The Short Version

Austin Hanson and Scott Gyiraszin break down Tuesday’s nine-game slate with Jesus Luzardo ($10,500) as the favorite pitching pivot off popular Gerrit Cole and MacKenzie Gore. Cole is preferred to Gore, whose ownership and pitch-count volatility invite reduced exposure. Sean Burke offers tournament strikeout upside despite poor recent form. Connor Prielipp provides salary relief, while Grayson Rodriguez draws split opinions; Eduardo Rodriguez and Eric Lauer round out the broader pool.

The White Sox stack attacks Ronel Blanco and a taxed Houston bullpen, while the Cubs stack combines recent power with hot, humid weather and wind blowing out at Wrigley. Dodgers lefties join those Chicago offenses at the top, with Milwaukee close behind. Expensive Baltimore stacks remain attractive at reduced ownership. Texas mini-stacks and selected Minnesota fillers help construction. Pete Alonso, William Contreras and Tristan Peters receive explicit home run calls.

Plays Mentioned

PlayCallThe TakeAt
SP Preferred to Gore against a strikeout-heavy Angels lineup, although recent pitch counts create some concern. 11:40
SP Favorite pitcher at $10,500 because his recent form and strikeout production offer a lower-owned alternative to Cole and Gore. 12:09
SP At $8,500, his strikeout potential makes him a tournament pivot from Gore despite three disappointing starts. 13:18
SP An $8,200 contrarian tournament option whose recent success offsets an unfavorable projection relative to Gore. 13:42
FADE Walk problems and the Coors Field setting make him an arm to avoid. 15:14
SP A secondary $6,200 option when salary relief is needed for expensive bats, despite concerns about recent performance. 15:44
SP An appealing value arm behind an opener against Detroit, with enough strikeouts and potential bulk innings to chase a win. 17:32
SP Remains in the pitching pool, but heavy ownership, recent disappointments and inefficient pitch counts favor reduced exposure. 18:52
SP Opinions are split, but his $7,000 salary and strikeout upside against the Yankees earn him a place in the broader pool. 18:52
FADE Poor underlying metrics and limited strikeouts make cheaper alternatives preferable. 19:17
FADE Too expensive against Minnesota for the strikeout upside he offers. 20:06
Tigers FADE Recent production against left-handed pitching is too weak to compete with the slate’s better offensive spots. 21:40
Twins IN PLAY Opinions are split, but a Jenkins-Lee-Clemens mini-stack is specifically planned for one lineup despite respect for Troy Melton. 24:08
Marlins FADE Full stacks are a sell at high ownership against Dobnak’s ground balls despite cheap salaries and a weak opposing bullpen. 25:27
Royals Individual lefties receive interest, but full-stack enthusiasm is limited and opinions differ on the game. 26:00
The preferred Marlins hitter carries less pinch-hit risk than their other lefties, but expected ownership and strikeouts limit enthusiasm. 28:33
ONE-OFF One of the preferred individual bats from the Royals-Marlins game rather than a reason to prioritize a full stack. 29:16
ONE-OFF One of the two favorite individual plays from the Royals-Marlins game. 29:16
LEVERAGE Preferred to Kyle Stowers at $3,900 because of the salary savings and lower ownership. 29:39
Cubs TOP STACK A favorite low-owned stack against Robert Gasser with hot, humid conditions, wind blowing out and affordable bottom-order bats. 30:28
Brewers TOP STACK Right-handed bats against fly-ball pitcher Matthew Boyd make Milwaukee a favorite offense at lower ownership than Miami and Kansas City. 31:31
FADE The $4,400 lefty-lefty matchup is less appealing than the Cubs’ cheaper right-handed bats. 34:20
Athletics FADE An injury-depleted lineup offers too little appeal to stack against Gore even as leverage. 35:34
LEVERAGE An appealing shortstop one-off because the left-handed starter should discourage ownership before a vulnerable bullpen takes over. 36:11
LEVERAGE A low-owned left-handed piece who should get chances against the Athletics bullpen after Brady Basso exits. 37:11
Rangers IN PLAY Mini-stacks and positional fillers appeal against an Athletics bullpen game, with pinch-hit risk limiting full-stack enthusiasm. 38:23
LEVERAGE A contrarian spend-up bat with one-off power appeal against struggling Sean Burke. 38:23
White Sox TOP STACK Affordable lefties lead a favorite stack against struggling Ronel Blanco and a heavily used Houston bullpen. 38:47
Astros Burke’s struggles create some appeal, but opinions are split and Alvarez is the clearest individual target. 40:54
Orioles LEVERAGE Expensive salaries should suppress ownership in Coors, making cheaper pitching an appealing way to fit this stack. 42:53
ONE-OFF A power-hunting piece against Kyle Bradish rather than a commitment to a full Rockies stack. 44:17
ONE-OFF A left-handed power piece to consider against Bradish despite an expensive salary and possible eighth-place lineup spot. 44:48
HR CALL Called to homer against Gabriel Hughes and Colorado’s weak bullpen in Coors Field. 45:09
ONE-OFF An appealing power play against Bradish if he returns to the Rockies lineup. 45:56
Angels FADE Other offenses are preferred to using Angels bats as leverage against Cole. 46:34
Yankees IN PLAY An expensive secondary stack against Grayson Rodriguez that is more appealing on the night slate than the main slate. 48:25
Diamondbacks FADE There is no desire to attack Luzardo given his strong recent pitching. 49:53
Phillies FADE Even mini-stacks are passed over against Eduardo Rodriguez with so many stronger offensive environments available. 50:43
Dodgers TOP STACK Left-handed power against Michael McGreevy and a weak Cardinals bullpen puts this offense alongside the Chicago stacks. 51:38
Cardinals Right-handed bats Herrera, Walker and Baez are floated against Lauer without a clear full-stack recommendation. 52:02
ONE-OFF A $2,400 option if starting against McGreevy, with power against righties helping offset substantial pinch-hit risk. 53:44
HR CALL Selected to hit a home run from the Brewers side of the Wrigley game. 55:47
HR CALL The $3,000 lefty is called to homer against Blanco after a strong month against right-handed pitching. 56:38

1:06

So hopefully we see that Ship It Nation logo with a million dollars next to their name in the MLB streets here tonight. We got nine games on DraftKings starting at six forty, about thirty five minutes later than standard start time with the first game being a pretty important one. We're back in Wrigley after the Cubs just hit, I don't know, seventy five home runs. It felt like yesterday there. No Cubs, no cash was the story of yesterday's slate. We'll see how it goes.

1:34

Breaks down today as we talk through it here I got my guy g rising with me g rising I'll bring you in man happy Tuesday what's going on brother yeah always fun getting on here talking some uh baseball we're getting down to the nitty gritty here nades like shit I can't believe how fast this season has uh has gone through but hey after baseball's football I mean it's a great consolation prize so I'm not mad about it looking forward to uh The season winding down here.

2:01

Get the exciting times. We got division races coming up. We got all kinds of stuff. I mean, you've got season long. Long sweats that you maybe bet some prop bets. You know, those are coming down to an end. Maybe you're sweating out some of those. So, yeah, it's always fun when we roll in this time of year.

2:17

I mean, there ain't nothing much better, Nades, than truly is there anything better than sitting there doing a draft and sweating out some, you know, DFS baseball like through a night. I mean, you can get like three or four drafts in it. I mean, at least rounds of drafts if you want to do multiples at a time. But, yeah, I mean, good times. I mean, shit, here in Michigan, Nades, I don't know about Wisconsin.

2:38

The sun ain't, like, shining per se, but it is muggy as a mofo around here today. Like, shit is not even right. Man, your nuts are sticking to your leg and fucking sweating every time. But, yeah, looking forward to seeing what we can come up with. Yeah, my guy Stone knows.

3:05

Excited for NHL myself. We'll have you covered here. I do head up our NHL content over here. So looking forward to some NHL to kick off the year. Well, the prizes are pretty big for NHL until that one sport comes around where they play hockey on the hardwood and throw the ball through the hoop. So once that comes around, NHL contest sizes get kind of waxed. But yeah. This is pretty much Christmas morning.

3:28

What are we, eight days, seven days away from the Wednesday night Showdown (Captain and MVP)MLB Showdown draws your lineup from one baseball game. DraftKings' player pool can include hitters and pitchers, so your Captain decision can involve choosing between offensive production and pitching production.Compare complete lineups with different players in the multiplier slot. Leaving salary unused can reduce duplication, but do not sacrifice meaningful scoring potential just to make your lineup unusual.Full explanation ↗ game for the NFL and then obviously the full slate of games. That following Sunday there. And, yeah, we're right there. But, hey, we still got baseball to grind. We got nine good games here tonight. We got Coors Field. We got Wrigley win game. We got Kauffman Stadium. That's kind of the focal point. We got the Dodgers at home against the Cardinals here.

3:51

There's a lot to talk about on this slate here. Juice is in here. N.Y. Stiegel, Williams Burnitch, Postoner, Sean Solly. Everyone hit that like button. Hit the subscribe button. Helps us out a ton. G-Rise and broad slate overview. It's kind of two pitchers headlining the slate and then everybody else. It's MacKenzie Gore. Surprise, surprise. Another MacKenzie Gore chalk slate. Every time we're on the show, it feels like every Tuesday we talk about MacKenzie Gore and his fifty percent OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Full explanation ↗. Not going to change here tonight.

4:19

We just saw what Jacob deGrom did last night. Absolutely piss pounded this A's triple A lineup. I mean, I don't even know if I can give it triple A at this point with all their injuries they have, obviously. Right. Lang Leers is out. Kurtz is out. The rest of their whole squad is out. So they're trotting out a bunch of make them make a I guess create a player right roster out there.

4:41

So in terms of pitching, let's go ahead and pull our stone to point out up on the screen here. And let me go like this. Pitching, we'll go $1,000 and above here, G_Rizen. Talk about how you're going to approach Mackenzie Gorchok and then Garrett Cole. That's definitely the Cash GameA cash game is a contest that pays a large share of the field, usually close to half, the same flat prize. Fifty-fifties, double-ups and head-to-heads are the common cash games.Treat cash games as the steady base of your bankroll. Use one safe core across your cash entries on a slate, and save riskier ideas for tournaments.Full explanation ↗ pairing. Those two, $9,500, $8,800. However, there is expensive Cubs on the slate. The Brewers are priced up. We have the Baltimore Bats that are priced up.

5:09

We still have the Yankees and the Dodgers on the slate that are priced up. So that's going to allude to a lot of people wanting to go to that Kauffman Stadium game in terms of Miami and Kansas City, mainly on the Miami side there against Dobnak in that woeful Kansas City bullpen because it allows you to Spending UpSpending up means choosing a higher-priced player over a cheaper alternative, using more of your lineup's salary budget at that spot. You may also hear it called paying up.Build a version with your preferred expensive player and another without. Before choosing, check whether either version relies on a cheap player whose expected role still depends on unresolved injury news.Full explanation ↗ at pitcher. There are some cheaper guys I think you can play, but ideally – Your pitcher pool is going to be two of these guys here above $1,000.

5:35

Can E-Rod keep going wizard? I was on E-Rod in his last start, went out and posted a . Don't know it's the same matchup here against Philly, but he's been really, really good. Can he keep it rolling at . Sean Burke. I don't know what's happened to Sean Burke. Does he get back right against Houston here on the road? And then MacKenzie Gore, Garrett Cole, and Jesus Luzardo all the way up atop. Any interest in those pivots off of Cole and Gore?

6:01

And how are you going to approach MacKenzie Gore and Garrett Cole on tonight's slate? Yeah, I mean, definitely interesting. That's for sure. I mean, Cole, I mean, Gore – I'm talking about Cole. Cole is looking good. Gore last late, though, I do remember laughing. I was just wanting to see. He made it three point – three point two innings, gave up four earned runs in his – His last one out against the White Sox.

6:26

And I do remember, it does seem like he's been on all the damn slates that we've been on, it seems like recently. And I just remember saying, man, I don't like to mess with the White Sox. So I'll give him a break on that one because the White Sox are a team that I definitely don't like fooling with. But three starts ago, he did have the same athletic team. He didn't look too good. He only had fifteen points.

6:50

He ended up giving up a few runs and having only five Ks. So, I mean, just kind of looking, knowing he's going to be forty OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Full explanation ↗, I think, you know, I'd just be in the mindset just to FadeTo fade a player is to leave him out of your lineups on purpose, usually because you expect him to be popular or you think he is a poor play.Fade with a reason, not a feeling. If you can't say why a popular player will disappoint, you're probably just giving away points.Full explanation ↗ him, truthfully. Of the other guys, Cole, that'd be a little tougher for me, just knowing that the Angeles, with all the strikeouts they got against the righties, Cole hasn't been looking bad here in recent times. I just worry about the guy's pitch count.

7:17

He only had seventy nine pitches the start before he had ninety three, eighty seven, eighty two. So I do get a little bit concerned about that. And then the guy for me that I think I like the most is Luzardo. I think Luzardo is a guy that I mean, if he's not going to get any ownership, I'm going to be looking at Luzardo. I mean, he's been looking of all of the three. He's probably looked the best in the last month, too.

7:44

So he's looked he's looked really good, went seven innings, five and a half. Five point two, six inning, seven inning, seven inning, seven. I mean, almost all the starts he's been getting quality starts on FanDuel. I really like Luzardo here today. He's at $9,000's basically his last three starts, twelve to start before that. So his last four starts, he's looked really good. So, I mean, I get it. I don't normally say that Arizona is a team that I want to normally pick on.

8:10

But, I mean, you look at their lineup they got here. They do have Pedermo is at twelve percent, Carroll at twenty one percent. Then the middle of that lineup's all in the teams. And then you got Tawa. He's at twenty seven. Lawler, if he's in there, twenty five. McCann, nineteen. So the middle of part of that lineup really doesn't have the strikeouts that we'd like to see.

8:32

But, I mean, just looking at pivots, looking at the recent success here in the last thirty days, which I do talk about, uh quite a bit here as we run down in the season lizardo is at uh strikeout rate to the lefties and he's at thirty two percent strikeout rate to righties so um yeah I just think that Arizona team is kind of mentally broken like that that kettle marty story I mean I just I don't think that uh locker room is all that happy.

8:58

I think Luzardo for me is the guy that, that, uh, I do like the most of the top just because of, like I said, especially with the ownership being involved. I think that's where I'd want to go. Uh, Melton with the Tigers. I mean, he's, he's pretty expensive over on FanDuel, but man, I just don't like this guy's strikeout upside. I mean, he hasn't been over five strikeouts in, uh, since, uh, What, July twenty third is last, you know, seven, eight starts.

9:25

So I think there's too much strikeout upside on this slate here today. It's a slate that I think you got to kind of worry about the top three. I think Cole could have a really good game, as we mentioned. Gore could as well. Lizardo. So I think there's some strikeouts, but I do think it takes a little bit of a dip. Now, you mentioned Burke. I think Burke's a wild card here. He's the definition of a tournament play. He hasn't looked at his last three starts.

9:49

We know what he's got under the hood. It just hasn't been performing here well recently. I wouldn't get overly excited on Burke, but if I'm playing a deeper portfolio with more teams, I do think I'd put Burke in the mix just because of his strikeout capability. But Nate's, for me, really up at the top. I mean... Just knowing the ownership you're going to see on Cole and Gore is going to be fairly high.

10:13

I think you're going to see those two get in the forty percent range. But, man, I just think Luzardo with, you know, being the pivot there, as good as he's looked in recent times, I am a little slightly concerned about the strikeout percentages that that D-backs lineup has. But, man, if you're just going to call it a pivot on the guy who's been getting it done over and over and over and over, you know, the last month and a half, I mean, I think I prefer Luzardo.

10:38

I think I'd go Luzardo, Cole, and then I'm going Gore, and then I'd throw in Burke. I mean, it's just – I think that's where I'm sitting. But for me, I think I really like Luzardo a lot more than probably a lot of others do. And I think my stand would be to take a little bit more of a heavier lean on Luzardo tonight and fade. You know, if I got maybe ten teams, I think half of them, I'm fading one of the two.

11:02

I'm fading both Gore and – and uh cole and I think I'd end up having a little bit more coal than gore Yeah, I like a lot of what you said there. So I'll start with the Luzardo. This is the clear spend up to be ContrarianA contrarian play or lineup is one built around choices most of the field will not make, such as low-owned players, unpopular teams or an unusual salary structure.Pick one or two contrarian spots per lineup and ground each in a real reason. The rest of the roster can look like the field.Full explanation ↗ on the slate. I mean, he's not going to be unknown, but he's going to be probably thirty percent less owned than guys like Garrett Cole. The reason being is you look at the props on the slate.

11:26

Garrett Cole does have the best prop on the slate. Six and a half strikeout prop juice the over here. He's also projected for two points higher at a thousand dollars cheaper than Luzardo. So that just makes it very easy. People are just going to click Garrett Cole over him.

11:40

Um between Garrett cole and mckenzie gore I much lean Garrett cole over mckenzie gore I just I I hate when mckenzie gore's chalk just because this dude's gonna nibble on the corners he he's gonna rack up his pitch count and it just can go south in a hurry right so give me Garrett cole over mckenzie gore um I love jesus lozardo with you I just I don't think many people play him and I think his ownership probably even moonwalks back further when people start going in there and uh building lineups, right?

12:09

Because they see, oh, Wrigley, wind blown out again, hot and humid, right? They're all expensive. It's pretty tough to, to click a $10,500, right? Let me just click in MacKenzie Gore and let me click in maybe a cheaper guy or Garrett Cole and punt a batter, a batter to, to, to make it work. Right. So for me, I ranked the top tier Luzardo number one, Garrett Cole number two, and then it would be Gore three Burke four.

12:34

Um, and then E-Rod five is kind of how I see this top tier. I think E-Rod is pretty interesting in tournaments. Um, And I wouldn't be shocked to see people, if you wanted to pair those guys up, Luzardo and Erod there. Erod's a contrarian, unknown play off of McKenzie Gore, just like Sean Burke is. Burke has not looked good in his last three starts. This is still just a bet on Erod.

12:57

It's a righty going up against Houston with a bunch of right handed batters and taking a look. Maybe he finds something right where we've seen this guy in the beginning of the year, right? Where he was a twenty six percent strikeout guy. You look over the last month. Hasn't been the case, right? He's at about twenty percent strikeouts.

13:18

I still think it's a pretty interesting slate to take a shot on him at $8,500 three hundred dollars less than MacKenzie Gore at a fraction of the ownership. I just think it's a good tournament play. So ideally, if you wanted to cut off your pitcher pool at Luzardo, Cole, Gore and Burke, I think you could certainly do that. Just those four pitchers and then sprinkle off and kind of mix and match these offenses, the Cubs, the Brewers, the Marlins, the Royals.

13:42

Right. We got Texas who's been good. The White Sox and Astros, right? You got obviously Coors Field. You got the Dodgers. There's tons of offenses to go to. So if you really wanted to kind of hone in your pitching slate, I think those four guys make a lot of sense. I think Erod's interesting just because he's been locked in. As of late, he's $8,200 and nobody's going to play him when he's projected for seven points less than MacKenzie Gore.

14:05

And there's only a six hundred dollar price difference. I just don't think anybody really clicks that name. So I think in tournaments, he's a pretty interesting play down below. I do want to throw out a couple of guys here. Grayson Rodriguez gets the matchup against the Yankees. Yankees do have a lot of power, but they also have a lot of strikeouts. $7,000, pretty decent price point for him.

14:23

Eric Lauer, I think, is going to get played in a lot of those Cubs and Baltimore stacks just because he's $6,200. Honestly, he's projected right around thirteen points, twelve and a half points, and he gets a matchup at home against the Cardinals. So talk on this lower tier. Any interest in guys like Eric Lauer, Grayson Rodriguez, Connor Prelip looks a little interesting.

14:47

Any of these cheaper guys that you can stomach in teams where you're trying to get to the Cubs bats, you're trying to get to those Baltimore bats. Any interest in some of these value guys? I mean, I was kind of surprised when I was looking around that Bradish was getting some ownership potential here tonight. Like, man, didn't we? I mean, that guy's walk percentage is just terrible. I mean, we talked about him last time out. He looked good in the five innings.

15:14

All of a sudden, the wheels fell off the cart, and he went to shit real quick. But I can't play somebody like Bradish in cores. I can't do that. Grayson Rodriguez against the Yankees. Man, I – I mean, I'd like to believe in Grayson Rodriguez. I mean, that guy was a pretty big prospect coming into the season a few years ago. I mean, he did have a decent start a couple starts ago against Houston, which really isn't saying much.

15:44

But I mean, Grayson Rodriguez just isn't something I really want to put my hat on, especially with the Yankees. So I think for me, I'd probably stay away from Rodriguez. I'm not really too big of a fan of that. Lauer against St. Louis. I mean, I could stomach that. I guess if it's going to help me get some bats, I don't mind that. You got, obviously, the late pitching hammer there. But St. Louis, for me, I mean, he's got what?

16:11

He's going to have to beat Walker, Herrera. Up at the top who've been pretty good. Jordan Walker is the guy. I mean, this, uh, Bay as kid that came up and hit all the homers his first time up, he's got a four, eight, team Woba against lefties too. So, uh, I mean, lower for me, I mean, there's a lot of red on his, uh, last thirty days. He hasn't looked pretty good. He's down to an eleven percent strikeout rate against lefties.

16:35

Is that nineteen percent to righties? I mean, it's just, uh, he's been getting barreled up quite a bit. It's just tough. You think his ground balls would be there. He's not getting those. His fly ball percentages are pretty high. So I do worry about Lauer. But for $6,200, if you're going to put in a tournament, I don't necessarily mind that. I saw somebody mentioned pre lip in the in the chat. I'm going to assume he's going to be the second guy through after the starter.

17:04

So he'll be the bulk reliever. I mean, pre-lift for me, I mean, the Tigers are getting back Riley Greene, so that's another strikeout bat that'll be in that lineup for the Tigers. And, man, they've been so bad here. Like, I don't mind that thought, to be honest with you. I think that's a decent thought process. There is quite a few strikeouts, especially at the bottom of that lineup. Riley Green's, like I said, at the bottom of that lineup.

17:32

Clark and Lee at the bottom of that lineup are at mid-twenty-three and a half percent. So, you know, I don't mind that thought. I think he could definitely roll up maybe six, seven Ks and possibly four innings. I could see that coming through. He's in probably a decent spot to get a win as well. So I don't hate that at all, really. So I think that would be in play for me too.

17:57

But after that, man, it does get a little bit – uh thin for me I see what you were saying about uh the erod I know he's above the $1,000 I I don't mind erod at all he's been pitching good but it just gets really thin down here I kind of like what you were saying at the top I just kind of make my pitching pool a little bit thinner with the guys that are up at the top with the four guys maybe we just make the decision go a little bit heavier on a guy like lasardo and not be as heavy on cole and uh in gore maybe we look at that route But I think there's some enough offense, too, we can get different, too.

18:30

And we don't need to press the pitching. Because I do think there's some high-end pitching strikeout arms here today that we don't want to get too cute because it could burn us real quick. Yeah, I just think on this slate, there's so many good offensive spots. I mean, some of the best spots on the slate aren't going to get owned as such because of their salaries on the hitters, right? So I think...

18:52

You can spread out enough ways that if you wanted to condense your pitcher pool down, I think that's a very viable way to go. Lazardo, Cole, Gore, Burke. Like I said, you can obviously expand out even further. I think Erod's an interesting play. I like Grayson Rodriguez down here. I like Prelip. And I think Eric Lauer, just if you need the salary. I see some talks about Dobnak in the chat. Marlon's going to be the highest on the stack on the slate.

19:17

I still can't play Dobnak. He's getting away with smoke and mirrors. His underlying metrics are horrible. He's not a good strikeout arm. I'd just much rather play Conor Prelip for cheaper or Eric Lauer for cheaper with similar, if not more, strikeout upside, or just play Grayson Rodriguez for a hundred dollars less. Grayson Rodriguez has a good strikeout prop on the slate. Prelip, five and a half K prop. Grayson Rodriguez, five and a half K prop. They're both cheaper than Dobnak.

19:41

I just don't think you need to go to Dobnak. Both of those guys are going to be LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Full explanation ↗ as well on the slate. So I think that my pitcher pool realistically is Luzardo, Cole, Gore, Burke, Grayson Rodriguez, Prelip. Are kind of the main six I'm looking at, and then Erod and Lauer would be seventh and eighth as kind of the distant options after that. That's kind of how I see the pitching. You can mix in other guys like you want to.

20:06

Troy Melton unowned up at the top. I just don't really want to pick on the Twins, and I think he's way overpriced for the matchup. So realistically, I'm going to kind of focus around those six and mix and match some of these offensive stacks. Any final takes to your eyes and from you from the pitcher aspect? Yeah, Paul Jen Stone mentioned something about how bad the Tigers were. I just looked it up out of curiosity. Holy shit, Nate. Dude, they got a .. .

20:30

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Yeah, I mean, you know, it's the time of the year. I mean, we're going to start getting to some call-ups here soon, forty-man rosters. It's going to get pretty fun here coming up. But, yeah, I mean, this one here, I think I'd stick up at the top with the pitching here tonight. And I think Gore would be the guy I'd probably fade the most between goal and goal. Say that real fast, Cole and Gore, Cole and Gore. Yeah, I agree.

21:14

Let's jump over and Talk to hitting slate. First game on the docket here is the Twins and the Tigers. Troy Melton going. Connor Prelip is going to come in after the opener there, I believe. I forget the guy's name, but he usually goes around twenty pitches or so. So typically they're going to run him out there an inning and then give Prelip the start in the back half of the the Tigers lineup, which does, I think, help help the case there.

21:40

Andrew Morris is going to start Prelip's game. Long guy, no interest really in the Tigers for me, not playing a team on a nine-game slate when we're contesting against really good hitting environment spots with a team that has a hundred ISO over the last month against left-handed pitching. I'm just not going to do it. Twins got the job done for me last night. I'll continue to say it. Walker Jenkins, I think this kid's a stud.

22:04

I know he hit his home run, like I called yesterday, off a position player in there. I think I forgot McKinstry, I think, was pitching there. Hey, it doesn't matter when you go and cash your ticket. They don't ask who he hit it off of. But I do think the Twins are kind of interesting. More is like fillers. They fit really well with some of these other stacks on the slate because of these positions. Right.

22:24

You got a $3,000 guy lefty against Troy Mountain there in Jenkins. Culpepper fills a shortstop position. He's $3,300. I think he's interesting. Brooks Lee Clemens. Clemens has been really, really good. Clemens hit another bomb yesterday. His price continues to drop. I'm not sure what he needs to do. Second base outfield eligible, $4,700 for him. Brooks Lee, like I said, a third base. I think he's interesting.

22:44

Keyshaw don't really love him, but the dude just puts the ball in play and steals bases. So he always has upside. I think the Twins are on my list. They're not one of my top stacks on the board, but I think the Twins are kind of interesting overall here. Tigers burned through a bunch of bullpen arms yesterday as well. Which does help the cause too, but not one of the focus games on the slate. How do you see this one, though?

23:10

Yeah, I don't like the offense in either one. I'm not picking on Troy Melton. That's for damn sure. That kid's been pretty good. I think he's only given up, like, three or more earned runs in two of his, like, fifteen starts so far this year. He's been really good. So, he's just not the DFS pitcher you'd want to see. He's got a really low ERA. He just don't have the strikeout upside that we want to see.

23:32

But, yeah, he's definitely not a guy I'm going to pick on. And as far as the other side of that, I mean, like you said, Tigers can't seem to hit their way out of a damn paper bag right now. So, I'm all set with that. I mean, I don't care if it's my favorite team or not.

23:47

I generally will tell you, you know, I clicked the last few weeks, and if one of my teams, the stacks I'm looking at, is at the bottom of slugging and OPS, there's a pretty good chance I might think about going somewhere else. So Tigers for me, no thanks. I ain't going there. Yeah, I know Melton hasn't given up a bunch, but he does give it up to left side if he does give it up.

24:08

So that's where Jenkins, Lee, Clemens, I think that nine, two, three little Mini-StackIn MLB DFS, a mini-stack is two or three hitters from the same team, often used alongside a larger stack from another offense. Their scoring can connect when one hitter reaches base and another drives him in.Before locking a pair, describe how both players reach big scores together. Then ask whether that outcome would make an omitted quarterback or teammate difficult to beat.Full explanation ↗ I think makes a lot of sense there. And I had some yesterday. I'll definitely have that little mini stack on one of my teams here tonight for sure. Next spot on the slate is probably, all things considered, the most important game, at least when I run Optos and the dry run. I get a bunch of this game because of their price points. You look at the price points here.

24:33

They're all dirt cheap. Royals, Dobnak. Like I said, his underlying metrics, his expected ERA, all the underlying stat nerd metrics for pitchers, he's atrocious. He's been getting away with it. He is a ground ball guy. Marlins don't strike out very much, especially over the last month or so against right-handed pitching here. Kansas City's bullpen might be setting records for the worst ever, one of them.

25:01

So it is a good spot on paper here for the Marlins, but a ChalkChalk is the most popular, highly owned play on a slate. The term comes from sports betting, where the favorite is called the chalk.Don't label chalk good or bad. Ask whether each popular play deserves its ownership, then decide which chalk you'll eat and which you'll fade.Full explanation ↗ Marlins offense on a nine-game slate with Wrigley, with Coors Field, with the Dodgers, with the Yankees even, I mean – I don't know. I can definitely see a case there. I don't love it personally. I hate stacking against Dobnak. I've tried to stack against this guy every time he's made a start, and the dude goes out there. Yeah, he might walk a guy and then ground ball double play.

25:27

I'm going to sell on the Marlins here tonight. I get it. They look like a good stack. I just... The Cubs are going to be LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Full explanation ↗ on this slate. Baltimore is going to be much lower owned because of their salaries.

25:36

If that means punting off the Mini-StackIn MLB DFS, a mini-stack is two or three hitters from the same team, often used alongside a larger stack from another offense. Their scoring can connect when one hitter reaches base and another drives him in.Before locking a pair, describe how both players reach big scores together. Then ask whether that outcome would make an omitted quarterback or teammate difficult to beat.Full explanation ↗ or going to the back half of those teams and getting some of those value teams in there over double spending at pitching and going Gore and Cole with the Marlins because it fits, that's kind of how I tend to want to approach this slate personally myself. On the KC side, you want lefties mainly against Phillips here. So Vinny P., Caglino, and Jensen. Those three look pretty good. Obviously, you can always play Bobby Witt.

26:00

You got two cheap guys in the back half too, and Isbel and Isaac Collins. But if I had to pick a side, it'd be more on the Royals side. But I don't love this game as much as other games on the slate. And this is going to be the chalkiest game on the slate because of their salaries. Talk to me. How do you see this one? Yeah, I'm not a fan at all. I mean, we saw the Royals. I don't play the Royals at all.

26:26

I haven't played them all year. I mean, hey, I give kudos to Matt Belman. I mean, he did ship. Yeah, I think he came in second on one of the tournaments. He ended up having $20,000 off the road and then he bounced back with the Indians and smashed $50,000. So props to our boy Matt out there as well. But. Yeah, I mean, I do like, you know, a couple of the players in here. I think Stowers looks pretty good.

26:51

You got Griffin Conine in there as well against – against Dobnak too but I mean you're right against with Dobnak I mean this guy just doesn't give beat up he doesn't consistently give run there's more zeros and one earn runs in his stat line all the way down the season than there are crooked numbers so uh Dobnak just like you said ground ball type lean he's got a fifty seven percent ground ball lean to the right side of fifty two percent I don't know.

27:18

I've been saying it all year. I don't like stacking my teams against ground ball pitchers. I mean, you may feel differently. I just don't feel like you got the upside you need to get the home runs you need. So for me, it's kind of easy for me to say no thanks on on a full stack, but maybe Stowers and Conine, but Conine pinch hit risk. Also, if Dobnak comes out. But, I mean, we know that Royals bullpen sucks. I get it.

27:43

As far as the Royals go, I mean, I haven't been stacking them all that much so far this year. I mean, I feel like you can play Bobby Witt at any time. Maybe Caglioni if you wanted to go there. But I don't like that full stack either. I think maybe just a couple bats for some One-OffIn MLB DFS, a one-off is a hitter you roster without other hitters from his team. You select him individually rather than as part of a group from the same batting lineup. Before adding a one-off, compare him with an affordable teammate of your existing stack. Decide whether his individual upside is worth passing up that extra scoring connection.Full explanation ↗. But if you're telling me they're going to be high on, then I'll just look elsewhere for some one-offs. I think this is another spot.

28:05

That I just prefer fading and find some offense in different spots. But I do like picking on that Royals bullpen, though. I just don't really want to do it with the Marlins. Yeah, I mean, I think the Marlins, Tyler Stowers would be my favorite play, but Conine looks good, but he's at risk for two at-bats. He's a pinch hit risk. Marcy is a little pinch hit risk as well. Casey, if Casey gets the start, he's a big pinch hit risk.

28:33

So the guys you want to play, the lefties against Dobnak, have a bunch of pinch hit risk outside of Stowers. So that's why I just prefer to play Tyler Stowers. The issue is, is I just don't love playing a super chalky one-off guy that strikes out a ton like Tyler Stowers does. So, Like I said, I don't love this game as much as The FieldThe field is everyone else entered in a contest, the group of lineups you are competing against. Before you build, picture the typical lineup in your contest. Then decide on purpose where you'll match it and where you'll step away from it.Full explanation ↗ is going to love it.

28:53

I'd much rather go in in better offensive spots like the Cubs that we're going to talk about, like the Orioles, the Brewers. And, I mean, you're going to get these teams lower owned than a shittier offense in the Marlins, in my case. And I know the Royals' bullpen isn't good, but they still have to get there. And Dobnak tends to kind of just skate his way through because of all of his ground balls, right? Let me look at Dobnik's prop real quick.

29:16

I want to see what his out prop is. Dobnik, he's got a fifteen and a half out prop, so they're expecting five and a half Right. I mean, they're expecting five innings out of him at least. Right. So then you're talking arrested Kansas City bullpen. I know it's not good, but then you're talking pin shit, things like that. So, yeah, I mean, Caglianone and Owen Jensen are probably my two favorite plays from from the the game in general.

29:39

And then you got a cheap guy in Vinny P, like I said, at $3,900 at first base. I probably play Vinny P over Stowers given straight up with the extra salary and the lower OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Full explanation ↗ there. Next spot, Wrigley wins. This game went nuclear yesterday. It's not going to be as favorable hitting conditions today as it was yesterday. It's still going to play above average here. Any win matters at Wrigley.

30:02

You're talking about I don't know, six to eight mile an hour with gust at ten plus here. It is super hot and humid, like you alluded to earlier. Right. I walk outside and instantly start sweating when you see the window sweating from the inside. Right. From from the temperature difference from the AC to the outside. And you got a bunch of condensation on the windows. You know, it's just going to be a steam shower out there when you walk outside. Ball should be flying here.

30:28

You got two lefties that give up fly balls as well. I love the Cubs. Cubs went off for nine home runs yesterday, and nobody's going to play them again. I mean, this team is going to be sub-five OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Full explanation ↗ on a nine-game slate with over a five-implied run total against Robert Gasser, who can't get righties out. I mean, Suzuki looks great. Bregman looks great.

30:49

Tyrone Taylor, I know there's a pitch at risk there, but there's a good chance he hits a home run. You got Pedro Ramirez should be back in there. He's cheaper. Amaya, Matt Shaw. You can easily afford this Cubs stack. I don't love PCA at $7,000, but it's hard to argue with how good he's been as of late. This is one of my favorite games. It's not my favorite game in the slate. I love the Cubs at no ownership.

31:11

And then the Brewers, I don't like playing the Brewers against ground ball guy. Wasn't on the Brewer super heavy yesterday because of Clay Holmes is ground ball lean. Matthew Boyd just isn't a ground ball guy. He gives up a ton of fly balls, especially to the right side. Chourio looks really good. Sanchez looks really good. Pratt hit a bomb last night. Joey Ortiz against the lefty has been one of the better hitters. For the Brewers in general.

31:31

Contreras is having a hell of a last month and a half. You got Andrew Vaughn. I love this game both sides. These are two of my favorite offenses on the slate, and you're going to get them lower on than teams like the Marlins and the Royals, which I think is a mistake on the slate. Talk to me. Man, I'll tell you what, too. Dude, you look at the Cubbies in the last fifteen days, Nades. They got thirty.

31:54

I know they hit nine, and PCA didn't hit one. When I saw they had nine homers, I'm like, tell me he hit three. But anyway, he didn't even hit one. So either way, but I mean, dude, they got thirty four damn homers in the last two weeks. That's insane. Like that is unbelievable. I don't think I've seen that big of a gap. Sixty two. Sixty two in August. They hit sixty two home runs in August.

32:17

And now you got eighty five degrees wind blown out Wrigley with a fly ball lefty. Right. I mean, they're the hottest team as far as power slugging goes in baseball. So, yeah, definitely keep riding them. Gasser isn't anybody that I'm definitely worried about. You got the righties with Suzuki in there. You got Bregman, who obviously had a decent game. You got Hoerner. So, Ramirez, even at the bottom of that lineup, has got a .四-oh-two Wova against Lefty.

32:45

So, yeah, I think all the way up and down this game's in play. You know, as you mentioned, the wind's blowing out. Milwaukee, like you said, anytime they're playing a pitcher that's got fly ball capabilities, I think the Brewers definitely got to be in play. I do prefer them against against the righty and prefer their lefties. But I mean, Boyd is definitely a guy that can give up some fly balls, especially to the right side. So I think they're definitely in play.

33:12

Contreras, Vaughn. Gary Sanchez in the middle of that lineup. I mean, the last thirty days, Boyd's been getting beat up by right. He's got a three three seventy six Woba. His fly ball percentage is up. He's getting barreled at fifteen percent. So, I mean, it's all in line. I mean, you're telling me I'd much rather play these two teams than the Royals and Marlins. Now, I understand that there's a salary cap involved. But, man, I just think.

33:38

Both sides of this are in play for me. I'd have a lean to the Cubs just because, I mean, they're just been the hottest team in baseball as far as power goes. And I'm just going to keep riding that out, especially if you're telling me there's a fly ball pick. If you took the Matthews Boyd name off that and just changed the name but left the same stats that was going on there, I think the Cubbies would be way higher on than they probably are.

34:02

And I'm not afraid of Matthews Boyd at all. So for me, give me some of them Cubs. I think the Cubs are definitely one of my favorite teams here today. Yeah, I love this game. This is one of my favorite games. It's not my favorite game on the slate. Ownership is not going to go there and I understand the Marlins are cheaper. The Royals are cheaper, but I mean look at these salaries.

34:20

Prats, thirty, six hundred Lara, thirty, five hundred Julia Ortiz, thirty, five hundred shortstop and third base eligible. Gary Sanchez, four to Vaughn, thirty, seven hundred dual position eligibility. William Contreras, four three. This dude just keeps hitting home runs, especially against lefty and Cubs. Yeah, PCA, Suzuki and Bregman are expensive, but the rest of them are all free. I mean, I don't really want to play $4,400 Michael Bush lefty lefty anyway. So for me, it's the back half. I like the back half a ton.

34:47

I love Ramirez, Amaya, Shaw. They're in there, Taylor, Suzuki. Those kind of five are my favorite. And then obviously Bregman fine and PCA is good, too. But I like the cheaper guys anyways in these stacks. So I'm Logan loading the wagon on this game. I love both both sides of it. And I'm pretty shocked that the ownership is not going to really go there. And I don't see it.

35:07

Gonna kind of steam up either leading up to lock based on what projections are saying um because of that uh that bullpen factor of Kansas City and in the Marlins price points next spot Rangers Athletics I'm gonna be kind of a bullpen game here for the A's Rangers have been really good as of late um I think they're fine as more Mini-StackIn MLB DFS, a mini-stack is two or three hitters from the same team, often used alongside a larger stack from another offense. Their scoring can connect when one hitter reaches base and another drives him in.Before locking a pair, describe how both players reach big scores together. Then ask whether that outcome would make an omitted quarterback or teammate difficult to beat.Full explanation ↗ um Jake Berger Foscue Foscue is a big pinch hit risk but the dude hits left he's really good Diaz hits lefties really good.

35:34

Those two guys did pretty solid for me last night. They did both get pinch hit for, so there's some risk there. I think the Rangers more as fillers make some sense here. No A's interest for me. I know McKenzie Gore is going to be super chalk on this slate. I mean, if you wanted to play a Henry Bolt, Giloth, Jonah Heim, something like that, I don't think it's the worst play in the world. Max Muncy, a righty, he hits lefties pretty good.

35:56

He's I'd just rather not play MacKenzie Gore than kind of go in and stack the A's. Personally, this team has just been absolutely miserable. But talk to me here in Globe Life. This is one of the best pitching parks in all of baseball.

36:11

Yeah I mean I I'll tell you I don't mind the Rangers at all just because of the fact of how bad that bullpen is for for the a's and then you look at the the way that they got brass basso coming out basso I mean damn you know how much that guy got teased was a kid basso you know he heard it so you know he's probably scrappy around the swing set because my man probably heard that all the way through till uh till probably high school but either way I mean, that lefty coming in, you know, it tells me that a guy like Corey Seager is an elite type play and One-OffIn MLB DFS, a one-off is a hitter you roster without other hitters from his team. You select him individually rather than as part of a group from the same batting lineup. Before adding a one-off, compare him with an affordable teammate of your existing stack. Decide whether his individual upside is worth passing up that extra scoring connection.Full explanation ↗ here today because nobody going to play him because they see the lefty starter.

36:47

And then you're going to get part of this shitty A's bullpen that's going to come through. And man, I think that would be, you know, somebody like even Nemo could could be in play for me here today. So, yeah, I think I wouldn't sleep all the way on him as far as a stack, maybe like a Mini-StackIn MLB DFS, a mini-stack is two or three hitters from the same team, often used alongside a larger stack from another offense. Their scoring can connect when one hitter reaches base and another drives him in.Before locking a pair, describe how both players reach big scores together. Then ask whether that outcome would make an omitted quarterback or teammate difficult to beat.Full explanation ↗. But I do like the lefties there, especially that you're going to get a lot of that A's bullpen. So give me some Seager.

37:11

Give me some Nemo. I don't mind them two at all. And then, I mean, you could always throw in Duran and Lankford if you wanted to have some kind of a mini stack. But, yeah, I mean, I'm just attacking that bullpen. And I know Basso ain't going to last too long. So for me to get some power bats that probably no one's going to play because they see lefty-lefty for, what, maybe one time through the lineup. Big deal.

37:34

So I think Corey Seager is a great play at shortstop today. Yeah, Foscue, Durin, a lot of these guys, Nimmo, Seager, Freeman. They've all been pretty solid, so I get it. I don't love the full stack just because of the pinch hit risk. Guys like Foscue and Diaz, if a righty comes in after Basso there, I don't know if this Magdic guy or however you pronounce his name is going to be the long guy.

38:00

I know that's what we have on the stone here. I didn't see it, but if he is, then you've got more innings of left-handed pitching there for guys like Dern and Berger. Freeman, like I said, Diaz, Langford, those guys there. So I do think it's in play. Not one of my top stacks on the slate, but I do probably have the Texas bats kind of in the same categories like the Twins, right?

38:23

I think they're fine fillers and kind of, Position as you find your five-man stack, you need some position eligibility to make a mini stack or a one-off. That's kind of how I see Texas on this slate. Next spot on the slate, Ronald Blanco, Sean Burke on the mound. We talked about Sean Burke, but he has not been good over the last month or so. Astros make some sense. I think Jordan is a Spending UpSpending up means choosing a higher-priced player over a cheaper alternative, using more of your lineup's salary budget at that spot. You may also hear it called paying up.Build a version with your preferred expensive player and another without. Before choosing, check whether either version relies on a cheap player whose expected role still depends on unresolved injury news.Full explanation ↗-to-beat ContrarianA contrarian play or lineup is one built around choices most of the field will not make, such as low-owned players, unpopular teams or an unusual salary structure.Pick one or two contrarian spots per lineup and ground each in a real reason. The rest of the roster can look like the field.Full explanation ↗ on the slate.

38:47

He is one of the best hitters in baseball. But I love the White Sox here tonight. Blanco's been atrocious. White Sox are my favorite overall stack on the slate here. I mean, Blanco just been so bad. It's unreal. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I don't want to talk too much shit because last time we were on the show and we talked shit about him. He was the only one that did anything. White Sox kind of burned me a little bit last night, but I'm right back on the well here.

39:28

And you look at the Houston bullpen as well. We know it's not very good. And they used a bunch of their bullpen arms yesterday. Houston did four bullpen arms yesterday, twenty seven pitches, twenty three pitches, sixteen pitches, eighteen pitches. Okert being one of the better arms as well. Probably going to be unavailable. He's thrown back to back days. Obviously, Josh Hader is in the back half there, but he's not going to come in if this game's out of hand.

39:51

I love the White Sox here, my favorite overall stack on the slate, and they're pretty affordable. Talk to me. Yeah, I like the White Sox too, especially them lefties. Blanco cannot seem to get his control under control to the lefties. He's been walking quite a few on the season. He's at sixteen and a half percent walk percentage overall.

40:09

To lefties he's getting pretty damn close to that eighteen percent strikeout rate he's got against lefties he is a little better for strikeouts against righties but Man, I mean, he's just been bad. Like you met a four seventy one. Whoa. But it left these ground ball percentage. Twenty seven percent fly ball percentage. Thirty nine percent. I mean, it's that's the last thirty days. He's just not been good. I know he got sent back down. And then what? Rosters expand. They bring his ass back up.

40:34

We're going to throw him in here. I mean, the dude has not been very good at all. White Sox aren't a team. They're pretty patient, too. So they're going to make him throw some pitches. And I think they definitely can get to him. Murakami, we know he's got – I mean, he's dropped a little bit. I know his Wobbe's been over .四hundred for most of the season against righties. He's at . Three-ninety-three here at the moment.

40:54

But, yeah, I think all of the lefties here for the White Sox, for me, are somewhere I'm looking at. I'm not really – wanting to throw some Astros in against Burke, but I mean, obviously Mr. Superstar himself, Jordan Alvarez is, is always in play. If you wanted to, uh, to swap him out for somebody, I think he'd be a decent One-OffIn MLB DFS, a one-off is a hitter you roster without other hitters from his team. You select him individually rather than as part of a group from the same batting lineup. Before adding a one-off, compare him with an affordable teammate of your existing stack. Decide whether his individual upside is worth passing up that extra scoring connection.Full explanation ↗ to throw in there.

41:17

Just got some power potential, especially against Burke who has struggled as we mentioned, but, uh, yeah, give me some, uh, give me some White Sox. I throw them up there, man. I'll tell you what, Nades, I don't know. I got both Chicago teams up in the top handful of my of my stacks here today. I matter of fact, I put them both in my top three today, both Chicago teams. So, yeah, definitely an interesting slate.

41:41

I think, you know, with with with the White Sox bringing in, it's fun to play the White Sox. I mean, I definitely hate playing against them. But yeah, you're talking about Blanco. Blanco is going to get pummeled here tonight. Yeah, I'm with you there. I love the White Sox on the slate, and I'm with you. I love the Cubs as well. So I'm riding on some Chicago squad, which feels gross, but I like money over fandom any day of the week.

42:06

Let's jump to Coors Field. Obviously, another good spot here, Gabriel Hughes, I think is, I mean, I think he's a serviceable arm for the Rockies here. Good strikeouts to the right side, not so much to the left side. Gives up some power, especially over the last month. O's fell on their face yesterday. We know that Rockies bullpen is atrocious. It's better hitting environment here today than it was yesterday.

42:33

And neither of these teams are really going to get the OwnershipOwnership is the percentage of lineups in a contest that include a given player. Projected ownership is an estimate made before lock; actual ownership is posted once the contest locks.Ownership isn't something to avoid; it's something to build around. The goal is understanding how the field is likely to build, then finding your edge relative to that.Full explanation ↗ that they should because of their price points. They are expensive. Luis Robert should be back in this lineup for the O's as well. The issue is, is their salaries, right? They are super expensive. I prefer the Cubs because I think the Cubs are cheaper to stack than the O's. I prefer the White Sox. I prefer the Brewers even because I think they're cheaper to stack.

42:53

The O's have to have, you have to have a lot of interest in them here. Again, flop leg spot. You're going to get them sub, I mean, probably fifty percent of the ownership that they had yesterday. You're going to get them much lower on today. Rockies, not as much interest, but Bradish has been up and down. The lefties are what you want. Rumfield, McCarthy, Castro, Kerrig. Some of those guys make some sense.

43:15

Moniak, if he's hitting eighth at $5,200, he's going to be zero percent on the slate. So he's always got a ton of upside. Talk to me here, Coors Field, to to start off the night window. Yeah, Gabriel Hughes, I mean, he just hasn't – has not been all that good. As you mentioned, his K percentage to the left side is really low. It's almost like literally half what he's got to the right side.

43:39

He is a fly ball lean type pitcher, so that is definitely concerning. He does get a little bit more ground balls to the left side, but he hasn't been getting them as much to the right side at twenty nine percent. He's at forty five percent to the left side. He's got a thirty five percent fly ball rate to to the right side. So, you know, Pete Alonzo, I think he would be a guy that I definitely be looking at.

44:05

But even some of these lefties, Beavers would be in play. But Salo, you know, I could have made a Beavers joke, but I just let it go. Gunnar Henderson, Holliday, blah, blah, blah. I think they're definitely all in play here in Coors.

44:17

So definitely like that as far as, you know, comparing them to like, the cubbies and the white socks I think I'd have them the step below I don't have them in my uh top three today but Colorado against Bradish and all those walk issues I think I would just uh be doing some power hunting a guy like Goodman I think would be in play for me uh maybe moniac you could look at kerrig I think would be interesting so Maybe Bradish could get a few guys on.

44:48

I mean, he's got a pretty heavy ground ball percentage, especially his last month to the right side. He's at almost fifty percent, fifty two, fifty three percent to the right side. So his fly ball percentage has been a little lower, but it has bumped up to the left side. So, like I said, I think like Moniak would be someone I'd look at. Like I said, he was cruising last game.

45:09

What was he, through five, and all of a sudden the damn wheels fall off the cart there. But, yeah, that bad bullpen with Colorado, Baltimore, I do prefer that side of the game. But I think Pete Alonzo would be a guy that, I mean, you're not going to get great home run odds, but I'm thinking that dude's going yard today. Yeah, no, I definitely get it. And we like some of the cheaper pitchers, right?

45:31

We talked about Grayson Rodriguez a little bit with his strikeout upside pre-lip and that's kind of how you unlock the Baltimore stack. So I think it makes some sense in those types of builds. And yeah, I mean, I think if you play one of those guys and maybe like a Burke or something like that, I think it's kind of interesting or, Go like a Luzardo and one of those cheap guys and somehow fit in some of these O's. I think that's an interesting way to go.

45:56

Do you want to keep an eye out for the lineup? We should get we might get Zach being back in the lineup for the Rockies. Big, big time prospect for them. Huge power. He got injured after he was up for a little bit. But if he's back in there, I think he's a really good play. He should hit in the back half of the lineup. I think he'd be an interesting.

46:15

He's kind of all or nothing, at least from what we've seen so far in the majors. But when he hits it, it's probably going to go and leave the yard there. And Bradish does give up a bunch of power to the left side there. So lefties you want on the Rockies. Orioles. If you can make them work, they are a good spot here for sure.

46:34

I do have the Cubs and the White Sox ahead of the Oreos, though, personally, myself, and another team we're going to talk about in a little bit. Yankees, Angeles, Grayson Rodriguez, Garrett Cole. This is a pitching slot for me here. I'm not really messing with it. I mean, Angeles, if you wanted to use the LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Full explanation ↗ word against Garrett Cole, sure, you can. Not for me on a nine-game slate. There's much other offenses that I'm going to. Yankees, it is still Grayson Rodriguez.

46:56

He can get wild. And he's not a great arm. He's going to see eight lefties in the lineup probably as well. I think he's have enough power to beat any slate that they're on. Angels, obviously, bullpen is not very good. I'd much rather just play the pitchers in this one. I do want to say, though, Grayson Rodriguez has been much better over the last month against the left side.

47:17

But if he falls back to where he was beginning of the year that we've seen him to lefties, you could see the Yankees break out. It's probably more of like a night slate play than a main slate play, personally, myself, for that four-game night slate. But talk to me here in Anaheim, Yankees, Angeles. Yeah, I'm kind of with you there. I don't really want to try to push too much here against these two pitchers.

47:41

But if I was going to look at anything, I think the Yankees, as you said, I mean, they're going to throw, what, eight lefties at Rodriguez. I mean, so far in the season, I mean, if you look at his overall numbers, as you mentioned, he's been way better the last thirty days. But, dude, like his Wobo's four or one ground ball percentages are We're at thirty four percent fly ball, thirty percent. I mean, he was getting barreled up. I mean, he's just hasn't been good.

48:04

His walk percentage was high. So, I mean, and that's over one hundred and eighty three at bats throughout the season. He did have one hundred and forty plate appearances against the right side. But I mean, his last thirty days, he's only had sixty eight. So just kind of doing quick math. I mean, it's almost like a third percentage. Of what he's been through so far in the last month.

48:25

So, but yeah, I mean, like you said, he could definitely resort to how bad he's been at the beginning half of the season against, against the lefties. And if it's going to happen against the team, I mean, the Yankees definitely got the lefty power to get it done. I mean, even adding the Bellinger back here. So, yeah, I think the Yankees are in play. I'd call them like a sneakier type stack.

48:44

But the problem is, Nades, you're going to have to Spending UpSpending up means choosing a higher-priced player over a cheaper alternative, using more of your lineup's salary budget at that spot. You may also hear it called paying up.Build a version with your preferred expensive player and another without. Before choosing, check whether either version relies on a cheap player whose expected role still depends on unresolved injury news.Full explanation ↗ for the Yankees. And, you know, I think then it's just would you rather play a team like the Orioles or the Cubbies or someone else? So I think to me, they'd just be like a PivotA pivot in DFS is an alternative player or lineup combination you choose instead of another option. Tournament pivots usually seek comparable scoring upside at lower ownership, meaning fewer competing lineups use them. Before swapping, check what the replacement changes around it: your remaining salary, teammates, opposing players and available later-starting options.Full explanation ↗ off one of them top teams that you're going to have to pay up for. And I wouldn't get overly excited about it, but I definitely think you can get to Grayson Rodriguez. Yeah, I agree.

49:06

I mean, Grayson Rodriguez has been much better against the lefties, too, over the last month. He's actually been really good. Against lefties, twenty eight percent striker rate against left handed pitcher or left handed hitters. Over last month in like sixty some plate appearances there. So that's kind of why you see Vegas hanging a five and a half K prop on him.

49:23

But yeah, in like like I said, that night slate, I think the Yankees make a lot more sense than they do in the full nine games. Won't be shocked. Yankees have broken plenty of slates, but I'd put the other teams at similar salaries. Cubs, Brewers, White Sox, the Baltimore side over the Yankees here tonight myself. Phillies, D-backs, Erod, Luzardo, two lefties on the mound. Lizardo, one of our favorite pitchers, if not UNI's favorite pitcher on the slate. No D-backs really for me.

49:53

Moreno does hit lefties well. Kettle Marte obviously hits lefties well. But I don't really want to pick on Luzardo. He's been really good. He just really doesn't get beat up too much. He's had a couple bad starts or one atrocious start. D-backs don't strike out against lefties, so you can make that case. I just – I don't love it on this slate. Same thing on the Phillips. I know Erod's kind of getting away with what his ERA is, like two-point something.

50:20

His underlying metrics are not good, but he just continues to go out there and just get through it somehow. Sure, Schwarber, Harper can always do it. Real Muto, Sosa are the two power bats mainly against left-handed pitching here. Derek Hale too, but he's a big pinch hit risk. I don't love this game for offense here. How do you see this one? Yeah, I don't really care for it either. Game total sitting at seven and a half.

50:43

I think there's enough offense today for me not to try to push it too hard with these. I don't even really like any many kind of stacks out of either one of these, especially like fooling around with Erod. He's just been so good, and we much prefer the fills seeing a right-hander, especially with that power, Schwarber, Harper, arise. I mean, don't sleep on Schwarber. I mean, that dude still hits lefties. He's a three-eighty-nine Woba against lefties, two-fifty ISO.

51:13

So, I mean, Schwarber can basically hit anybody, but I just, I don't think that this is necessarily the slate for that. Lizardo, I'm not picking on Luzardo either, as you mentioned. He's One of our favorite pitchers today. But yeah, I just this game here isn't for me for offense. Now the next one. This one. I agree. The next one. Let's take it to us. This is probably right up there next to the Cubs and the White Sox is my favorite offense on the slate here.

51:38

McGreevy. I love lefties against McGreevy. This is one of my favorite guys to stack against here. Cardinals bullpen, not very good either. I love the Dodgers on this slate, and you're going to get the Dodgers much lower on than you normally would in the same kind of matchup on this slate because there is so many good offensive spots. We got the win game at Wrigley. We got Coors Field with Baltimore with a huge implied run total. I love the Dodgers here.

52:02

I want all the lefties and then mix in the righties with position eligibility that you need. Make a ton of sense. I think some of the Cardinals righties, Herrera, Walker, Baez, some of those guys I think make some sense against Lauer for sure. Locked in for nine here in this one. Pretty good place to hit here tonight as well in Dodger Stadium. Sign me up.

52:23

I mean, you got some wind blowing out, temperatures in the seventies, pretty typical weather in September here in L.A., I love this spot for the Dodgers. Talk to me. How do you see this one? Yeah, Dodgers will be up there, as you mentioned, with them Chicago teams here today. McGreevy, I mean, he's looked a little bit better as far as strikeout rate to the left side. He has the last thirty days, but he's been getting hit a hell of a lot harder the last thirty days, too.

52:51

I saw up to two twenty nine. Woba three seventy nine. His ground ball percentage and his fly ball percentages are pretty close to the same, which that's not too good for Mr. McGreevy, especially against the lefties. So, I mean, just looking at that lineup they're going to throw out there, I mean, all the way down, up and down, I think, you can play all of these Dodgers, especially down at the bottom, of course, with my man Kiki. Do you love me?

53:18

Down there at the bottom. So I wouldn't discount Mr. Hernandez either. But, yeah, I mean, obviously, Ohtani, Freeman, Muncie, even Tommy Edmund, I think, was in play. I think the only one I'd probably be tougher for me to play is Tyler Tucker just because he just doesn't seem to have his shit together so far at this point in the time. But, yeah, I think basically all them Dodgers for me are in play. I'd definitely put them in my top three with them two Chicago teams.

53:44

But, yeah, I think Kike, as a wraparound, it wouldn't be bad to pair up with them top lefties up at the top of that lineup. Yeah, you might see Alec Thomas get the start, though, over Kiki just to throw another lefty. He does have power. He is he is $2,400. So if he's in there, I actually like him. I know he's a big pinch at risk, but he does have a lot of power historically against right handed pitching.

54:10

And the dude is basically free on DraftKings. So even if you are looking at two at bats and he gets you a walk or something or a run score to get you two to five points. Doesn't kill you. If he hits a home run, you're kind of swimming. So I do think he's interesting and I would be shocked if he doesn't kind of get the start here against McGreevy. So I didn't want to call that out.

54:28

I just, typically they start Kiki against the lefty. I don't, I think they're going to start him against the righty here, but I could be wrong. So Edmund, Tucker, Thomas, Rapparondo, Tani Freeman, that looks really good to me. Muncy as well. Will Smith should be back, which does help their stack overall. He's $3,800 underpriced for him, a catcher. So, yeah, all things point to the Dodgers. They're one of my favorite stacks on the slate.

54:52

I put them right up there next to the Cubs, next to the White Sox on this slate. G_Rizen, that's all nine games. Your favorite, your top three pitchers, your top three stacks and a home run call if you have one. Yeah, I think Luzardo for me, my favorite. Then I'd go Cole. And then I think I'd probably go Burke. And then, like I said, I have more fun fading Gore than not.

55:15

The top three stacks, I'm going to go – I'm going Cubs one, White Sox two, Dodgers three. And as far as a home run call goes, I saw we got a little bit of some love there in the chat, Nades, that the last time I think we were on, we pulled off. A nice little double banger for everybody. So for today, I am going to that Wrigley Field game. And I am actually going to the Brewers side. And I am going with Williams Contreras.

55:47

We'll hit a home run. All right. I like that for me. My pitchers, I'm going Luzardo, Garrett Cole, and then I will say Connor Prelip is kind of the LeverageLeverage is the edge you gain by rostering a play the field is underweight on, compared with how often it ends up in winning lineups. When that play outscores the popular option most lineups chose instead, you gain ground on those lineups, though the rest of your roster still decides where you finish.Look for leverage on players connected to the chalk, like the other side of a popular game or a teammate who can steal the popular player's touches.Full explanation ↗ guy down in the value tier range. That's going to be a little lower owned than a guy like Grayson Rodriguez, but I do like him as well. Offense for me, I'm going White Sox, number one. Cubs number two, Dodgers three, Brewers four. Those kind of four teams I'm looking at.

56:15

Mainly my home run call, I'm going to the White Sox. I'm not going to the top of the order, although I do think Vargas is a good play. I'm going to the back half of the lineup. I'm going to the eight-hole hitter. It was the nine-hole hitter yesterday for the Twins. It's the eight-hole hitter, Tristan Peters, three-K flat. Another value lefty. This dude's had an incredible last month. Murders right-handed pitching. Tons of fly balls given up by Blanco. Tons of power.

56:38

Give me a $3,000 Tristan Peters to go deep here tonight to round out the show. For G Rosin, I'm Nades. Good luck tonight in those contests, especially those in the three, three, three, three. Hopefully you take home that million dollar top prize. Like I said, for G Rosin, I'm Nades. We'll be back tomorrow. Good luck tonight. Peace.
