NASCAR DFS Straight Talk Wireless 400, 2026 | DraftKings Drivers, Dominators & Place Differential

Aired Sat Nov 7, 2026 Hosts NASCAR DFS Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami: Eric Schneck Runtime 18:39 Chapters 16 Views 210

From the archive. This breakdown is for the Saturday, November 7 NASCAR slate. Salaries, weather and picks were for that day.

The Short Version

Eric Schneck breaks down Homestead-Miami, where 267 laps create roughly 186.9 dominator points and favor using two potential dominators per lineup. Long-run practice speed matters most at this high tire wear track, and Ryan Blaney led every long-run practice ranking. Tyler Reddick retained his primary car after practice damage and was not expected to start at the rear. Kyle Larson's championship cushion means he does not need to chase every lap led.

AJ Allmendinger is a popular play worth taking because of his Homestead record. Brad Keselowski starts last after hitting the wall during qualifying, giving him maximum place differential upside. Ryan Preece, Noah Gragson and Shane van Gisbergen also get approval from deeper starting positions. Joey Logano and Ty Gibbs bring strong practice speed and could be overlooked. Christopher Bell suits the high line, while Austin Cindric brings improving speed.

FadesAustin Hill, Michael McDowell, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Connor Zilisch, Erik Jones, Todd Gilliland, Justin Haley, Cole Custer, Riley Herbst, Ty Dillon, Cody Ware, John Hunter Nemechek, Casey Mears, J.J. Yeley, Chad Finchum

Plays Mentioned

PlayCallThe TakeAt
Called it his best Homestead car; the team repaired the primary car and he was not expected to start at the rear unless further work changed that. 6:27
DOMINATOR Liked from the pole for clean air and the opportunity to set the pace, although holding the lead is less certain. 8:14
Still a good play despite needing an unlikely championship turnaround. 8:14
Excellent Homestead ratings, but the championship cushion means he can defend his position rather than chase every lap led. 9:40
A good play with improving late-season speed and the highest qualifying position among the Fords and Team Penske cars. 10:07
Liked because running the high line at a high tire wear track suits him. 10:32
DOMINATOR A fantastic Homestead play after being fastest in every long-run practice ranking, with a car expected to be extremely fast. 11:32
FADE Still learning the Next Gen car and being skipped this week. 12:13
FADE Explicitly being skipped this week alongside Austin Hill. 12:13
Worth taking a chance on because of his A-plus track ranking. 12:31
Worth a chance after a strong recent run, with an opportunity to finish positively before parting ways with the team. 13:07
Trackhouse appears to be gaining speed, but enthusiasm for taking a chance on him remains limited. 13:33
An affirmative play with clear willingness to take a chance on him Sunday. 13:33
Leaning toward a fade after middle-of-the-road practice speed and perceived turmoil at RFK. 14:07
Strong high tire wear ability and solid ratings come with a warning about slower long-run practice speed. 14:07
Liked as a potentially overlooked driver after showing speed throughout practice. 14:46

DFS tools to sharpen your edge and everything you need in one place. It took me like a year and a half to remember our old tagline. Now we have these new taglines. I'll get there, boys. I'll get there, boys. Homestead Miami. This is, once again, our season finale. And I did want to mention...

3:07

Where am I going here the big guy this is my I believe my third full season of doing this and what not too many people know is it was never supposed to be me I was in the background helping the big guy and the big guy was supposed to be the one giving you these NASCAR insights each and every day and right before the very first race of his very first time doing NASCAR he got sick So I jumped over for that Daytona five hundred and I've been here ever since.

3:40

So big guy, I'm thinking about you on this on this third season finale I have in doing NASCAR DFS content with Ship It Nation. It's been fantastic. Homestead Miami Speedway, there are two hundred and sixty seven laps on depth for us on Sunday, which equals out to one hundred and eighty six point nine dominator points, roughly one hundred and eighty six point nine dominator points. And we will want to target those points. I'm recommending around two potential DominatorsDominators are NASCAR drivers who earn a large share of fantasy points from leading laps or recording fastest laps, meaning the quickest time among drivers on a particular lap. Before a race, the term describes candidates for that role.Compare practice averages over several consecutive laps and performance at similar tracks. 4:18

You could probably get away with one if that one really goes away with it.

4:25

Uh but we have a group of like four or five I think maybe even six uh who I think all have a legitimate shot of winning this thing on Sunday and I think you want two of those per lineup let me go ahead and head back here to my share this tab and since it is the final race of the season we're going to show off the stone oh just kidding that's the wrong sport There we go. The Stone, two point oh.

4:53

What I really want to focus on here is the practice data. So once again, with the Stone 2.0 point oh, you can say show practice or you can turn practice off. You can turn practice off. Easy for me to say. Or you can turn it on. And the NASCAR Cup Series did have rough like an hour long session on Friday. It was like an old school happy hour. It was fantastic.

5:19

This is a high tire wear mile and a half racetrack long run is king with the Stone 2.0 point oh you're very quickly able to sort the ranking of all of these different the twenty lap the fifteen lap the thirty lap you know um blaney gibbs reddick briscoe legato would be your top five in the in the twenty lap In the twenty-five lap, Laney, Gibbs, Redick, Noah Gregson, Dana Hanvill, right? This is a fantastic tool to help you build your Player PoolA player pool is the set of players you consider using in your DFS lineups for a slate, the games or events included in a contest. The term can also mean everyone available to select in that contest.Keep a replacement beside each uncertain player, noting the salary and position you need. 5:52

Feel free to sort away. You even have a little hand builder there on the right-hand side. It's perfect. The major news coming out of practice was... Tyler Reddick smashing into Zane Smith, thirty eight, I believe, while trying to get on Pit Road. It's very strange. They did not go to a backup car. There was significant damage, but they did not want to go to a backup car because Redick felt crazy fast.

6:27

In his post-practice interview, he said it was his best car he's ever felt at Homestead. That's why they decided to fix it up. He will not be going to the rear of the field unless they fix it up now again after the fact. But as of now, he's not going to the rear, and he is in love with his car. Any free thing or rather, there's really nothing else in practice. That was really the major storyline other than good, good data for us to get.

6:56

So Reddick got into the wall, but the team fixed it and is still using the primary car. And.

7:05

We have good data to sort like I said the stone show practice all of these columns are sortable highly highly highly recommended uh once again it is the final NASCAR race of the season which means a champion will be kinged or rather crowned tomorrow uh and for all purpose it's supposed to be and should be Tyler larson uh if everything goes according to plan he could have this championship wrapped up by the end of stage one tomorrow so uh potentially anticlimactic there but it did come down to the last race of the season uh and uh a pre um an early congratulations to young money on his assumed $2,000 and twenty six NASCAR Cup Series championship.

7:55

Now let's go ahead and break down the starting lineup of Sunday's championship race at Homestead, Miami. Starting on the front row, we have Chase Briscoe and Denny Hamlin, Joe Gibbs racing teammates. Love me some Chase Briscoe. He's getting a lot of potential OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Uh starting Starting PositionStarting position is a driver's assigned spot in the NASCAR starting order. In DFS, the official starting position used for scoring determines place differential, the number of positions gained or lost between the start and finish. Before lock, check both the starting position listed for scoring and any penalties sending a driver to the rear. They may describe different spots.Read the full definition of Starting Position is great um you get that nice clean air and you can set the pace uh will he be able to hold on to that um lead that's another question but it's a great way to start uh denny hamlin is still technically in the championship fight but he needs basically like denny's tires to fall off before even going remotely near the racetrack to have a shot at winning this thing so um denny still a good play for today just he ain't gonna be a championship winning one uh tyler reddick we spoke on Tyler larson the championship leader the championship favorite is starting fourth uh he is fantastic here at homestead as judged by the a pluses across the board for Tyler

9:00

Larson uh but still he doesn't have to go quote unquote balls to the wall this time the um Oh, I lost my train of thought. Oh, sorry, guys. He does not have to go balls to the wall because he can wrap this thing up at the end of stage one. He has over a... Let me pull up the points here so we can see what exactly we're at. Standings... Share this tab instead... Sixty seven points over Bell. Seventy over Hamlin.

9:40

These are the only three who have a shot at winning the championship. Even if Briscoe would lead every lap tomorrow, he couldn't win the title. So Larson doesn't need to go crazy. He doesn't need to lead every single lap. He doesn't need to. He just needs to defend. So for all purposes, Tyler Larson will be your $2,000 and twenty six NASCAR Cup Series champion. Row three, Austin Sindrick and Christopher Bell. Love me some Christopher Bell.

10:07

And Sindrick has had an uptick in speed to close this season off. He he was in the little spat last weekend with a break checking Carson Hosovar. Uh, and host of ours, not in the race this weekend. And Cendric is Cendric didn't pray check. He was the recipient of horse host of ours, break checks. So both great plays. I shouldn't say great plays, both good plays, uh, bell.

10:32

I like ripping the top at a high tire of a racetrack suits Christopher Bell so much. And Cendric has really been on a hot streak lately and is the highest qualifying Ford and team Penske vehicles. So, Good on Cedric, uh, chase Elliot and William Byron up next. Uh, I forget who, and I apologize in advance, a chatter last week in Discord asked my thoughts on William Byron. And I was like, eh, you know, he's been, he's hasn't done anything all season.

11:02

I don't think he's going to start doing it now. And well, I was a big fat liar. Has he absolutely crushed that race? Uh, and does that mean I'm going back to him again this week? No, I'm probably not. Just because there are some other plays around, but his power rankings do look great. Same for Chase Elliott. He's bees across the board, but his long run practice doesn't look the best. So I'm probably not diving into that. Next up, we have Ryan Blaney and Daniel Suarez.

11:31

Ryan Blaney.

11:32

Fantastic play amazing at homestead was the fastest in every long form practice session blaine you should have a rocket ship on Sunday night mi amigo was decent at the early runs of practice but then kind of fell off as practice went on um probably not too big on the mb go especially when he's starting in what tenth yeah probably not a big fan of me and me go on a Sunday afternoon next step let me scroll down here Next up, you have Austin Hill, who participated in his final NASCAR O'Reilly Series race just a few hours ago.

12:13

He's getting the hang of it. I don't think he's going to get the hang of it on Sunday at Homestead, but he is getting the hang of being a next-gen driver. Still, no real love there for me. Same goes for Michael McDowell. No love there for me either, skipping them both this week.

12:31

Alex bowman bowman the showman has an a-plus track rank so you can never ignore that um decent I I he's losing his crew chief to shane van gisbergen next year so I'm not necessarily sure how that's gonna go but as far as Sunday goes trying to end on a positive note sure why not take a chance on alex Belman uh josh barry and ross chastain barry's the one who got in trouble alongside of carson hosovar because he break checked as well last week He didn't get suspended from his team like Josef Hart did, but he did receive some issues there.

13:07

No issues taking a chance on Josh Berry. He's been on a generational heater for him and for that team. They're also parting ways at the end of the season, so I'm sure for everybody they would love to end it on a positive note. No issues there. Where's my... Corey, Ross Chastain and Corey Heim, Ross Chastain.

13:33

Eh track house seems to be getting a little bit faster so I don't know if you want to take the chance on mellow man be my guest I'm probably not going to go over my moon for him corey heim yup I am uh I'm a big proponent of heim time and that means no different on Sunday so love me taking a chance on corey heim let me check my messages to make sure I didn't miss anything and I didn't perfect right I want to make sure I didn't miss some like NBA news or something because there's a game tipping off here in a few minutes.

14:07

Chris Buescher and Bubba Wallace. I normally love Chris Buescher, but he was kind of ho-ha middle of the road in practice. RVK seems to be a little bit of turmoil, probably going to FadeTo fade a player is to leave him out of your lineups on purpose, usually because you expect him to be popular or you think he is a poor play.Fade with a reason, not a feeling. If you can't say why a popular player will disappoint, you're probably just giving away points.Read the full definition of Fade him. Bubba Wallace, B's and A's. He rips the top a little bit slow in late run practice, so buyer beware there. But he is really good at high tire wear racetracks. Joey Logano and Ty Gibbs, both of these drivers were fast, uncharacteristically so. Joey Logano was fast his entire session.

14:46

And the young Gibbs really picked up speed towards the end of his practice session. So Like them both. I think they're both probably overlooked, and I like them both. Ricky Stenhouse Jr., that's a no for me dog. Connor Zilich, sorry bud, that's a no for me dog. Eric Jones and Todd Gilliland, both no for me dogs. Justin Haley and Zane Smith. Actually, Justin Haley is a no for me, dog. Justin Haley and Zane Smith is a yes for me, dog.

15:14

Zane Smith, nothing really crazy to write home about, but his practice speeds kind of stand out in the world of red. You have him at seventeenth for the five, thirteenth for the ten, and fifteenth for the fifteenth. As far as ranking goes, and that's good for this school, right? So, hey, no issues there with Zane Smith. Cole Custer. No, sorry, Cole.

15:43

Aj alma dinger yes the dinger is fantastic at homestead love me some dinger a lot of people will be playing the dinger and I'm okay with that because I'm gonna be one of those people playing the dinger uh riley herbst and ty dillon no and no ryan priest and noah gregson yes and yes and shane van gisberg accounts for this as well uh ryan priest middle of the road here c pluses uh should be able to pass cars and have a positive pd day uh noah gregson looked decent in long run practice like fourth uh are there a lot of cars who took long run practice no but he did and he looked good for it so no problems there um Cody Ware, no.

16:30

No. John Hunter Nivacek, no. Casey Mears, no. JJ Yaley, no. Is he a trend here? Chad Fincham, no. And Brad Keselowski, a resounding yes. He he got into the into the wall during his qualifying lap so that means he is starting dead last which gives us all of the Place DifferentialPlace differential is a driver’s scored starting position minus their finishing position.
