And he was great in the preseason, shot it really well. He averaged twenty three, five and four and over four stocks per thirty six minutes. And they're really high on him.
So I think that he's pretty good at five point five. I don't think anybody's going to be clicking that name.
I haven't projected a little bit higher a lot higher than what SaberSim has um so yeah I mean I'm in on him and then probably not the spot to go to a guy like trey johnson or anybody on the bench really uh fine with cool barley but just his usage role is not good so you're kind of betting on efficient shooting when he does shoot the ball and then like a a lot of rebounds and stocks I don't think that he's going to really add a ton anywhere else Yeah.
And I mean, an eleven game slate like this, especially like it doesn't matter, I guess, as much locking yourself into the first game versus the last because the Injury NewsInjury news is information about a player's health that can change whether they compete, how much they play or how effectively they perform. In DFS, it also affects opportunities for teammates and opponents. Before an uncertain player's game locks, identify an alternative you can afford at each affected position. But you still have more information, whether chalk boss, this and that. So I don't think I really need to get to these thin pieces. I will say the Wizards, though, definitely. I know we talked about, I think, last week or something, but looking out for them to make a run.
Uh toward the end of the year to get in the postseason I mean they got deandre eight and two obviously ad staying healthy is always questionable but man they're deep with a lot of young guard talent wing talents as well so I'm excited to see what this team can do DFS wise though you mentioned keyshawn george other than that though trey young ad that's about it um we did have a question from afc if trey young and ad CorrelationCorrelation describes how two players' fantasy scores move together. Positively correlated players tend to have big games at the same time, usually because one player's success directly adds points for the other. When you build a tournament lineup, ask which of your players need the same thing to happen. The more of them that do, the higher your lineup's ceiling.Read the full definition of Correlation
Uh for SaberSim if you click anthony davis or any name you can see the correlation positive or negative trey young does positively positively correlate a little bit which should make sense obviously with pick and roll lob stuff could see plenty of assists trey young right to anthony davis buck side yeah definitely A little tougher for me, though. The two that I probably would have some interest in is just Hero and Ryan Rollins. More likely a max one.
Hero is very efficient, and I think it was his last preseason game, like, twenty-four minutes, like, twenty-five points. He's going to get his, and he can always get hot. So don't mind these two, but hard to get to any of the secondary pieces for me. Let's move on to the next game on the slate.
Another solid one in terms of solid total, two thirty three and a half, only two and a half point favorites are the magic looking at OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. Only Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner are looking to get some sixty six $6,900 for Franz is just way too cheap, in my opinion. That's why you're going to get you're almost forced to get to middling builds, really, since there's only two players, $10,000 and above.
But even if there were more middling that were above on the SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. And then I can argue Jalen Johnson, I thought he was going to come in a little lower than that. I think people will rather go AD, will rather go Giannis. Maybe it does get there, though.
But, I mean, yeah, anytime Jalen Johnson's somewhat LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Read the full definition of Leverage, I think him and Franz, or if you want to go Suggs or whatever, is a very solid skinny stack in the NBA terms. And then if you get to the OT or something, you only get boosted. Again, it's hard for me to go into too many of these secondary plays, though. I am Franz over Paulo today. What do you see in this game? Yeah, I agree with you on that, Franz over Paulo for sure. I think just kind of season-long, he's going to probably outperform Paulo. But because Orlando made a lot of changes.
They have a new coach now, Sean Sweeney, and they really made it a point of emphasis to get Franz the ball as their lead handler and their lead playmaker in the preseason. Obviously, the sample size is kind of small, but you can still expect something similar. But he had a assist percentage in the preseason. Paulo was first in usage, but they're looking to get him more just going as like an offensive weapon, whereas he was more asked to be like the point forward at times.
And I think it's going to be a lot of fronds now. And you saw Jalen Suggs kind of just standing in the corner at times. Really saw a decrease in his role. So I'm really high on Franz here at six point $9,000. I think there are some really good small forward options in that same range that we'll talk about. But I think that he's the clearly best option in this game.
I just don't know if Hawks games are going to provide the same types of fireworks that we saw from them in the past because they were a very fast team that wasn't great on defense. But you saw them really turn it around in the second half last year. And they were one of the best. They might have been first in defensive rating in the second half last year. I'm not really sure what changed because they got... Worse, I would say, in the starting unit.
CJ McCollum's not really known to be a defensive stopper, but you still have guys like Dyson Daniels, Nikhil Alexander-Walker, Jalen Johnson, Okongwu, all pretty solid defensive players. I think they just played really good team defense. And they kind of were middling of the pack in preseason pace. So I don't know. I'm not going to argue that Vegas, you know, they think this game is going to be a little bit higher scoring, but I could see it playing to the under.
How that translates for fantasy options on the hog side. I'm not super high on anybody here in particular. I think that the price is right on this team. This is about where we saw them all last year. Maybe CJ was a little bit higher, but Dyson and Alexander Walker were steadily in that $6,000 range. Jalen Johnson in that $9,000 range most of last year. I just think that there's better options below him and above him at power forward.
Obviously, Giannis is the only guy that's above him at power forward. And then I think there's some really good power forward options below him, like AD from the game before. So I'll be a little bit under on the Hawks side tonight. You think that could just like I don't that's why I don't believe that. Fifteen percent. What if I tell you it's eight percent or seven, especially with it being the first game on the slate with only two locking at seven?
Like, I think I think we're pretty hot in terms of ownership. If I told you eight percent when the cards were turned over, would that change anything or still not? Not really. Probably still end up like around the field then if it's at eight percent. But yeah, I still just think that those guys in a vacuum are much better plays. And NBA is a very projectable sport. Those guys are going to project a lot better from a point for dollar basis.
Yeah, like I said, though, on the Orlando side, love Franz here. Don't really like Paulo as much, just with the decreased ball handling and playmaking role. With all that going to Franz, I think Franz is just a much better option here.
Suggs is appealing because he's so cheap and he doesn't necessarily need the ball in his hands to score fantasy points because he can do so much with steals and blocks and then any scoring and assist and rebounding that he has on top of that is just extra. But that's probably it for me. Bane, I don't know, not the most appealing option.
I honestly like the guards in Portland that are priced right there over him because they're just going to have – a much better role than like bane's probably the third option and in Portland we'll we'll get to them when we get to them but they just have better roles so I'm not really that high on bane here it's mainly just franz yeah this is a slate today where used like back in the day we I saw it there's a five x threshold can your guys get five extra salary and you're happy to win GPP (Guaranteed Prize Pool)A GPP is a tournament whose prize pool is guaranteed to pay out in full even if the contest does not fill. Payouts are steep: a small group at the top wins most of the money. Before you enter a tournament lineup, ask how it finishes first, not just how it cashes. If you cannot name that scenario, rebuild it.Read the full definition of GPP
Today I think you you should be shooting for at least six x um and even six point five seven x that you could see obviously the studs you don't need yannis to get seven x and get seventy but And you're talking some of these mid-tier, even Desmond Bain at six, four and that five, $6,000 range. It's so loaded today.
And in my opinion, so many underpriced players where I'd be shooting for at least six X, seven X that you can visualize your guys getting there. So that does limit my interest a little bit in Suggs, especially if he comes in at this ownership. First thing you said was he was standing in the corner more. I don't need that. Franz looks like an elite play for me. I have a little more interest in Jalen Johnson to you, but not my favorite game.
Also so one one thing just for like uh for pivots uh below $5,000 Tristan da Silva was getting talked up a ton in the preseason and their head coach basically said that they are fine with him taking ten like minimum ten threes a game uh he was just taking it like firing away from three in the preseason high Usage RateUsage rate estimates the percentage of a team's offensive plays a player uses while on the court, based on shot attempts, free throw attempts and turnovers. It does not measure assists or time spent holding the ball.Check who shared the floor in any usage sample. Numbers collected against reserves or with several starters missing may not describe the role you are projecting tonight.Read the full definition of Usage Rate and was making a ton so If that actually holds true and he's going to be coming off the bench, but if he's playing like twenty five minutes and just launching every time he gets the ball, like it's hard to not have interest in the guy at four point $3,000 that does that.
You think he gets the twenty five minutes? Not to see where we have in that, but I think that's. Faber's got him at twenty three. He topped out at twenty five in the preseason. Twenty five. Twenty three. Twenty one. Mid to low twenties. Yeah. Twenty three probably feels feels good here. Twenty five would be the highest end. A Grayson Allen pivot when we get to some of these – there's a lot of the value Charlotte. So don't, don't mind that one bit.
All right, let's get to, in my opinion, not too much or not a game. I have much interest for DFS, the Raptors and the Bulls big favorites of the Raptors, ten and a half to thirty seven and a half total in this one. I think the bull side is an easy X outs. I don't know who I'd click. Jill and Smith, maybe I guess at $5,000 he's projecting the best good point per minute guy. But yeah, he's just center eligible.
It's all I got there.
Toronto, my sneak, they're not sneaky, but, that's who I picked yesterday you picked the Timberwolves I picked the Raptors the problem with these guys for DFS when they're fully healthy like they all are going to have a role scotty barrett now you got kawaii in the mix it's a team that I think is very solid but when it comes to DFS I'll be more interested when uh someone gets injured or sitting out versus when they're fully healthy so I'll let you talk about this one tougher for me to get to this game Yeah, I'd agree with you there.
I think the Bulls are a fairly easy max one situation like there. There's an outside shot that somebody on this team does enough. It probably be Norm Powell or Jalen Smith. If I had to guess, I mean, SaberSim is really high on Jalen Smith here and I kind of disagree there.
This Leonard Miller guy that was, you know, at times pretty like a guy that was that had a role last year and the guy that we were playing in DFS at times. He had a really good preseason. They might want to get a longer look at him. This game does have a chance to go smaller as well, because behind Yaka Pirtle is Colin Murray Boyles, who's only six, seven.
So they don't necessarily need to go big with Jan Smith out there if they don't want to. So I would probably end up under on on Smith at $5,000. I think there's a couple. I know for sure there's one better option that's cheaper than him at center that I'm going to be going to in the later game. So I don't I'll be underweight to him for sure. But Norm is kind of interesting because he got that dual positional eligibility.
He's probably going to be the number one scoring option on offense most nights for this Bulls team. Cheap enough where. Like a twenty five to twenty eight point game from him could pay off his tag because he's not really going to add much peripheral stats, if any at all, because you got guys like Giddy, they're going to handle it. Caleb Wilson's going to be a guy that they run the offense through at times. $7,000. They already got him above Franz.
Like, what are we doing? Super aggressive on these rookies. Basically, everybody's in that $7,000 range minus Darren Peterson. They can't boozers seven point $1,000. People are asking about it. At these prices, I couldn't imagine playing these guys over guys like Franz, who we just talked about. You know what you're getting from there. That's all I got. It's a no for me, but if you play a bunch of teams...
He's going to be really low on people love it, but you got to do something at $7,000 give me two plus. I think you probably wait for a better, an easier opponent than the Raptors because they are going to have a really good defense this year. And $7,000, like you said, that's a real price tag. There's also some talk about potentially easing him in early on the season.
I mean, they don't want to put too much on his plate early and like match up against Kawhi and Scotty Barnes. I think that's a kind of a clear stay away spot for me. Um, But yeah, on the Raptors side, Kawhi does look way too cheap at seven point $4,000. But same thing for him. Like they're not going to push his minutes up in a game against the Bulls where they're probably going to win pretty easily.
And like what is a thirty to thirty two minute game for him look like if he goes for like forty five, forty eight? I would not be surprised, but I don't know if that's necessarily going to be enough on the SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. I do think that.
Like Franz and Brandon Miller in games that are going to be way closer and they're going to have the ball in their hands a lot more than Kawhi will, are kind of interesting to pivot away from him. They are going to be highly owned, but I just kind of think that their high-end outcomes are a little bit more appealing for me than Kawhi's is, but could definitely be wrong. I was wrong a lot yesterday, so I am not too sure there.
But it does sound like they're going to be running the offense through Scottie Barnes a little bit more this season. He was kind of all over the place in the preseason, twenty seven percent Usage RateUsage rate estimates the percentage of a team's offensive plays a player uses while on the court, based on shot attempts, free throw attempts and turnovers. So, yeah, that looks like a pretty good role for a guy at eight point three. I think I want to get into some of Scottie Barnes over Kawhi here.
Then everybody else is kind of just a fringe option like you could make the case for manuel quickly I think he's going to get a ton of open looks just with the gravity that kawaii and scotty barnes create for him uh same could be said for rj baird but I really think that he's going to be like the fourth option at times and then don't think I'll go to cmb or yaka fertile just yet Agree. Not much more to add in this one.
I have the same take on Kawhi. He looks too cheap, but again, so many do, and I'm worried at ten and a half point favorites. Kawhi, you never know with him. He can always defer, and there's plenty of options for him to defer on this team, especially game one.
I do just worry a little more about his true ceiling I think he has to be very efficient and the game environment be close enough and stay close enough for most of the games so I just prefer others but yeah by no means to see a bad play as you can see coming with OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Interested to see if you're going to make a case against some of this chalk in this next game. Hornets one at point favorites over the Nets. Very low total, though, I believe the lowest on the SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. But as you guys know or many know, if you're new to NBA DFS, I mentioned spreads and totals spreads closer the better because your studs are probably going to play total the faster pace, more possessions on average.
You like that. But it all comes down to salary point per dollar. These guys are just mispriced. No LaMelo. They're priced like LaMelo's still there. DraftKings asleep at the wheel with these guys, but not the rookies. But, yeah, Brooklyn side looks really difficult to play, and OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Read the full definition of Ownership will also show that. You can always play MPJ. I mean, at three percent, the dude always chucks, so I'm fine with him. But on the Charlotte side, this is the MAIN stuff.
Dennis Schroeder going to start at point guard, $3,700. You can see he'll be one of the chalkiest, if not the chalkiest on the slate.
Yeah I think he actually will be the ChalkChalk is the most popular, highly owned play on a slate. The term comes from sports betting, where the favorite is called the chalk.Don't label chalk good or bad. Ask whether each popular play deserves its ownership, then decide which chalk you'll eat and which you'll fade.Read the full definition of Chalk song let's let you agree real yeah it seems that way and then grayson allen looks good royce o'neill brandon miller you're gonna get some Charlotte ownership for sure they all seemed underpriced yeah take it away I guess any rules you would make any that you don't like as much as the field and then yeah Brooklyn side's pretty easy I think No, I don't think I would get too strict with the rules here on the Charlotte side, but probably just limiting how much exposure I have to this team as a whole.
Because like you said, this game does have the lowest over-under on the slate. So there's going to be less scoring opportunities. Guys can get there with rebounds and steals and things like that. But you mainly want your guy to be scoring the ball. And there's just not going to be a ton of scoring in this game. But I do agree with the ownership on Schroeder and Grayson Allen. Just way too cheap, like you said, at three point seven, four point $3,000.
I guess if there was holes to poke in their matchup, which there definitely is, like the Nets are going to do a lot what they did last year, which was run guys off the three-point line and take away pick and roll scoring, which they were, I believe, best in the league last year in pick and roll. So you're going to want guys that mainly score around the basket, but that's not really what Charlotte does.
I think they took the most jump shots in the preseason, and they took a ton of threes last year. So they're going to play their game of offense. So there is a little bit of fragility on these guys from a scoring perspective, but it's going to be really tough for Schroeder to not pay off a three point $7,000 price. Fairly big handling role. I think we know that Brandon Miller, they just signed a huge contract. He'll be the guy on offense.
And then the addition of Nas Reed, like those would be the two MAIN scoring threats for Charlotte. But Dennis Schroeder is going to be running the show on offense. So I don't really see a reason to get away from that in like Single-EntryA single-entry contest allows each user exactly one lineup. It can be a cash game or a tournament. In single-entry, one or two contrarian decisions are usually enough. Pair a strong, popular core with a lower-owned piece instead of fading everything the field likes.Read the full definition of Single-Entry stuff. If you want to get a little bit crazy, I guess in MME, this Christian Anderson guy, they're pretty high on it. He had a good preseason. He doesn't project terribly.
So I don't think I would go there because you still need a lot to go right. Maybe it's just flipping the build around and getting value elsewhere and Spending UpSpending up means choosing a higher-priced player over a cheaper alternative, using more of your lineup's salary budget at that spot. You may also hear it called paying up.Build a version with your preferred expensive player and another without. Before choosing, check whether either version relies on a cheap player whose expected role still depends on unresolved injury news.Read the full definition of Spending Up at point guard, which is definitely easy to do tonight. But, yeah, I'll be starting with Dennis Schroeder, probably a core play tonight. I do like Grayson Allen. He shot it really well in the preseason.
But like I said, they're going to be running him off the three-point line, so he's going to have to mix it up a little bit. And then Royce O'Neal, another top value at a slay.
I mean, three-point $5,000 is just way too cheap for a guy that can kind of do a little bit of everything mainly a three d guy and you know add some rebounding in as well um but then yeah you guys definitely have to consider brandon miller and nazca I do think that they have a ton of upside relative to their price tag they're going to have really big roles we know that brandon miller is going to have a massive role but naz was a guy that performed his like a seven point $5,000 to eight $8,000 player at times when he was given the keys to start a power forward with the Minnesota Timberwolves last year.
Now he's going to be the starting power forward in Charlotte. So I definitely want to be ahead, especially if the ownership. I mean, I can't imagine it's going to be less than one percent. I think people are always. I mean, I think he's minutes. Twenty seven minutes. That feels like. Yeah, I would. I would agree with that. Don't double check. Yeah, I mean, he's going to play thirty minutes, for sure. I don't see why he wouldn't.
Yeah, I don't know how they could spread those minutes out. I mean, it's going to be a close game. So, yeah, I would imagine he's above thirty minutes. I mean, all these guys in the starting lineup, maybe minus Diabate, should be above thirty minutes. I think that they're all...
Consideration here tonight but like I said I don't want to get too overboard with the team with a hundred ten Team TotalIn NBA DFS, a team total estimates how many real basketball points a team will score, usually from the game total and point spread. It does not include fantasy production from rebounds, assists or defensive statistics.Recheck team totals after major news, then ask which players actually benefit. If your projections already reflect the change, avoid adding another automatic boost.Read the full definition of Team Total uh but maybe I could talk you on to the Brooklyn side a little bit more the role for julius randall in the preseason was really good and uh jordan fernandez said it's going to carry over in the into the regular season they're going to use him a lot more as a point forward he has he's a black hole that's all you got to say I mean he always chalks he's mpj mpj light so yeah you can talk me into him for fantasy not to win games Yeah, exactly.
I mean, all that matters. Obviously, I've talked down on him as a player, like a winning player. A lot of times, I'm really happy Minnesota got rid of him finally. But fantasy is all about opportunity and minutes, and he's definitely going to have that here. But his preseason per-thirty-six stats were pretty solid, twenty-two, seven and seven, give or take a few points, just kind of rounding up or down. But yeah, the role is going to continue in the regular season.
So he's definitely a guy that I think could outperform his price tag he's never really like if things don't go right for him you're like if he lands at like twenty points eight rebounds and five assists something like that it's probably not great but a good night for him where he could be floored with a Triple-Double BonusThe triple-double bonus is extra fantasy scoring for recording at least 10 in three categories: points, rebounds, assists, steals or blocks. In DraftKings NBA Classic, it adds 3 points on top of the player's statistical scoring and double-double bonus.Check how often a player reaches all three thresholds in the same game under a similar role. Separate averages for points, rebounds and assists can overstate the likelihood.Read the full definition of Triple-Double Bonus is something I'd be interested in so I definitely want to get to some of julius randall I think I'm out on mpj right now just didn't have a good role didn't like what I saw a lot of his field goals in the preseason were assisted on so just basically kind of relegated to a catch and shoot guy or like uh getting passes off
Or scoring off of a pass which is not not great for his value the value last year came from because he just had such a massive Usage RateUsage rate estimates the percentage of a team's offensive plays a player uses while on the court, based on shot attempts, free throw attempts and turnovers. It does not measure assists or time spent holding the ball.Check who shared the floor in any usage sample. Numbers collected against reserves or with several starters missing may not describe the role you are projecting tonight.Read the full definition of Usage Rate and then daron sharp finally gets the runway to be the starter in Brooklyn. And he was good as a starter last year. He averaged twenty-nine DK points in twenty-four point six minutes per game. I think he's probably closer to thirty minutes a night. Tough matchup. Diabate and Cochran are two really respectable big men on the shot side.
They might have been the best rebounding team in the league last year. I have to double check that. But yeah, I just think that he's a good enough point-per-minute guy, and he was getting involved as a passer as well. So I think that five point $7,000 is a reasonable tag for him. I'd much rather play him over a guy like Jalen Smith. And then that's probably it.
I think Damon is a little bit too pricey right now and with just like an unknown role. And then Michael Brown, too expensive as well. I'm going to have to wait and see what happens with him. All right. Yeah. You talked me into Randall a little bit. I. Like I said, just like on PJ, the dude absolutely, when he gets the ball, his head's down, he gets the rim, he plays bully ball. It'll be fun to watch Nas against Julius Randle in this one as well.
All right, let's keep it rolling. Again, appreciate it. Everyone hanging out, all we ask is the like button and subscribe button. Helps us out a ton. No time to waste with the Levin games on the slate. Next game, definitely a great one, real life and DFS. Miami Heat, one and a half point favorites over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Two forty and a half, which I believe is the biggest on the slate. Yes, it is. Or no, it's not.
The Memphis and the Grizzlies, two forty one and a half. But it is definitely up there. You can see this game is getting some OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Read the full definition of Ownership. LaMelo and Giannis, the two. Yeah, Giannis will be the most popular spend. There's enough value. There's enough good tier or good mid tier options. The $1,000 off of Luca goes a long way. So a lot of teams will come in with Giannis. I do not believe twenty percent. I could see mid thirties.
Curious here if you have the same thoughts on that in terms of ownership and then thoughts on this game.
Yeah I mean definitely in singletary stuff you're probably starting with schroeder and yannis and then building around those two guys uh just both of them are way too cheap and I mean I agree with it I think yannis a $10,000 even in a tougher matchup is a really really solid option you said this game had the second highest over under now uh two forty and a half on DraftKings I'm seeing the only other bigger one two forty one and a half for Utah and Memphis Okay.
That's interesting. Last time I checked, which was earlier this morning, it was this game as the highest. But either way, I mean, there's immense upside on both sides of this game. The total supply represents that as well. I don't know about the Minnesota side, though. These guys are going to be LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Read the full definition of Leverage outside of LaMelo, but probably for a good reason. There's a lot of holes to poke in all these guys. I mean, A.K. For Ant normally would be fine, but...
Adding a guy like LaMelo, like LaMelo will probably take a backseat more as a scorer at times this year. And the usage held up fine for Ant, thirty three and a half percent of the preseason.
But LaMelo does take away so many of the assist opportunities that kind of made Ant a good fantasy option last year so now we're going to need thirty five to forty point games out of hand for him to be viable which he definitely could do like I'm not gonna I wouldn't be surprised if and is the leading scorer in the NBA this year um and a guy that I've kind of picked over the last couple years to be a potential mvp candidate but yeah you're just really going to need a lot of points out of him on a regular basis for him to be fantasy viable when lamello is taking away the assist and gobert is taking away the rebounding With that being said, though, this is a pretty good matchup for him.
We know that Miami is a team that's going to take away the rim scoring. They've been playing at a really fast pace. There's chances for transition scoring for Ant. But the area that I'm looking to is a three-point defense, which has always been a kind of a hole in the air exposure defense. And Ant is going to be taking a ton of threes. So I do like his scoring upside here, but not sure I get there in fantasy.
I think LaMelo is a much more palatable price tag at seven point $9,000 with the assist upside. So I'll definitely go there. And he's done really well against Miami over the past couple of seasons. Average forty seven DK points per game, obviously.
A different role from Charlotte to Minnesota but still a guy that should be able to outscore his seven point $9,000 price tag I think it's a little bit too big of a SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Read the full definition of Slate to get to anybody else on Minnesota but I am curious about jd mcdaniels he's going to be guarding yannis which brings foul risk but it seems like every year going into the season for Minnesota they just always talk about jada mcdaniels and even lamella he is a stud he just got rewarded shout out to him one year forty million absolutely deserved yeah for sure definitely one of the more important players in the NBA for their team success just with what he does on both ends of the court but as for fantasy purposes Not sure.
We really need to go there. Lomelo did say he thinks he could average like twenty to twenty five this year. And Jenny McDaniel said he wants to be an all star. Probably going to wait for a better matchup where he doesn't have to guard Giannis on the other side of the court and doesn't have Bam protecting the rim down low. So just Lomelo and Ant for me on the Minnesota side on Miami. It's pretty much just Giannis, I think.
Wiggins and Davion Mitchell probably okay at their price tags. But, yeah, I mean, Giannis' role in the preseason was massive. He averaged a Triple-Double BonusThe triple-double bonus is extra fantasy scoring for recording at least 10 in three categories: points, rebounds, assists, steals or blocks. In DraftKings NBA Classic, it adds 3 points on top of the player's statistical scoring and double-double bonus.Check how often a player reaches all three thresholds in the same game under a similar role. So definitely going to be finding ways to get over with Giannis. But I do agree with you. He's going to come in a way higher-owned.
And then I'll keep an eye on Pele Larson because he had a crazy Usage RateUsage rate estimates the percentage of a team's offensive plays a player uses while on the court, based on shot attempts, free throw attempts and turnovers. It does not measure assists or time spent holding the ball.Check who shared the floor in any usage sample. Numbers collected against reserves or with several starters missing may not describe the role you are projecting tonight.Read the full definition of Usage Rate in the preseason, averaged just under twenty nine points for thirty six and was really making a point of emphasis to get to the rim and draw fouls. He was averaging $15,300 free throw attempts for thirty six minutes in the preseason. A lot of positive commentary around him leading into the season as well. And the Spolstra, like you said, been a three-point funnel for years.
It's only going to get bigger when you add Giannis in the paint next to Bam as well. So, yeah, be prepared for teams to absolutely be chucking it against the Heat. All right, next game on the slate, Indiana Pacers and the New Orleans Pelicans. Three and a half point favorites are the Pels, two thirty eight and a half total. Again, one of the biggest on the slate.
Looking at OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Read the full definition of Ownership, this game is not getting much, but I mean, I see Zion at six point $7,000 and fifteen percent. I mean, that's all I need to see. Curious here, your take, though, on Zion this year. You never know with him. What I did like to see, Tyrese obviously came back after injury. He's up there at $8,400. So I'm not sure if today's the day, but his usage was great in the preseason as well as the primary ball handler.
The more appealing ones, I think, is the pivots down low. Kelly Oubre at $4,700 is something if he's placed thirty minutes, which he's projected at, according to SaberSim, he can always snatch that price tag due to his ability to fill it up. So, yeah, it's games.
Pretty tough for me for DFS but I think uber is elite on the pacer side and I mean yeah zion at at the at $6,000 seven hundred just screams miss uh miss price but what are the minutes looking like this year how do you think his role in the offense is with dejante healthy trey murphy and these guys
Did uh first off did you say that the Pelicans were favored in this game three and a half no I'm sorry I misspoke so I did I did say that but I missed I said it wrong three and a half point favorites are the Pacers I was looking at SaberSim so they have one like that and then it I just like yeah I have the sports book up and I just I guess associated so no scratch that uh
Pacers are favored by three and I was about to say you got to run in and jam in the Pacers if that's the case because I I think that they are just leaps and bounds better than this Pelicans team hated the pels uh feels like for like two years now so that makes sense well they have a lot of guys that I like like I've always been a big dejonte murray guy trey murphy as well I mean even zion I I think is a solid player but um For your question that you're asking about Zion, I mean, I agree that he looks like he's underpriced, but did not like what I saw from him from a role standpoint in the preseason.
Really low Usage RateUsage rate estimates the percentage of a team's offensive plays a player uses while on the court, based on shot attempts, free throw attempts and turnovers. Numbers collected against reserves or with several starters missing may not describe the role you are projecting tonight.Read the full definition of Usage Rate, and they're trying to make it, like, try and get his jump shot to work. It's just never been a part of his game. Adding the fact that you got a healthy DeJounte Murray, you got Trey Murphy still out there, you got rookies in Derrick Queen and Fuse who they're trying to develop.
If he's going to be like a twenty four percent usage guy or whatever it was in the preseason I'll double check but I I think that the price is probably appropriate there and a lot of the upside came from when he could just dominate basically every stat category. Like, now you're going to need to just be a score-first guy because you have Missy out there to take the rebounds away. You still got to get Trey Murphy the ball to score.
DeJounte is going to be the guy that's running the show, running the point guard role. So I'm not super high on Zion here. Maybe I end up with more, but he does seem like a pretty positive value right now. I'm not going to say that I'm smarter than SaberSim or any of these other ProjectionsDFS projections estimate a player's fantasy points for an upcoming slate using expected opportunities, performance and the contest's scoring rules. I don't think I need to go to any of these Pelicans, really.
You can make the case that Murray and Trey Murphy are in good spots here. But I don't know. There's guys in their positions that just project as much better values. I do think that the Indy side is a little bit better, mainly those ValueValue is the fantasy production you expect from a player relative to his salary. Then check whether that reason still holds when you submit your lineup.Read the full definition of Value plays that you mentioned. But I think that, I don't know, Halliburton, worth a sprinkle in case he's back to full. I don't think they're going to run him thirty-six minutes right off the bat, but thirty-two, probably. That seems reasonable.
A couple of eight-minute stints in every quarter seems reasonable. But like you said, the usage was great in the preseason. He looked like he's all the way back. It was great that he took the year off because he knew that Pacers were going to be terrible last year. And then you add a guy like Zubac, who is... I think one of the better pick-and-roll rollmans that you can have because he's just such a big body.
Like Miles Turner, that pick-and-pop guy, it just didn't really help Halliburton as much. Didn't have the same level of gravity that Zubac has. You can't really throw two at Halliburton because he's just such a good passer, and Zubac will be wide open. He's even a fine passer as the rollman as well. I think that the pick-and-roll offense for Indy is going to be very, very dangerous this year, so I'm high on that.
But like you said, it might be a little bit too expensive for Hallie. Maybe wait a week or two when either the price comes down or the minutes go up. But Zubac is a guy I do want to get overweight on because I think that he could really dominate this matchup. The Pelicans were a team over the past couple of years that we've just been jamming in centers against.
And he has not had a guy as good as Halliburton in the pick and roll game. So I'm expecting a big game out of Zubac here. Like all those values, I think Kelly Oubre, one of the better ones at four point $7,000. No knee Smith. You'll be in the starting lineup. And Obi Toppin, it seems like he's got the backup center role locked down for now. They don't really have anybody behind Zuock. Like, it's Jay Huff and basically Obi. Or they have Larry Nance Jr.
As well, but I don't think they're going to be playing those guys much, if at all, tonight. So pace of the game against a Pelican team that was really bad in transition last year I think sets up pretty well for Obi Toppin. I like it. Yeah, him as the center is really, it creates a lot of mismatches on the other side.
The Pelicans are going to have to decide what they want to do in terms of a matchup because they'll just outrun those centers in transition and get free buckets. So I do like Obi at $3,600 as well. Next game on the SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Read the full definition of Slate, Rio's Utah Jazz taking on the Memphis Grizzlies. One at-point favorites are the Grizz. Two-forty-one and a half, which is the biggest on the slate. One ownership that is definitely wrong is Ty Jerome.
Let me just bump him up to like thirty-nine percent. Maybe that's a little hot. To be honest, he could even be thirty-nine percent, and I still have a ton of interest. I mean, a fully unleashed Ty Jerome this year. Then you can add in one of the best matchups. In terms of pace and for guards, Ty Jerome is an elite, an elite play today. Again, unfortunately, I don't think it's sneaking past anyone, but I really don't care. I can get different in other spots.
That's all I really got. It'd be a disservice for me to talk about the Jazz over you, but, yeah, I always loved Keontae marking him. They got some bodies, that's for sure. Take it away. Jaren Jackson, revenge game, too. Yeah, because first time, a lot of firsts in this game is the first game Darren Peterson and Cam Boozer will be facing off against each other. The first time Jaron Jackson Jr. Plays against his former team. Yeah, huge over-under. I don't know.
I mean, if you're basing off some of the preseason numbers, there's a little bit cause of concern that Utah games might play a little bit slower. I mean, they're going to be better on defense this year because they're going to actually be trying and adding Jaron. I don't think Hayes is great by any means, but better than what we were trying out last year.
The rebounding is still going to be a really big concern for them because they don't have anybody that can really grab boards until they get Nurkic back. But yeah, last year they were one of the fastest paced teams in the league in a massive three point funnel. I would probably still expect that to continue here. But, yeah, so for the Jazz side of things, obviously they're going to be mainly running their offense through Keontae and Laurie Markkinen and Darren Peterson, I would say.
But Laurie was the guy that did see the most usage in the preseason. This was a Grizzlies team that did give up a decent amount of three-point volume last year. Laurie, one of the best catch-and-shoot guys in the NBA. And he's probably going to be the primary rebounder when he's on the floor as well. So I think we could get a pretty respectable stat line. Another guy with small forward, power forward eligibility to add to the list of very strong options tonight.
Definitely have a lot of interest there. I don't think I want to get to Keontae right now. I think the reason he was so valuable as a DFS option last year was because there were so few guys to take away any sort of handling and usage away from him, especially in games that Laurie didn't play. But now you have Darren Piusen and Jaron Jackson Jr. And a healthy Laurie Markkinen.
I do think they're going to be running the offense through a lot of these guys at times I think I'll if I'm trying to get to a guard on the jazz side I would probably prefer to get to darren peterson uh because he looked as good as advertising me one of the more polished guard players that uh just guard scores that we've had come in probably since like anthony edwards there might be some other guys in between I missed out on but he looks like the real deal and I think that he's definitely worth getting to tonight Because he did a little bit of everything in the preseason.
And a lot better of a defender than I thought he was. A guy that's got really long arms can get some easy steals at times. So he can fill up the stat sheet in a hurry.
Yes I think that the top four guys that are priced up on the jazz are guys I'm all considering but I'd probably say max one or just a max two overall and see what that gets me ace is gonna be coming off the bench to start collier also coming off the bench uh
I don't know what the role is necessarily gonna look like for haze like they they have gone and will go smaller times with ace in the lineup I think that's probably their best lineup but you don't want to start that way um yes I'm I'm excited about this game excited about the jazz side of things and I agree with you on ty jerome I haven't projected uh around like twenty eight minutes because that's basically what their head coach said he's gonna be playing but they're gonna be he's gonna dominate usage it's a little bit of a different situation last year because he was at like a thirty percent Usage RateUsage rate estimates the percentage of a team's offensive plays a player uses while on the court, based on shot attempts, free throw attempts and turnovers. That's another guy they're going to run things through. But I still think that it's the Ty Jerome show. I mean, he's too cheap and a really good matchup. I'll definitely get to a ton of him. I think that's it. I mean, Sabre is really high on Coward, and I don't disagree there. But I don't know. There's some really good shooting guard options in that same range I might prefer over him.
Is a great matchup for him though so maybe it just kind of rolled the ProjectionsDFS projections estimate a player's fantasy points for an upcoming slate using expected opportunities, performance and the contest's scoring rules. I'll probably take more of a wait-and-see approach, and it mainly comes down to just the price tag relative to others on the SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. Next game, Dallas Mavericks and the Houston Rockets. Nine of that point favorites are the Rockets. Two-thirty and a half total.

Kyrie with the ball in his hands is a blessing for basketball fans. But, yeah, DFS-wise, I got nothing. Yeah, take it away. That was nice. I don't know if you meant to rhyme right there, but that was pretty good. I did not mean to rhyme one bit. Yeah, I agree, though. I mean, you got a full strength Houston team.
Looks like they're going to be one of the better defenses in the league this year. You got Fred Van Fleet, Steven Adams. I think Steven Adams is still questionable, but he should be back. And then you added some more depth and guard handling and defense and Marcus Smart. So I like the moves that they made this year. I think that they could be a top team in the West for sure. Dallas getting Kyrie back. But yeah, I kind of. All in all, I agree.
I think this is closer to a cross-off game. The game total is not that appealing. Price tag on Cooper Flagg is way up there. If you want to bet on him taking a big leap, he was already great at times last year and definitely was paying off this price tag, but in a matchup versus Houston, I think I'd want to go away from that. I think Kyrie definitely earns a little bit of exposure, though. It's six point $8,000, just a really cheap price tag.
Looks like he's close to fully healthy I'm not sure if the minutes will be there right off the bat but I mean he's matchup proof when he gets going so I'm not really too afraid of like the almond thompson assignment there I think that's it though not seeing anybody that's projecting close to a positive value on the Dallas side of things that we really need to run and play same thing for Houston I don't I think kevin durant is much worse than all the other small forward options that we mentioned earlier and he's I think he's the most expensive of the ones I mentioned so Pretty easy X out on the Houston side of things.
Yep, agree. What's up, Matt? Or what's up, Matt? Our man Matt over here does content. For NBA, he is on the Slate Station today. Yeah, I think it's either Jerome or Schroeder. Yeah, do you have any take on who's going to be higher? Probably Schroeder. Due to the price, that makes sense. It's going to be one of those two, in my opinion, though. Both will definitely be high-owned. All right, let's keep it rolling. Still a couple games left.
We have an hour and a half window in between that Dallas-Houston game to this Suns and Portland game. Portland, two and a half point favorites. Two thirty and a half total in this one. Game's not looking to get much OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Read the full definition of Ownership. On the Suns side, though, I will say Dylan Brooks at $5,600. I think he's a little interesting. Man, he was so good and important for this team.
Last year they did get in addition to miles bridges but brooks can fill it up in multiple different ways if he is really going to be that low on a little interest there jalen green's usage was also very good in the regular season I mean you need probably thirty real ones anytime you play him at six $6,300 but he is definitely capable of doing that Portland side it's gonna be fun to watch dane back at $6,500 not sure he can fill up the stat sheet enough to uh to score forty five plus.
Maybe I'm curious to hear your MAIN take on that one. Definitely can if Abdi has ruled out. You mentioned that at the top, the biggest Q take on the slate probably won't get the news until this late window. Yeah. Do you have any take on on Abdi and then take this game away? I don't, but the fact that you're questionable leading into opening night, picking up an injury that late in the preseason is probably not good.
But, I mean, he's going to do everything he can to get out there. I'm sure home opener at home, definitely think he's going to try to play.
But, yeah, if he doesn't, like, you got to – find a way to get creative and save a couple spots like say I'm into uh to give yourself some flexibility of a couple of these guys in these last six games uh you could actually just do the last two I think because you'll have the news and if he does play you can open up to the last three games six teams is what real meant by the way yeah um Yeah, I think that with Denny in, it's harder for me to get to any of these Blazers.
I think that Ja is interesting at six point $6,000 and if he's going to be that low on because he he's basically run the point for them.
And he's I know he was dominating the assist numbers kind of had Denny and Dame as the two MAIN scoring options so pretty valuable role for a job he is going to be a guy that's getting points and assists whereas Damon Denny Denny is probably more of like a rebound and points type of guy and Dame probably more like just scoring um but all the I mean, he took a year off as well, similar to Halliburton.
So he's probably close to fully healthy, a little bit older. But everything around the Blazers camp said that he looks as good as he ever has in his career, which I mean, obviously don't believe that. But Dame is not really a guy that is super reliant on athleticism and his explosiveness. So he definitely could.
Get there he did look good in the preseason so I'd probably just be wait and see approach on the blazer side unless we get news early on which we probably won't that danny is out um kind of the same for Phoenix though I don't see anybody that's really projecting as a great value jalen green sounds like he's going to be more of like the point guard for uh Phoenix this year was working with steve nash in the offseason didn't really show up in the preseason numbers but Like, he is cheap compared to what we saw from him last year.
There was some games where he really went off. Not sure how that looks with Miles Bridges in there now, though. I think Gillespie's still going to be a guy that's eating into him. So, I don't know. It's probably just a max one, max two overall in this game. Agree. Definitely do agree. Before we talk about the last two games, let me head on over to our new website at ShippenNation.com. Whereas core hundred, you get one hundred ability to use one hundred lineups. You do not get SaberSim projections or ownership. You just get ours. But I think the starter deal is definitely the best. If you are playing probably even like.
Thirty thirty five dollars a night or more I think starter would definitely be very important NBA is obviously a very big late swap sports uh if you can see down here as well if you're only playing one sport we do have NBA for the month less than a dollar a day uh for NBA content NBA content twenty dollars more you get SaberSim and if you go to annual you can see it definitely gets cheaper too uh as all of our prices do so we'd love to have you also you can take this sixty second quiz um and you also get a discount so uh definitely do join the Discord if you do join any of our packages Let's head on over to SaberSim.
We got two games left. The Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers. Lakers six and a half point favorites. Two thirty four and a half total in this one. Anytime I'm seeing Draymond get over twenty percent ownership, especially on a slate like this with eleven games. I am good. I don't care that he's $4,500. Yeah. If he beats me, he beats me. Do you have any other any other different take in this game?
And then Lakers side seems pretty appropriately priced and OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Uh yeah I mean I tend to agree with you there it's just tougher when his price gets that low because even I don't know like twenty five twenty six I just don't think that wins it today I guess yeah I would agree with that and there's probably gonna be guys that outscore him like we saw it last night there's a lot of guys that were ChalkChalk is the most popular, highly owned play on a slate. Ask whether each popular play deserves its ownership, then decide which chalk you'll eat and which you'll fade.Read the full definition of Chalk that got outscored by people that we weren't really on so it definitely could happen here with there being ten other games to get to um Yeah, for me, I mean, it's Yaxel.
I don't know if I'm saying that incorrectly. I saw there was potentially Jack. Yeah, I think I saw the thing that's saying Yaxel. I'm saying Yaxel until everyone says it the other way, I mean. Yeah. I mean, Sabre's way too low on him. We're going to be – we're going to have to come up a lot there because I do think that he's going to be a really big part of this offense. They have him for . They have him for . Do you think is light too?
Yeah, I do. I would put him probably like . Oh, wow. Okay. Yeah. I mean, they – Steve Kerr came out and said, like, he's going to play a ton. He's going to be starting like they're all in on him. Jamon Green said that he's the future face of their franchise. And this is after they just I think that they just signed pods right to a long term deal.
Pods or Steph Curry light or whatever you want to call whatever he wants to be called. Yeah. Yeah. That's hilarious. But, yeah, I mean, he's going to be the focal point of the team moving forward, the face of the franchise after Steph and Draymond leave. I mean, he looked great in the preseason and in the – what is it called? The summer league season. I think he won Summer League MVP. Yeah, he just does a lot of everything.
Like he's kind of like in that, don't take this too literally, but like the Giannis, like Jalen Johnson type of forward where they can really fill up every single area of the stat sheet. So I'm definitely going to get to a lot of the axle here. I don't think that he's going to be as low as I project him. We're going to get a refresh. I think he'll come up a good bit, but he should definitely be in consideration here.
Having trouble to say that I want to play Steph over some of the other point guards mentioned earlier in that same range, but just because I don't think there's going to be playing four minutes off the bat. I mean, you just saw a couple days ago when they had their open practice, he had a non-contact injury, which apparently was not...
Uh not anything serious but they're not gonna be pushing him to a ton of minutes and I I think it probably capped to like twenty nine to thirty on the high end so you really just need a ton of scoring from him which he obviously can do one of the best to ever do it so if you want to play him go ahead but I think that there's some other options I'm gonna begin to um and then the value on dante mellon I think looks pretty solid here if seth is that all limited or just not playing well I think mountain is a guy they're gonna have to lean on for some offense Anything Lakers side?
Yeah. Luka Reeves and Kessler are pretty much it for me. I think Kessler is a pretty solid option, similar to Zubac in that same range where nobody's going to really be playing him. And we've seen what Luka can do, unlocking a guy like Walker Kessler. You've seen some of the centers in the past that Luka's played with have some really big games. So, yeah, they went out and got him. This is a guy that Luca won.
I think they have a big plan in place for Walker Kessler. Luca is just kind of a Spending UpSpending up means choosing a higher-priced player over a cheaper alternative, using more of your lineup's salary budget at that spot. You may also hear it called paying up.Build a version with your preferred expensive player and another without. Before choosing, check whether either version relies on a cheap player whose expected role still depends on unresolved injury news.Read the full definition of Spending Up to be ContrarianA contrarian play or lineup is one built around choices most of the field will not make, such as low-owned players, unpopular teams or an unusual salary structure.Pick one or two contrarian spots per lineup and ground each in a real reason. The rest of the roster can look like the field.Read the full definition of Contrarian option because we have Giannis for cheaper and better positional eligibility or just had an easier position to spend up for. So you're going to get pretty low ownership on Luca for sure. But I think that. Reeves might be overall a better option at $1,000 with point guard shooting guard eligibility. Very similar role, not as high of a usage.
Luke was at forty one percent lead or sorry. I don't know his number was the preseason, but dominated and led the entire preseason usage. So like him and then just keep an eye on the starting lineups. I think it's going to be Zaire Williams out there. Three point $3,000. You could do worse than a guy starting at a shooting guard small for that sheet.
All right let's get to the last game of the night uh ten thirty eastern Sacramento kings and the Los Angeles Clippers we are looking at five and a half point favorites for the clips two twenty six and a half total in this one getting some OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Read the full definition of Ownership though so you did mention if you wanted to wait for obvia news or make a rule have at least two players in those last three games I think this is a game that you naturally will get a little bit of more interest on the clipper side at least in terms of ownership Then the Kings, but Sabonis is getting some ownership at $7,700.
What's a bonus? Are we going to see the one like three years ago where he was just a double double machine racking it up or the Sabonis as of late? What feels like the past year, year and a half? I don't know. I mean, the preseason looked really bad for Sabonis. He might be dust or just just not motivated to play for this team, which I wouldn't I wouldn't blame him for.
But I mean, this is Darius Acuff is just going to be so ball dominant, just going to have all the usage in the world. Like I struggle to see a scenario where Sabonis can outscore a guy like Zubac or Walker Kessler who are in much better positions. Uh, I guess the matchup is fine because Isaiah Jackson's a kind of like a smaller body center.
So he could get there, um, off of like, just like a double double with a ton of rebounds, but I don't know that this feels really high and kind of, uh, just feels bad paying that much and that big of an ownership for for sabonis I'm out on him pretty much out on the entire kings right now I just think this team is just a train wreck but the clipper side looks a lot better isaiah jackson was one of the guys I was mentioning over jalen smith because at four point $7,000 a guy that's starting and probably playing twenty seven minutes.
I mean, we know he's been a really good permanent guy in the past. I was looking at the game logs last year when he played for the Clippers, only a handful of games. But there was five games where he was above nineteen minutes and he averaged twenty seven point sixty eight points per game or one point two six Fantasy Points Per Minute (FPPM)Fantasy points per minute (FPPM) measures a player's fantasy production per minute played. So plug that in a guy that's playing twenty five plus one of the better values on the slate for me.
Garland going to have a ton of usage and Going to really be leaned on in a really big way. Kings had the second worst defensive rating in the preseason. I expect that to carry over. Should be a really good spot for him. Another guy I'd probably rather play over Steph Curry. Chris Dunn was a guy that's getting a ton of ownership or at least projecting as a strong value early in the day. Probably just because he's starting, but... I don't know.
I'd probably try to find ways to get away from him because he's point guard only. And then I do have interest in Rui at five point $4,000. A lot of positive things around him. Tyloo apparently wants him to average over eight rebounds per game. His usage was the highest on the Clippers in the preseason and he led them in scoring.
So I really like what I'm seeing from Rui, the numbers leading into the season and probably one of the best spots that he'll face all season. You don't got to talk me into Rui. Rui's an absolute monster, looking to be pretty low. If they want to run offense through Rui or have a usage like that, five point $4,000 will not last long. He'll be six point $4,000 pretty soon. So I think that's actually my favorite play after everything we've talked about.
