Shows / NBA/ Tuesday, October 27, 2026
From the archive. This breakdown is for the Tuesday, October 27 NBA slate. Salaries, weather and picks were for that day.
Latest NBA show →Rio Turner and Zach Trivett break down Tuesday's four-game slate, with Boston and San Antonio in strong matchups but carrying significant blowout risk. Victor Wembanyama is an overweight target against Sacramento because cheaper centers could suppress his ownership. Paul Reed ($5,200) remains underpriced in Detroit's shortened frontcourt rotation, with exposure above the field supported. Ausar Thompson was trending toward playing, reducing the appeal of Detroit's secondary handlers and complicating Jalen Brunson's matchup.
Matisse Thybulle ($3,800) stands out for forward value, starting minutes and lower ownership than Ziaire Williams. Lakers-Portland offers the highest total, with Luka Doncic's usage supporting his salary and Portland's guards benefiting if Scoot Henderson sits. Duncan Robinson supplies contrarian shooting upside alongside popular stars. Game stacks are more viable on four games, but avoid competing rotation pieces and do not sacrifice preferred early plays merely to preserve late-swap flexibility.
| Play | Call | The Take | At |
|---|---|---|---|
| Could reach 30 to 32 minutes in a close game with less foul pressure, but competing center values limit enthusiasm. | 9:30 | ||
| Has the stronger peripheral role among Brooklyn's expensive options; pairing him with Michael Porter Jr. would call for a Boston bring-back. | 9:48 | ||
| Boston's three-point vulnerability gives him the better scoring matchup among Brooklyn's expensive options, while overall Nets exposure should stay limited. | 10:10 | ||
| Career-high usage and strong assist involvement create a favorable ceiling against Brooklyn, with blowout risk after losing minutes the previous night. | 10:56 | ||
| ONE-OFF | Preferred to Derrick White because Brooklyn's traps should create open shots for secondary scorers. | 11:23 | |
| Remains in consideration after scoring 28 points in only 22 minutes the previous night. | 11:23 | ||
| Mitchell Robinson's return creates a crowded center rotation that makes a ceiling performance harder to reach. | 11:50 | ||
| VALUE | More appealing on FanDuel at $4,000 because of steals and blocks upside, despite Boston's shared center rotation. | 12:11 | |
| Split assessment: limited shot volume discourages exposure, but efficient shooting could make him a contrarian alternative if Tatum and George fail. | 12:34 | ||
| Greater offensive involvement offers upside if Sacramento keeps it close, but the projection of less than 1% ownership was considered unrealistic. | 18:31 |
All systems go. Clear for liftoff. What's going on, everybody? Welcome to the, I was going to say, some week seven Cash GameA cash game is a contest that pays a large share of the field, usually close to half, the same flat prize. Fifty-fifties, double-ups and head-to-heads are the common cash games.Treat cash games as the steady base of your bankroll. Use one safe core across your cash entries on a slate, and save riskier ideas for tournaments.Read the full definition of Cash Game countdown or something. Now, this is basketball. This is Tuesday. Four games on tap. DraftKings and FanDuel. You can see three games locked within the thirty minute window. And then you have a three hour break until the last game of the night. Yeah, prizes are good. Non-football days. So non-Mondays and Thursdays, I guess, regardless of how many games there are.
Prizes will be good on both sites. So even though it's only four games, I prefer a little more. Pretty easy in terms of if you want to have some fun in real life or not be glued to your computer like last night. And you get a lot better prizes. So I'm excited for this one. As always, joined by my man Rio. How we doing, Hebrew Cheetah? Doing good.
Last night was some pretty good games, some really big fantasy scores out of a lot of different players. I think we saw like four or five guys top sixty DK points last night, so that was pretty good to see. But yeah, like you said, four games late. Don't love the eight p.m. Start time. Not going to complain too much about it because I'll definitely be sitting up and watching it. But yeah, good prize pools.
I believe this is the first Fantasy Basketball World Championship ticket tonight or seat tonight. So I'll be in there hopefully looking to get one of those or take down the MAIN tournament. Yeah, I love to hear that. Yeah, I mean, I don't love the start time either, but you can't complain. I'm in Wisconsin right now, and it's ten Eastern over here. So, eight p.m., you have it better than I do, and then other people have it worse than us at eleven on the East Coast.
I'll be up watching the Brew crew sweep and become World Series champs tonight, though. I know as a former baseball player yourself, Rio, anything you want to say about, I got to say, one of the better teams we've seen in a long time. Anything to say about that?
It's great to see uh definitely was rooting for them mainly because of you know you and nades are big uh brewers fans but yeah like I said last week when I believe it was before game one just cool that you have two of these uh smaller market teams and then I think the brewers were kind of hands down the best team in the MLB start to finish so pretty cool to see them close it out with two pretty emphatic uh sweeps potentially sweeps over dodgers and the and the uh the rays Yeah, it's been really fun to watch over here for sure.
I mean, just that fifth inning alone, it was, I don't know, six runs or whatever with two outs. They just play the right way. Steal, small ball, bunt them over, get good leads. It's really cool to watch. I got to say hi to our man Sean Sullivan, First King, Philly Phantom, Parabai, Go Collect, Gang Green, I Am Rice, Avery, Flip Flop, Marquis, Alex Hahn. Great to see everybody. All we ask is a like button and a subscribe button. It helps us out a ton.

The only Q tags, Azure Thompson, Scoot Henderson, Isaiah Joe are the MAIN ones. I see Brendan Carlson, too. That doesn't really mean too much. But, yeah, like I mentioned earlier, that three of the games are within a thirty minute window. And looking at the injury reports, it's Scoot Henderson is really the only one in this later game that we'll be waiting on.
And I don't think you should be changing any of your lineups or doing anything crazy to back load just because of Scoot Henderson. So. Any broad slate for you injury-wise or Roster ConstructionRoster construction is how you organize a DFS lineup within its salary cap and roster rules. No, I mean, I think this one is interesting because we have a couple teams in really good spots, but two games that are projected to blow out, the Boston game, I like that spot for Boston.
The Spurs are obviously in a really good spot against a terrible Kings defense.
Yeah, we don't want to go too overboard on the Boston and Nets game in particular just because if there is a chance that a start sits, that really does open up a ton of ValueValue is the fantasy production you expect from a player relative to his salary. A value play offers more production or upside than his price suggests, whether he is cheap or expensive.Identify why the salary looks wrong: workload, matchup, scoring ability or a pricing error. Then check whether that reason still holds when you submit your lineup.Read the full definition of Value because we saw last game a ton of minutes really condensed for the um the Pistons they basically ran an eight-man rotation isaiah joe did pick up injury in that game too so you're gonna really want to jam in a lot of these value plays on the piston side if assar does miss um and then the scoot one it's just tough because we you're not gonna have a lot of roster flexibility there but it is pretty big just because he's running the point guard two role
Essentially behind john morant and if that were to if you were to miss like that's twenty minutes that you have to spread around to guys like drew holliday like maybe he gets up to thirty you can see job playoffs like thirty two maybe a couple more for dame so fairly interesting slate in that sense but overall um yeah just kind of looking at these games that are going to blow out I do have a lot of interest in those teams but it's just tough to make the case for them with these bigger spreads Yeah, and we very well might get Azure Thompson news before that Brooklyn-Boston game as well, which makes it a little easier.
We won't highly doubt we get the Scoot news. Who else we got in there? What's up? Big Money. Desba, what's going on? Beetlebane. Beetlebane. What's up, Michael W.? Beetlebane said, open all advice, trying a Twenty-MaxA twenty-max contest lets each user enter up to 20 lineups. We do specify, I believe we did this a year and a half or two years ago, but not much has really changed in the MBA streets. But two hours, we break down everything you need for MBA. Thousand dollars a week or a couple hundred dollars a day I do think ultimate trying out the sims is uh is something that's worth noting uh again annual is cheaper than monthly you can see say twenty percent with starter and core ten percent with annual we also do just have single sport options as well for monthly less than a dollar a day you can get all of our NBA content annual just seventeen dollars and if you do want to add SaberSim it is a little more than that so Best time to join for sure, though.
If you look at all of our sports, NFL is going on. College football is going on. NBA is going on. PGA is still going on. Good prizes on Thursday. MLB will be over tonight. But, hey, that's one sport. MMA, NASCAR, and NHL all going on as well. So we'd love to have you. And definitely do get in the Discord if you do join. Hey, back in Wisco for the celebrations tonight. Yeah, I'll be at home, but I am back in Wisconsin.
Yeah, I say we get right into it, Rio. First game of the night. Big boy favorites. Again, I guess, yeah, broad SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. It determines which events your player selections can come from and which performances count toward your score. Before building, open the contest details and check the included events, scoring period and lock rules. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Read the full definition of Slate. Twelve and a half point favorites of the Celtics. Eighteen and a half point favorites are the Spurs. The other two are less than five. So it is pretty clear where the blowout risk is on this slate. This game, though, yeah, Celtics twelve and a half point favorites. Two twenty two and a half total in this one on the Boston side.
No Injury NewsInjury news is information about a player's health that can change whether they compete, how much they play or how effectively they perform. In DFS, it also affects opportunities for teammates and opponents. Before an uncertain player's game locks, identify an alternative you can afford at each affected position. Check whether making that change would require another player whose game starts earlier.Read the full definition of Injury News to note. On the Brooklyn side, also no new injuries to note. So take it away, Boston and the Nets. Yeah, so clearly a pretty good spot here for Boston, just with the way that they play offense. You know, they're going to be taking a bunch of threes. And whether or not they make them is another thing we saw in the opening night.
The Pistons game looked like they were kind of on their way to routing them and then gave a twenty three to nothing run because they're going to live and die by the three. But overall, a good spot here. The Nets are bottom eight in offense, bottom five in defense after the first week of action. Boston's top six and top ten in those stats. Nets are one of the last year they were one of the best.
I believe they're actually the best team in terms of three point frequency allowed. And this year they're dead last. So they flipped entirely in Boston is going to be firing away a ton here. Top five and three point frequency. So I think there's a clear path for them. Nets are also generally a team that likes to run a little bit slower. Boston's been playing down pace as well. So I wouldn't be surprised if this is a lower scoring game.
I think if choosing one of the games to get overweight on in the players between the two blowouts, I would probably choose that Sacramento Spurs game a little bit more just because the minutes and usage and everything is much more condensed between those two teams. So as for the Nets side of things, I really think you're only considering three guys. That's Randall, MPJ, and De'Ron Sharp. You can make a case for Devin because it is a pretty solid spot for him.
The Celtics have been giving up a ton of threes as well. He's kind of a streaky shooter, but he did have a pretty big game against Cleveland and went five for ten from three in that one. But all in all, if I'm choosing one of these guys, it's going to be Randall or MPJ if Spending UpSpending up means choosing a higher-priced player over a cheaper alternative, using more of your lineup's salary budget at that spot. You may also hear it called paying up.Build a version with your preferred expensive player and another without. Before choosing, check whether either version relies on a cheap player whose expected role still depends on unresolved injury news.Read the full definition of Spending Up or the day run sharp in the value tier. But there are some pretty solid center values tonight. I'm not thinking that he's a great play.
He's kind of run poorly, Sharp has, on fouls committed this season. The Celtics don't really draw a ton of fouls because, like I said, they're going to be on the perimeter a lot more. So he should be safe there. And they're going to need his size in rebounding against Mitchell Robinson and Demias Keita tonight. So in a close game, I could see him playing thirty to thirty-two minutes.
Boston's not been a great rebounding team so far this season, which is surprising because that was kind of the MAIN reason that they got Mitchell Robinson. So overall, kind of a neutral to below average spot for Sharp, just couldn't get there because he is a solid permanent producer. And I think if choosing one of Randall or MPJ, Randall definitely has the better role. He has a thirty three percent assist percentage, eleven percent rebound rate.
So definitely a guy that's more likely to get there off the peripheral stats. But I think the spot is slightly better for MPJ. The Celtics are a decently big three point funnel this season and he's still held pretty strong usage. So I don't want to go overboard on these guys because I would want to save some spots in case Asar does miss. And I'm probably just overall going to be a max two of Brooklyn.
Doubt I even get that many of those guys. It's probably going to be a max one overall. And then the Celtics side, it sounded like early in the day a lot of people were expecting Mitchell Robinson and Paul George to miss because they haven't really been playing a ton of back-to-backs recently. But both those guys are off the injury report. Derek White's probable, so they'll have their fully healthy team.
But yeah, Tatum's just had an amazing role this season, like we expected, starting things off. I think he's...
At a career high in usage he's second on the team in touch time first and assist percentage so just a really strong role for a guy in a really good spot the Nets have been giving up a ton of pretty big stat lines to opposing power forwards this season so I like his chances of putting up a big game here was on his way to a big one last night but just lost about ten minutes of run due to blowout tilting yeah it was tough it looked like he was gonna crush and just didn't really do much in the second half um Payne Pritchard, I mean, he was awesome in that game.
Twenty eight points in just twenty two minutes. So he's definitely in play. I think, like, Wyatt and PG are just fine for their price tags. Probably prefer PG a little bit more. Just the Nets are going to be running a lot of traps at lead ball handlers. So you're going to see some really open looks for these secondary scoring options. So Paul George is a guy that I'm definitely looking at here. Derek White is just kind of, I don't know. The role hasn't been great for him.
He's not taking a ton of shots. He's shooting better, but on pretty limited volume. So I'm going to have to wait and see before going there. And then Keita and Mitch Robb are going to be splitting things again. I probably don't. I was excited to play Keita early on, but now that Mitch Robinson's back, they're running somewhat of a three-man center rotation. It's just really hard for any of these guys to separate in a big way.
So I'm not really too excited about the big men for Boston. Yeah, I think on FanDuel, Mitch Robb makes a lot more sense. Obviously, with their new format over there, centers with the stock upside. Mitch Robb only $4,000. So he makes more sense. He will be higher owned on FanDuel as well, though, by quite a bit. Derek White, yeah, he also tilted me yesterday. But, I mean, it is a four-game slate.
So if you are trying to get ContrarianA contrarian play or lineup is one built around choices most of the field will not make, such as low-owned players, unpopular teams or an unusual salary structure.Pick one or two contrarian spots per lineup and ground each in a real reason. The rest of the roster can look like the field.Read the full definition of Contrarian or Jason Tatum or Paul George's showing and get a good amount of OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. So don't hate it just to get different on a Slate SizeSlate size is the number of games or matchups included in a DFS contest's schedule. Would definitely group away the Cato's, the Mitrov's of the world. Really don't have too much more to add. Would you play Randall and MPJ together on this slate?
I'd have to look at exactly how they CorrelationCorrelation describes how two players' fantasy scores move together. Positively correlated players tend to have big games at the same time, usually because one player's success directly adds points for the other. When you build a tournament lineup, ask which of your players need the same thing to happen. The more of them that do, the higher your lineup's ceiling.Read the full definition of Correlation, but off the top of my head, I don't think that I would. SaberSim says it's good, but if I would, you're playing this game to stay close. I would want at least one Boston on the other side and maybe just you're stacking the spends and hoping to back and forth. I wouldn't mind Tatum in that lineup as well.
Then you're starting to spend a lot of money, but there is some value we can get to later, and it's going to be pretty LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Read the full definition of Leverage. Yeah, I think that's a good point that you made, too, just in terms of Roster ConstructionRoster construction is how you organize a DFS lineup within its salary cap and roster rules. It includes where you spend or save, which positions you prioritize, and how your players fit together.Build two versions around your biggest spending decision, then compare every player who changes. Like, it's not necessary, but the smaller that you make these slates, the more open you should be to doing something like that because if that is the game that is close, if that's the game that you get overtime in, like, you know where the points are coming from on Brooklyn's side, and these prices are pretty – pretty solid for randall and mpj so I think that is kind of interesting I was kind of going to allude to that in the Sacramento and Spurs game when we got there but yeah I think it's a good point that you brought up with the mpj and randall Yeah, four games like last night on the bigger slate.
Minnesota went to overtime and had plenty of good scores, but it didn't mean as much as one of these four games go to overtime. It definitely means more. The only other thing I got, and it's not even about this game, but kind of Boston, like, bro, how weird is Jalen Brown? Yeah, he's kind of cringy. It's just cringy, if anything. Cringy, weird. That dude's got something going on. But, yeah, that's all. I'll leave it there. All right, let's get to the second game.
This one's at seven or seven p.m. Eastern, eight p.m. Eastern, seven central time. Biggest favorites on the SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. Two thirty two and a half total. One point less overall. Then the Lakers and the Blazers. Injuries on this one. On the Spurs side, no. Tobias Harris on the Kings side, no. Keegan Murray, that is all I got. No Q tags in this one. Again, a big boy spread on this one.
But we are seeing some OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Read the full definition of Ownership, mainly Precious. Again, I'm taking our average of Ship It Nation and SaberSim over here. But Levine, how do we pronounce this? The A-cuff. Man, that dude loves to chuck the ball, and I would hate to play with him, but...
Yeah for DFS anyone that's gonna shoot the ball twenty five plus times I don't care what his price is I'll have some interest uh can he sustain that though before he just loses all uh all friends on the team I'm curious to hear your take on that mean it sounds like he can doug christie is encouraging him to continue to be aggressive like I I think everybody on the king's roster right now knows that they're not part of the long-term plan so it's like let's let this younger guy develop I don't know what and who they would be
Trading sabonis and levine and like these other guys like malik monkford but I'd imagine they're not on the team Definitely not past this year, but I wouldn't be surprised if they get traded at some point this season. Levine's a little bit harder to trade because I think he has a really dumb, expensive salary right now. But yeah, I mean, everything points to Chrissy encouraging him to continue to do it.
So like you said, it's hard to overlook somebody with that high of a Usage RateUsage rate estimates the percentage of a team's offensive plays a player uses while on the court, based on shot attempts, free throw attempts and turnovers. It does not measure assists or time spent holding the ball.Check who shared the floor in any usage sample. He just hasn't put it all together yet. I don't think that this would be the matchup for him to do it, but I'm still going to be playing him basically every night that we get a chance to on these MAIN slates just because when he does put it together, it could look like a really, really big game. The usage is just outrageous for him.
As far as how the matchup goes here between these two teams the kings look like the worst team in the NBA this season their bottom three defensive rating bottom five and offensive rating Spurs have so much working in their favor here uh kings are also bottom six and three point defense bottom three pick and roll defense bottom six transition defense so there's just you could pick like pick anybody on the Spurs they're gonna have a really good matchup here Spurs I think this is a great get right spot for them they've been Pretty underwhelming so far this season, slightly above average defense, but a below average offense.
I'd expect the efficiency to be there tonight, though. This is just a really good get-right spot for Wimby and co., But, yeah, the King side of things, I already mentioned the Acuff stuff, but a lot of that applies to Sabonis and Levine as well. We've seen there be a little bit of coach speak about getting Sabonis more involved in offense.
Even Acuff said that after the first or second game, and you saw what the upset could look for him like when he does get more involved, had the Triple-Double BonusThe triple-double bonus is extra fantasy scoring for recording at least 10 in three categories: points, rebounds, assists, steals or blocks. In DraftKings NBA Classic, it adds 3 points on top of the player's statistical scoring and double-double bonus.Check how often a player reaches all three thresholds in the same game under a similar role. Separate averages for points, rebounds and assists can overstate the likelihood.Read the full definition of Triple-Double Bonus in game two, fifty points in game one. The Portland, I think, is a pretty solid defense as well, maybe not as good as the Spurs are. But yeah, if the Kings are able to keep it close, I expect one of these vets and maybe Acuff to be a reason why.
So that's kind of why I'm thinking about applying that same rule. Like if I have two of Sabonis, Acuff, or Levine, then to have one of Wemby, Castle, Fox, or Harper, um, I think that those guys on the Spurs side could get there without bringing back a Kings sub, so I don't know. I have to see if there's enough rosters that I have that have Wemby and no other Kings because I don't want that to be an overlapping rule.
But, yeah, I do think that if these Kings guys get there, you're probably bringing along some of these Spurs guys because this is a pretty appealing game overall from a game total standpoint. Go ahead. I was just – Keep going. I'll say it at the end. It's just surprising, I guess, that the Kings are garnering more ownership. I don't even necessarily know if it's sorted there.
If Fox is going to be higher than Levine and Acuff, three of the top four highest-owned guys in this game very well might be from the Kings side. Yeah, I don't know. We've had this issue before with Saverson early in the day where the ownership does skew a little bit. Like there's no way that I don't think even on four game slates, the bonus is going to be less than one percent on. So I probably wait to see what it looks like.
But yeah, if that is true, that doesn't feel as good. Like I wouldn't want to be overweight on Acuff or Levine at like twenty and thirty percent. It was more so if they were going to be five to ten percent than you get around twenty percent. I think they're going to be over twenty.
All right, then I would probably walk back on what I've been saying about them because I think that they looked a lot better just at their projected ownership that I was seeing earlier in the day. But if that's not going to be true, then I wouldn't want to go. I wouldn't want to be taking an overweight stance on a team that has a lot of ways that they can fail and they're not even coming in with low ownership. But yeah, definitely do refresh.
Like no way Sabonis is going to be less than that. I just think a lot of people, it's going to be Tatum. Like I think when he's going to be relatively low on, I think it's going to be Tatum and then $6,000 $5,000 got like, and then some of this mid tier type stuff and be a lot more balanced, which the Kings do fit some just straight on ProjectionsDFS projections estimate a player's fantasy points for an upcoming slate using expected opportunities, performance and the contest's scoring rules. They describe an expected result, not a guaranteed score.Check the projection's update time and assumed role before using it. If news is already included, adjusting again for that same news can double-count its effect.Read the full definition of Projections and usage. But yeah, I could be wrong for sure. Yeah, yeah, so we'll see.
I think Levine is fine, though, if the ownership is a little bit lower just because he's had a really good usage role. I think that he probably has a little bit of a better matchup. I think they'll have Castle and Acuff because they usually like to put Castle on the lead ball handler, so that probably means Dylan Harper on Levine, definitely. Harper's a really good defender, too. He's huge for a guard.
But if a guy's taking twenty five field goal attempts, he's going to be playing a ton of minutes, too. Like it's hard to say that he's a bad play at six point $5,000 with that type of role. And then Precious is going to be the ChalkChalk is the most popular, highly owned play on a slate. Ask whether each popular play deserves its ownership, then decide which chalk you'll eat and which you'll fade.Read the full definition of Chalk. Probably the chalk is value playing the slate, but for good reason. I mean, Doug Christie loves this guy. He wants to play him a ton. No Keegan Murray.
It's opening up the door for him to play a ton. Thirty nine minutes last game. Got a Double-DoubleA double-double is when a basketball player records at least 10 in two of five statistical categories in one game: points, rebounds, assists, steals or blocks. So I'm totally fine with Precious if he's going to be playing as much as he is. I'd probably cut it off there, though. I don't know if there's enough. Like maybe we run into a good game from Malik Monk, but they've been capping him at like twelve minutes. I'm not really sure what's going on there.
I see Plowden getting a little bit of ownership. Not my type of guy. Um, Who's getting the blowout? Kings are up twenty five going in the fourth quarter, thirty going in the fourth. I mean, I'm like a slate like yesterday. I don't even really care, but it could get a little interesting on a four game. Who's going to get some first half run that just will still get like all the last eight minutes or something if there is anybody on the king side.
So their minutes are clearly under projected in blowouts, but still aren't drawing stone dead if it is a close game.
I'd have to double check but it seems like this emmanuel sharp guy is one of those guys that's playing first and second half and then I would say plowden and mobo okay um I mean you look back at game at night one they got blown out I think they were down by like twenty or something going into the fourth quarter against the Clippers and then they still had their guys out there like a cut from the being played thirty six savannah's played thirty four So you're they just know it's going to be a normal occasion.
So you might as well just another night for the Kings. Yeah. And you do see that a little bit more in the beginning of the season because these teams are just they're still starting to learn about their team. Like we saw the heat down was like twenty something against Minnesota and both teams had their stars out there until about a minute or two left in the game.
So these teams will probably be playing it at close to straight up early on, maybe a little bit less so now. But yeah, I think that the Kings have a pretty straightforward rotation. Anything else in this one? Yeah, I mean, the Spurs side, I think all these guys look really good. It's going to be a max two of Castle, Fox, and Harper for me. I like all these guys a ton. Just really hard to get multiple of them separating in a big way.
How I would rank the guards, it's really close, but I think... I think I'm leaning Fox first. The issue is that the dual positional point guard shooting guard side look really good. So just having that flexibility will probably lean to a little bit more Dylan Harper. But Fox has had a pretty solid role. Forty percent assist percentage this season leading the team in touch time. If it's going to be a cup guarding him, that's definitely a really good spot.
I think that he probably does pick up that matchup. Harper, the usage and offense involvement has been pretty solid, but he just hasn't been adding enough of the peripheral stats to really be like a dominant DFS option just yet. Great matchup here, so it could come tonight. And maybe this is a spot where Fox takes a little bit of a step back for the younger guys like Harper and Castle. Castle is second on the team behind usage or in usage behind Wemby.
But same thing for him, like sharing touches with Fox and Harper have been a little bit tougher uh the one thing that I found interesting with castle was that he's been a lot more reliant on the jumper this season uh taking eight or more threes per game and only has one free throw attempt so far so I'd prefer him to see prefer to see him attacking the basket a little bit more but it seems like they're really making a point of emphasis to develop the jumper from him this season and he's been solid like the three percentage is decent this year um Yeah, I really like Wimby here.
He's killed Sabonis in the past. I was looking through some of their matchups over the past couple seasons. I don't think that they faced off last year. But, I mean, he has in the last three matchups, eighty and a half DK points, seventy one and a half, sixty two point eight. And then he had... A dud in forty one point three at this price that would not be good. But those other three games look really solid.
And Savonis is a guy that I really like to text. I just don't think that he's that great of a defender. A lot of the value is coming from the center position tonight. So Webby could really get squeezed in a big way. I'd want to be overweight there. I think that this is like the spot to buy into him having a big game. Yeah, I definitely think Wemby gets squeezed in this one. Would you make it a point to run any King back with Wemby?
Or no, because he can get there in twenty nine minutes and get you sixty something and still the Kings just flop. Yeah, I don't think that you need to because I could definitely see a hyper efficient game from him in like thirty minutes. Thirty points, double digit rebounds, handful of steals and blocks. Makes sense. You probably aren't going to get all three of Castle, Harper, and Fox, but you make a rule to avoid that. Obviously, they're all guards, so it feels wrong.
But again, we're only talking four games. Yeah, I'd probably be a max two of those three. Makes sense. I got nothing else in this one. You? No, Keldon and Champagne are definitely guys that are in the Player PoolA player pool is the set of players you consider using in your DFS lineups for a slate, the games or events included in a contest. Just you're going to need some value at the forward position. So those guys are fine. I think Champagne is a little bit better, though. For sure, especially if you are playing Wembley, you need some value.
And they're not looking to get too much ownership. Oh, Jake was at the game last night. All right, all right. Good luck tonight, Jake. You'll need it. All right, next game on the slate. We did get a quote that – they're optimistic Thompson plays today, so I'm just going to go based on – that he's playing. Again, we might get clarity before that six thirty game, but I'm I'm assuming he plays after that quote.
So don't like shy away from the Brooklyn Boston game if you like it because of Thompson news. And then Isaiah Joe is questionable as well as Thompson, but they're optimistic about him. Obviously, Durin is going to be out for a couple of weeks.
Paul Reed was, I mean, I had a hundred percent Paul Reed. I think it was Sunday. He was like eighty four percent on still thought it was he didn't even do that great. He was on the winner, though. I still thought eighty four percent was too low. That kind of just shows NBA is its own beast, like an NFL and MLB, NHL. There's no chance. Eighty five percent or ninety percent or I'm getting one hundred percent of players.
I shouldn't say NFL, I guess something that's completely, completely mispriced. But still, NBA, that's sometimes the right move. You're seeing a lot of OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Read the full definition of Ownership, though, with Paul Reed. And I think this number is probably higher when it's all said and done. But Pistons, Knicks, close spread looking to get some ownership in this one. What do you think? Yeah, I mean, I think this is a pretty good game. Should be at least fun from a viewing standpoint.
Two of the better teams in the East, although the Knicks still searching for their first win. But yeah, two defensively-minded teams. Detroit's sixth this season so far. Knicks are twelfth. Expect them to get better as the season goes along. Yeah, New York is along the fourth-highest three-point frequency this season. Detroit is...
Team that's kind of letting them letting teams eat in the mid-range a little bit more I think it's a fine spot for brunson um but there's really not a ton of huge holes defensively outside of the Knicks being a three-point final Detroit is not that great of a three-point shooting team although they did get better and they have a couple guys that are performing well above expectations so far this season uh be a two elite pick and roll defenses this year so not a great on paper matchup for these star point guards um Yeah, we saw last game Paul Reed in the starting lineup.
They basically ran an eight-man rotation. Javonte Green and John Collins were kind of checking in at that four or five spot behind Reed, and Reed did run into some foul trouble. So I agree with you that playing a hundred percent of him was definitely the right move because I don't know what he was priced at on that slate, but even at like five point $2,000, he seems under value or underpriced. I can check real quick. I think he was cheaper.
He was... I'll find it when you're continuing to talk. Regardless what it was, though, it was too cheap. As for the Piston side of things, with Durant out, we do see a small increase for Cade in terms of his usage, but a slight decrease to the assist percentage in the non-Durant minutes. Knicks have generally been using a mixture of matchups against Cade. It's been a little bit of Mikael Bridges, a little bit of OG over the past couple of seasons.
He's done fine against both those guys, averaging over twenty one points for seventy five double digit assists for seventy five. And then a really wide range of fantasy scoring had a high of sixty nine DK points last year and a low of twenty seven point three. I think of him at single digit ownership is pretty solid, but definitely not a guy that I think is much better than some of the spin ups around him.
I'd find the salary to get up to Luca. I think Wemby's better. Tatum is a lot better. But yeah, he's definitely in play here. It's just generally a pretty low over-under. Don't think I want to go too overboard there. And then, yeah, you mentioned that Asar, it sounds like he's going to play tonight.
So that was taking my interest off of Dennis Jenkins and guys like Herter and Duffy Robinson pretty much out of play because we saw them really condense last game. But I think with Asar back, He's going to take enough handling and minutes away from those guys. I actually do think that Duncan is somewhat interesting just because he's been shooting the lights out so far this season. I think he's averaging like nineteen points per game and over five threes made per game.
And nobody's going to be playing him. You're really just hoping for a really high scoring output game for him because he's not going to add much else. But yeah, he's playing a good amount of minutes, probably getting him around like thirty minutes a night. I actually don't even know if a good game from him would be enough, but I think I'm in. I'm definitely in his usage over twenty each game.
But like when he is hot, like that Boston game, he's the sole reason they got back in it. He's just so, so good off screens and like he's always he's always ready. You can draw fouls on a slate where we got to look, get a little ContrarianA contrarian play or lineup is one built around choices most of the field will not make, such as low-owned players, unpopular teams or an unusual salary structure.Pick one or two contrarian spots per lineup and ground each in a real reason. The rest of the roster can look like the field.Read the full definition of Contrarian. I'll overspend for a guy that's very volatile like him because that's how you get Wemby. That's how you can jam Tatum chalk and all that. So, yeah, I'm I'm in on Duncan for sure. Does Isaiah Joe news do anything for him?
Yeah, I mean, I think that the back end rotation will definitely condense a little bit more. That's probably more of a Kevin Herter thing. I think that Herter probably steps in for whatever minutes that they would be giving Isaiah Joe and maybe a little bit more of Dennis Jenkins. But yeah, I mean, he should be pretty safe. Like, twenty eight is the low and I would say thirty two is probably the high for Herter, which is solid for him. He's been for her.
I mean, Duncan. Oh, sorry for Duncan. Yeah, he's been above twenty seven points in every game. What, almost six X's salary, so that's pretty good. And on the same note, like, I would add in a little bit of, like, a sprinkle of Dennis Jenkins because they really like him, and they're going to need some secondary handling for the non-Cade minutes. Not sure if they're going to want to give all that to Asar coming off the injury.
He's been really strong, can really fill up the stat sheet in a big way. I have nothing to say about Reid. I think that he's a totally solid ValueValue is the fantasy production you expect from a player relative to his salary. A value play offers more production or upside than his price suggests, whether he is cheap or expensive.Identify why the salary looks wrong: workload, matchup, scoring ability or a pricing error. Then check whether that reason still holds when you submit your lineup.Read the full definition of Value play tonight, a five point $2,000, probably a core play, I would say. And then Collins, I think we're starting to get to the max price tag for him.
Yeah, I just don't know if a good game, which has been thirty five point two five in his last two games, is going to be enough at his price tag. Paul Reid was for two on that slate, which is. And do you agree that forty five percent is probably too low, even in the flagship? Yeah, I do agree that it's going to be slow. I'd probably end up with like seventy percent tonight.
You think that even like you think that's miscalculating what The FieldThe field is everyone else entered in a contest, the group of lineups you are competing against. Before you build, picture the typical lineup in your contest. Then decide on purpose where you'll match it and where you'll step away from it.Read the full definition of The Field is going to do to like I'm thinking like a fifty seven percent or something. What do you think? Yeah. I mean, there's enough cheap center options that there might be. He might be safe. Like Sharp and Kata are getting a little bit. Robert Williams for cheaper. Collins, same team, but center position. It's probably closer to like fifty five, I would say. Yeah, that's how I see it.
That's it for me on the Piston side of things. Nick's side, it's pretty much just the starters. I'm not going to mess around with any of the bench guys. I think we got as good of a game as we'll ever get from Andre Drummond night one, and nobody was playing him. So annoying. Yeah, that was awful. Can't stay out of foul trouble.
No yeah it's always always been the issue for him but um yeah I mean I like the spot for both cat and brunson here I think that cat has a pretty solid matchup probably a little bit better matchup than brunson does paul reed fine defender but not on the same level as jalen duran cat's been very consistent this year Double-DoubleA double-double is when a basketball player records at least 10 in two of five statistical categories in one game: points, rebounds, assists, steals or blocks. Points with rebounds or assists are the most common combinations.Check whether your fantasy-point projection already includes milestone bonuses before adding anything yourself. An average of 10 rebounds does not mean a player reaches 10 every game.Read the full definition of Double-Double in each of his three games twenty two points in back-to-back games I think it's a fair price tag for cat As for Brunson, it's just there's a lot of really solid point guard and point guard shooting guard options tonight that might make him a little bit tougher to get to.
But yeah, I mean, he's struggling a bit this season, definitely not playing as good as we would expect from him. Asar sounds like he's going to play and Asar has done really well against Brunson in the past, held him to under eighteen points for seventy five, fifty four percent true shooting. So pretty poor numbers for Brunson.
Maybe Asar is a little bit limited and you get a guy like Cade on Brunson a little bit more or somebody else, not sure who else they put on him, like maybe Jenkins or Duncan or something like that. But either way, if you get his minutes staggered away from Asar, then I expect him to do much better because he's done really good against Cade in the past.
Yeah, I just think they're going to need a big game for one of Cato Brunson to get their first win. They're projected to win here at home, so...
We get a solid game not sure if it's going to be enough from either but I would probably link cat here and then hart og and mikhail bridges kind of know what to expect from each of these guys I think if you're looking for upside it's probably og heart is a little bit more of a FloorIn daily fantasy sports (DFS), a player's floor is an estimate of the low end of their realistic fantasy scoring range. Very tough click.
A hundred percent. I agree there. I wouldn't. Rio's the expert though. Yeah, I wouldn't. Yeah. Oh yeah. Azure Tom or Thompson. Holy cow. That stat night one that he didn't, no one scored on him. I'm Boston the whole game. That's insane. My, I still think like they're optimistic. He's going to play. Like if he's out there, I see him guarding.
Brunson like I'd be surprised if he didn't so yeah that does lower a little interest with that being said there's always switches brunson can get his but yeah I it's not a matchup I want to pick on by any means which just naturally leads me more to the cat side another guy thinks under uh or projected lower own than he will come in at is og I think five seven if just fits so many builds I could see him being at least ten percent higher yeah All right, let's move on to the last game of the night.

Is there any thought of maybe one hundred twenty of your teams are going to be normal and thirty your teams you'll build like scoots out or anything like that?
No I probably won't be building in sets I'm just gonna kind of hope that we get the news early enough but I don't think we're going to because they generally generally been pretty bad at reporting injuries and like shoot around stuff and we don't have anything as of now I'm not sure if it's like it's not like we're subbing out denny for somebody cheaper like it's still like a back-end rotation guy it's only playing in twenty minutes so it's like Maybe you start with him out and you get a little bit more of the Dame and Ja and Denny, but I don't think it's really slate changing as much.
Drew would look really good, but I think he's already looking like a pretty solid ValueValue is the fantasy production you expect from a player relative to his salary. I think this is the highest or the second highest over under on the slate. Highest. Yeah, highest. The Spurs and Sacramento is behind that. But, you know, that's all pretty much the Spurs are holding that one up.
Um but yeah these both teams are undefeated granted the Blazers only play two games but they've looked really impressive offensively uh these are the first and second ranked offenses in the NBA so far Portland is first in NBA frequency Lakers have just been getting it done on elite efficiency sixty seven and a half true shooting percentage as a team which is first in the NBA um Yeah, we're seeing Denny project for a ton of OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. I think it's higher than what Sabre currently has projected just because he fits a lot of builds at this price tag. If it's close to thirty percent, I think he's good, but I honestly expect it to be nearly fifty percent range, which would maybe change my tune a little bit. The role has been fine for him. It's been modest usage of twenty eight percent.
He does leave the team there, contributes a little bit with the assist and rebounding as well, though not in the same level that we've seen from him in years past. The offense has been great with him on the court, one hundred thirty point two offensive rating, but He should see a familiar face defensively. Matisse Taibo, I would expect to be the primary defender there. Taibo was a great defender. I think that was a huge pickup for the Lakers.
I've been hiding him for a really long time, but he just was buried in Portland for a couple years. Hiding him since Washington when they played the two-three zone. He was an absolute monster. Yeah, he's just a really, really good player. I think that he provides some just like a winning basketball player in my eyes, just a solid three and D guy. Really good defender, though. He's just always involved in deflections and making things happen on defense.
But yeah, I think this is going to be a pretty tough spot for Denny going up against Ty Bull. And even Zaire Williams has been pretty solid defensively. But with all that being said, like on a four game slate, I'm not really going to be FadeTo fade a player is to leave him out of your lineups on purpose, usually because you expect him to be popular or you think he is a poor play.Fade with a reason, not a feeling. The guards for Portland, I think, are in really good spots, especially if we get the news early on that Scoot were to miss. I think that Dame and Ja and Drew all look good for different reasons. But Dame struggled a little bit last game, but looked awesome in his first game back, fully back to full minutes as well. They've had four days off since their last game, so they should be really well rested.
So I think this is a pretty good spot for Dame here in primetime, APM, in LA. I really like the spot for Dame. Same thing for Ja. Probably not getting there from a scoring standpoint, but He settled in pretty nicely to his role, leading the team in assist percentage, second in touch time. And then if Scoot were to miss, he's really the guy that has been taken away minutes from jaw. They only overlap for a handful of minutes.
So I think if we get jaw like thirty to thirty two minutes, he could really hit in a big way.
Drew I think you're playing him regardless I get $5,000 shooting guard small four I think that he's very strong uh really have nothing to say there could only get better not into kamara or clinging just don't think this is a good spot for clinging against walker kessler for kamara I don't know he's just not playing as much minutes as he was last year losing minutes to a guy like drew holliday just doesn't doesn't feel good so I don't think I'm going to go there at all I think robert williams is a guy that definitely belongs in a Player PoolA player pool is the set of players you consider using in your DFS lineups for a slate, the games or events included in a contest. But I do think Luka and Austin Reeves are two of the better plays at the guard positions tonight. Luka coming off of his best game of the season against my Utah Jazz, went for fifty two points in thirty eight minutes. I mean, just a massive usage role like there's really nothing to say there.
He does have a tougher matchup against Drew and Kamara tonight, but I don't really think that it matters as much when you got a guy with a forty four percent Usage RateUsage rate estimates the percentage of a team's offensive plays a player uses while on the court, based on shot attempts, free throw attempts and turnovers. It does not measure assists or time spent holding the ball.Check who shared the floor in any usage sample. Numbers collected against reserves or with several starters missing may not describe the role you are projecting tonight.Read the full definition of Usage Rate this season. Yeah, I'm totally fine with Luka at eleven point $3,000. I think he's great. I like Reeves for a different reason. He's just been extremely efficient as a scorer. Eighty two percent true shooting percentage. One hundred thirty three point two offensive rating while on the court.
Definitely going to have a much softer matchup than Luka. So you get him for $3,000 cheaper. He's averaging four to three and a half points per game this season. So totally fine with either one of those two guys. Walker Kessler is interesting because I think that there's a really wide range of outcomes. We saw last game, I don't know exactly what it was, but I think is definitely one of his worst games of the year.
Yeah, it's well point to five DK points against his former team. That's definitely gonna be within the range of outcomes when you go against a team that's better on the interior, which I guess just really haven't been but he wasn't getting those same easy law passes like he was against the Warriors opening night.
Don't think that can really happen here, but I think that the upside case for a guy like Walker Kessler is that the Blazers have two of the most drive-heavy players in the NBA in John Morant and Denny Obdia, so that could lead to some extra blocks and steals opportunities, but also more potential foul trouble. Klingin's not going to really be pulling him away from the basket, so I think that there is a shot for him to have...
You know five to six blocks and we saw what that looks like game two he had fifty four DK points um see I think he's for sure in play these French guys though I think aren't great you're probably going to be getting them just because optos are going to be looking for these cheaper options but I think I'm most interested in Tybill once again at three point $8,000 just starting playing, you know, mid to upper twenties minutes, the guy that can fill it up at times.
I think that he looks really good. Zaire has been given a pretty long leash in the starting unit as well. I think the starters are the two guys I'm most interested in. I think this is where I would implement some rules on guys like Grimes. I wouldn't play Grimes with Zaire.
I would not play Sandro with Walker Kessler and I would not play more than two of Sexton, Luca or Reeves, uh, But, yeah, I think Zaire is kind of – or, sorry, Matisse Tybalt is for sure one of the best forward options for value outside of Precious Achua. I mean, yeah, he has the nut spot. Just sit there in the corner, let Luka draw the attention, and just get wide open shots and chuck. I like it.
And we're showing Zaire double the ownership of Tybalt, so I definitely prefer him. On the – would you make a rule Robert Williams and Klingon max one? Yeah, I think I would. Yeah. I don't really have too much more to add in this game. They said earlier that management up above wants to keep JT. So we'll see how long that lasts, though. But I do think Downs is probably the next one to go. Chiefs are looking for receivers, but I think they should probably find a big body receiver first.
I'm not sure that's the fit I would go to. Any thoughts on you? Makes sense to keep an aging running back on a rebuilding team. Definitely a good idea. Brian Thomas Jr. Potential to the Chiefs? Yeah. I would definitely be on the phone if I was the Chiefs looking for Brian Thomas for sure. Yeah. That's going to do it again. Just heading back over to our Ship It Nation website. If you do want to join us, Discord, a huge part of our NBA Process.
See plans and pricing. The longer you're with us, the cheaper it gets. Again, you say twenty percent with starter and core from monthly. If you sign up for the annual, ten percent with the ultimate package includes SaberSim as well. If you're just in the NBA streets and no other sports, which I'd be kind of surprised NFL is going on. And almost everyone plays NFL.
But if that's the case, monthly and annual packages over here, less than a dollar a day for the month. Seventeen dollars a month for NBA annual. And you can upgrade to get SaberSim as well for a couple dollars more. Go Brewers! And good luck in your NBA contest tonight. Final thoughts from you, Rio, before we get on out of here. No. Well, we have one thing, I guess.
I forgot to mention this, and I don't even know if we've talked about it before, but we do have a new tool for NBA that will be going live on the site, I believe, tomorrow. So we'll do a little walkthrough of that if we have time, depending on how big the slate is tomorrow. Things you love to hear. That's going to do it for us. Definitely tune in tomorrow to get a look at that.
Do us a favor, hit that like, hit that subscribe on the way out. It helps us out a ton. For real, I'm Title Town. Good luck. Be safe. Peace.
