The Short Version

Matthew Belman and Ryan Davenport break down a six-game Thursday slate with several viable pitching builds. Jack Perkins ($5,500) offers salary relief and lower ownership in Seattle, while Cade Anderson ($7,200) is underpriced against the Athletics. Pairing them opens expensive bats. Tarik Skubal projects as the highest scorer but is not mandatory, and Logan Henderson supplies a contrarian spend-up. Baltimore weather needs monitoring, and Chicago's wind no longer favors hitters.

The Dodgers stack ranks first despite respect for Quinn Mathews, with the Cardinals bullpen adding appeal. Miami's cheap hitters get a major park upgrade, but exposure does not require five-man stacks. Kansas City supplies a pricier, lower-owned alternative in the same game. The Rays are a preferred contrarian stack against Cal Quantrill, and the Athletics offer leverage against Anderson. Tommy Edman and Vinnie Pasquantino receive the home run calls.

Plays Mentioned

PlayCallThe TakeAt
Red Sox IN PLAY Affordable and usable against Brandon Young, but expected ownership and better alternatives keep them from being a priority. 5:56
FADE Not interested despite his strong recent outing against the Yankees. 5:56
Orioles FADE Not interested in a full stack against Bennett, while individual pieces remain usable. 5:56
ONE-OFF At $3,500 batting third, included as an initial lineup piece, although the hosts are split on using him. 6:25
SP A contrarian spend-up with improved pitching weather at Wrigley and much less expected ownership than Skubal, despite facing a hot Cubs offense. 9:06
Brewers FADE Passing on a popular Milwaukee stack with the weather changing and enough respect for Gausman to prefer other spots. 9:39
Marlins IN PLAY Cheap salaries and a major park upgrade justify exposure against Michael Wacha without requiring a five-man stack or inclusion in every lineup. 11:44
Royals LEVERAGE A more expensive, lower-owned alternative to Miami, with stolen-base potential and a favorable hitting environment against Alcantara. 11:44
SP Only a fringe 150-max option because of the park downgrade, inconsistent form and stronger alternatives above and below his salary. 13:01
SP In play at $7,300 after a strong stretch, although the Rays stack is preferred because his underlying numbers are less convincing. 14:32
ONE-OFF A favored Tampa Bay bat against Quantrill's reverse splits, with enough power upside to justify the expensive salary. 15:23
ONE-OFF A favored Tampa Bay piece against a pitcher who has shown reverse splits. 15:23
ONE-OFF An appealing Tampa Bay piece because he is expected to run when he reaches base. 15:23
SP Usable only in 150-max settings, with little enthusiasm for this matchup. 16:49
Rangers IN PLAY A defensible 150-max stack against McClanahan, but enthusiasm is limited and Tampa Bay's upside is preferred. 17:19
SP At $7,200, too cheap for his projection against a weak Athletics lineup in Seattle, though substantial ownership is expected. 18:50
SP At $5,500, preferred for the salary savings and park upgrade despite greater risk, with strikeouts and a better expected ERA supporting the case. 23:21
Cardinals FADE Not stacking against Skubal on this six-game slate despite recent success against other Dodgers pitchers. 25:48
SP The best pitcher and projected highest scorer, worth using when salary permits but not a required spend-up. 26:17
His stuff is respected after a strong previous start, but the Dodgers present a much tougher matchup than Pittsburgh. 26:44
Dodgers TOP STACK Ranked above Miami and Kansas City despite respect for Mathews, with a weak Cardinals bullpen behind him. 27:09
Rays LEVERAGE The preferred low-owned stack against Quantrill, whose recent results are viewed as better than his underlying ability. 30:09
HR CALL Called to homer after a productive couple of games. 30:09
Athletics LEVERAGE A contrarian five-man stack against a popular Anderson, accepting the park downgrade for a nearly unowned offense. 31:13
HR CALL Called to take Alcantara deep. 31:13

And Ship It Nation YouTube station we are back with another edition of the MLB show it's your boy ham filling in for g rising who's having issues with the interwebs and the power up in the big d Detroit I'm here with my guy Belman normally get us on a on a Friday but today you're getting this on a Thursday Matt uh what's going on man you had another close one yesterday and you've been balling out of control over there in the MLB streets how's your week been so far what's going on my man Oh, man, happy to see you.

1:15

Always love these shows. Double dip just like last week, so pumped for that. And, yeah, man, I made a – I didn't even tell you about this because I was so embarrassed. I might just have to break it on air. But, yeah, first, the tilt yesterday was real. You know, should have – I mean, I say should have. Should have, could have, would have taken down the early slate, if Trevor Rodgers just gets that W. Two outs, two strikes in the ninth. Baseball happens, so it is what it is.

1:46

It was still nice to come in second, although that drop-off is pretty, pretty nasty, as we've talked about a bunch recently. So it was just pretty poetic that it happened like that, and also a lineup that I had in the mix that I didn't play would have beat that lineup. So frustrating, but still we're close. It was a nice day profit-wise, so we'll take it.

2:06

But in the process of that, I played a couple of night slate lineups too, or main slate, however it was called yesterday. I made a mistake that I have not made in probably, I don't even know, years of MLB or any sport DFS. The last time I can think of I made a mistake like this is in League of Legends DFS, which I also play a lot, but much easier to make mistakes like this.

2:32

In my best lineup, I had a guy who was not in the starting lineup. Kiki? Yeah, exactly. I don't know how that happened. How did you even – Well, he was projected to be in there, yeah. Okay, so I must – I took him out. Yeah, and honestly, I was so tilted over the afternoon slate that I just somehow overlooked it because I must have misread it for Teoscar, Ohio.

3:00

I also had a bunch of, and yeah, bro, just tilting all around because it was my best lineup finish, thirteenth. So just tilted, you know, but But that's what DFS will do to you. You've got to take the wins when they come. So we're not greedy over here. Hopefully we get all the way to the top tonight. Enough about me. How are you? Well, yeah, hold on. So that begs the question. Like, yeah, so you saw Hernandez. Yeah, I'm good. Hernandez is in there.

3:26

I'm golden. And it's the wrong Hernandez. I don't even know. I mean, this also comes with not checking DraftKings enough after the slate starts, you know, because I play minimal lineups. I don't need to check it. My lineups are set. I had a school event, as I told you about, for my four-year-old. My wife was on my ass for being on my phone. So, you know. You know how it goes. Oh, heck, yeah. No, it sounds good.

3:51

Yeah, I've been rocking and rolling this week, doing the day-to-day job. And our guy, G_Rizen, got smashed by Mother Nature. Hopefully, you're safe, though, G_Rizen. Up there in Detroit. I got this up on the screen right now. If you are a member over here at Ship It Nation, head on over there now. NFL only package gets you all the way through the Suter Bowl. That's three hundred forty nine dollars includes SaberSim with that on top of the fact.

4:16

That will get you entered each week if you're one of the four ninety nine into the ship at games that we're going to give over $45,000. So head on over there now. NFL only only three forty nine. I get you a chance to win cash prize pool of $45,000 plus today. And that is going to go up as the season goes along. Well, Matt, we got a six game slate to break it all down here.

4:38

I'm going to head on over to our stone, a proprietary stone that we go through each and every time we're on a show together. Six games to break it all down. We do have some weather in Baltimore, so make sure you're paying close attention to that. You alerted me earlier that the wind is no longer blowing out in Chicago. Good hitting weather in Kansas City that we're going to touch on as we get to this.

5:00

We're going to go game by game all six games tonight. We're going to play this Red Sox game in Orioles like it is going to play. That's the first one up on the docket. We've got two confirmed lineups out. We've got my boy Drew Bennett on the hill for the Red Sox taking on Brandon Young in Camden Yards. Where Matt right-handed power goes to die. We got former Oriole great Adley Rutschman batting third in his homecoming debut. Talk to me through this one.

5:25

Red Sox at the Orioles. Yeah, I think, you know, this is a game on the slate. You know, this slate is nice for a six-game slate. I think there's a bunch of different avenues you can take. This game, honestly, of all the games on the slate, though, might be the least appealing for me personally. On the Bolton side, they're facing Brandon Young, who's not particularly good, but I don't think he's like a gas can. Boston's affordable. They're going to get OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Full explanation ↗.

5:56

I like them. I just don't know if I want to play them into ownership on this slate where there's a bunch of offenses I like. So I think Bolton looks good, not amazing. Baltimore, Bennett been good. So I don't think he's some elite DFS pitcher coming off a really good start against the Yankees. Baltimore coming off a bad series in cores. They were awful for me yesterday, so they're on my bad side. I don't really want to play Bennett here. Also don't really want to stack Baltimore.

6:25

I think they've got some pieces you can play. Luis Robert hitting third at $3,500, namely. But for me, if I'm playing one lineup, I get playing some Bolton, but. The first lineup I built had nothing from actually just not true. The first lineup I built had one piece from this game, Luis Robert, $3,500. So I don't think there's any priorities here. Yeah, Luis Robert, if you can't make the Mets, man, you can't you can't make my DFS teams.

6:55

He's pretty bad and bad this season. You're a huge Mickey Gasper guy. All I got does is go yard day in, day out. Surprise. You don't like him. Oh, man. Yeah. Now that you mention it, I remember you giving me so much, and he's been awesome. So maybe Toluse Smith is the next Mickey Gasper. I mean, let's don't crown Mickey Gasper. He was in AAA a week ago. He's been amazing. Let's don't crown him yet. I'm crowning him. I'm crowning him.

7:31

He's been awesome. Crown their ass. You were laughing at his name when you first saw it. So, yeah, I'm proud of him. All right. Matt's all over. Triple-A legend, Mickey Gasper tonight. Fun fact, where did Drew Bennett play college football? College football or baseball? Well, this guy's Jake Bennett. I said Drew Bennett on purpose, but do you even know who Drew Bennett is? I'm going to say Tennessee. Tennessee. No, he played for the Titans, but he's not from there. Anyway, moving on to the next game, UCLA.

8:09

Moving on to the next game, wind blowing in. Kevin Gausman, the corpse of Kevin Gausman, taking on Logan Henderson and his Brewers team. He put up, I think, what, nine last night. Logan Henderson been good this year. I know you're a big fan of his. You got the Brewers going to come in. I think they're going to get some OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Full explanation ↗ tonight. Talk to me about this game. The Brewers, the Miz was just that last night. He was miserable, and he's not pitching tonight.

8:33

Take it on the Cubs. Talk to me. So we no longer have extreme hitting weather in Wrigley, which is interesting for this game. I think Logan Henderson – Looks good here. I mean, the Cubs, it's hard to love anyone right now against the Cubs. Their offense is cooking. We've seen it. They just destroyed Miz, his worst start of the year. But different weather here. And Logan Henderson is a true top of the rotation guy for me. So I'm fine with his price tag.

9:06

You get him at lower owns. Like, man, Scooble is the better play. And I think he obviously projects way better, but... Scooble is a thousand more and going to be like in higher dollar Single-EntryA single-entry contest allows each user exactly one lineup. It can be a cash game or a tournament. In single-entry, one or two contrarian decisions are usually enough. Pair a strong, popular core with a lower-owned piece instead of fading everything the field likes.Full explanation ↗ or low entries type stuff. He's going to be like seven times his own. So I could see going to Henderson in that scenario. Just by an ownership, you know, if you're not playing them both together, there's some cheaper pitching I like. Henderson's in play for me.

9:39

If nothing else, he's a sped up to be ContrarianA contrarian play or lineup is one built around choices most of the field will not make, such as low-owned players, unpopular teams or an unusual salary structure.Pick one or two contrarian spots per lineup and ground each in a real reason. The rest of the roster can look like the field.Full explanation ↗ guy. I like Milwaukee bats, but I feel like Gaussman is – the type of pitcher I respect him enough where I don't really want to pick on him when the field is. I don't think he's good enough to never pick on, but like if Milwaukee's chalk here, weather's turned, I'm good. I'll play other spots. So for me, this game is about Henderson and not much more.

10:08

Henderson, I was going to ask you about the Cubs. It sounds like you don't like the Cubs. Yeah, I mean, they've been dynamite. They scored how many ever runs? Seventeen or whatever it was the first night where they hit nine home runs and got to Miz last night. But like you said, different weather in that. Jackson Shurio been hot. I think he went yard last night. I know you know this, but he had two bombs.

10:25

I think that was last Wednesday or Thursday when you played a lot of them. So, yeah, good stuff there on those first two games. Next game up on the slate, I think you're going to have some interest in these offenses. But you got the Marlins headed into Coors Field, two point oh, to take on Mr. Waka Flock of Flame, who Marlins going to be super popular tonight, in my opinion. They have Cindy Alcantara on the bump, who was terrible. Then he got good for a little bit.

10:49

I would say kind of middle of the road over the last couple starts. But maybe you see something different in this game. Talk to me about this one. Marlins at Kansas City. Yeah, really good hitting weather tonight, too. I don't. I like both these offenses a lot. I'm a little bit confused why Miami against Waka, who is not good, but he's not like that much worse than some of the other pitchers on this slate.

11:15

Why Miami is going to be so much higher owned than some other teams, but I get it. They're cheap. They've been good. And they get such a massive Ballpark FactorsBallpark factors, also called park factors, measure how much a stadium raises or lowers scoring compared with an average park. Altitude, fence distances, foul territory and typical weather shape them, and some parks favor one side of the plate.Check whether a park factor is split by handedness. Some parks boost left-handed power while doing little for righties, and that split can change which hitters you stack.Full explanation ↗. Like they're not priced for this park. So yeah, Miami looks really good. I feel like if you're not playing Miami, it's mostly an OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Full explanation ↗ thing just because of how cheap they are. So I think playing some Miami makes some sense. You don't have to go overboard with it. You don't have to five-man stack them.

11:44

You don't have to play them in every lineup, but I'm going to get some Miami exposure here. And then I like KC also. I played them last night against Uri. Monster first inning, and then they kind of died, which stunk, but they stole some bases, which they can do again tonight. And just like you get that big hitters upgrade for Miami, you get a big downgrade for Sands. So I like KC as kind of a ContrarianA contrarian play or lineup is one built around choices most of the field will not make, such as low-owned players, unpopular teams or an unusual salary structure.Pick one or two contrarian spots per lineup and ground each in a real reason. The rest of the roster can look like the field.Full explanation ↗ stack off of Miami.

12:09

They're way more expensive, but that will just mean they're lower owned. If they're the team that scores ten tonight, it doesn't matter what their price tags are. So this game is all about offense. Go ahead. Sorry, I didn't mean to cut you off, but how do you view Sands? How's Sands been doing? I'm not playing Sands here. I just don't think this is the spot. You know, again, like he's been, as you kind of mentioned, inconsistent when he's good, he's good.

12:40

And I'm a Sands guy at heart, but not in this spot, you know, major ballpark downgrade priced fairly at best. Pitching slate is good. There's a couple guys up top I think are significantly better plays than Henderson and Scooble, and then a couple guys cheaper than him that I project better than him.

13:01

So I guess, I mean, if you're going to tell me I had to take out Scooble, Henderson, and then Kane, Anderson, and Perkins, and I'd have to choose between all the other guys, can make a case for sandy there but that's about it I think he's like you know one fifty type settings only for me yeah all right good stuff there appreciate everybody tuning in all one hundred of you hey do us a favor hit that like hit that subscribe button it helps us out a ton you're getting all the tips from fantasy tips Matt ninety $5,000 over the last eight days in his in his bank account for.

13:39

Well, Matt, you can't you can't get at the top. I don't think you've won one yet, have you? But you've been close off a lot. You're due. We know it's coming up. He's been balling. So hit that like hit that subscribe button. Help us out a ton over here. Next game up on the site. I think this is going to get some interesting stuff. Cal Quantrill has turned into Cal Young, changed his name over the last month.

13:58

It feels like taking on Shane McClanahan and this Rays team. Rays, I don't care where they're going, but they get a Ballpark FactorsBallpark factors, also called park factors, measure how much a stadium raises or lowers scoring compared with an average park. Altitude, fence distances, foul territory and typical weather shape them, and some parks favor one side of the plate.Check whether a park factor is split by handedness. Some parks boost left-handed power while doing little for righties, and that split can change which hitters you stack.Full explanation ↗ when they get out of the trop. Now they head into another stadium, which I think is a bad hitter stadium as well. But talk to me about this game, Rays at the Rangers. Yeah, so Quantrill been good recently. He went from a guy that I always picked on to – Do we consider playing some Cal Quantrill here?

14:32

That said, and while I think he's in play here at $7,300. Give me a low on race tech against him at heart. I still don't think Cal Quantrill is good. His underlying stuff isn't nearly as good as his actual numbers. And yeah, he's in a good stretch right now. And he's no longer someone that I need to pick on. But the Rays are really good. They don't play in a hitter's park to begin with.

14:57

And I just think they're too low on for this slate in particular. So I like picking on, you know, using some raise against Quantrill, but that said, I get it, man. Like you want to use Quantrill here or just not play the raise? Makes sense. A couple of questions real quick before you get on the other side of it. Junior Caminero at $6,700. Like, is that too much for Junior or are we still five man stack in these Rays?

15:23

One off and I'm like, who were some of your favorites? For the Rays? Yeah. Caminero. Quantro's always had some reverse splits in his game. So I like Caminero. I like Yandy. And then, you know, Chandler Simpson, if he gets on base, he's running. So. You know, I like I like the race stack also just, you know, as a long stack on the slate.

15:46

You know, there's not really that much about them that stands out, but I think you're going to get a really good OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Full explanation ↗ discount on them. And we know their upside is real. I think when people spend up, they're not spending up on the race. Yeah, $6,700. That's like that's that's like out of control, in my opinion, is it not? I mean, what do you mean out of control? It's high, for sure.

16:14

I mean, to me, that's like an Ohtani and Coors type of number. He was seven grand last week. I mean, he's been that consistently. Let's see, his average tag this season is... I can't even see right now. Yeah, he's expensive, though. You're right. Until he gets twenty-eight with two bombs, then he's not expensive anymore. Right, exactly. So he's definitely got the upside to pay it off. Yeah. Okay. And then what about the other side? I cut you off. Sorry about that.

16:49

The other side, I'm pretty indifferent to I don't really want to play McClanahan here, but I also don't want to stack Texas. So I'm hoping it's kind of just a mess spot. I mean, one fifty settings. I think both sides are in play. But for me, I'm not really excited about either. Okay. No Rangers. My boy, Jock Peterson, not in there versus a lefty. Ezekiel Dern, batting leadoff. Nemo. What are they throwing? What? Seven righties at the South Pole.

17:19

Might not be a bad ContrarianA contrarian play or lineup is one built around choices most of the field will not make, such as low-owned players, unpopular teams or an unusual salary structure.Pick one or two contrarian spots per lineup and ground each in a real reason. The rest of the roster can look like the field.Full explanation ↗ stack if you wanted to go that route. No, not bad. Say what? It's not bad, but I mean, it took... Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe McClanahan's the guy you want to pick on over Quantrill right now. Like... I don't think that's good. That's why I changed his name to Cal Young, right? He's just been falling out of control of it. I'll say this. I don't think that Texas looks all that different from Tampa. I like Tampa's upside more, though.

17:48

Yeah. Okay. Next game on the slide. I know we're going to have some interest in this one from one side of the ball anyway, or one side of the. Both teams, one side. Anyway, Athletics, taking on the Mariners. Athletics got you there yesterday. My boy, Henry Bolte. Your boy, Alika Williams. Whatever that catcher's name was that I don't see down there, but taking on the Mariners. Safeco Field, or whatever they call it these days. Kate Anderson.

18:15

Lefty on the hill, Captain Jack, Jack Perkins on the bump for the Athletics. Talk to me about this game. Athletics slated to score three runs, it looks like, but Athletics at the Mariners. Yeah, I'm surprised Kate Anderson isn't striking more guys out, but he's still been pretty good, and it's a great spot for him. I mean, the Athletics got there from yesterday. But today you get them in Seattle. So massive, about as massive of a home park, you know, shift you can get.

18:50

And Kate Anderson, you know, it's basically a minor league lineup and Kate Anderson was nails in the minor. So there's a lot to like about him at $7,200. He's just too cheap for his projection, basically all over the industry tonight. And there's a lot to like. He'll be owned. So. You know, take with that info what you will. It's MLB DFS. I do think that there's a role for the A's on this slate.

19:17

I mean, not even considering how much I love them in general. Kate Anderson has been good, but he hasn't been amazing. He's not striking guys out. The A's just got to another lefty yesterday that was pretty popular. It's a small slate. No Coors, no Sacramento, no Great American. I don't know. If you can get by, like, the Kansas City-Miami game, which it's Kansas City and Miami, I wouldn't be shocked if the A's get there tonight.

19:52

I'm more on the Anderson side, but I'm thinking big picture on the slate, low OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Full explanation ↗, et cetera. So just have to get that in there. Yeah, no, I like that, and let's talk a little bit about that. I'm going to play devil's advocate with you as well. It's like I ran the dry run over at our partner, SaberSim.com, and you're getting, you know, you're getting, what is it, sixty-five percent Cade Anderson at $7,200. I liked what you said.

20:22

This is their third straight game facing a lefty, facing McKenzie Gore. Then they faced Corey – I think it's Corey Bradford yesterday. Now they get Kate Anderson. I would say the only thing that you're missing is that park, right? You're going into the Mariners Stadium, Mariners Park, whatever it's called. You know, downgrade from Texas. But third straight lefty, Kate Anderson. I think you taught me this, but, like, I would consider Kate not a great pitcher.

And any time we get a ChalkChalk is the most popular, highly owned play on a slate. The term comes from sports betting, where the favorite is called the chalk.Don't label chalk good or bad. Ask whether each popular play deserves its ownership, then decide which chalk you'll eat and which you'll fade.Full explanation ↗, not great pitcher, I'm fine to stack against him in a Three-MaxA three-max contest lets each user enter up to three lineups. It is a small step up from single-entry.Give each of your three lineups a clear role. Make sure they differ in at least one major decision, like the main stack or the most expensive player.Full explanation ↗. So, yes and yes, that is something I say. I'm sorry. Okay. No, no, I'm good. I'm good. So, yes, that is something I say, and that is something that is pertinent tonight. The only difference I'll say is – Kate Anderson like the top pitching prospect in baseball. And like, okay, he's good. You know what I mean?

21:26

Whether he's that good now remains to be seen, but like, he's not just some scrub that's too cheap. That's getting love. He's getting love because he's too cheap, but like, He's also got talent here to have like a really good game in my opinion. So that's why it's like, I don't like them as much as I would be if they were just facing some middle of the road pitcher who was $7,200 now. Like, yeah, like whoever.

21:52

There's still a lot of unknown with Kate Anderson, though. So that's why it's worth, you know, at least thinking about the A's. Yeah, I'm playing some A's tonight, and there's no reason I like the A's. You look at their stone. There's no reason to play the A's. There was no reason to play the A's yesterday, like I said to you, and they came through. So I'm going to run it back. Hopefully that catcher's in there. What was that catcher's name? Oh, Serven, whatever his name is.

22:15

Dan Serven, whoever that is. I'm going to give you some Alika. Jeff McNeil was hot in the chat. Jonah him, the law dog, Giloff and Bolte. Yeah. I mean, obviously you can't play all those. So I'm going to give me some of that. What about let's, let's talk enough about the A's and Kate Anderson. Let's talk Mariners and the, and Jack, Captain Jack. Yeah. I mean, I feel like part of the reason I like him more than, well, not even, I like him more than Kate Anderson here.

22:43

He's, almost $2,000 cheaper. He gets that same ballpark. Well, he gets the Ballpark FactorsBallpark factors, also called park factors, measure how much a stadium raises or lowers scoring compared with an average park. Altitude, fence distances, foul territory and typical weather shape them, and some parks favor one side of the plate.Check whether a park factor is split by handedness. Some parks boost left-handed power while doing little for righties, and that split can change which hitters you stack.Full explanation ↗ going from Sacramento to now Seattle. Like, I think that he's a lot riskier than Kate Anderson here because he hasn't been good this year at all, but man, like, Still a believer in his stuff. Kind of. He's got a six forty two ERA, which is asked, but he's got a four point. Oh, expected ERA like big difference there. He's striking out over twenty five percent of hitters.

23:21

He goes from Sacramento to Seattle. Seattle's not good. I know they're coming off a good series in Bolton, but now you get them back home in this ballpark. The bottom of this lineup is disgusting right now. Perkins is $5,500 twelve hundred less than Caminero. So, yeah, I like Perkins here. He's just super cheap. There's expensive bats. I like. Am I going to be shocked if he gets blown up like my boy Lauer? No, but. I like him at that price point.

23:53

I mean, $5,500. He only projects, you know, for two less points than Kate Anderson. But at a fraction of the ownership, like obviously projection is just that. But, you know, how big of a how big of a gap is two points projection to you? Not not a lot, and I think. You can, yeah, I think you could project them pretty similarly. Yeah. You can definitely play both pitchers also. Yeah. That's what I was going to bring up.

24:25

Yeah, we talked a little bit about this pre-show. So to say that again, I was talking over you. My apologies. You can definitely play both pitchers in this game together, apart, however you want to play it. They're both super cheap. And I like the idea of playing them together. Play them together, put Junior Caminero at third base, then you're off to the races, and thank Matt later for pointing that out. All right, last game on the slate.

24:52

It's going to come with a heavy dose of pitching because we have a really good pitcher on the hill and then a, I don't know, up-and-comer had a good game last game. I know you played a ton of them last game, but Quinn Matthews makes his Hollywood debut going in to Chavez Ravine to take on the Dodgers. Tarek Scuba was dynamite in his last start. He's been dynamite all season. He's been dynamite for the last several years.

25:16

But you got some guy for the Cardinals named Thomas Seguis, who's turned into a modern-day Ozzie Smith, just hitting the ball all over the place, doing everything at the shortstop position. Talk to me about this game. You got the Cardinals wrapping up in the Dodgers. They went to extras last night. Cardinals have won back-to-back in L.A. Shohei Otani's been garbage this series. Hey, you got Scooble. You got Matthews. Talk to me. Yeah, I'm kind of torn here all over. I don't want to stack St.

25:48

Louis. I'm not stacking St. Louis. I know they beat up Lauer. And they actually got to Yamamoto yesterday, too. But I'm not in the business of stacking against Scooble on six-game slates like this. Now, I don't think you have to play him because he's expensive. And I already talked about Logan Henderson. And I like Perkins and Kate Anderson a lot. So... Skubal's the best pitcher on the slate, and I project him to be the highest scorer.

26:17

And if there's a cheap stack I like, I'll play him. Like, I'm not going to play. I'm not going to leave salary. The only guy I'd leave salary for is Logan Henderson. I even wouldn't do that for him. Like, baseball is not the sport where you need to do that, in my opinion. So I would play Skubal if I had the salary. I don't think you have to prioritize that, though. I'm out on St. Louis. Quinn Matthews. I'm a believer in his stuff.

26:44

And I did play a lot of him last time and he was really good. But kind of like the A's yesterday versus the A's today. Like, I don't know, man. Now you get him against the Dodgers. Much different spot than the Pirates who are awful against lefties. I like the Dodgers stack. I don't know if I like them as much as the field because I respect Matthews, but the Cardinals have a bad bullpen.

27:09

And I still don't know if Matthews is good. I just liked him in that spot last time, you know? So it's all God for me here. Yeah, exactly. How much is a tiny? It's sixty-five. Yeah, Junior Caminero is sixty-seven. That's wild to me. No Cardinals. Scooble. Where do you have the Dodgers in relation to stacks versus Miami and Kansas City? Man, I gotta say above those teams. I gotta say number one. Oh, really? Yeah, because...

27:52

It's the Dodgers against Miami or Kansas City, right? Like, I'd feel dumb not putting them number one, even though I recognize the spots that especially Miami's in. But Sands, you know, even though I like Kansas City as a ContrarianA contrarian play or lineup is one built around choices most of the field will not make, such as low-owned players, unpopular teams or an unusual salary structure.Pick one or two contrarian spots per lineup and ground each in a real reason. The rest of the roster can look like the field.Full explanation ↗-ish stack, like, I think they're going to be contrarian-ish because Sandy's good. So, I think the Dodgers are in just as good a spot the – weather is more optimal for hitting in Kansas City. And I like both those teams too. So tough. Yeah.

28:32

All right. Just talking a little bit about, you know, we got some time left talking a little bit and you're normally not a one fifty player, but got a question for you. If playing one fifty and you have twelve offenses to choose from, are you the type of guy that's going to get get a piece of all twelve offenses or are you going to cut it off somewhere?

28:51

I mean, if I'm playing one, I'll probably have a piece in there of all the offenses, you know, does that mean I'll full stack all of them? No, but I'm not really the type that's going to just X out a team from the field usually, but it's slate dependent, you know? Yeah. Awesome stuff there. All right, that'll do it for us. That's all six games. We're going to get out of here with a home run call here in a second. But, hey, do us a favor real quick.

29:41

We got a college football show going on right now. That's if you're allowed to play that in your home state. All right, Matt, let's go. We'll keep it. We'll keep it short. Let's go. Top two pitchers. Let's go. Let's go. Well, you've already given your top two stack. So let's give maybe a contrarian stack. You know, let's say eight through twelve that you think could possibly be on the winner and give me a home run call of the day. That stack is easy for me.

30:09

Give me the Rays as the LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Full explanation ↗ stack that's going to do it tonight. I'm not buying what Crunch will sell, and he's a fraud. I saw for too long on Cleveland. He's coming back down to earth here. So give me the Rays. Home run call. He was very hurtful for me on Sunday, but I'm ultimately a big fan of this guy, and he's coming off a nice couple games. Tommy Edmond going yard tonight. Ooh, Tommy Edmond. Yeah, he was hurtful for you.

30:44

I'm going to say I'm playing four teams tonight. I'm going to have one A stack. A stack is my stack. I said it a little bit ago. Third straight night seeing a lefty. Hopefully they see the ball spinning off that way. Maybe that's just me thinking that happens. But third straight lefty, downgrade in ballpark. You're going to basically get them unowned. So if they go off, Matt, then you're off to the races way ahead of The FieldThe field is everyone else entered in a contest, the group of lineups you are competing against. Before you build, picture the typical lineup in your contest. Then decide on purpose where you'll match it and where you'll step away from it.Full explanation ↗. So I'm going to give me some A's.

31:13

That'll do it for us. Matt and I will be back tomorrow at our regular scheduled time, four p.m. Need your home run call. Oh, home run call. I'm going to go. I'm going to go Vinny P. Okay. I love that call. Vinny Pascantino. I like him tonight. To take Sands Deep. So, yeah, Vinny P is my call, and I like the A's as a ContrarianA contrarian play or lineup is one built around choices most of the field will not make, such as low-owned players, unpopular teams or an unusual salary structure.Pick one or two contrarian spots per lineup and ground each in a real reason. The rest of the roster can look like the field.Full explanation ↗ five-man stack. Matt is on the Rays as his contrarian five-man stack. Good luck tonight in those contests.
