Shows / NFL/ Friday, September 11, 2026
From the archive. This breakdown is for the Friday, September 11 NFL slate. Salaries, weather and picks were for that day.
Latest NFL show →Zach Trivett builds the initial Week 1 cash pool around Michael Mayer ($2,900 DraftKings; $4,600 FanDuel) and Jahmyr Gibbs, treating both as locks. Brock Bowers' absence makes Mayer the salary relief that enables premium players elsewhere. Justin Herbert is the preferred quarterback on both sites against Arizona, with Kyler Murray and Trevor Lawrence offering cheaper alternatives. Bijan Robinson is the preferred DraftKings partner for Gibbs, while De'Von Achane also draws strong interest.
Tre Tucker provides receiver value, while Ja'Marr Chase is the preferred expensive receiver without being mandatory. DraftKings offers numerous underpriced midrange receivers and permits a second tight end when needed to fit the stars. FanDuel creates tougher decisions at running back, with MarShawn Lloyd offering cheap access to volume without Josh Jacobs. Chris Olave stands out at receiver, and Titans defense is the clear FanDuel choice. These are Friday preferences subject to weekend updates.
| Play | Call | The Take | At |
|---|---|---|---|
| CORE | A cash lock on both sites without Brock Bowers at $2,900 on DraftKings and $4,600 on FanDuel, freeing salary for premium players. | 5:17 | |
| CORE | Preferred quarterback on both sites against Arizona, with a near twenty-nine-point team total and elite projected raw points, though not an absolute lock. | 6:02 | |
| VALUE | Acceptable on DraftKings if the $300 savings from Herbert is needed; Herbert remains preferred on FanDuel. | 6:02 | |
| CORE | Clear lock on both sites because his projection separates from the field; prioritized ahead of Chase when salary forces a choice. | 6:35 | |
| CORE | Preferred DraftKings pairing with Gibbs and easy to fit with Mayer; still strong on FanDuel, where his salary limits other expensive pieces. | 6:59 | |
| ONE-OFF | Strong DraftKings alternative at $7,000 against Las Vegas in a dome, described as one of his best spots of the year. | 6:59 | |
| VALUE | A cheaper running-back alternative at $6,200 on DraftKings and $6,900 on FanDuel. | 7:23 | |
| ONE-OFF | In the DraftKings running-back pool behind the preferred Gibbs–Bijan build and Achane alternative. | 7:23 | |
| Considered fine, but unlikely to make the DraftKings cash build behind the preferred running backs. | 7:23 | ||

Clear your liftoff. What's going on, everybody? Welcome to the Cash GameA cash game is a contest that pays a large share of the field, usually close to half, the same flat prize. Fifty-fifties, double-ups and head-to-heads are the common cash games.Treat cash games as the steady base of your bankroll. Use one safe core across your cash entries on a slate, and save riskier ideas for tournaments.Full explanation ↗ Countdown. This is the first time doing the Cash Game Countdown as we've done the past couple of years. It's been Hoop and I talking cash games on Friday. This is now going to be a solo show. It's going to be prerecorded, and it's not going to be that long. It's going to be maybe ten minutes, maybe fifteen minutes. There's no time limit, but it's going to be quick.
We're going to go position by position like we have in the past. Through DraftKings, then we'll go position by position through FanDuel. This is a first look, though. This is my pretty much first look for the main slates, all of our content. We'll be up on the site Friday, Saturday, everything will be up. And then, of course, Sunday morning, Tambo Hoop and myself Definitely should tune into that show. That show's not just cash games, it's tournaments, but you get all of our thoughts.
That's where all of my thoughts, game by game, player by player, come on the Sunday show. So we're going to establish a little bit of a player pool. If I think there's a lock, like Brock Bowers has ruled out this week. Michael Mayer is a very strong play on both sides. Sight's probably a lock. We'll talk about that. But it's mainly a player pool, and then you will get four core plays this on DraftKings and FanDuel. Four cash games for myself over here.
NFL, go down to the Slate Station, and you'll also be able to see Tambo and Belman do DraftKings position-by-position, quarterback, running back, receiver, tight end. They add notes and establish kind of like a player pool to have. Hoop has his actual DraftKings player pool. With ownerships there. Also, core reports from a lot of the guys on DraftKings. Ham has you covered on FanDuel. The Stone, a very cool new tool that we have over here.
Can virtual hand build, can plug in some people, see how much salary you have left remaining. OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Full explanation ↗. Rio on the value report, very few sharper out there than our man Rio. Obviously, the normal stone that we will go and that we share usually on Sunday mornings, projections, ownership on both sites, Showdown (Captain and MVP)NFL Showdown lets you select players from one football game, including eligible quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, tight ends, kickers and team defenses. Your Captain or MVP receives the contest's scoring multiplier.Compare complete lineups with different players in the multiplier slot. Leaving salary unused can reduce duplication, but do not sacrifice meaningful scoring potential just to make your lineup unusual.Full explanation ↗ content, everything you need to be successful in the NFL streets right here. Ship It Nation dot com. How you get in. You can get in for three forty nine for the whole year.
Again, that's all showed on content. The Thanksgiving slates, Christmas slates, access to the Discord, access to SaberSim. Definitely the best deal out there compared to the industry. Everything you need is in this one.
Package we also do have some other ones though bottom left join the nation you can get in if you have not tried us at all I think trying out the five days for nineteen dollar trial is pretty smart because you'll get college football on Saturday you'll get MMA on Saturday there's still NASCAR going on there's still MLB going on of course NFL you get SaberSim with that you get access to the Discord but if you do want a chance to win $45,000 plus in cash and prizes You have to be an all access member.
So that's a monthly right here, a starter monthly, an annual member or an NFL only member again, which is up here, three forty nine. We do have single sport options as well. Everything you need. We have you covered and we have different options for you to join over here at Ship It Nation. Let's share our partner optimizer in SaberSim. Again, a lot of those packages do have SaberSim as an add-on. You can also just add do NFL with SaberSim.
SaberSim doesn't even offer single sport packages. So another added benefit over here. Again, we're going to go DraftKings and then FanDuel position by position. I just wanted to say like a disclaimer again, this is Friday. A lot can change to Sunday. I had my worst NFL year last year.
And part of that is I've kind of been stuck in my own process kind of for the past been playing DFS for over a decade I don't think I've made enough changes or at least try to think about my process see what other people are doing and adjust more on the fly so this year um maybe I go a little more I know ball stuff you obviously need to know projections We're right now going to be sharing when we go through this Sabresim and Shippenation.
We're going to take the average of both of our projections, the average of the OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Full explanation ↗. Again, if you're on the starter or above pack, you do have that option. I also subscribe to other sites in the industry to look at what people are doing, other projections, look at my own stuff. So this is going to be my player pool as of now on Friday. Changes can be made, though, before Sunday.
And again, get over to Shippenation and check out the updated core plays if stuff changes Sunday morning. And it changes late. I will take the chat, but always be refreshing that. Uh, yeah, again, I think the big overall news is, uh, uh, Brock Bowers was ruled out. I believe it was Monday or Tuesday completely changes the whole slate. It was already very soft in terms of salary. Now we got a very strong tight end in mayor at only two point $9,000.
I think he has a lock at tight end on both sites. Uh, And yeah, again, it's two nine. So that means we will have a lot of salary to spend and we can't even spend at some positions like $7,000's the most at quarterback, a couple of running backs in a tier of their own. We've already seen Puka and JSN and stuff play. So only so many receivers we can spend on Michael Mayer is a lock.
Then we're going to go to the quarterback position. I'm going to always sort by value, which is projected my projection and the salary, um, Baker into it. So you divide projection and salary. We have Justin Herbert. Again, when I'm saying we, that's the average of Shippenation and Sabresim. Very bullish on him. I mean, if this is the numbers we're looking at, it's hard for me to get away from Herbert. It's a little closer gap.
For me personally on the numbers but I still think I mean you get the nut matchup against the Cardinals who are going to be awful this year Chargers implied for twenty nine points almost I think he's a very strong option if you needed to save three hundred to Trevor Lawrence or six hundred to Kyler Murray I'd be fine with it right now I'm planning on playing Herbert he's not a stone cold lock though but yeah like Herbert alone we have projected as the highest even above Burrow hertz lamar even guys priced above him so great matchup more than Likely right now if the slate locked I'd be playing Herbert going
To the running back position because we all have all that money to spend I mean man sorting by projection gibbs projection is out of this world you can see OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Full explanation ↗ fifty percent highest on the slate I think he's a clear lock and load and then from there You have to play two running backs, obviously, on DraftKings, which is the option to play a third. Bijan looks strong. I think we have enough money on the slate. Again, when you play Meyer, we'll get to some other value throughout.
I think pairing Gibbs and Bijan is very easy to do. It feels very nice. Two best running backs in football. If you don't want to go there, I think Achan's fine at $7,000 against Vegas. I mean, maybe a little better than fine. This is one of the best spots he'll have all year in the dome. I think he is a strong play. Good with JT, Brees at six-two, Marshall Lloyd. I'm probably cutting it off about right here.
I guess Henry and – there, Henry and Saquon are fine, but probably not getting there in Cash GameA cash game is a contest that pays a large share of the field, usually close to half, the same flat prize. Fifty-fifties, double-ups and head-to-heads are the common cash games.Treat cash games as the steady base of your bankroll. Use one safe core across your cash entries on a slate, and save riskier ideas for tournaments.Full explanation ↗. But I think it's mainly Gibbs and then probably Bijan, but if not Bijan, probably A-Chan and then JT in play. But I don't think we're going all three Spending UpSpending up means choosing a higher-priced player over a cheaper alternative, using more of your lineup's salary budget at that spot. You may also hear it called paying up.Build a version with your preferred expensive player and another without. Before choosing, check whether either version relies on a cheap player whose expected role still depends on unresolved injury news.Full explanation ↗ running backs. Brees Hall a better price tag, and then Marshall Lloyd with no Josh Jacobs. Week one looks pretty good as well at . To the receiver position, a little more difficult than I think the first two.
But again, another big beneficiary with no Brock Bowers is Trey Tucker. Only $4,000 grades out very well under the point per dollar column. Number two, Ja'Marr Chase as the highest as the highest salary. Receiver on the slate. He's coming in number two with a very good projection right here. So I think he is strong. I do prefer or I will prioritize Gibbs over Chase, but a decision might be Chase and Bijan if you only play one there.
Next, we got Chris Olave, Ladd McConkey, T. Higgins, Garrett Wilson. I'm fine with all these guys. Amin Ra, sure. I mean, the receiving room is just so underpriced. Like Ladd should not be five nine going down a little bit. Devante Smith should not be six point $6,000. Parker Washington should not be five point $6,000. Zay Flowers six four. There's just so much mid-tier goodness that are underpriced. So I do think receiver is tough. Trey Tucker looks really strong for value.
Chase really strong if I'm Spending UpSpending up means choosing a higher-priced player over a cheaper alternative, using more of your lineup's salary budget at that spot. You may also hear it called paying up.Build a version with your preferred expensive player and another without. Before choosing, check whether either version relies on a cheap player whose expected role still depends on unresolved injury news.Full explanation ↗. But a plethora of guys in between that I'm good playing. And I meant to say from the top, this is I'm not used to doing solo shows. It's actually going a little better than I than I envisioned. So I'll take that. But yeah, there's hiccups along the way or sometimes I run out of things to say or whatever. I'm not used to this. I appreciate you hanging along, though.
And I do appreciate the like button as well. Helps us out a ton. Tight end, I already touched on it, Michael Mayer. I do think, though, like if you are trying to play Ja'Marr Chase, Bijan, and Gibbs, it is possible. But for flex, you'd have to go Marshall Lloyd or maybe even cheaper. Tight end strong. I do think double tight end could be in play this week in Cash GameA cash game is a contest that pays a large share of the field, usually close to half, the same flat prize. Fifty-fifties, double-ups and head-to-heads are the common cash games.Treat cash games as the steady base of your bankroll. Use one safe core across your cash entries on a slate, and save riskier ideas for tournaments.Full explanation ↗. Dalton Schultz, Jawan Johnson, LaPorta, Andrews, Hawkins. I'm fine with all of these guys.
Don't really have too much of a preference. It'd kind of be like, what fits? How much money do I have? Because if you are playing double tight end, you're doing it for the other positions. But Mayer is one that will be a staple on my teams. Going to defense, nothing really will stand out too, too much as locks. I think looking at the four defenses that are all double-digit OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Full explanation ↗, I think that's probably where I'm more Likely to go. You have different tiers.
Jakes, three, four. Then the Raiders, two, nine. Jets, two, five. Browns, two, one. Fine with them all. Obviously, you don't love playing the Browns against the Jaguars, but defense is very volatile. If it gets you all the Spending UpSpending up means choosing a higher-priced player over a cheaper alternative, using more of your lineup's salary budget at that spot. You may also hear it called paying up.Build a version with your preferred expensive player and another without. Before choosing, check whether either version relies on a cheap player whose expected role still depends on unresolved injury news.Full explanation ↗, I'm fine doing it, but... When we get to FanDuel, which we're about to go to right now, I think there's more of a clear defense when talking there. Again, I do think FanDuel is a relatively similar slate as to DraftKings. Again, we're going to sort by value.
We're going to go right to the tight end position. Michael Mayer, very strong, four point $6,000. I think he is going to be a plug and play for me. Let me just go over here right now. Yeah, I really just don't see how you can get around playing Mayer at a very cheap price tag. Allows you to Spending UpSpending up means choosing a higher-priced player over a cheaper alternative, using more of your lineup's salary budget at that spot. You may also hear it called paying up.Build a version with your preferred expensive player and another without. Before choosing, check whether either version relies on a cheap player whose expected role still depends on unresolved injury news.Full explanation ↗ for other studs that you want to play. Tight end, I think it is. Let me go over there. Or not tight end quarterback.
I think it is relatively similar to DraftKings. I mean, Herbert almost as projected for the most raw points on the slate without even being close to the highest price. So I think Justin Herbert is very strong on both sites. It's a closer gap though, to a Joe Burrow. Kyler still four hundred less favorite at home can use his legs. So I'd be fine with that. I'm probably just going Herbert over Trevor Lawrence right now.
Tyler Schuch, I'm not sure we need to do that with the value we have. So more than Likely, I'm playing Herbert. Don't really see finding six hundred for Burrow. Probably Kyler if I wouldn't go. Justin Herbert. Going over to the running back position, a little more tough. I guess not a little more tough. You're playing Gibbs, I think. I mean, again, his projection is out of this world. He's going to be a staple on both sides. A lot of people will play him.
If you don't play him, I think you're pretty much paying the RakeRake is the share of entry fees the site keeps as its fee instead of paying it out as prizes. It is the gap between total entry fees and the total prize pool.Compare rake between contests you would enter anyway. A slightly higher rake can be worth it in a softer field, but when the fields look similar, take the contest that keeps less.Full explanation ↗, even if it doesn't end up that way. Bijan, another strong play. Again, if you do that, though, it's harder to Spending UpSpending up means choosing a higher-priced player over a cheaper alternative, using more of your lineup's salary budget at that spot. You may also hear it called paying up.Build a version with your preferred expensive player and another without. Before choosing, check whether either version relies on a cheap player whose expected role still depends on unresolved injury news.Full explanation ↗ at some other positions, like a Ja'Marr Chase or something at receiver. He's strong, though. And then, yeah, we're going to some value stuff. MarShawn Lloyd down here. I did want to mention four point $9,000. That's a very cheap price on FanDuel.
Makes a lot of sense, even though there's slight underdogs. No, Josh Jacobs had a lot of hype. If you're in the best ball streets, then DeAndre Swift, six, six, Brees Hall, six, nine, gente $7,000. He is going to play the matchups great and the price tag is good. So I'd be fine with him. Hampton, I'm fine playing Herbert and Hampton together in Cash GameA cash game is a contest that pays a large share of the field, usually close to half, the same flat prize. Fifty-fifties, double-ups and head-to-heads are the common cash games.Treat cash games as the steady base of your bankroll. Use one safe core across your cash entries on a slate, and save riskier ideas for tournaments.Full explanation ↗. Chase Brown at seven point $5,000. I do think running back two is tough on the slate.
And then you tend to play three running backs on FanDuel because a half point PPR versus full point. So running back is going to be a big decision on FanDuel. I think it's a little more difficult and more questions outside of Gibbs. Receiver, again, Ja'Marr Chase, the highest priced and still grades out as the best point per dollar. If you are playing Ja'Marr Chase, it's probably harder to spend up at too many RB twos or RB threes.
He's a great play, though, but I don't think a lock by any means. Amin Ra, three hundred less. If you can't get to chase, I'd be fine with. But it's mainly like a lot of a seven for a seven three. McConkie, Burden, Nico Collins like that. Twelve hundred is a long way.
Off of Ja'Marr Chase and it does go or it goes a long way and you're not really giving up you're giving up a decent amount of projection but man nico's the um the complete man can get you b john Robinson or a different build that way trey Tucker five six still cheap over here uh who else do we got uh Wondell Robinson, five point $3,000. Josh Downs, five, six. Receiver is pretty tough, I think, on this or on FanDuel. But one of Chase Olave looks strong.
Seven point $4,000, especially for Olave. Going to be trailing most of the game in the dome playing catch up. I think he is. He's a great play. Tight end, I already talked about it. I think you're playing Mayer and you're rarely ever playing two tight ends on FanDuel. So don't think that's even in the question. Play Mayer, move on. Mayer, Gibbs, again, is where I'd start. And then I was talking on defense. I think it's a little more apparent.
I mean, I think I'm just playing Titans defense. I'm usually not prioritizing it, but they're three point $2,000, which is one of the lowest on the slate. $3,000 is the stone min when it comes to defense on FanDuel.
So the Titans small favorites against the Jets at home at three point $2,000 just plug it in and move on in Cash GameA cash game is a contest that pays a large share of the field, usually close to half, the same flat prize. But again, it's not. Things change. Moving pieces.
I'm going to be way more open to getting off some of the stuff or I'm changing my process a little bit. Tournaments, Cash GameA cash game is a contest that pays a large share of the field, usually close to half, the same flat prize. Definitely tune in to our show. Hoop, Tambo and myself at nine a.m. Eastern. Definitely get over to Ship It Nation dot com. Again, three forty nine for the whole NFL season. Bottom left. Join the nation, though.
You can try out five days for nineteen dollars. You can find a single sport monthly. Core one hundred hundred lineups and SaberSim you're able to build. I think starter is the best deal, though. Not too much more allows you to build four hundred more lineups. Also gets you SaberSim projections, which allow you to take to like the average from Ship It Nation and SaberSim like we've done before.
Portfolio diversification if you're playing GPP (Guaranteed Prize Pool)A GPP is a tournament whose prize pool is guaranteed to pay out in full even if the contest does not fill. Payouts are steep: a small group at the top wins most of the money. Before you enter a tournament lineup, ask how it finishes first, not just how it cashes. If you cannot name that scenario, rebuild it.Full explanation ↗ contest flashback to see what the pros are doing in all the contests you absolutely cannot beat it this is the best time of the year appreciate everyone um watching again this is the cash game countdown this will be out every Friday um sometime before like six p.m eastern is my is my goal try and fire it most in the mornings I'm on mountain time though sometimes we'll be out in the afternoon sometimes we'll be out in the morning But it'll be out on Friday, and then we'll be back Sunday with all of our final thoughts and all of our content will be up, of course.
Appreciate it. Hit that like, hit that subscribe on the way out. That's going to do it. I am Titletown. Good luck this weekend. Be safe. Peace.
