All Systems go. Clear your liftoff.. What is going on, Ship It Nation YouTube station? We are back with another edition of the MLB Show. It's your boy, Ham. It's your boy, Weatherman Matt. We're in the booth this Friday, like each and every Friday that we do this. And before we get going, my man Matt was balling last night. Twenty-five stacks in his pocket. Matt, congratulations. I'll bring you right in. So close to the big shipper. But, man, you've been heating up. You've been hot at the right time.
How are you doing today? I'm good, man. Always happy to be doing the double shows with you back to back. I feel like that got me on the right stuff yesterday. Yeah, it was real close to taking down the . But we'll take second place because I do feel like a lot of things went my way to get there. So we'll take it. Can't be greedy. Would have loved to just get that extra point. But we'll get there tonight. We'll take down tonight.
So yesterday will be an afterthought. I'm excited to break this slate down with you. I know you're Mr. World Traveler, so you're back home now, I presume. Yeah, back home. Got in at the late. Appreciate everyone sticking around. Yeah, I was on a flight, got delayed, then had to fight traffic to get home. But nevertheless, we're here to break down all thirteen games over here.
If you aren't a member of our Ship It Nation, You should get on over there now because we're giving away. You can see it there at the top of the screen. Shipping games, over $45,000 in cash and prizes. This NFL football season. Get in today. Five to five days for nineteen bucks. If you aren't a member, try to get in there now. We got thirteen games, Matt. We're going to do game by game like we do each and every Friday night.
First up on the slate, two teams that are near and dear to your heart. Got the Cleveland Guardians, the home team. Tanner Bibee on the hill taking on the Royals. Five-man Royals stack got us there last night. Jac Caglianone, that pitch couldn't have been thirty-five miles an hour last night, but he's been hot. Bobby Witt Jr. And Carter Jensen always in play. You got the Royals. Michael Wacha heading into Cleveland to take on Tanner Bibee. Talk to me about this one.
Yeah. Man, the Royals are hot right now. They won ten of eleven. Yeah, they really are. Obviously treated me real nice last night. They're out of it as far as playoff contention goes, which is pretty wild in a weak AL to win ten of eleven and still be out of it, but they are because they were so bad before that. Ah, the IB is a pitcher I don't mind picking on.
They're not in as good of a spot as they were yesterday when you had, man, When you had the combo of Arrighetti and then Simeon Woods Richardson, that's like a dream combo for him. You nailed that one. I was surprised that the Caglianone home was only like twelve percent. The thing is, they were expensive because they were expensive because you look at my five man stack, which was the top four and then Isbel. And then I had McAdoo, who was dirt cheap.
Gilbert who is $3,000 and then Albies who is like $4,000. So not cheap and not pricey. And I could still only fit sale and route. I couldn't even, you know what I mean? Like that's why the Royals were LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Full explanation ↗. And I made it a priority to fit them in at least a couple of my lineups and it paid off obviously. So I think you can go right back there tonight. Bibee is good, but inconsistent at best.
The Royals obviously are seeing the ball well right now. Yeah, I think they're a ContrarianA contrarian play or lineup is one built around choices most of the field will not make, such as low-owned players, unpopular teams or an unusual salary structure.Pick one or two contrarian spots per lineup and ground each in a real reason. The rest of the roster can look like the field.Full explanation ↗ stack on this slate. I mean, it's a big slate. Yeah, like what do you say really, like in the sense that you don't think they're contrarian or you don't think they're in play? No, no, no, I definitely think they're in play. I mean, I just haven't dug into the slate like you have. That's what I was like, really?
I know there's thirteen teams, but like you said, they've been piping hot. They're not going to get any loss. Okay. They're not going to get any love. Bibee is respected. They're expensive. They're not in like an amazing Ballpark FactorsBallpark factors, also called park factors, measure how much a stadium raises or lowers scoring compared with an average park. Altitude, fence distances, foul territory and typical weather shape them, and some parks favor one side of the plate.Check whether a park factor is split by handedness. Some parks boost left-handed power while doing little for righties, and that split can change which hitters you stack.Full explanation ↗. You know, they don't have a crazy high run total. I think actually Bibee won't get any love either. I don't want to play him. I could go back to the Royals. I don't love them.
I don't think they stand out, but obviously they're on my good side right now. I don't hate Cleveland against Wacha either. Cleveland also red hot. Just swept their West Coast road trip, coming back home, facing a hot but bad Royals team. Wacha, kind of like Bibee. When he's good, he's good, but when he's not, he's not, and he's inconsistent. I like Kansas City, I think, more than Cleveland, but I think both those teams are similar on this slate.
And neither of them will get any love because there's just teams that look a lot better. Although there are teams that look better outside of a couple, namely Atlanta. There aren't any, like, amazing stacks on this slate. So I think you could make a case for a lot of teams, and Cleveland and Kansas City are going to get overlooked. Cleveland, Kansas City overlooked. All right. Good call there, but you got Casey a little ahead of Cleveland. Excellent breakdown there.
Moving on to the next game, Astros out of Yankee Stadium into Shea Stadium. Hunter Brown taking on Christian Scott, two confirmed lineups out there. Hey, you were right. Last night, the Mets, they didn't get to Misiorowski, Misiorowski, but they did get two runs, and Misiorowski certainly didn't pay off his price. And as you showed in your lineup, you did not need Misiorowski last night at . So excellent call by you, as always. Talk to me a little bit about this game.
The Astros have been hitting the ball pretty well, taking on the Mets. I don't love much from this game. It's a big slate. A lot of games in play, obviously. And I just think this is one where if I'm making one lineup, I'm not getting anything from. Hunter Brown's in play, I guess, but he's still pricey and hasn't been the Hurter Brown we know and love from years past. Christian Scott.
He's good enough with enough strikeout upside where he might be the best piece of this game. But as you mentioned, Houston's good. They're coming off a good series in New York. I don't really want to play Christian Scott here. I don't really want to stack Houston. And I don't really want to play Hurter Brown, and I won't stack the Mets here. So this is kind of a nothing spot for me personally. Am I off? I don't think so. I think it's Houston or bust here.
I'm not a fan of this. I mean, I just look at this Mets lineup and, you know, nothing scares me in here outside of the man batting second. I think this is a pretty – a pretty good lineup to navigate. The one thing I would say for all my FanDuel players out there is Hurter Brown is only $9,000. I do like that price over there for him on FanDuel, but that's only on FanDuel and nothing else.
And that's just because you're getting, I think, a steep discount on it. But don't don't don't love it by any stretch. Cool. Let's move on to the next game. Got the Padres. I don't think they're getting a Ballpark FactorsBallpark factors, also called park factors, measure how much a stadium raises or lowers scoring compared with an average park. Altitude, fence distances, foul territory and typical weather shape them, and some parks favor one side of the plate.Check whether a park factor is split by handedness. Some parks boost left-handed power while doing little for righties, and that split can change which hitters you stack.Full explanation ↗ because they're still in a terrible ballpark, but they are headed to Tampa Bay to take on Shane McClanahan. Casey Mize on the bump. I think he left early, if I'm not mistaken, the other day. Matt, correct me if I'm wrong there, but you got the Padres headed into Tampa.
We don't see these two teams playing a lot, but you like either offense or either one of these pitchers in this contest. I definitely don't like the pitching. I don't love the offenses, but I think you could make a case for either offense because they're both good enough to get to either pitcher here. And they'll both be LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Full explanation ↗. So, yeah. I mean, I don't think anyone's racing to stack San Diego in this spot.
But McClanahan isn't like a true ace or anything of that sort. San Diego's been really good. So, I get it. We know Tampa has power. Ultimately... As much as I want to sit here and say, I think you can play Tatis, Caminero, and you can. If I'm playing one lineup, this is another game I'm not getting to anything from. Did Mize get hurt last game, or am I just thinking things? Did he leave early or something? Maybe a couple.
I don't think so recently in his San Diego starts. I know he got shelled in his first start. I mean, he hasn't been good for them. Okay. Yeah, I thought it was like on. So, yeah, it would have been on Saturday or Sunday, and I know I caught it there at the end, especially being out in Vegas. I don't remember too much about it. But, yeah, I'm with you again. Once again, hate the ballpark. The Padres are tough to stack.
The Rays are tough to stack, in my opinion, just because, you know, they want to play small ball and pinch hit. Feels like every inning, you know, so.
I'm with you, or twelve game slate, I said thirteen game earlier, but twelve game slate, I'm not getting to either one of these teams, you know, if I'm playing one or three, you know, I'd say five plus, maybe, twenty plus, yeah, you'll probably maybe get one or two, but don't love them by any stretch of the imagination. Same thing goes with the pitcher, you said, I'll play a bachelor pitcher, yeah, go ahead, sorry.
And you're right about Mize, he did leave, he got hurt, he hurt his ankle last start, left early, he wasn't pitching well, and they say he's fine after his bullpen session, but Doesn't mean he's going to do well. Yeah, something to monitor, though. I'm going to take a look and see. I'm going to write a note down to take a look at Mize. It's funny.
He was awful in his first start for the Padres and then was pretty decent in his next two and then obviously left the last one early and was bad. So we'll see what we get tonight. Good stuff there. Three games into the twelve-game slate. Next game up on the slate, Mr. Hancock, Emerson Hancock headed north of the border to take on this Jays team.
We know their bullpen is stretched thin, especially after last night, but they may not need the bullpen tonight as you got the ace, Dylan Cease. He is $11,500 on this slate, but he's been dynamite all year long. Now he gets to take on this Mariners team. Never stacked the Blue Jays, so I certainly won't be on them. Interested to see if you're going to take them tonight. Against a $7,700 Emerson Hancock. But I'll let you go. Mariners at the Blue Jays.
Cease is the clear SP1 here. I mean, he's been phenomenal, as you've mentioned. Now you get a Seattle team that we've kind of like picking on all year. Yeah, he's expensive. But... He's the clear SP one. I don't think that's any question. Anywhere you look, we'll have him projected as the top dog, and that makes sense. He is. He's been awesome this year. I like him a lot. I think he's a definite better player than Schlittler or Henderson. You know, the other two expensive guys.
I'm not going to be shocked if either of them outscore him or if Cease has an off game because we've seen that before, and it's baseball. But on paper, I want to play Cease. If I'm playing one lineup, I'm likely to get there. Hancock's a no for me. Toronto, I'm not looking to stack them on this slate in this park. But I think you could use them as pieces because they're so cheap. And Hancock is not good. I don't want to say he's not good.
He's not great. He's not a pitcher I'm afraid to pick on. But ultimately, I don't love the Blue Jays here. I think it's just a nothing spot for me. It's all about Cease. It's all about cease. They raised Vladimir. I know we were talking about Vladimir being $3,900 last night. Now he's $4,000. Where's your boys? Your boy not overpriced. Probably not. Yeah. I think they got Arozarena leading off Cal Raleigh batting fifth. He's been hot.
Taylor Ward all the way down to the seven hole. Man, what a brutal what a brutal year that they're having over there. Yeah, so Avery says, is that a two-man race for the AL Cy Young Cease versus Schlittler? Is that kind of what we're thinking? I feel like Parker Messick should be in that, no? I don't know. I mean, why not? I haven't looked at it at all, so keep that in mind when I say that. All right, let's move on to the next game.
We got the game everybody's going to want to be on. You got your boy Sugano, who we picked on for the last several starts, taking on Grant Holmes and the Braves coming off the sweep. Get those brooms out. Send those L.A. Boys back home, packing with zero dubs. Now they get to take on Sugano. You know they're going to be popular. Drake Baldwin first pitch, ding-dong last night. It was all they needed in a one-nothing win with Chris Sale.
But now you get the Rockies coming to town. I don't hate these Rockies, Matt. Interested to hear your take on that. We know they got popped with Tennessee native Hurter Goodman. Talk to me a little bit about this game. Rockies at the Braves. So, yeah, I've played the Braves against pitchers like Glasnow, Yamamoto recently. I'm definitely playing them against Gano. They're the best stack on the board, I think, pretty clearly. I think so, yeah. Lopez is not bad at all.
You look at his game log and not just at his underlying stuff, it's been good. Even when he was not pitching well, his underlying stuff was always good. So, yeah. Give me Atlanta. Definitely over Baltimore for me. They're my top stack, pretty clearly. So, I want to play some of them. I don't think their OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Full explanation ↗ gets crazy. But then... I thought it was going to be my hot take, but it's not. I also like the Rockies here. Grant Holmes, not good.
The problem with the Rockies is the Braves have a real good bullpen. So that's tough. But I don't mind picking on Holmes here. And the Rockies are going to be low, LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Full explanation ↗ compared to Atlanta, who's going to be the highest on team on the slate. So kind of flipping the script a little bit there. I'm in on the Rockies and certainly in on the Braves here. It's hard not to like Atlanta, you know. Oh, yeah, for sure.
Sugano, I think he was on there a couple of shows ago. He's awful. He's like the worst of all the bad pitchers. Of all the bad pitchers in baseball, he might be the literal worst. You have starters. I mean, no, not. Man, he might be. He might be the worst. Might be the worst starter. What about, what was I going to ask you? I forget what I was going to ask you. What are these Braves?
Like if you're playing, like how, like, oh, I know what I was going to ask you. Are you playing one through nine Braves? Are you okay with that? I definitely think you got to be, I definitely think you got to be willing to play one through nine in Atlanta because you're the highest on team on the board, you know? Yeah. Oh, that's what it was. Rockies versus the Royals. Who do you like better?
I came into this show, definitely the Rockies, but after like talking it out with you, I don't know. I'm kind of apt to go back to the Royals here. The Royals are going to be unowned. They just, they've been good. It's about equal to me as of this moment. Okay. All right. Moving on to the next game. Got one of the oldest rivalries. Got Curt Schilling's bloody sock. Johnny Damon's bomb. Man, those were the good old days.
Now you got Pablo Sandoval taking on Cam Schlittler. $10,700 Cam Schlittler. Red Sox cooling down a little bit, I guess. But this should be a great contest tonight. Red Sox at the Yankees. Walt, we throw it, Matt. Yeah, Schlittler. Obviously – well, not obviously. I guess I should say definitely in play. I mean, I like Cease more, and it's really hard to fit both. But Schlittler is cheaper, and we know that when Schlittler has his best stuff, he's got Cease like upside.
So if he's on tonight and Cease is not, you know, even though Cease isn't a better matchup, that might not matter, and Schlittler going to be lower owned. So I get going there in tournaments. I prefer Cease, but – Schlittler's been phenomenal, mostly all year, so I get it. I'm not in on Sandoval. I'm not in on Bolton Bats. You could get me on some Yankees, though. Prefer them against righties, but Sandoval not good.
Puts guys on base, and I wouldn't be shocked if they get to him from both sides of the plate. I don't think the Yankees get a lot. They're expensive, so I think that keeps their OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Full explanation ↗ down. But Yeah, I could see going with some Yankees here, especially if their ownership is low in tournaments. I know they let down people last night. Maybe it's time to take advantage of that and go right back there. Back to the Yankees, but we don't like them versus a lefty.
I mean, I just like them more against righties. I feel like their best hitters are – many of their best hitters are lefties. Rice, Bellinger, Jazz, Grisham. You know, I mean, honestly, they profile a lot better against right-handed pitching. Yep. All right. Do us a favor. Hit that like. Hit that subscribe button if you haven't already done so. Certainly helps us out a ton over here. We've gone halfway through the slate tonight.
Next game up on the slate, my boy Jog Jams taking on Logan Henderson, another high-priced pitcher, $10,500. He's number three in the pricing. This should be a brewer's night, if I'm not mistaken. Jackson Chourio had a really good game last night, but he was expensive, and I don't believe he was on the winner. Matt, so talk to me about this game. Cody Bradford, whoever that is, taking on this Brewers team back in Milwaukee. Logan Henderson on the bump for the Brewers.
Yeah, it's all about Milwaukee here. All things Milwaukee, no doubt. I think Henderson is also a good play. I think he's lower owned than even Schlittler, and he projects a little bit worse. I don't feel as good about him, but he's in a better spot. And he's also been nails this season. You probably don't get the length. You definitely don't get the length that you do out of ceaselessly from him. That's the big thing for me why I struggle to get there over those two guys.
But he's good and in a good spot. And again, it doesn't take that much. It's not like there's...
Seven guys up here there's just three so all of a sudden one of them isn't great the other two you know can take advantage of that and Henderson I expect to pitch really well here just expensive on a slate with other expensive pitchers be like two others so tough to like prioritize him but I do like him and then the Brewers against Bradford yeah you can talk me into some Milwaukee here um Ah, man, another team I prefer against right-handed pitching.
But they got guys that can crush lefties. Chourio, you mentioned, homered twice last night. I was all over that. I'm disappointed. I thought – I did a little home run parlay, and I put him in it. I had a feeling he might go yard twice. I should have bet that two home runs because that guy's crazy. That's not something I normally bet, so I can't be too bad at myself.
But the two – forty-seven DK points for Chourio last night, and he's a guy that can put them up in a hurry. So – Even if you don't stack Milwaukee, using them as one-offs or mini-stacks, I think makes sense. Yeah, good stuff there. Next game up on the slate, White Sox taking on the Twins. Walker Jenkins been getting a lot of publicity. He's making his major league debut. He's batting ninth tonight. Dante Culpepper batting eighth. Trevor Larnach. Take on Luis Castillo.
And will the real Luis Castillo please stand up? And the last two contests, Matt, he is stand up. He's not a sixty one point player. He's not a good pitcher, real life pitcher. And he's proven that the last two games. But talk to me about this game. You got the White Sox taking on former Orioles great Dean Kremer in an AL Central contest. Talk to me. Yeah, I wish Walker Jenkins wasn't hitting ninth.
I feel like you could play him as a one-off, but I hate playing nine-hole hitters as one-offs. I really only want to play him if I'm stacking Minnesota, which I think you could do. Castillo, not good. He killed me that start. I stacked the Reds against him, and the Reds just get – they get owned by every – I don't know. It's funny. The Reds are getting – Except two. Except two. Man, who – Yeah, the dude for the White Sox. What's his name? Davis Martin.
Yeah. But the thing with the Reds, it's funny, too, because they, like, every week, six days out of the week, they're awful. And they strike out twenty times, and they score no runs. And then the other day, they scored ten runs and hit five homers. They're like that team right now. At least that's how it is to me. That aside, for this game... I don't like Castillo. I like the Twins. I like that they called up Jenkins.
I hate that they're hitting him ninth, but they got a good lineup as is. Coming off a pretty disappointing series in Sacramento, but good spot for them here. Similar for the White Sox. We like the White Sox against right-handed pitching. We talk about that all the time. Kramer, not bad, but not great either. White Sox have gotten to much better right-handed pitchers lately, namely Jacob deGrom. I think this is an offensive-minded game. I don't mind either side. All right.
I got to ask you, Twins versus Kansas City. I like the Twins. I think the Twins look good here. I'm going to say the Twins. White Sox versus Kansas City. Man, I like this game, honestly. I'm going to say the White Sox. I do like this game a lot. I think it looks good. Travis Duarte, you got Gary Sheffield in his prom, a.k.a. Tristan Peters, just been hitting bombs left and right. Insert fourteen points.
He should come preloaded with fourteen points. I do just been crushing the baseball. I'm with you. I'm glad I'm glad you like this game. I was I didn't want to tee you up too much. But man, this game, take the over, take team total overs. I'm stacking it in DFS. Walker Jenkins, do the little old Matt Belman wraparound with the nine one. What was it? Nine one, two, three, four last night.
Just printing, printing $25,000 like it's no big deal. I like that. Again tonight with the Twins against this. Luis Castillo is not – he is who we thought he was. All right, next game up on the slate, Jared who? Jared Jones taking on Quinn Matthews, headed to the STL to take on these Cardinals. NL Central battle in this one. Got the Pirates at the Cardinals. Talk to me. I think you can play Quinn Matthews. This is a definite – Is this a three-pronger?
Yeah, I think it is a three-pronger here. Maybe not. Playing who? Quinn Matthews? Who is Quinn Matthews? I mean, he's nothing special, and I think you can play Pittsburgh against him, but he doesn't project all that bad, and he's $5,700. Some places across the industry have him projecting more than guys like Hurter Brown, who's $9,500. No. Yes. Yes. Not everywhere. Some places. So just keep that in mind. You're looking at a $5,700 pitcher.
And there's a couple of cheap pitchers we can look at. Talk about Baltimore earlier. Jacob Lopez definitely in play against them. But I digress. Quinn Matthews. Don't feel good about it. But that price tag, man, just does a lot for you on slates like this. So. I think that. You're playing one of those guys with an expensive pitcher. Hold on. I got a sneeze. Why is Hurter Brown getting projected? Well, the Hurter Brown hate is just like out of control. I don't think it's hate.
I just don't think he's been that. He's not any good? Either way. I still think he'll be good eventually. Just not right now. Who's Fitzwell? I don't know who that is. Blade Tidwell? This is for the Giants. Yeah, we haven't gotten there yet, Asia. Now, give us a few minutes. Yeah. We'll get there soon enough. Yeah, I think Matthews and the Pirates are both in play here.
We like lefties against – I'm pretty sure Matthews is a little lefty before I get that mistake. Yeah, he is. Okay. Much prefer lefties against Pittsburgh. He's also, like, not particularly good. So you told me you want to stack Pittsburgh against him on this slate. I don't hate it. But he's cheap enough where I think he's in play. And then St. Louis against Jared Jones. Jared Jones is, like, a tantalizing arm. It's a four pronger. Honestly, he's in play. Jared Jones is $6,300.
St. Louis is. Go ahead. When he's supposed to be good. Yeah. I mean, he's still like he's striking out twenty seven percent of hitters. He's got a four seven six ERA at three sixty seven expected ERA. That's not awful, you know, by any means. Yeah. I think you could play either pitcher from this game. I think you could play either offense. It's all sides. We got a quad pronger. Yeah. Four pronger.
I mean, honestly, is there any side that you don't think is in play here? Not that anything looks amazing, but the pit, the thing is what makes it a true, like quad pronger is both pitchers are so cheap. You don't, you don't quote pitchers are so cheap and it's, It's not like the offenses are super pricey either. We're playing DFS. Price tags mean a lot. So that's why for me. I like the pitching more than I like the bats, though. Yeah, I hate this park, though, man.
That's why I like the pitching more. Yeah. I mean, you want to talk about flipping the build completely. You get off all the expensive pitchers. You play Matthews and Jones. I mean, you're looking at lineups where you're playing all the expensive hitters. And, man, like we saw it yesterday. You get forties from Caglianone and Chourio. You need those guys. Like that's going to beat the pitching. Yeah. Awesome stuff there. Let's move on to the next game. Let's move on to the next game.
We got Andrew Painter, who painted a masterpiece a couple games ago, heading into L.A. To take on Reid Detmers. I saw some Reid Detmers love in the chat, but I also see the Phillips just popping off over on SaberSim. They project very well over there. Interested to get your take on this. Are you going lefty-lefty with the Phillips, or are you going to take Reid Detmers in this game, who's been balling at home? Talk to me, Phillips, going lefty-lefty.
About as far away from home as they can go to take on these Angels and read Detmers. I hate to even do this because you're thinking I'm just messing with you, but I'm not, I swear. And I hate to even say it now because I just got the chat going. I know it even gets you going. As rare as that last four pronger was, we got another one right away. Yeah. Wow. I don't know if we've ever had a four pronger.
Now we've got, that's what I'm saying. Back to that's yeah. It's very rare occurrence. That's baseball. You know what it's like a couple of days ago we saw, or like last week we saw PCA lead off a game with a lead on the first pitch, hit a lead off Homer and then win the game with a walk off. It had never been done in, like, fifty-some years. And then a Arozarena did it, like, a few days later. So that's like this right now.
The rarity of baseball. Hold on. What happened? Sorry, I didn't hear the first part of that. That's a trip reference. Like a week ago, ten days ago, PCA let off the game. Let off a game. I can't remember what game. First pitch, lead off Homer. He ended the game with a walk-off Homer. That hadn't been done in, like, fifty years. That was against my boy, the White Sox. Okay. Yeah. Hadn't been done. Yeah. Okay.
Hadn't been done in how a fifty minute fifty years and then a Arozarena did the same thing like a week later. Oh, on Saturday. Yeah, I did that on Saturday. I think exactly. So that's like this with the back to back four prongers. You never see him. It's been years since we've had one and now you get back to back four prongers. All right. I'm picking you up. Let me make my case. Let me make my case and you tell me where I'm going.
Here we go. Here we go. Detmers, I think, is probably the best piece of this game. Much prefer lefties against... Yeah, he's good. And lefties against Philly, you can play because their best hitters are lefties. The guys you're worried about. Harper and Schwarber. Stott. Marsh. And their lineup gets kind of weak towards the bottom. So Detmers is the obvious case. That said, he's not good enough where... You can't play a real good offense against him. And Philly is a real good offense.
We just saw them destroy Bryan Woo on a smaller slate. They won that slate. Wu is at least as good. He's a better pitcher overall to me than Detmers. But Detmers has the lefty thing going for him, which means a lot. And then Painter, I don't think he's really good. And I think I like the pitchers from the last game more than him. But he's $6,500 in the dream spot against the Angeles.
We've used right hand of pitchers against the Angeles all year. And then I'll go back to him just not being good. And the Angeles, they're not great either, but they can hit bad righties if that bad righty isn't good that day. So I don't see why they couldn't get to Painter here if he's off. I mean, I think you could play any side of this game. If I'm playing one lineup, probably playing none.
Probably Detmers is the only real strong consideration, but, yeah, that's how I feel. Does Painter have, like, ten-k strikeout upside? I would say in most matchups, no, but, like, we've seen crazy games against the Angeles, you know? Yeah, hot off the press is Josh Gillum as well and my boy Kevin Roth tweeting it out as well at the same time. I mean, it looks like there's a pop-up thunderstorm, but it looks like it's going to play. Sorry to encroach on your territory.
You good? Oh, man. I hate stealing your thunder and talking weather, but I just got the tweet, and I just was running with it, and I apologize. That's a good point. Braves penalties last night. Stale with a complete game shutout. Yeah. I mean, what can I say? I think the weather thing is all you now after that. I think he took the mantle. When the Rockies put up ten in the first, they won't bring in their studs, so...
The thing is, I think Rockies are the play. Moving on to the next game. How many games we got left? We only got two games left. Make sure to hit that like, hit that subscribe. Get over to shipitnation.com where you can win $45,000. Plus this NFL season is going to be a fun season over there. Got my boy Belman. Belman, is this your first first year at Ship It Nation in the NFL? When did you come over?
I came over like towards the latter half NFL last year. I don't have the NFL. All right. First full season then. We'll say that. Orioles. All right. This is another game or another matchup that's going to be interesting. Got the Orioles. Get the coveted Ballpark FactorsBallpark factors, also called park factors, measure how much a stadium raises or lowers scoring compared with an average park. Altitude, fence distances, foul territory and typical weather shape them, and some parks favor one side of the plate.Check whether a park factor is split by handedness. Some parks boost left-handed power while doing little for righties, and that split can change which hitters you stack.Full explanation ↗ in Sacramento. It's a legit AAA ball club. Brandon Young on the bump. Jacob Lopez on the hill for the Athletics. You said it. He's been pretty good this year. Orioles had a pretty good run in St.
Louis earlier in the week. Talk to me through this game because when I run a dry run over on SaberSim – excuse me, it just spits out Orioles and Braves left and right. But it sounds like you like Jacob Lopez. So with that being said, Jacob Lopez, $6,200. I think you're going to like him in some tournaments. But talk to me about this game. Orioles at Sacramento taking on the Athletics.
Yeah, I think Lopez is good enough to play him. I also think it's obviously, you know, massive ballpark for Baltimore. You can play the Orioles, too. I mean. No doubt the Orioles look good here. They're expensive. You get a bad Athletics bullpen. I mean, we've talked about that. Even if Lopez throws five good innings, you get four against that pen. That could be all you need. Plus, Lopez, he's good, but he gives up bombs. And, you know, I'm not afraid to use guys against him.
I just think he's too cheap at $6,200, which we have a lot of on this slate. So both sides in play there. And I kind of like the A's against Brandon Young. Brandon Young, not good. The A's, man, it's tough to want a full stack on a slate like this. But I think they go LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Full explanation ↗. And they've got upside in this park, just like the away team does. Their lineup, missing a ton of guys that they had at the beginning of the year.
Kurtz, Lange, Langeliers, Soderstrom, Ann Rooker, Ann Wilson. Like one through five in their lineup, basically. Wow. This is a triple A. This is a horror. I mean, I know this is the projected, but man. With Brandon Young. I mean. Yeah, that's true too. Yeah. So that's, yeah, that's all it is. But ultimately, yeah, I think it's all about, you know, Lopez versus the Orioles. I think Lopez is cheap enough where he's in play.
Baltimore is in a good enough spot where they're definitely in play. Baltimore right behind the Braves, or you got somebody else in front of Baltimore? Yeah. I think they're right with each other. I prefer the Braves, but I'm kind of worried that the Braves are going to be higher owned. But that said, I do prefer the Braves personally. What about Jacob Lopez versus Andrew Painter? $6,200 versus $6,500 Andrew Painter. Honestly, I think that's a toss up.
Give me Lopez, but you could play the matchup with Painter, too. Yeah, I think you said it a little bit earlier on the show, but there are some really, you know, some viable cheap arms. Jared Jones, Quinn Matthews, Lopez, Painter. It's going to be an interesting slate. All four of those guys, for sure. It's going to be an interesting slate. Hopefully it's much better than that one was the other night when Sasaki got me seven, whatever night that was, Tuesday or Wednesday.
All right, last game on the slate. Hopefully, Asia, now you're still in the house. Finally get to talk about Blade. I'll call him by his real name, Tidwell, taking on this Cattell Martellus Arizona Diamondback team. Cole Drake on the hill for San Francis. Another guy that no one has any idea who he is. He is a Southpaw. Drew Gilbert. Shout out to Drew Gilbert. Tennessee Vol National Championship legend going deep fly.
In the first inning last night to help propel my boy Matt to second place and to take home $25,000. Talk to me about this game. Bring us home, Matt. Diamondbacks at the Giants. This slate is full of this, and it's just another spot where you can play both sides of Tidwell versus Arizona. I mean, Tidwell coming off a really good start. He's been good in two out of his past three.
Got rocked by the Rockies in San Francis in the other one. So keep that in mind. But he's also another cheap pitcher in a good enough spot. I don't mind righties against Arizona, especially with no Marte. The bottom of this lineup falls off a cliff. On the same token, as I mentioned, Colorado shelled him two starts ago. Arizona still got some confident lefties. Newt Barr, obviously Corbin Carroll, Kepler. Moreno, righty, but been one of the best hitting catchers in baseball.
So, yeah, I think you could play either side there. And then from the – who's pitching for Arizona, remind me? Cole Drake. Yeah. I'm probably out on Drake and the Giants. There's pinch hit risk in San Francis here tonight for sure. I mean, any of the lefties in there you're safe with. I don't think Coltrane is particularly good, but ultimately, I don't really want to stack in this ballpark. There's better spots. I'm good. Yeah, you're good. We got the double Tennessee legend combo.
Blade Tidwell, another Tennessee legend, Matt. Might want to go Tennessee, Tennessee again. Get you some Drew Gilbert. Get you some Blade Tidwell. That sounds like a Tennessee name. Which one? Blade Tidwell? Blade Tidwell, yeah. Yeah. Nice old Tennessee name. I doubt he's from Tennessee, but you never know. All right. Oh, man, that was twelve games. I feel like we flew through it. Appreciate each and every one of you tuning in. We got enough games tonight.
All right, Matt, give me I want your top three pitchers on the slate. I think I know who they're going to be. He's definitely from Tennessee, by the way. Say what? He's definitely from Tennessee. You had to look that up. Because he was obviously from Tennessee, and you had to say for some reason he didn't think he was, but whatever. Oh, no, he's from Loretto, Tennessee? All right, trivia question. All right, trivia question then.
Someone put in the chat, who else in the major leagues is from Loretto High School playing right now? Ah, dang it, I just gave it away. Pitch this week. Find it out real quick. There is somebody out there. All right, top three pitchers on the slate. Cease. Cease, number one. We'll go one at each price range. Okay. Cease, Detmers. Detmers, number two. Oh, not number two, just in that price range. Right. Like, I'd play, you know, if you could play Schlittler over.
You know what I mean? Or you could play two cheap guys. Yeah. And then I'm going to say Lopez. Yeah, you got to have a Lopez team tonight. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Top three stacks on the board not named Atlanta or Baltimore. Okay. I like that Twins call a lot. So we'll go Twins. We talked about the Rockies. I like them quite a bit. Man. Twins, Rockies, White Sox. Yeah. White Sox. In. In. Home run call. I'm taking an easy call.
I got a guaranteed one. Who? You go. No, no, no. You go. You're not going to take my guy, but I got a guaranteed. So who you got? I'm not taking your guy, but this guy hits two tonight. Day off, just like Chourio yesterday. Feeling good today. Ronald Acuña going to yard twice. Ooh. Ronald Acuña Jr.? Mm-hmm. I'm going to write that down. I'm going to take it. I got a guaranteed home run. Like, never been more confident in one.
I mean, it's not like it's like some off-the-wall dude. In that same game, batting third, possibly fourth, Hurter Goodman, Go in yard tonight. Parlay that. Run to the ticket counter to parlay that. I'm going to do it here in a minute. Appreciate each and every one of you tuning in. That'll do it for us on this front end. Hit that like. Hit that subscribe button. We certainly appreciate it. Good luck tonight in those contests.
We'll see you at the top of the leaderboards. For my guy, Weatherman Matt, $25,000 Matt. I'm ham. Good luck. Just ship.
