Shows / MLB/ Wednesday, September 9, 2026
From the archive. This breakdown is for the Wednesday, September 9 MLB slate. Salaries, weather and picks were for that day.
Latest MLB show →Austin Hanson and Scott Gyiraszin break down Wednesday’s ten-game slate, with Yoshinobu Yamamoto ($11,000) the clear SP1 thanks to Cincinnati’s strikeouts and his recent workload. Logan Henderson gets the nod over Cristopher Sanchez on price, while Jake Bennett offers a cheaper partner. Hunter Brown draws split opinions, and Foster Griffin is a tournament option despite shaky recent strikeout totals. Paying for two quality arms is preferred to chasing cheap pitching.
The Yankees stack and Dodgers stack lead the offense, with Boston close behind. Leaving Aaron Judge out of Yankees builds opens salary for contrarian power elsewhere. Colorado offers leverage against popular Will Warren, while White Sox lefties and Kansas City provide alternatives. Arizona supplies cheap fillers, though pinch-hit risk matters. Pete Crow-Armstrong and Andrew Benintendi receive home-run calls; Crow-Armstrong, Kyle Schwarber and Elly De La Cruz also stand out as individual pivots.
| Play | Call | The Take | At |
|---|---|---|---|
| SP | Clear SP1 on both sites, with a strong workload and abundant strikeout opportunities against Cincinnati. | 5:44 | |
| SP | Preferred over Sanchez because the $1,500 discount outweighs the difference in their ground-ball profiles. | 7:06 | |
| SP | Tournament option against Baltimore's strikeout-heavy lineup, with recent strikeout production the main concern. | 7:58 | |
| SP | Strong $8,300 option against the Angels, although his recent pitch counts temper enthusiasm despite steady strikeouts. | 9:20 | |
| SP | An appealing contrarian spend-up, ranked behind Yamamoto and Henderson primarily because of salary. | 11:06 | |
| SP | Opinions were split: a viable midrange option, but Griffin and Bennett were preferred in the narrower pitching pool. | 11:28 | |
| SP | A preferred $6,700 punt in one ranking, offering lower ownership than Warren, though recent strikeouts drew concern. | 13:12 | |
| FADE | Avoid the popular cheap arm because his struggles against lefties create a real opening for Colorado. | 13:57 | |
| SP | A favored cheap alternative against Cleveland's limited power, although spending up remained preferable. | 14:20 | |
| SP | Playable at $5,800 in Miami when substantial salary savings are necessary. | 16:09 |
Let's go. Clear for lift off.
What is going on shiva nation YouTube station back Wednesday I know it's NFL but we still got baseball going on we got ten games there's still milli tickets out there to be chased there's still other good contests that have uh money up top and uh hey maybe the the field might be a little uh a little sharper right with the fish kind of jumping over to NFL so we uh we probably gotta
Hone it back a little bit here g rising and uh dive in and usually probably a good time to kind of scale back a little bit um but still there's uh still baseball there's still rest of September and then obviously we got the playoffs um coming down the stretch here in October fun uh fun month and a half ahead here um and obviously NFL starts tonight as well so we got that right here on the dock and I'll bring you in man what's going on brother happy Wednesday how's everything Man, I got my days mixed up, man.
It feels like damn Tuesday to me for some reason, just because of the holiday. But yeah, hey, we're excited. We got football to start. Hey, I appreciate all you degenerates that are in here with us. All, I don't know, fifteen or twenty of you, however many there is. All my friends and family, thank you for still being loyal, because I know that's about all that's watching. But no, just fucking around. Either way, hey, it's good to be on, man.
Last Thursday, I told you I was going to be on with Matt. I was just telling Nate it's pre-show. Dude, I literally was going through a fucking tornado here in Michigan. It literally hit like four o'clock, fucking destroyed like parts of Detroit, which is like a twenty mile, fifteen miles away from me maybe. So... It was pretty heavy storm, lost power for a good bit. But, yeah, always fun when that happens. I truly enjoy watching some storms, Nades. I think it's pretty cool sometimes.
You know, not the crazy ones that, you know, you worry. But, you know, when it's got some cool lightning and shit, that's always pretty fun. But, yeah, we got a pretty interesting SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. I think we got some decent pitching options. Man, we got the Yankees back. We got some Aaron Judge back in the game. So, that's exciting for baseball overall. But, yeah, I mean, I watched a little bit of some Dodgers and Reds yesterday, Nades and Manelli.
That dude's something else, man. He rifled the dude out at home, hitting bombs, flipping bats. Like, that dude's fun to watch. But, yeah. We're getting into football time, so appreciate all y'all jumping in here. Let's see what we can come up with. These days, like the early days of football, the pools suck.
The days after like on Monday for baseball and going forward for, you know, once these guys win some cash on their, you know, on their Sunday lineups, baseballs, that's where we get a little bit more donkeys back in our, in our world needs. So do kind of like that, you know, they get a little money in their account. They can't just, they can't help themselves.
So, you know, the Mondays and Tuesdays generally, you know, maybe Friday after some Showdown (Captain and MVP)MLB Showdown draws your lineup from one baseball game. DraftKings' player pool can include hitters and pitchers, so your Captain decision can involve choosing between offensive production and pitching production.Compare complete lineups with different players in the multiplier slot. Leaving salary unused can reduce duplication, but do not sacrifice meaningful scoring potential just to make your lineup unusual.Read the full definition of Showdown, you know, get some of that football money back into some baseball. So, Looking forward to those times coming in. I know we get down to the thin and nitty and gritty here after the long grind of the baseball season, but now with football back, we'll have some new eyes on our baseball game, so kind of excited for that. But yeah, Nades, let's see what we can muster up here.
Let's draw us up some winter. We got to get some extra fun coupons for them football tickets we're going to have to win this weekend. Yeah, I got a bunch. I had a really good night last night. Cashed five tickets for tonight's Milly Mayer and then a couple more hundred dollar Milly Mayer tickets for the weekend. I'm up to eight now in like the last week. I should have started chasing hundred dollar Milly Mayer tickets a lot sooner.
But eight in a week isn't isn't that bad for the investment. So, hey, maybe I turn one of those into something. It's five figures six figures even uh even a million bucks right so that should be nice there but yeah tonight's slate um it's headlined by yamamoto um and then it's probably a mix of Henderson Jake Bennett uh will Warren something like that in terms of what the ProjectionsDFS projections estimate a player's fantasy points for an upcoming slate using expected opportunities, performance and the contest's scoring rules. They describe an expected result, not a guaranteed score.Check the projection's update time and assumed role before using it. If news is already included, adjusting again for that same news can double-count its effect.Read the full definition of Projections shake out.
And then it's Arizona chalk again, second night in a row with some Bolton and then maybe a little Yankees, but Yankees are kind of expensive there. So that's kind of the broad slate overview here, G rising in terms of the dry run. How do you feel in terms of pitchers here?
We'll go $8,000 and above Christopher Sanchez all the way up at the top at $11,500 gets a face Houston where obviously they're loaded with right handed hitters outside of Jordan and maybe if Trammell gets a start, something like that. But nonetheless, primarily right-handed. Sanchez coming off an absolutely gem. Talk to me. Are you getting all the way up him? Yamamoto, five hundred dollars less than him. Does feel like the SP one on the SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. I'm going to probably be shoving in on all the Yamamoto I can have. That's not a ContrarianA contrarian play or lineup is one built around choices most of the field will not make, such as low-owned players, unpopular teams or an unusual salary structure.Pick one or two contrarian spots per lineup and ground each in a real reason. The rest of the roster can look like the field.Read the full definition of Contrarian take by any means. Then you got Henderson, thousand dollars less than Yamamoto, who's had an absolutely incredible season that doesn't get talked about enough. Hunter Brown, you got Jake Bennett down at the bottom at $8,300. I think he looks pretty good. So talk to me in this top tier. I think a lot of arms are very much in play.
And ideally, I probably want two of these guys outside of maybe a Will Warren down low, but he's going to be pretty popular as well down there. So talk to me. How do you see this top tier here? Yeah, I'm agreeing with Yamamoto. I think he's the guy that is my SP one. I mean, he's had four games in a row at $8,000's. I like where his pitch count's been. He's been right around a hundred pitches this last handful of starts too.
So, you know, that's something I always worry about with a Dodgers team.
Seems like they always seem to pretty easy to pull their, uh, starters out but you know just looking at the k's that we got in this Reds lineup you know ellie's at almost twenty eight percent Stevenson twenty nine eugenio thirty three McLean thirty I mean we got four heavy strikeout bats and then we got uh four or five bets that are right around the low twenty percent range so plenty of strikeout capability for yamamoto uh I think the one thing though that uh You know, he's got a mid-fifty percent ground ball lean.
So I do like Yamamoto, especially at his price on both sites. I think he'd be my favorite, especially on FanDuel. So then you look at Sanchez and Henderson. I mean, there is a fifteen hundred dollar price difference on DK. When you just look at them, I really think they're they're pretty similar pitchers to me in a sense. The only thing difference that I will say is. As far as defense pitchers say, I'll say they're pretty similar.
But as far as overall skills, I think Sanchez obviously has a better ground balling. Henderson, more of a fly ball type pitcher. So, I mean, Henderson for me, though, at that fifteen hundred dollar discount, I think that's enough of the differentiator for me there to be happy with with Henderson. So I put him ahead of Sanchez. But in reality, I think they're pretty much for me right there on the same level. But just because of the fifteen hundred dollar discount, I think I would prefer Henderson.
But Henderson and Sanchez for me be on the same level. Hunter Brown actually has been looking pretty good here in recent times. I mean, you got obviously we have the Schwarber and and and Harper of the world that we need to worry about. But Brown's look pretty good as last couple of starts. So I think Brown is definitely in play for me. The only thing I do worry about is his control issues.
I think that's something that, uh, is it's just been hindering this guy for quite some time but uh I definitely have him in my pool as a PivotA pivot in DFS is an alternative player or lineup combination you choose instead of another option. Tournament pivots usually seek comparable scoring upside at lower ownership, meaning fewer competing lineups use them. Before swapping, check what the replacement changes around it: your remaining salary, teammates, opposing players and available later-starting options.Read the full definition of Pivot off of those three that we just discussed Foster Griffin I mean man I really want to like Foster Griffin especially against the Orioles who strike out the most against lefties So I think this is more of a GPP (Guaranteed Prize Pool)A GPP is a tournament whose prize pool is guaranteed to pay out in full even if the contest does not fill. Payouts are steep: a small group at the top wins most of the money. Before you enter a tournament lineup, ask how it finishes first, not just how it cashes. If you cannot name that scenario, rebuild it.Read the full definition of GPP-type play to where, I mean, he hasn't had it his last few starts.
He hasn't looked good at all, especially as far as strikeouts he's been at. Three, four, four, six, three. I mean, his pitch count's been there right around mid-nineties to a hundred. So I do like that. But just banking on the fact that it's the Orioles who do strike out the most, as I mentioned, against lefties, I think that's definitely something that I'm interested in. But I do fear, though, that Griffin – You know, he's just been so worrisome here lately just because he hasn't had the strikeouts.
But, I mean, again, that's more of a GPP-type play. I think Grossman against Milwaukee, I think that's kind of interesting. There are some strikeouts in the Milwaukee lineup. But I will say, like, right off the bat, like, Grossman, Bennett, and Brown I think are all pretty similar to me in the same sense of, you know, I can't argue with anybody, and I think if you ask five different people, you get five different rankings on them.
I think Bennett interesting against the Angeles. The only thing that does worry me about Bennett a little bit has been his pitch count lately. Hasn't really been there, but he's been getting the strikeouts, seven, seven, six, six. I think that is something there that I do like. But the pitch count does concern me a little bit, which drops him down. If he was in the hundred range, I'd have him ahead of Grossman and I'd have him ahead of Brown.
But because of that, I'm going to drop him down into the same bucket. So Griffin, I'm not really, you know, a fan of. I put him a little bit below Grossman and Brown, but I do think I'd still leave him in play just because of the matchup against the Baltimore that he's got. So for me, I mean, Yamamoto would be top. Then I'd probably have Henderson, even though he is more of a fly ball lean than Sanchez.
I have those two pretty close, but that fifteen hundred dollar discount is good enough for me. And then I think Brown is interesting. Bennett's interesting. Gossman. So I think you got a handful of options. I think Yamamoto will be the SP one, but I don't mind a pivot to Henderson or I don't mind even going like a Brown and a Henderson. I think there's some options today.
I don't think you're going to have to, you're going to see too ChalkChalk is the most popular, highly owned play on a slate. The term comes from sports betting, where the favorite is called the chalk.Don't label chalk good or bad. Ask whether each popular play deserves its ownership, then decide which chalk you'll eat and which you'll fade.Read the full definition of Chalk of a pairing today, but definitely interesting. I think there's a few options for us. I think Foster Griffin is the guy. If he'd be more on point here in recent times, With the strikeouts, I think he'd be a guy that I'd really like with that matchup. It's just he hasn't been a recent form, Nate.
So I think that to me is just bumps him back a little bit from them three guys I mentioned. But I think there's six or seven options we can use tonight. But the safest and highest upside option for me is Yamamoto. But, you know, down below, you know, guys like Brown, Grossman. Bennett, I think, should all be in play. And I think anybody, I mean, you could look at the preference, but a lot of options here today, which is good.
We haven't seen that that much here so far, you know, in recent times. Yeah, I do like it. Yamamoto, number one for me. Henderson is too, but I do think the Spending UpSpending up means choosing a higher-priced player over a cheaper alternative, using more of your lineup's salary budget at that spot. You may also hear it called paying up.Build a version with your preferred expensive player and another without. Before choosing, check whether either version relies on a cheap player whose expected role still depends on unresolved injury news.Read the full definition of Spending Up to be contrarian Sanchez is really interesting. I like all three of those guys up at the top. I do rank them, Yamamoto, Henderson, Sanchez, just because Henderson fifteen hundred dollars cheaper than Sanchez. So it's hard for me to put Sanchez over him.
And I do want all the Yamamoto I can get, just like everybody else does. I mean, his ProjectionsDFS projections estimate a player's fantasy points for an upcoming slate using expected opportunities, performance and the contest's scoring rules. They describe an expected result, not a guaranteed score.Check the projection's update time and assumed role before using it. If news is already included, adjusting again for that same news can double-count its effect.Read the full definition of Projections off the chart. This is one of the best matchups in baseball for strikeouts. He's got a seven and a half K prop juice to the over there. So everything checks out for me. I don't really like Gaussman because I like Griffin and Bennett more than him. And he's sandwiched between the two. OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Read the full definition of Ownership is going to be kind of spread out amongst all three of those.
So if that's the case, just give me Bennett first. Then Griffin is kind of the other two guys up here. I like I'm not really messing with Hurter Brown. I don't love Kevin Gaussman either, just with all the lefties that Milwaukee can throw out against him. So I don't love that. And then it's just dropping down cheap. But ideally, I want two of Bennett, Henderson, Yamamoto, Sanchez, and then Griffin. Two of those guys to anchor my teams.
When we do jump cheap here below AKG rising, Will Warren stands out as kind of the popular cheap guy that everyone wants to go to. This guy's been miserable. I know it's against the Rockies, but the Rockies aren't. They still at least have a pulse. They have a pretty solid lineup here going tonight. The Goodman in there. They got McCarthy, Kerrig, Rumfield, Moniak. Sullivan's been hitting pretty decent. Zach Veen's in there. So it's a pretty damn good lineup for Colorado here.
So I don't love Will Warren into OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Read the full definition of Ownership because I do think he is the favorite guy that people are punting with. I'd rather mess with Davis Martin. Personally, if I'm going cheap and just taking a shot at Davis Martin against Pittsburgh, I know it didn't work out last night, but we've seen this how many times G rising where Pittsburgh slams a chalk pitcher and Sean Burke yesterday comes back. They scored what? Ten plus runs or whatever they scored yesterday, last night.
They come back today and get The other end of the stick, right, where Davis Martin goes out there and actually throws a decent game. He's $6,700. He's going to get some ownership, but not to the extent of Will Warren. So if I'm punting, I do think he's my favorite guy. I don't really want to mess with anyone else down here. I mean, if you wanted to mess with a Robert Stockett, $5,800 pitching in Miami, I think you could.
But I don't love it. Ideally, I say all that to say my. Pitching pool is going to be headlined with two of the five guys that I mentioned up at the top. You could even throw Gorman as the sixth guy there if you wanted to and just avoid this value tier altogether. But what do you see down here besides Will Warren and Davis Martin, which are kind of the clear-cut two value options on this SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. I don't think I really like anybody here in this cheaper tier here. I mean, I'm not a fan of Will Warren at all. I mean, he gets beat up by lefties quite a bit. Rocky's got a handful of lefties that definitely can get to him. So I'm not really – I think that's a guy that I would probably just avoid, to be honest with you. I haven't been a fan of the way he's been pitching recently.
I think Baz maybe would be a guy to look at. I just don't like the – that Cleveland lineup and what they're bringing to the table as far as any kind of power. I'm not really too worried about that lineup. Baz, I mean, can throw out a decent strikeout game here and there. So, I mean, if I was going to get cheap, I think he'd probably be my favorite one that I'd look at. Davis Martin, I mean, he came back off the IL.
He went five point two innings decent, but he only had three Ks. The strikeout percentage has kind of been down a little bit. I guess I could stomach it. But I think I'd just rather have Baz. I just really don't like any of these guys below. I think there's enough options up top.
Especially with some decent uh arms up there that you can use as we mentioned that are below $9,000 and below I think there's three guys you could use so there's plenty of ways to uh to get a little bit different at pitching I don't really see the need if you wanted to go up to Sanchez like to me to like play a Sanchez and like a baz combo or something like that I mean I think I would rather just play a couple of these $1,000 guys that have better matchups for me but I don't really like it, but Baz would probably be my favorite.
It seems like we've been picking on Will Warren a little bit. Now, if we were looking at a team that didn't really have hardly any lefty power, I wasn't really that concerned at all with the lefties there running out. Then I think You know, I'd bump Warren up a little bit, but I still don't think I'd have him in my pool.
I mean, that's just the kind of guy, like, in the first two or three innings, Nades, if he gives up, like, four runs, you're going to be like, son of a bitch, I fucking knew it. Like, why did I even play that bum? You know, like, that's that guy. So I don't even want to play him because it's just too frustrating when he sucks because I already know he sucks. Yeah, I agree. I do like your call on Shane Bass.
I think he's fine, but I actually probably just prefer going down cheap.
I think Robert Stock is – playable at $5,800 if you need the salary savings and then Davis Martin for for all the reasons I I alluded to earlier um Davis Martin does have a four and a half k properties due to the over stock and boz both have um four and a half k props just the under there so if you wanted to use that as a tiebreaker there I think it's interesting but ideally You want to Spending UpSpending up means choosing a higher-priced player over a cheaper alternative, using more of your lineup's salary budget at that spot. You may also hear it called paying up.Build a version with your preferred expensive player and another without. Before choosing, check whether either version relies on a cheap player whose expected role still depends on unresolved injury news.Read the full definition of Spending Up at pitching here.
There's enough bats to be able to do that and to be able to make it work. So Yamamoto is definitely my clear cut favorite. Yamamoto Bennett is probably my preferred if I can't get Henderson or Sanchez as the other guy. Last night, my best team did double spend at pitcher. So I'm probably going to try and do that again here tonight as other people try and make these cheap guys work to spend up for for bats. Right.
I can leave off a stud in the stack and play the back half there and just hope that they reap the benefits, too, and maybe pick up a stolen base or two or something like that. So, yeah, we're pretty in lockstep there in terms of. The pitching first game from a hitting perspective here is the Guardians and the O's Foster Griffin on the mound. Shane Baz on the mound. The O's you're going to get some LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Read the full definition of Leverage off Foster Griffin.
I don't think it's enough to really worry about it. I'd much rather just play Foster Griffin. The O's have tons of strikeouts as you see here against left handed pitching. That's why I think Foster Griffin is super interesting in tournaments here. But Pete Alonzo and Kobe Mayo and Encarnacion Strand, those three make a ton of sense as a three-man sack there. Guardians, Baz up and down, more good than bad. I don't love this game for offense here. How do you see this one, though?
Yeah, I don't really like it for offense either. I mean, overall in the SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. I mean, we got eight teams with a four-and-a-half So definitely some offense to be had out there. It's just not with these two. I mean, I just I don't I haven't been playing the Indians at all this this whole season, really. So I'm not going to not going to go there.
And I'm not really in the mindset to pick on Foster Griffin. Like you said, we're not getting enough LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Read the full definition of Leverage there. So I don't even really like any One-OffIn MLB DFS, a one-off is a hitter you roster without other hitters from his team. Decide whether his individual upside is worth passing up that extra scoring connection.Read the full definition of One-Off in this one. So I think we can we can feel pretty, pretty, pretty happy about skipping this one over. Yeah, tend to agree. I see more of the same here. Sanchez, Brown on the mound, Hurter Brown coming back. You can always play Schwerber, Harper, Stottsman, Decent, Marsh.
I don't love this game either for DFS perspective. Sanchez, don't want to pick on him. Hunter Brown's a good enough real-life arm. Don't really want to pick on him, even with a powerful offense. Would not be shocked. You still do have that bad Houston bullpen, but all things considered, and this is another game that I don't love for offense, but anything here you see, Maybe like a Schwarber if you wanted to swap out a heavy bat just because, I mean, Brown hasn't been the greatest.
His walk percentage the last thirty days has been at fifteen and a half percent. And he's been getting barreled up at almost ten percent. His fly ball rate is at almost twenty nine and a half percent. So do Schwarber can hit anybody. So we know that. I mean, maybe Schwarber. That would be maybe a One-OffIn MLB DFS, a one-off is a hitter you roster without other hitters from his team. But, yeah, I don't I don't mind that. Yeah, I tend to agree there.
Mets, Marlins, Jansen Junk on the mound, Robert Stock, two pitchers that are kind of eh, not great. But Stock, I think, is playable just because he's $5,800 facing the Marlins in Miami here. Offense wise, I think you could play some Mets here in the Marlins. I think you can play both sides of this one.
Um as our guy Belman would say um a nice four uh three pronger here no no junk interest for me so stock Marlins Mets if I had to pick a side it'd be more so on the met side because number one they're LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. I think there's some playable pieces here from the Mets. Not a top stack by any means, but I do think they're decent enough to at least mention them here on this SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. It determines which events your player selections can come from and which performances count toward your score. Before building, open the contest details and check the included events, scoring period and lock rules. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Read the full definition of Slate. What do you see here? Yeah, I see this game, Nate. Now, let's be honest. If this game was a football game, this would be the Thursday night game because nobody would want to watch this bullshit. But for me, I mean, even the Mets fans ain't going to watch this game.
But for me, I mean, yeah, you could pick on, you could definitely pick on Junk. I mean, he hasn't been very good, especially recent times. To especially lefty. So I think he'd be, you know, somebody that, you know, we could pick on with like a Juan Soto, maybe a Carlson bench. Maybe I look at like Lindor, maybe some of the lefties there. So I don't mind that.
I mean, that would be, you know, if I'm playing three teams, they're not even probably coming close to my, to my pool, but I don't mind it. But I mean, man, like the TV viewing on this one's probably even going to be about the worst, I've seen, but yeah, like I said, thank God the same football. Cause they'd make us watch this shit on Thursday night needs. Yeah, I agree. I do want to call it grand Polly.
This guy's been hitting bombs, um, against righties stock gives it up to the left side, um, with, with some fly balls and definitely gets barreled up, uh, a little bit too. So grand Polly, I think makes some sense as a, cheap One-OffIn MLB DFS, a one-off is a hitter you roster without other hitters from his team. You select him individually rather than as part of a group from the same batting lineup. Before adding a one-off, compare him with an affordable teammate of your existing stack. So if you need a salary saver at a bad position, I think he makes some sense. But yeah, we tend to agree there. Next spot, Angeles Red Sox.

He is ranked number one for our rankings over here at Shippenation facing the Angeles. You can always play a trout and a netto. That's about where I'd stop against lefties with this lineup here. Jose Siri, if you don't hit a home run in his first at bat or two, you're looking at a goose egg because he's going to get pinch hit for Red Sox. I think are more interesting here against Ryan Johnson and this Angeles bullpen.
Roman Anthony, Mickey Gasper, who's been incredible, Abreu. Issue for me is the price points. They're super expensive. That's the only downside I can say. Duren at the back half makes it a little bit more affordable. But I do think the top three are super interesting here. Hard to see Mickey Gasper sitting at $4,000 staring at you in the face, but this dude's been really good. Ryan Johnson is atrocious against lefties.
I think the Red Sox have a lot of upside on this slate and pretty low OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Yeah I I think we could pick out Ryan Johnson I do really like the uh the Red Sox here Roman Anthony you mentioned Gasper abray who uh I think this lineup against Johnson's really good shape I do want to pick on this angel bullpen as well so uh Red Sox for me somebody I'm definitely looking at you know I'm sitting there I was like this looking into Ryan Johnson a little bit seeing his recent form I mean he's actually been pretty good in his recent times As far as giving up earned runs, but I mean, then you kind of just look, I'm like, man, his K percentages are low, especially the left side.
He's at like sixteen and a half percent. He's been walking lefties. I mean, it's just it's it's his ground ball percentage to the right side is fairly low. So, you know, it's just like, man, this guy's due just to get DePommel. And I think it's a pretty good spot for that to happen here. So Johnson been right around mid-eighty pitches. But, yeah, I think the lefties here for the Red Sox are really interesting. Be one of my top favorite stacks. They're definitely my top five today.
Yeah, definitely in my top five, I do probably have the Yankees and the Dodgers ahead of them. Maybe some Royals or White Sox, something like that. I keep falling on this White Sox fucking train, but I do think they're definitely in play for sure. Roman Anthony, by far my favorite guy from the stack here, then Mickey Gasper. Overall, takes us to the Yankees. Will Warren, Sugano. I think the Rockies are pretty sneaky here.
We talked about Will Warren commanding a pretty hefty amount of OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Historically, he's not good against lefties. Zach Veen, I think, is a very interesting Sullivan. And then you wrap it around to the top and McCarthy, Kerrig, Rumfield, Goodman, Moniak even. I mean, I think the Rockies make some sense here.

So I do think the Rockies make some sense here because I just don't think anybody can get to him projections wise. Will Warren projects way better. People just aren't going to play the Rockies and on this kind of slate in this hitting environment.
In Yankee Stadium with the wind blowing out to left field at about sixteen miles an hour. I think it makes some sense. So I don't mind some Rockies here. And then on the other side, Yankees, you have to love the Yankees. Sugano is atrocious against lefties. Spencer Jones, Garcia, Rice, Bellinger, Wells, McMahon, all these guys look really good. The guy I had actually had the least amount of interest in is Aaron Judge. And he's $6,000.
So if I'm stacking the Yankees, most Yankee stacks are going to have Aaron Judge in there. I think I'd just rather leave Aaron Judge out. And I'd rather probably even play like a George Lombard as a righty in there for a lot cheaper.
I know it's a different position there and play Bellinger play Spence Jones and then play maybe a different contrarian Spending UpSpending up means choosing a higher-priced player over a cheaper alternative, using more of your lineup's salary budget at that spot. You may also hear it called paying up.Build a version with your preferred expensive player and another without. Before choosing, check whether either version relies on a cheap player whose expected role still depends on unresolved injury news.Read the full definition of Spending Up outfielder, like a, Jordan Alvarez or um in otani or something like that is kind of how I'm approaching it there but Yankees one through nine look really good they're my top overall stack on the slate here against sagado and ownership wise has the uh Red Sox much higher than them because they're a little bit more um affordable I think and they're facing the Angels right so talk to me here how do you how do you see the Yankees on this one Yeah, the Yankees definitely a top stack.
Probably going to be the most owned, I would assume. Sugano blows, as we know. He's not missing any bats with those incredibly low strikeout percentages. He's more of a fly ball lean, especially the last thirty days overall season. He's like mid-thirty percent. And you can't be throwing fly balls to these Yankees and not missing bats and expect... To have that great of an outcome.
So, I mean, I, I see what you're saying about not including judge just cause he's coming back, but you know, to pay that kind of salary for him. And I mean, even if you had a lineup without them, I mean, you got a ton of power, especially with them lefties, Rice, Bellinger, Alec Garcia, Spence Jones, McMahon, Wells. I mean, I think all of those guys are definitely in play.
I mean, you know, like if you wanted to throw in Judge and, you know, you sacrifice and go down to a, you know, a cheaper pitcher, maybe you went from, you know, like a, you know, like we talked about it, but maybe you went from a Logan Henderson down to a Bennett. Maybe, you know, you wanted to do something like that if you want to throw him in.
And I don't mind throwing Schwarber in there instead of, you know, a, And Aaron Judge, I think I'd rather have a Schwarber than like a judge, maybe in your Yankee stack and go with some of the cheaper, cheaper Yankees. But as far as the Rockies go, yeah, I definitely want some of the, you know, I don't mind this as a Game StackIn baseball, a game stack means rostering hitters from both offenses in one game, typically in a hitter-friendly park or against two weak starting pitchers.Target games where the spread is close as well as the total high. A high total with a lopsided spread can turn into a blowout where only one side keeps scoring.Read the full definition of Game Stack. Actually, Will Warren, like I said, the lefties been getting at him here. Uh, Rumfield, I think is interesting.
He's, uh, been smashing righties all year long. Moniacs definitely got some power. Sullivan and Veen at the bottom of that lineup are some cheap bats you can throw in there. If you wanted to have a type, you know, a cheaper Mini-StackIn MLB DFS, a mini-stack is two or three hitters from the same team, often used alongside a larger stack from another offense. Their scoring can connect when one hitter reaches base and another drives him in.Before locking a pair, describe how both players reach big scores together. Then ask whether that outcome would make an omitted quarterback or teammate difficult to beat.Read the full definition of Mini-Stack, if you wanted to include with your Yankees instead of like a Wells, you know, I think you can, you know, go something like that. So. Yeah, I think this game is definitely interesting from an offensive standpoint. Yankees are going to be highly owned.
And then, obviously, the Rockies are not. Like, it seems like that's the case with the Rockies in most occasions. But, yeah, I think we can pick on Will Warren. I mean, it seems like we've been doing – Will Warren has not been very good recent times. So, I think the Yankees, though, are going to be the chalkier team of the – uh, the slate tonight. And I think it's kind of going to be how you play them too.
So if you want to get overly owned on them, you know, maybe mixed, you know, taking out a rice, maybe taking out a, I mean, an Aaron Judge, I doubt you'll be able to probably make a lineup with both the minute without really sacrificing that pitcher, but yeah, definitely, uh, some power to be had with a guy who ain't missing any damn bats. I love both sides of this game for sure.
Definitely Yankees, but I think there's enough of enough ownership that's going to spread between them, the Red Sox and the Dodgers that I think doesn't really matter which ones you go in that I think it's going to spread out enough. It's not like one's clear cut ahead of the rest or something like that. They're all going to kind of be similar. So that does put the Yankees number one for me.
And, yeah, I think no one's going to play the Rockies, so I'll gladly play some Rockies here. Next one, Ronaldo Lopez, Griffin Jacks. Rays, I think, have some interest against Lopez. I just hate this bullpen. Lopez is a decent enough real-life arm. This is a game that I'm kind of passing altogether from offense-wise. Two pretty solid teams here overall.
So I just hope this game's like three to two, something like that, that doesn't really need – you don't really need it and doesn't really kill you if you don't have anything from it. So how do you see this one, though, in Truist here? I mean, yeah, if you want to go with some lefties on the Braves, I don't mind that. Griffin Jacks doesn't look very good against lefties. He's got a .. . . In his last thirty days, kind of a smaller type sample size.
But I mean, more mostly a ground ball type type pitcher does give up a little bit more fly balls over the season to the right side. But he's just been getting beat up by lefties. So, I mean, maybe, you know, Baldwin, Olson, Harris would be somewhere. Maybe Albies would be somewhere. I look, I don't really love it, but I wouldn't discount it. Yeah, I tend to agree. Next spot on the SlateA slate in DFS is the set of games, races, fights or tournament rounds covered by a contest. Do not assume two sites offer identical slates just because both call them the main slate.Read the full definition of Slate here, Royals, D-backs. This is definitely an interesting slate.
D-backs are going to be super chalk again here. They were right up there with like the highest on stack yesterday. I think it's going to be much more of the same because look at their salaries. I mean, they're dirt cheap facing a – pretty shitty lefty and Daniel Lynch. So, uh, I mean, you got cheap guys, Tim Tawa, who's been hitting well, he's $2,900. I think he makes some sense. Arenado, um, James McCann has been decent Lawlar.
I mean, these guys, these, these cheap righties, I think make a lot of sense. Lords, Gary L. There's some pinch hit risk with these guys, but You got a horrible bullpen here. Really good weather again in Kansas City like it has been pretty much the last week and a half, two weeks or so. However, the wind is blowing in here and it's only seventy eighty degrees. It's not one hundred plus like it has been. But talk to me here. Any interest in this one?
I think the Royals have a lot of interest for me against Soroka here. I'm not so much interested in the D-backs, but I do think they make a lot of sense as more fillers, like a Tawa Girial Mini-StackIn MLB DFS, a mini-stack is two or three hitters from the same team, often used alongside a larger stack from another offense. Their scoring can connect when one hitter reaches base and another drives him in.Before locking a pair, describe how both players reach big scores together. Then ask whether that outcome would make an omitted quarterback or teammate difficult to beat.Read the full definition of Mini-Stack or like a Tawa Arenado, something like that as fillers off of my main stack. Fill in some of those off positions. Maybe you play Ben Rice at catcher and then you play...
Um towel at first base to save some salary there instead of Garcia or something like that right there's a bunch of different ways you can slice it up but I do think the Royals have a lot of my interest here in this one overall how do you see this one you know the Royals I'd be really interested if it was this you know Zach Gallen start instead of Soroka coming back out here but I mean, I love picking on Zach Gallin.
But for me, I mean, Soroka, I mean, he's not really all that good. He's got a really low K percentage against lefties. I think they can get after him here. So, you know, I just don't really like the overall power that the Royals are bringing. But Jensen, Vinny, I think you could have him play Massey. But I don't overly love it as far as Arizona goes against Kansas City in that terrible bullpen. I mean, I could see why everybody's liking that.
Daniel Lynch isn't anybody we're really too concerned of. But, yeah, Lawlar, Tawa, Waldschmidt, McCann. I think all these guys definitely play Marino, Marte, Perdomo. I mean, the lineup's pretty good. I was, you know, looking at it, Nate, trying to put up my stacks. I think I got the White Sox a little bit higher than the D-backs, but they're pretty close up there for me in my top of my ranks today. But, yeah, I do have the Red Sox higher than them.
But, yeah, for me, definitely in play. I think if I had three teams, I'd probably have a little piece of some D-backs here, especially that Royals bullpen just stinks. Yeah, I do like Gurriel, Tawal, Lawlar, McCann. That kind of back half, Arnotta, four, five, six, seven, eight, looks pretty good overall. And then you leave some of the guys who the majority of the people are going to play in Vargas and Marte, Perdomo, off of that.
I do think that makes a lot of sense. And then Jensen, Pasquantino, Massey look really good as well. John Raby has shown some power. Isbell. So I do like this game for offense. Anytime they face a righty and a pretty weak righty at that, I'm going to have some interest in them, especially when they're not picking up OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Sign me up, rinse and repeat, White Sox. I love the lefties here overall. Grichuk, I'm not sure why Randall Grichuk is starting against a righty here, hitting fourth, but if that's the case, he's probably pinch hit free in this one, but Antonacci and with Benintendi starting as well, that helps Ben Attendee's pinch hit risk.
So I love Ben Attendee here hitting two. Antonasi, Ben Attendee, Murakami all look really good. Both the Montgomery look good. Tristan Peters and then even Tyler Teal at the back half hit a bomb yesterday. I'm going right back to him. I like the wraparound here. The nine, one, two, three looks really nine, one, two, three, five, something like that looks really good. Or seven, nine, one, two, three, something like that looks really good here for me from the White Sox.
Pirates, You could play the lefties against Davis Martin, Brandon Lowe, O'Neal Cruz, Horwitz, Flores, Gonzalez. These guys, they got the job done yesterday. I'm not going to chase it personally myself. I much prefer the White Sox side here in this one. But how do you see this game? Yeah, I don't mind both sides, but I do like the White Sox a little bit more. I mean, especially those lefties. I mean, Murakami, Montgomery, Benintendi, Antonacci. That's where I'd be looking.
I mean, it's going to be pretty much bullpen game. So I think the White Sox are definitely playing, especially after, like you mentioned, they disappointed yesterday. So like I said, I do have them pretty close to the same bucket as the D-backs, as we just discussed. Now, as far as Pittsburgh goes, Man, Lau, I think is interesting. O'Neal Cruz. Brian Reynolds, I think would be interesting. I think those are the plays I would use. More like Mini-StackIn MLB DFS, a mini-stack is two or three hitters from the same team, often used alongside a larger stack from another offense. But, I mean, Davis Martin coming back off the IL. I mean, I think we could pick on him a little bit here. But I do really like the White Sox side. Like I said, I'd have the White Sox up there in my top five today. Yeah, I agree with that one. Next game, Cubs, Brewers, Gorman, Henderson too. Good enough for real life arms. Both really good offenses here. Cubs really good. Obviously Brewers, not so great for DFS, but a really good offense nonetheless.
Chourio's been red hot. I think he's interesting. Terang projected to be moved down in the lineup here, but you want the lefties against Gorman. Henderson, you don't really want anyone against, but PCA has been red hot. His price is coming down. Six to eight hundred still up there for him. He's stealing, though, every chance he gets. So if he gets a walk, I mean, you're looking at seven points right there because he's going to steal second, maybe even steal third. So he's got a ton of upside.
I think he makes a really interesting One-OffIn MLB DFS, a one-off is a hitter you roster without other hitters from his team. Two good enough arms. I think there's much better spots on this slate, too.
Attack here gosman's actually been pretty decent overall uh the course of the year and he's actually showing more reverse splits he getting hit harder from the right side so I think Chourio um definitely makes some sense Contreras ortiz um those three guys from the righties um make some sense but I'm not really full stacking either side of this game how do you see it though Yeah, I'm not either. Game total, seven and a half. I mean, you mentioned PCA.
I mean, that's another guy that's in the same boat as Schwarber. I mean, Henderson gives up quite a few fly balls, and especially the last thirty days, he's been giving up more of a fly ball. I mean, he's at a forty three percent fly ball rate the last thirty days and sixty nine playing appearances.
That's quite that's pretty high I mean we know pca the type season he's having you know he's going to steal some bags I actually kind of like him better than Schwarber in this position here so I think he'd be a guy like you know swap out for Aaron Judge build some Yankees around him or you know something like that he's not going to be owned so I mean if he's I mean this dude could definitely win some mvp so I think you know this ride one of the hot hands you're going to get them at pretty much no OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. But yeah, I think PCA is definitely interesting. Another guy I want to mention, or two guys, Conforto and Pedro Ramirez, right? Ramirez has been hitting the ball pretty well as of late. He's pretty cheap. Phil's a pretty shitty position. Conforto has a bunch of power there, especially against righties. Hits the ball in the air as well in PCA. So you've got a nice little seven, eight, one stack, something like that as a Mini-StackIn MLB DFS, a mini-stack is two or three hitters from the same team, often used alongside a larger stack from another offense. And I just like that added upside in all three of those guys will steal for sure. Definitely. Obviously PCA will for sure. Last game of the slate is a full three hours almost after the rest of the slate. So if you play this game, I mean, you're kind of stuck with whatever you have left. Dodgers do look like the best overall stack right up there next to the Yankees and the Red Sox.
You probably get the Dodgers lower on than both of them just because we probably don't have their lineup before the lock for sure. I love the Dodgers here. I think they're a great spot here. I'm not a Rhett Lauer guy. I think he sucks. Reds bullpen is trash behind him. Sign me up. Love the Dodgers. No interest really in the Reds outside of Elliot De La Cruz.

And Hector Rodriguez, just the lefty power. But I don't really love it. Yamamoto limits power anyways. Dodgers are busting this one. All things on L.A. For me. Yeah, Dodgers definitely interesting. Rhett Lauer has not been good against lefties. Walk percentage at eleven and a half for the season. K percentage only at eighteen percent.
Getting barreled up at eleven and eleven point seven percent by lefties. So, I mean, he gives up gives up fly balls to is at a thirty seven percent fly ball rate to lefties. I mean, yeah, Ohtani, Freeman, Muncy, Edmund, Tucker. I think Tucker the only one I wouldn't place. He's like Tyler Tucker's like, I don't know, he's lost or something.
I saw a video the other day, Ohtani was trying to talk to him or something on an iPad and they were going over something. He looked at Ohtani like he was a freaking Martin. Like, dude, he's like the best player in the damn world. Like, why didn't you listen to that guy? You can't hit a fucking beach ball in recent times. Like, dude, listen to the guy. But either way, I think the Dodgers are all in play.
Tyler Tucker, for me, like I said, probably be the only one I'd avoid. Yeah. I ain't going there. Yeah, I was just looking at Reds do have a couple lefties in there. It looks like one's going to be available for sure in Brock Burke. He hasn't pitched in two days. He's not a very good lefty, but he's at least a lefty. So there is some pinch hit risk in this lineup there from some of these guys in here.
Probably Alex Freeland would be the biggest guy if he makes that start. Maybe Tyler Tucker a little bit, but really Freeland the main pinch hit risk. So make sure you pay attention to that.
But G-Roz, end of the show, your top three hitters, top three stacks and a home run call. Ooh, top three hitters. We haven't done that one before, I'd say. Top three here. Sorry, top three stacks, top three pitchers. All right, all right. I mean, you threw me for a little curveball there. But top three pitchers, I'm going to go Yamamoto, Henderson. I mean, it would be too easy to say Sanchez. I actually like Brown a little bit more than most, so I think I would go there.
And stacks, I'm going to say Yankees, who will be pretty ChalkChalk is the most popular, highly owned play on a slate. I am going to say PCA is going to hit a bomb off Logan Henderson. All right. I like that.
For me, pitchers, I'm going to go Yamamoto, Henderson, and then I'll go Jake Bennett, Sanchez, number four, Foster Griffin, five. So kind of those main five there. Stacks for me, I'm going Dodgers, Yankees. And then I will not going to go Red Sox like everyone else is going to go. I will actually say the Rockies. I think the Rockies are pretty interesting. And then the White Sox as well in the Royals. So that's kind of my five for five there on both of those.
Terms of a home run call here. I'm going to go to the White Sox, and I'm going to go to a guy hitting second now. Probably pinch hit risk three. Andrew Benintendi up in the two hole, $3,500.
