Shows / NASCAR/ Saturday, October 10, 2026
From the archive. This breakdown is for the Saturday, October 10 NASCAR slate. Salaries, weather and picks were for that day.
Eric Schneck breaks down Charlotte's Bank of America 400 with practice and qualifying washed out, recommending at least two potential dominators per lineup across 267 laps and 186.9 available dominator points. Kyle Larson starts on the pole and could control the race, while Chase Briscoe offers a tournament pivot after dominating Las Vegas. Use the last two races and track-type rankings for this year's tire combination to build the pool.
Corey Heim ($8,000) is the recommended first click, even before a dominator, with ownership potentially exceeding 70% and few appealing place-differential alternatives. Christopher Bell is another leading target, with Larson/Bell/Heim and Larson/Hamlin/Heim expected to be popular starts. Shane van Gisbergen offers a way to differentiate those builds if he maintains his position near tenth. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. supplies another deep-starting option, while several modestly owned midpack drivers remain in consideration.
| Play | Call | The Take | At |
|---|---|---|---|
| DOMINATOR | Starts on the pole with the No. 5 team in strong form and could control the race despite an unremarkable Charlotte track ranking. | 9:18 | |
| DOMINATOR | Dominated Las Vegas and offers a tournament pivot from Larson in popular two-dominator builds. | 9:56 | |
| DOMINATOR | Starts third and joins the dominator options because of his strength on this style of racetrack. | 10:27 | |
| DOMINATOR | Starts fourth and belongs in the dominator pool despite being the least favored option in that group. | 10:27 | |
| Worth considering because place-differential options are scarce, although a fifth-place finish is not expected and he is not a dominator target. | 11:02 | ||
| Removed from the main dominator pool because he has not shown enough this year, but remains a fringe option at $9,000 with strong Charlotte history. | 11:34 | ||
| Draws little interest despite recent playoff success because other drivers are stronger mile-and-a-half options and this race is 400 miles rather than 600. | 12:04 | ||
| Willing to take a shot because of his mile-and-a-half ability. | 12:04 | ||
| Willing to take a shot at $8,700. | 12:04 | ||
| Starting tenth, he could differentiate popular builds at roughly 3–4% ownership if he stays near that position throughout the race. | 12:50 |
All systems go. Clear for lift off. Good evening good morning and or good afternoon and welcome to this weekend's NASCAR quick hit here for Ship It Nation I am Eric also known as the game on Discord and tonight when I'm recording this we're going to be talking about the bank of america four hundred taking place at Charlotte motor speedway but Before we go ahead and break down Sunday SlateIn NASCAR DFS, a slate usually covers one race rather than several team matchups. You select from the drivers listed in that contest's eligible pool, not every driver racing across the weekend. Before building, open the contest details and check the included events, scoring period and lock rules. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Full explanation ↗, let me of course mention us over at chip at nation.com.
Everything you need to have success with DFS for less folks. NFL season is here. San Francisco for a diners hottest, best team in the NFL. Rain in fact go ahead and put on your favorite rain song uh maybe it's have you ever seen the rain by credence clearwater revival revisited whatever um Saturday was a complete washout Sunday looks to be also wet in the morning however I do believe the weather should clear out so the entire cup race is able to be held on Sunday The schedule for Sunday for NASCAR is as follows.
I believe it is the Bank of America four hundred at three o'clock in the afternoon and then the postponed NASCAR O'Reilly race at eight o'clock Sunday night. So. Two races tomorrow both in the queen city hopefully rain plays nicely now since rain came into play again an unprecedented fourth time in the past six races practice and qualifying has been cancelled due to weather so Luckily for us, the past two weeks have been mile and a half goodness. Okay.
Uh, the past two weeks I have said the following sentence, we have two hundred and sixty seven laps on deck, which equal out to one hundred and eighty six point nine. Potential dominator points. I'm recommending at least two potential dominator points, potential DominatorsDominators are NASCAR drivers who earn a large share of fantasy points from leading laps or recording fastest laps, meaning the quickest time among drivers on a particular lap. Before a race, the term describes candidates for that role.Compare practice averages over several consecutive laps and performance at similar tracks. Then identify how each candidate could reach the lead instead of assuming the pole sitter will control the race.Full explanation ↗ per lineup. And since the starting lineup was set via the rule book, we don't have very many surprises. We don't have very many surprises at all. Let me go ahead and share the NASCAR stoned version of the stone.
And as you can see here, like I said, not very many surprises we do have a gift given to us by the DFS gods which has corey heim starting at other
Than that everything is kind of what you would expect and what I mean by that is well I guess before we break down the starting lineup let me give you my thoughts on how to build for this slate like I mentioned before I'm recommending at least two potential dominators per lineup um and since we have no practice data to really look at I highly highly highly recommend using either a the results of
Literally the last two weeks you could take a look at kansas too you can take a look at Las Vegas too and probably put together a fairly decent player pool just off of that correct then of course we have our power rankings uh recent form would be uh past ten races uh track rank is the amount of races that are held at this venue since twenty twenty three and in this instance there's only four which is a very small sample size okay now there's only four because this is the first time since $2,000 and seventeen the NASCAR cup series is bringing their fall Charlotte race to the oval as it's been at the roval since twenty seventeen.
So thank you for coming back to the mile and a half oval. It should be great. I just wish we had some some good practice data to look at it. Uh however like I said recent form is their uh past ten races no matter track type track rank is what their ranking is for only this track for since twenty twenty three on which is those four coca-cola six hundred And then track type rank sometimes changes from week to week.
This week and the past few weeks have been their mile and a half races on this tire combination in twenty twenty six. So if you are looking for the best data on this exact tire combination.
This year I highly recommend using the track type rank okay so use your power rankings use the results from the past two weeks and you should be able to build a very nice player pool in my opinion if you have any questions hey ask me on Discord I am the game on Discord uh let's go ahead and break down the starting lineup and again There's not very many surprises. Tyler Larson Starting PositionStarting position is a driver's assigned spot in the NASCAR starting order. In DFS, the official starting position used for scoring determines place differential, the number of positions gained or lost between the start and finish. Before lock, check both the starting position listed for scoring and any penalties sending a driver to the rear. They may describe different spots.Full explanation ↗.
He has been the hottest driver on the circuit since the chase has begun mile and a half. Yeah, I love it. Uh, his track rank is B minus. That doesn't look the best, but these past couple of Coke six hundreds, he's been back and forth between, uh, like Charlotte and Indy and you know, all kinds of stuff. Right. So, uh, The track rank for Larson doesn't scare me at all. The Hendrick Five team has it together right now, starting on the pole.
Could stink up the show. Could stink up the show. Chase Briscoe, starting second, dominated last week at Las Vegas, held off a hard-charging Tyler Larson at the closing laps. Larson ended up getting an heretic who then spun into pit road through the grass and crossed the finish line third. Look, Briscoe, also a dog on these mile and a half racetracks, just crushed it last week, starting outside pole. Yeah, if he can absolutely get the jump on Larson in the beginning.
I wrote on the website that I think everybody's most popular starts will be Larson, Bell, Heim, or Larson, Hamlin, Heim. But... If you take any of those like top two dominators and just pivot to somebody else, like instead of going Larson Hamlin, I'm go Briscoe Hamlin Heim or Briscoe Bell Heim. Like that might be enough in a GPP (Guaranteed Prize Pool)A GPP is a tournament whose prize pool is guaranteed to pay out in full even if the contest does not fill. Payouts are steep: a small group at the top wins most of the money. Before you enter a tournament lineup, ask how it finishes first, not just how it cashes. If you cannot name that scenario, rebuild it.Full explanation ↗ to get you different to take down a tournament. Right.
So yeah, A lot of attention will be taken to Tyler Larson and for good reason, but don't forget these Toyotas are fast too. Tyler Reddick, fantastic at this style of racetrack as well. He's starting third. Ryan Blaney is starting fourth. He's probably my least favorite dominator option, but we can't ignore him. He should absolutely be included in that pool. Austin Sindrick, they're returning to Penske Motorsports in twenty twenty seven. Austin Sindrick is starting fifth. I think he will have a good day.
I don't think he will finish fifth. However, he proved me wrong last week. Should he be considered a dominator? No. Should he be in your player pool? I'm going to say yes because... Our Place DifferentialPlace differential is a driver’s scored starting position minus their finishing position. You gain fantasy points when the driver finishes ahead of that starting spot and lose points when they finish behind it.Check why a driver starts deep. An unusually poor qualifying result can create an opportunity, while weak race pace or an unresolved mechanical problem can undermine it.Full explanation ↗ plays are kind of lacking this week besides the one super obvious one. So I, I, you should consider in my opinion, Cendric, uh, William Byron has great history here at, um, at Charlotte, just not great history this year, anything.
So, um, I flirted with the idea of having him in the dominator pool in fact he was in the dominator pool at one point and I'm like he hasn't done it so far this year so I took him out but will he be in my opinion fridge dom pick and $9,000 like it's a good price for a hendrick car uh joey logano I don't really have too much interest, to be honest.
He's been crushing it as well in these playoffs, but there's so many mile-and-a-half gurus, and it's four hundred miles and not six hundred miles, so probably not for Logano for me this week. Bubba Wallace, sure, I'll take a shot. Mile-and-a-half, Bubba, for sure. Chase Elliott. Sure. A seven hundred. Yeah, I'll take a shot. Shane Van Gisbergen. This is going to surprise you. Yeah, I'll take a shot. He a couple of times this year, he has been given these like good oval.
Starting positions and. He like keeps up there all day and like everybody clicks off of him, like almost right away in this type of situation.
Bought on a slate like this when look at those power rankings after christopher bell it gets pretty dark it gets me it gets pretty negative right so in these type of situations you kind of have to look for for different things that pop out and svg intent if he can keep in and around there all day at like a three four percent OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Full explanation ↗ like that could set you apart right like like stick with larson bell heim Throw in a tenth place starting SVG and go from there.
That might get you different enough. So SVG should absolutely be considered for your player pool. Carson Hosovar. Yup. He was fast. Kids fast all time. Still getting his head around everything. I kind of think the like he has like a documentary or something out right now. I don't know. I kind of feel like.
Once they really started putting the marketing machine behind him and having him go to like the Met Gala and this, that, and the other, I kind of feel like his speed maybe decreased a tad, but still. Kids fast. $8,400. Don't love it, but I don't think anybody's going to dump them at Charlotte just because how fast the track is. So, and again, you got to get different. You got to look for anything to get yourself different.
And I wouldn't be afraid of Jose Martin's situation. Denny Hamlin starting in twelfth. Yup. Like I said, I feel like the most popular starts are going to be either Larson Bell Heim or Larson Hamlin Heim. Yeah, Danny's been doing it all season. There's no reason to think he can't get it together Sunday at Charlotte. Christopher Buescher in thirteenth. I don't know. Probably a no for me, but he is B.
And the mile and a half this season on this track type so probably worth being in the pool but I'm not going to be too upset if I don't get any of him uh ty gibbs yeah I'll take a shot it's ty gibbs toyota baby sure uh mi amigo won the coke six hundred earlier this year uh I would be stunned I was stunned when he won the coke six hundred I will be stunned if he wins the bank of america four hundred mi amigo He'll be in the pool, but I would probably assume I'm going to get none of him and I won't be too upset.
Bowman the showman. No, sorry. I'm still off that train. Christopher Bell. Yes. Love me some Christopher Bell this weekend. I picked Christopher Bell to be the thumbnail driver, I believe, on like Thursday of this week. So, yeah, give me some C-Bell. The Dinger. Hey, look at that track rank for Dinger.
Like I know it's a small sample size I know it's a small sample size I get it but you need those little differentiators to uh get yourself different enough in a GPP and that b minus for dinger for his track rank just might be enough for me to clothe him in the pool my goodness I there's so folks just Saturday night there's racing to my left two screens there's racing over here and there was just a major sprint car accident right now oh my god there's cars everywhere goodness gracious anyway um back to it the dinger
Should be considered for a player pool spot for sure mike mac that c plus has me uh it has me including him into the GPP pool I won't be too upset if I don't get any of him austin dylan yeah I'll take a shot there's a there's some good juju uh behind ad three this weekend I know I don't you know you can't make decisions based off like feels But Austin Dillon helped teach young Brixton Bush how to do a proper burnout for the Tyler Busch Remembrance event that was held Friday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Um and young brexton did a hell of a job he really really did a hell of a job um I think I think that whole situation for rcr really took a lot out of rcr obviously right um Maybe maybe maybe last or maybe this Friday's celebration of of KFB plus the positive juju around Austin Dillon for him teaching Braxton this kind of thing. Maybe that's enough to get RCR, you know, a positive day on Sunday. Should you go over the moon?
No. Should you consider him? Yeah. And you should consider him for the same reason why I've been saying you should consider everybody else. We don't have very many shining place differential options. So one of these like four percent, five percent, eight percent middle of the road plays will be the difference and we'll take it down a tournament for somebody for sure. That's going to happen this weekend just because of like the situation we're in.
So uh I think he should be considered I saw old pop pop give brexton a big hug after burning it down so uh maybe the upswing for rcr here we'll see we'll see maybe we'll see um riley herbst Probably not, but he isn't a twenty three XI Toyota. And if we love Corey Heim and we're looking for reasons to get different, there is the same equipment. Now he is a lame duck. So there is that. But still.
Yodas are fast uh we have a couple of forts here brad k noah gregson ryan priest uh brad k will probably get some love uh he'll be in my pool as well that doesn't mean I love it uh he's leaving rfk uh there's only a couple races left in the season um what's what's what's is he like yeah he's
Obviously motivated he's looking for another ride right he probably already has one but he's looking for another ride but it ain't like we've seen brad k like light the wick on fire this season because we haven't so yeah probably no for me uh noah gregson I was on him last week in Vegas not on him this week sorry noah uh and ryan priest yeah I'll take a chance on priest um He's going to be one of the two faces of RFK.
Like, you know, and he's had some decent runs. He made the playoffs. He beat SVG for that final playoff seat. So, and won that Daytona race in a very dramatic fashion. So, he surprised us a couple times this season. So, Ryan Preece, welcome to the club. Eric Jones. Love me that Jones boy. This isn't Darlington, but still I'll take a shot on Eric Jones. Austin Hill. I know I just waxed poetic about RCR and Austin Dillon.
I'm not going to take that shot on the on the red Lucas Oil. Thirty three of Austin Hill. I just don't think he's ready for this step. I think he had his niche. In the O'Reilly series with those O'Reilly cars, and this is a whole different beast, plus the situation he's in. So that's a no from me, dog. Josh Berry, he's going to get a ton of love because of the hot streak he's been on.
He did win that mile and a half at Vegas last year. Yeah, I don't know. I just... When I when I put together the projections and ownership, I saw his projected ownership and I was like, oh. Oh, and it makes sense because of his odds and the hot streak he's been on and et cetera, et cetera, but. I don't know. I just can't see myself like going hard for Josh Berry tomorrow at Charlotte. That's, that's, that's maybe a lukewarm opinion. I just, I don't know.
There's just something about it. I don't love, uh, right. And Ross Chastain's in that same effect. Look, Ross Chastain's been slow as hell all season long. Um, right. So, uh, I shouldn't say he's been slow as hell all season long. He's not been, um, not as low as hell all season long, but those cars have been pretty, those cars, I mean, they track house. I've pretty much been tractors, right?
Like look at Conor Zilich, that kid's more talented than where he's been finishing. Right. So like Ross is going to get some love. I have Ross ranked on my PD plays.
Come on ross come on right come on um john hunter nemo check no no he uh had a terrible week last week and then I saw him uh he made a social media post about how this was like the worst car he's ever or how the team struggled so bad all day something and then Somebody commented some shade on the team, and he liked that comment. Obviously, he's checked out.
I don't think the club, the Legacy Motor Club, is going out of their way to get him the greatest of great equipment and subs right now, so... Sorry, John Hunter. That's a no for me, dog. Cole Custer. That's also a no for me, dog. Todd Gilliland and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Yeah, for sure. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. C plus and the Coke six hundred kind of surprised me. So that in and of itself, you're looking for deep PD plays other than Corey Heim.
Hey, Ricky, welcome to the club. Ty Dillon. He surprised us a couple of times this year. I talked about how I liked Dinger.
Take a shot on time uh could he go a lap down super early yeah could he stay on that lead lap for sure there's probably going to be a competition caution there's been no track activity today and it rained forever right so it's going to be a green racetrack uh no rubber lay down there's going to be a competition caution uh I assume he'll be able to stay on the lead lap up until that point and then it's going to cycle all over again so Yeah, Ty Dillon for sure.
Sam goes for Zane Smith. I'll take a shot on Zane Smith. Cody Ware, no. Even though we don't have great PD plays, you're still not one of them. Connor Zilich, I'll give it a consideration. Corey Heim. Corey Heim.
It would not surprise me to see him over seventy percent ownership tomorrow what what did uh what did the man the the the good man uh dj used to say catching steam then he used to hit the steam button steam thinking about your man um he's getting pretty crazy projected ownership already and I think when people sit and build and they, and they look down the list or they're like, Oh, okay. Like, I think he should probably be your first click even over a dominator.
Right? Like I never talk about hitting the quote unquote lock button. I still probably won't because you know, it is NASCAR. Um, he's he's he's why he's only a he's only $8,000 because of being part-time right man he's a two-time winner in a part-time season I just, he's going to get a ton of ownership, and for good reason. And then our last two is Gray Gaulding, Gary Gaulding, Gray Gaulding, and BJ McLeod. Both no-for-me dog candidates. So that's it. That's your starting lineup breakdown.
Next week, the NASCAR Cup Series is heading to Phoenix. And if practice and qualifying rains out in the desert I'm going to believe that NASCAR has some harp system and they are controlling the weather because that would be wild so hopefully we have some good old practice data to dissect next week and not just looking in the past and looking at our power rankings for guidance but anyway That's it for me for tonight.
No drivers have been announced as going to the rear. I would be stunned if any drivers were announced to going to the rear because all they did was go through tech today. That's it. So good luck in all of your slates on Sunday. Any questions, please feel free to ask me on Discord. And as always, let's ship it.
